Obsessed

"Brayden, that's super sweet, thank you!"
To be truthful, Kitty didn't know how to thank him properly, so she just hugged him quickly. To her, it was a friendly gesture, not too drawn out, nothing that was very suggestive, just something to show her appreciation. She hoped it wouldn't make him uncomfortable.

Brayden smiled at Katherine as she thanked him.. And then she hugged him. It was quick but it got the attention of the drunken bastards at the other booth. " 'Yeah, Brayden! Thanks for being so easy to manipulate!' " But Brayden couldn't care less about the voices right now. All that mattered was Katherine and the fact that she hugged him. Brayden didn't get a chance to hug her back but that was fine. "She loves you, Brayden..." "I'll see you around then?"

"I sure hope so."
A part of Kitty was wondering if she had accidentally given him the wrong idea, but that was just silly, the had only just met! He seemed so delicate to her, she hoped that she would see him again soon just to check that he was okay.
"Maybe we can have lunch sometime."

She definitely felt it too. He could tell now. This wasn't just him. The voice was right, for once. "Your treat?" Brayden teased, starting to head toward the exit. "This is going to be amazing, Brayden. Being in love with her. Maybe then you can forget about what happened." "Maybe.." "Hopefully.." Even he felt a bit creeped out by him talking to the voices in his head. He had always just listened and added his own thoughts but he never considered having conversations with his voices. But this voice he liked, this one he didn't mind talking to.. The others were so rude.

"In a way, it'll be yours, since I'll probably pay with this," Katherine giggled and pointed at the money he had given her before waving, "Bye, Brayden, see you soon!"
He was awfully sweet, she was glad that she had stopped to talk to him; she just hoped that she hadn't bothered him too much, as she could be very friendly and sometimes it was too much for some people.

Her giggle was so.. perfect. She was so perfect. Brayden smiled to himself, stuffing his hands in his pocket as he began to leave the restaurant. There was no way she couldn't have not felt the same way. "She feels the same way, Brayden. She loves you." Brayden knew that. It was just hard to accept that. He felt a bit guilty that she had settled for someone as lame and crooked as Brayden but she made him feel like he was worth something.. Like he was more than the boy who the crazy ass father that was also a crazy ass.

Kitty actually found herself rather bored once Brayden had exited the restaurant, and although she perched on the edge of a table to talk to the drunken men who had been glaring at Brayden and eyeing her up, the conversation wasn't half as enjoyable.

Once he returned home, Brayden couldn't stop thinking about Katherine. The voices in his head were still ranting about her too. "I still think that bitch only did it for the tip." "If you see her at Wholefoods, kick her ass!" "Those men were really creepy..." "I hope you didn't embarrass yourself, Brayden." "She was so nice.. So kind.. So beautiful... You need to see her again, Brayden!" Brayden sat down at his desk, picking up his notepad and a pen and began writing to his love, Katherine.

Katherine was left to shepherd the last few drunken stragglers from the restaurant before she was finally able to turn the sign that hung in the window to the side that read 'CLOSED'. Her waitressing might have been over for the day, hut the other staff had conveniently left, and so she had a mountain of dishes to clean as well as the tables to wipe down.

It all made sense now... Her coming up to him, sitting with him, comforting him, hugging him.. She loved him. Katherine loved Brayden. "Brayden, you have to tell her that you love her back! You can't let this opportunity pass you by!" Brayden agreed with his voice, if what they had truly was special then he just couldn't walk away from it. So he continued writing.. He wouldn't send it to her today.. Possibly not tomorrow.. He needed to make sure the letter was perfect.

As Katherine trotted around the deserted restaurant, singing under her breath to fill the silence, she thought back over her day. Meeting Brayden had been nice, he seemed like such a sweet young man who appeared to need a friend to boost his confidence; that had been her intention, really, to give him a confidence boost.
