Murder Game IV: Monokuma Rising

CHAPTER FOUR DEAD END
"A Dragon Consumed"

"Upuhehehe... Ahahahahaha!" In the silence that follow the voting chaos, Monokuma's laughter fills the warehouse. "Such drama! Such violence! Crash! Bang! Biff! Pow! You guys are a total menace to society! And to think you all sit there and act like you're better than the traitors! What this is, what it really is when you think about it, is a game of survival. I hope you all think on that, as it seems our beary poor Punmaster hasn't noticed it!"

He brandishes a claw. "But perhaps she's simply lost the will to fight after you all called for the execution of her sister. It was that nosy detective who was behind that... perhaps you guys are right about this vote after all! But, really, is this world any worse off with one less detective in it?"

Monokuma shrugs, pulling out his device. "Anyway, the votes are locked in! Blondie is about to recieve the opportunity to see her sister again!"

Everyone's IDs flash to life, showing--

Yang, standing amongst you in the Warehouse. You see her from above, as if a camera is hovering over her. A mechanical hand suddenly wraps around her, pulling her into the dark depths of the city...

A slot machine then appears on screen, scrolling between each and every one of you. Eventually it stops on Yang's face three times in a row. The text below says...

INNOCENT

Too bad! Yang isn't a traitor! Oh well, maybe you'll get one next time!

... Monokuma is laughing.

On your screens appears an oddly familiar sight...

What? That's not Yang at all! The camera eventually pans, showing Yang standing in the forest. Dark and foreboding trees surround her. She spots Ruby fighting beyond the line of trees, off in the distance. It doesn't make any sense, certainly... Ruby was supposed to be dead! Still, who could say? For all Yang knew, this was the afterlife.

But afterlife or not, she had to stop what was happening. She couldn't let history repeat itself. She had to save Ruby.

Yang Xiao Long springs forth, rushing through the bush at a breakneck pace. Branches and thorns whip at her body and her face, doing their best to deter her. Of course, nothing's going to stop this yellow blur!

... Spoke too soon, it seems. The forest rapidly shifts, a wall of thorns being thrown up to block Yang's path. With no way around in sight, the girl simply chooses to bash at the wall of thorns with her fist. Her boxing gloves quickly detoriate, and soon Yang's punches are producing blood-- her own blood.

The nasty Monokuma creatures that had been attacking Ruby now approach Yang from behind, emerging from the darkness. She doesn't seem to notice them, her focus wholely on smashing through the thorn wall.

But, something odd happens. Something that none of you have seen before during an execution. Monokuma has allowed Pretty Boy to enter whatever strange area this is taking place. You all look up to find that he's missing from the warehouse, his intention to stop this execution clear.

With grim determination, Pretty Boy breaks from the darkness and runs forward. Ghosts split from his body to engage the Monokuma monsters as Pretty Boy attacks the thorn wall with his knife. Finally noticing something else outside of her laser-guided focus, Yang turns her head. She and Pretty Boy share a quick glance before continuing their assault on the wall.

But it's useless. Perhaps they both knew this from the very beginning. Still, they continue to fight, even as their limbs turn to jelly from exhaustion. The Monokumas make short work of the ghosts, prompting Pretty Boy to step forth to defend Yang. Of course, he's thrown aside easily.

Turning to meet her attackers, Yang can only stare. Her hands a broken and bloody mess, her body drained of energy, Yang is forced to do little more than wait as the monsters pounce on her.

The Ultimate Punmaster is executed.

When it's all over, Monokuma gives a big sigh. "Nice try!" he says, as Pretty Boy is deposited back into the warehouse. He's battered and bruised, horribly injured after his time in what could only be described as the 'execution chamber'. "Goodness! So much drama! You guys should have your own Reality Television show!" The bear brings his paws to his chin, grinning. "You guys were so close with that one! You were right, that murder could not have been done with just a single person... because it wasn't! But all this talk of the president being able to duplicate himself or the monkey and his witch being attached at the hip is so boring!"

"The murder was done by multiple people, because it turns out there's more than a single traitor remaining!"

Monokuma laughs, before looking down at Pretty Boy's damaged body. "... You look awful," Monokuma says. "I think you might need a doctor, even! I know just the guy!"

An ambulance comes screeching into the room. Out comes a second Monokuma, this one wearing a stethoscope. "Just call me by my second name!" he exclaims. "Doctor Death!"

There's little any of you can do while Pretty Boy is picked up and dropped on a gurney. He's wheeled into the ambulance. It's about to leave, but suddenly something new occurs--

A giant man rushes into the warehouse, flanked by a couple of armed men. They aim their guns at your group. Isabela comes up behind them, saying, "Don't even think about retaliating." She holds what appears to be a device with a button in her hand. "We've rigged this place with explosives, one wrong move, and we're all gone."

Then, she spots what she wants. "Him." With her free hand, she points to the man you guys met in the Quarantine Area, Nick Ramos. "Give us him, and we'll go without anyone getting hurt."

But before anyone can comment, yet another group of intruders arrive. The descend from the roof of the warehouse on ropes. You spot the glasses and blond hair of Thomas, the leader of the True Eye cult. "I believe we want the immune one as well!"

"What the hell?!" exclaims Nick. "I don't want to go with either of you!"

Isabela looks concerned now. "You don't understand. We're working toward a cure! Months of research has been destroyed, but we can get it all back if we just had your blood!" Nick stares at her, considering this. He could be the cure? He could save the world?

But Thomas is having none of it. "I'm afraid that we can't let that happen." He pulls out a gun and aims it at Nick's head. "The virus was a punisment. A cleansing. To reverse that can only be the work of demons."

Jack was the one holding the ID yet again for him and Wuya to see what was happening or happened. Jack took a breather it seemed knowing him nor Wuya was the next victim. He didn't know the girl who died but felt sorry for her. He looked to Wuya then he looked to the one who asked for the man Nick which he meet earlier first it was the doctor who he deiced was insane then some strange man. Soon right after being given a warning to give Nick up or die someone shoot a bullet. Which made the first shots fired. 'Great...' Jack thought his next move to help him was simple. He held thee monkey staff and then stated. "Monkey Staff." This turned Jack Spicer once more into Monkey Jack Spicer.

Wuya looked at the ID that Jack held. She watched the events unfold. 'Well there goes another innocent which means slowly we will be out numbered by the traitors. Just great.' She thought then Wuya heard talk of giving up the man Nick which she meet not long ago she looked at the ones asking. Then she heard a bullet he immediate reaction was not caring what Jack said but she to held a staff what it's powers where she had no idea. She did know how to use her own magic so she made sure to be ready to move at any moment.

Isabela looks concerned now. "You don't understand. We're working toward a cure! Months of research has been destroyed, but we can get it all back if we just had your blood!" Nick stares at her, considering this. He could be the cure? He could save the world?

But Thomas is having none of it. "I'm afraid that we can't let that happen." He pulls out a gun and aims it at Nick's head. "The virus was a punisment. A cleansing. To reverse that can only be the work of demons."​

Tch, what a pain. It looks like my initial deduction was right. There really is more than one, but did the bear mean it was a strict duo, or was there really two more? Regardless, that'll teach me to take the word of a bear. In any case, I'm not dead... yet. So I still have another possible go at it. Perhaps Mr. Castle and I could team up against everyone else. This game of wits is not my specialty, Kotomine thought to himself, more concerned with ending this uncomfortable situation than he was with the fact that he was responsible for ending an innocent life. And then it all happened. Before he knew it, Pretty Boy was taken away from them, and then by the time they were back in the warehouse, two factions had surrounded them. The scientists and the cultists. Both armed and dangerous.

"Wha--?!" Kotomine uttered in surprise, caught off-guard. It was perfectly timed, as if meticulously orchestrated by the damned bear. If he were a lower rank of Executor, he'd be with his kevlar, which would render him extremely difficult to kill with bullets, and even then, he'd dodge most of them, but alas, he was not the youthful and energetic Kirei Kotomine from ten years ago. Even if he still fancied himself fairly powerful and competent, he had grown old and weaker compared to his younger self, but now, that was besides the point.

All he could do was wait for an opportunity to make itself present, and then he would strike.

Off in the distance, you both spot an adult male, who you reason could only be Mr. Hoffman.

Beside him is another young girl, but she looks absolutely defeated, her head down and her poise suggesting slight fear around Hoffman.

"Hurry!" says Hoffman, ushering the girl along. "Hurry, Clara! We must find my fish!" Clara only nods weakly. She flinches when Hoffman puts a hand on her shoulder. "Clara... Don't worry. Just do as I say, okay?"

The two walk off, disappearing into the darkness.

Ruby had zoned out for a moment, lost in thought, but when she had snapped out of it, she wasn't sure where everyone else had gone, she looked around briefly before deciding to run off towards that room she'd visited last time... Mr Hoffman's room if she remembered correctly she could remember the general direction the room was, and upon finally reaching it, she just barely heard the muffled voice of Mr. Hoffman declaring to Clara they should find his fish. As soon as the voices faded, Ruby burst into the door in a semi-dramatic fashion "What did I miss?" she asked curiously, seeing as some of the group was there thankfully.

Despite your efforts, Nick is shot between the eyes. Thomas follows soon after him, and the entire building is plunged into chaos. Isabela's men fire on the cultists, and the cultists return fire. Your group is caught in the crossfire. Stray gunfire claims the lives of Zane Bowerstone, Adain Lee, and Zer0.

He didn't want to survive, without her he had nothing left...
He didn't protest against the doctor, and he didn't even bother to open his eyes, all he knew is that he wanted to keel over and die himself, at least then he could be with Yang again...

"Where are you taking me?" he asks the bear "A grave wouldn't be too bad...but I doubt you'd be so kind as to see me to one of those" he says, coughing weakly as he notes he lost the knife he was using

"Ugh...just my luck" he murmurs as he looks to the bear "I lost one of the only things she gave me..."

"We're taking you to where you'll be safe and healthy!" says MonoDoctor, AKA Doctor Death. Sudden gunfire is heard outside, but Doctor Death doesn't seem too concerned. He starts up the ambulance. "You ready?"

Ruby couldn't help but feel like she had forgotten about something when she had zoned out, and when she saw the strange humanoid shape under the covers, she couldn't help but grow curious. However, just then, she remember what she had forgotten, Jennifer! She was supposed to be heading to that elevator with her, looking around at the others with an embarassed look on her face, she spoke "Oh! Silly me, I forgot I had something to, I'll be right back when I can, bye!" she said quickly, dashing down the hall as fast as she could, this time, she concentrated as hard as she could, attempting to increase her speed in an effort to catch up to Jennifer before she reached that lift she was going to, she hoped she'd make it there in time...

Ruby looked quite surprised, but she nodded "It's ok... I forgive you!" she said, smiling cheerily, but an interested look crossed her face when she heard what Amanda said next "Wait... Who made you do it?" she asked curiously, maybe it was all part of this game... To see who'd be lucky enough to make it out of this place, but she wasn't too sure, though considering how many people arrived here after the last "scavenger hunt" was over, she couldn't help but wonder who else would arrive with them. Maybe she'd finally see her sister again? If that was the case, she didn't mind if she stayed here forever, but, how many others thought the same? She figured she'd at least try and figure this game out and help the others decide who'll go and who'll stay here...

Thousands of thoughts rushed through Kotomine's head as he struggled to process them all. The middle of battle was a dangerous one. Thoughts flew through his head as abundantly as the bullets did in this battlefield. Strategizing in the middle of a fight was a dangerous move, and even riskier when trying to balance it on top of other thoughts, like which side he should take, whether he should just kill them all, what it meant for them now that Nick was dead, etc.

The majority of the gunmen here don't really mean to harm us. They're mainly fixated on each other, so the bullets will be unpredictable. I can't predict so many bullets when the gunmen are so great in number and the patterns are unpredictable as a result of the fact that they don't even mean to hit me, Kotomine thought as he leaped to the side, getting a better perspective of the chaotic battlefield from there, Perhaps I'll make my way from behind the cultists and create a shield with their bodies. If the scientists prove to be an annoyance even after that, I'll dispatch them as well.

And that was precisely what he did. The deft priest expertly dashed over behind the cultists, intending to slay them right there. Fixating himself on his targets, he made his move.

He jabbed the pressure point of one of the cultists from behind, before grappling the target over him, resulting in the poor man landing on the ground with a harsh thud, before being knocked unconscious with a swift blow straight into the face that would cause a small degree of brain damage.

One.

Next target. Kotomine proceeded to grab the arm of his next target with a deadly grip that threatened to crush the cultist's arm, but before long, the priest proceeded to sweep the man off his feet, before stomping on his opponent's chest, using his Bajiquan to affect the insides, and concentrating his physical reinforcement magic into his foot for maximum damage to the heart.

When bullets begin to fly, he stumbles back in horror, before crouching down behind the ambulance. "Sang Sacre!"

Leia rushes into the warehouse, bringing Axel with her. She screams at the sight of what is happening, jumping beside Poirot to hide. With Kotomine and the others thinning the number of guns being fired, the airplane in the hangar suddenly starts to life. Leia's head jumps up, hitting the back of the ambulance. "Ow! I mean-- The part we need for the airplane, we found it! But how'd it get installed...?"

Amidst the fighting, a spotlight come down on the airplane. Its Monokuma, and he's wearing an pilot's hat. "I've fixed the plane, students! I suggest you all pile in before you become swiss cheese!"
