Millennium City Arc 1: Hotel California

  • Even though Snow had cut the ropes that tied Pieck to the bed she didn't jump into action like Mikasa and awaken from her slumber. Clearly a heavy sleeper she enjoyed every little minute she could get of shut-eye. Assuming she had died during the large ensuing fight among the Founding Titan, she tried to save the world and probably bought everyone enough time to clean up or follow her into the afterlife.

She turned over onto her side, enjoying the subtle tranquility of the situation until it hit her. If she truly had died then she would surely be in the Paths right now, and last time she was there Eren and Ymir didn't prepare her a room, a bed or loud music. Slowly rising to sit upright she swung her legs off of the beg and rubbed her eyes. With a tremendous yawn and stretch she opened her eyes only to be taken back by the stark change in Mikasa's appearance.

She yelped and raised her hands like she'd just seen a ghost, "Mikasa!?! W-Why do you look so young all of a sudden?!" Pieck questioned the Ackermann before quickly patting herself down to check if she had also gotten several years younger. Extremely confused her eyes darted to Snow, looking her up and down to see if she would remember her from somewhere, was she one of the Azumabito?

"I'm Pieck. Me and Mikasa were just fighting the Founding Titan, do you recall dying or have we all just been pulled into the Paths again?" Pieck inquires to Snow.

  • Status:

    Healthy:
Pieck has no injuries and isn't ill.

    Current Equipment:

    N/A:

    Current Abilities:

Regeneration: Pieck, like all other Titan Shifters, has the ability to automatically regenerate any wounds sustained and even entire limbs. The process is not instantaneous and it can take several hours to regenerate limbs. This ability is also dependent on Pieck's will to live, heavy doubts and lack of confidence can stop this ability from functioning.

Regeneration Withdrawal: Pieck possesses the ability to consciously control her regenerative ability, keeping it "off" to prevent injuries from blowing her cover as a Titan Shifter.

If this was a cartoon Lupin would have bright flashing dollar bill symbols in place of his eyes, his face lighting up like a child in a candy store over the realization that his jackpot was in fact real gold. Thoughts circled his head over what luxurious goods he might buy, what food he might eat or what women he might find interested in such wealth however the main thing resting In his mind was the oddity of the markings or lack of, he's seen gold bars before all around the world but non had such a simple F on them.

"You can have one if-" his celebrations were cut off short as the door came off his hinges in response to Mercer's immense strength tearing it apart, almost dropping the gold bar in his hand which was held out in Mercer's original location. Of course he wasn't planning on just leaving such wealth behind so what would any logical man do in such a situation? He untucked his shirt and stuffed all 12 of the gold bars under his shirt, making himself look 12 weeks pregnant whilst holding it up with his left hand. His right hand reached for his trusty Walther P38 and awkwardly ran towards the door and aimed and shot his towards anything on the ceiling or walls which could be shot down onto and possibly injure the murderous combatants.

Snow looks at Piek. Great. A sleepyhead.

"I have no idea what you are talking about. The last thing I remember is fighting a NULL called the 'dragon' but...I don't think I died. I think it was a draw.."

Snow looked all over her body for injuries and sighs with relief if she doesn't see any. It would also appear that Piek knew the Mikasa person. But Piek isn't dressed in uniform? Maybe she was a lover or something? Snow was a little curious on their relationship as well as this 'founding titan'. Mikasa did mention the place to cut them was on the back of their neck as well. That would be good to keep in mind in case any of those 'titans' showed up.

"I don't know what the 'paths' are but wherever we are we aren't in our own 'places' I do not remember being hired to kill 'titans' or knowing of any such term being used before. Now, Piek, your associate here is armed with swords and some sort of gear, what are you armed with? There is around twelve or more entities outside the door...It also sounds like they are engaging something. It seems someone went with the loud way out. I'd say that changes things slightly. We could join them and that could probably improve the odds of a loud assault or we could remain discreet and look for a vent. But I'm not sure if you'll fit"

Snow motions to Mikasa's ODM gear.

"I'm alright with either option though.."

Snow stares at the door for a second

"You know. On second thought maybe we should take a stealthy way out. There are too many to fight and that person who just kicked down their door should be overwhelmed soon. Look around for any vents. If it comes to it you'll probably need to take off your equipment and drag it behind you"

Snow started talking and searching for a vent at the same time looking in the upper corners of the room for any vents

The great warrior would wake up energized as if a bolt of electricity ran though him from the top of his head to his legs. Looking around he would be blinded by a bright neon blue light dissipating though a gas. Two sliding doors open would open before him and he would be greeted by a dark room, only illuminated by the lights of the "VITA-CHAMBER" lighting it up. Moldy walls, uninspired colours, carcinogenic cleaning supplies stored here in the open...

This was definitely the homeland of his friend Ken Masters in some sort of hotel clearly. Walking up to the door and familiarising himself with the environment he would find the door, hearing a myraid of cackling and the clear sounds of gruesome fighting. His experience as a fighter letting him guess about 60 odd combatants outside.

Hank J. Wimbleton

Physical Status:
Still as fine as normal

Mental Status:
"Someone's having a fight without me?"

Ah, the sounds of freedom… Hank can already see it. Once he finally gets through that door that was locking him in 'ere with Spiky, and taking care of the ones who had put him here in the first place, he could already imagine himself being back to the empty Nevadan desert, looking up at the crimson red sky (which used to be normal, until he went ahead and killed the sun when it grew a body and some limbs back some time ago)… Hank can already imagine himself going back to his job of murdering poor helpless agents and grunts while taking care of the AAHW. He could even imagine getting revenge on that zombie clown around town, Tricky… with Hank imaging himself slicing and dicing that clown into enough pieces that not even they can revive from it, and as they laid in pieces on the floor, Hank went goes ahead to grab a good ole victory hotdog from a hotdog vendor nearby.

At least, Hank was imaging all of this… un-

Bonk

And that's when Hank's head had bumped against something when he finally got close to the nightstand, with Hank just standing back up to his full height as he wondered what the fuck just happened. Looking around, Hank shrugged before moving his hand towards the key in order to snatch it, only to encounter some sort of 'wall' around the drawer. Even as he tried multiple other directions of grabbing the key… it just seemed like that he couldn't get past this invisible wall!

"Who the fuck puts one of possibly the only keys here to this room… behind a invisible barrier of all things? I wanna meet the jackass who did this just so I could show them why this was a bad idea… and not in a harmless way."

Hank said to himself as he grumbled a bit quietly to himself. He was then knocked out of his grumpy state by Spiky announcing something… apparently that toy visor thing or whatever seemed to have not only detected people in the hallway (that one was fuckin obvious), but also other individuals within rooms. Hank didn't understand why they said "power level signatures" as well… what was this, some sort of kid's game or cartoon? What even is a 'Power level' supposed to mean here? How crappy one is? Eh, he doesn't need to focus on that as much, considering he saw Spike just casually flew up into the air and went ahead to one of the vents in the ceiling.

Hank wasn't as 'disturbed' when seeing such, well… as 'disturbed' Hank could actually get. The only other person he knew that could fly back in Nevada was once again, holy prick in the halo, Jebus. This meant that Spiky at least had some sort of power involved when it wasn't as obvious currently… he'll probably keep a close eye in order to ensure Spike doesn't get the drop on him if they were to ever become hostile. And just when Hank was about to jump all the way up to the ventilation shaft and enter it… he certainly heard some noises out in the hallway.

It seems like there was a horde of zeds out there finding some poor sod to munch on. And as much as Hank would rather enter the vent for now and figure out another way across… he couldn't simply let a opportunity like this to go down, especially if something is out there drawing there aggro. Locked doors be damned! Hank thought to himself, as he slowly approached the door once again, before raising his foot into the air, and slamming it against the door, right next to the door knob directly to its side.

Proper way of kicking a door, if he recalls correctly. Either way, with his strength enhancing the kick, he was definitely expecting to kick down the door in one swing, and if that don't work… he'll kick it again! And if that don't work as well… Hank just went ahead to grab one of his Mini Uzis' and shot twice at the lock mechanism for the door before putting the gun away. He may be ruining a perfectly good door, but doors be damned when there is a fight ahead. Hank was definitely still on his guard tho… most likely to be swiped at by something as soon as he exits the door… so it's time to nut up and shut up.

Without consulting his new found floating teammate the mercenary would do as the mercenary would and kick the door down, unfortunately despite him clearly being able to do so it would probably fail due to some eldritch power finding enjoyment in his failing. Either way, the second more annoyed kick would get the work done of kicking the lock out and open the door.

He definitely caught the crossed by surprise with that entrance, allowing him to dome multiple of them resulting in them tripping. But he looked as some of them that didn't just die continued to move despite the debitalating gun shots, smiling and trying to rush him. For these few moments he was definitely keeping them away, but he felt like they would just rush him despite their bodily harm.

Alex Mercer

And just like that, he was swarmed. Visions of thousands of memories of the infected in the streets came to mind. But their close proximity was probably a mistake. Lots of open wounds. Easy to consume. Contamination wasn't an issue, as Mercer himself was already tainted meat. So, when he was stabbed, he'd grab the attacker, attempting to literally punch through his head and consume him. For the woman attempting to take a chomp out of him, Mercer would let her, tendrils lashing out of the open wounds and stabbing into her mouth.

If all went to plan, the duo attacking him would give him enough biomass to handle the crowd in the hall. If not, as long as enough of him survived, he'd be able to reconstitute later. He...hoped.

"Here they come!"

Mercer roared to Lupin, gesturing with his arm to the other things rushing at him down the hall.

Hana huffed in irritation. This chick in her bed wouldn't get up, and all hell was breaking loose outside. She double-checked the lock to make sure she recognized the key when—if—she found it. "What's this?" she whispered to herself, twisting the tiny knob. When she did that, she tried the doorknob itself, and sure enough, it turned. "Shit... how crude."

She could hear intelligible speech from down the hall—someone yelling. She swung out to lay eyes on her targets, quickly isolating the obvious monsters with cross-shaped rashes and mangled forms. These were different from the zombies in the fishing village.

Hana aimed one of her handguns and fired, aiming for the freaks' heads. Her unfamiliarity with this place played against her; she'd have to kill them all if she wanted to explore this place and find her way out... not that she was opposed to that.

At the same time, her neighbor had the right idea. She knew not who the tactical operative was, but introductions would have to wait until they didn't have a common enemy. Hana gave him a wink to acknowledge him, then maneuvered the other pistol to blast the stubborn ones assailing him.

When compared to Hana, Bobby was a lot slower to wake up. Woken by her compatriot shaking the bed violently, Bobby was discombobulated, for lack of a better word. The lady next to her was quicker to her feet than Bobby. She rubbed her head as if she had woken up from a hangover. The first thing she noticed was the gravity of the situation, literally. "Gravity... we're on a planet", she muttered to herself as she collected her bearings. Bobby was still in her power armour. Her helmet, however, was on the bedside table.

"Where are we? Who are you?" The other girl seemed a lot calmer than her, so she knew what was going on or was crazy. Before the other girl could answer, Bobby's ears picked up some sounds from outside the door, she had heard enough fights to know what it sounded like. Immediately she reached for her helmet, Bobby plugged it on, and her HUD slowly powered up...

Mark III Goliath Armour powering up...
....
....
Welcome, Gunnery Sergeant Roberta Draper

"Run a diagnostic scan."
Running diagnostic scan...
....
....
Running at reduced performance.
Power... low
Ammo... low
Life support... failing

"Shit"
She clenched her fists, jostling her arms in a weird motion that engaged two separate wrist-mounted mini-guns. "For the record, I'm Bobby, and from here on out, I'm taking command." Hana would only see a blue tint on Bobby's face; she seemed deadly serious, "Get ready for whatever's on the other side of that door." However, as if someone had pressed fast-forward on a movie Hana and the room around her sped up for a moment, and Hana was already outside fighting whatever was in the corridor. Bobby felt nauseated, her armour injecting a mild adrenaline shot to get her back up to speed with whatever the commotion was outside.

Making her way out of the room she analysed the hallway and the threats at hand and before she could properly analyse the situation her combat training kicked in. Raising her right arm her wrist mini-guns spun for a second before finally opening fire on the same targets Hana was shooting at, whatever it was sure it couldn't survive a burst from her wrist guns, right?

Amidst the chaos, Bobby again attempted to speak to her 'partner', unsure if her last comments were heard due to her recent, 'episode' of whatever the hell that was. "I'm... I'm Bobby" She spoke between shots, "What in the hell is going on?"

Hana breathed a sigh of relief as her roommate came to her aid in the firefight. It was astounding how quickly 16 rounds went, even for a seasoned shooter. She needed an upgrade.

Hana ducked beside the doorway to reload, giving the woman a clearer shot. "Bobby, huh? I dunno much more than you, just that these harlequin babies started a cannibal holocaust in the hallway," she retorted over the deafening buzz of minigun fire before depressing the slide release on each pistol. The slides then flew forward, bringing the guns into battery. The mercenary raised her voice to include the masked Uzi wielder. "Name's Hana, by the way. Are you two military?" She didn't seem even slightly intimidated by the two.

"Time to burn off some of that pent off energy I have stored up!"

The Saiyan lifted off the ground as the strange black suited man kicked the door twice and as the door fell, came the insane cross burned creatures out in the hallway.

Normally, the Saiyan would have a blissful fight being the
ever-living crap out of any enemy, but in this fight, he decided to test the waters to see if anything changed.

A bluish ki blast formed in the Saiyan's hand and he threw it straight at one of the cross-faced creatures aiming for the black suited man's face. Something was off. He wasn't able to expand as much energy as before, he wasn't as strong as before. Something was telling him he was biting off more than he can chew here.

The Saiyan lifted to the air and frowned. Should he leave his would-be "partner" here to die with the others? Or should he play a hero with a bunch of strangers around here.

He had no time to debate as he flew up the open vent he took off earlier and took the path out.

Ryu opened the door and stepped through, still very confused as to where he was and why he was there. The Wandering Warrior had never really used these kind of services. He was always on the move or sleeping in a forest or temple. Nevertheless, this place exuded treachery. Something was going on, and Ryu had a feeling he would have to do much more than just find the exit to escape this dark and dreary prison.

"Hello? Where am I?" Ryu called out in an attempt to draw the other fighters' attention. Was that cackling he heard?

A festival of carnage was painting the walls of this beige boring hall way red just as it was accompanied by the ecstasy filled laughs of the majority of the participants all in thanks to the new participants.

Mercer was in his element any damage being done to him he would just absorb the crazed people and consume them free of chance of infection. Though it was strange how he felt that some gun rounds were hitting his body mass and the amount of crazy people charging him would get to the point where he might actually get toppled over. Though it wasn't like he could suffocate.

Lupin was doing decently staying behind the body horror show that was his teammate, shooting the head off of anyone trying to get in the room since it was probable that Mercer had it handled.

The tag team of Hana and Bobby was also doing relatively well, the armoured suit basically made the latter impervious to damage and Hana's expertise allowed her to kill very efficiently, but as she was taking cover behind the doorway she would feel a hand grab her ankle. A deranged half disfigured smiling man 75% of the way of passing gripped her ankle incredibly hard, his long unkept nails making a surface bleed on her skin.

Hank was already used to being swarmed and these guys were easy pickings considering how okay with being domed by automatic guns they were, covered in the blood of his enemies maybe this was his happy place.

The Saiyan warrior would fly up the vent and he would see two long vents, north and south with exist panels going down about the same distance in either direction.

@Hahli Nuva

On the other side of the door Ken would hear the very familiar carnage of fighting, a loud wet thud against the door came next as he heard a joyous voice;

"You're at the best place in the world boy, come on out and have fun with the rest of us!"

(I'm Ryu, not Ken.)

Ryu took a moment to gaze upon the hectic nonsense that was the current theme of this group apparently. He had no time for pointless nanter and none of these greaseball scrappers looked like they'd be any kind of challenge for him. Not wanting to waste time, Ryu decided to move on,, making his way through the room.

"I'm sorry. I don't have time for games right now."

Just as Mikasa started to look around, the other woman had just woken up. However, what came next was a rather bizarre experience. Not only did she apparently knew her, but she apparently knew her from later on in her life...

Despite having never heard of her before.
Despite having never seen her before.
Let alone having spoken to her.

"What are you--"

The tired woman then proceeded to introduce herself as Pieck. She mentioned something about her and Mikasa fighting a "Founding Titan"...

Founding Titan? All she really knew was the Armored, Colossal, and Female Titans, as well as Eren's own Titan form. But the Founding Titan? What the hell was a Founding Titan? Was it the originator of the Titans as her kind knew them?

And then she mentioned Paths. Suddenly, thousands more questions popped in her head, each increasingly more confused than the last. Eventually, she shook her head, taking a deep breath, and just focusing on the one question Pieck had specifically asked her.

"I have not the slightest clue, but what I can say is, I remember running in the hall with my friends when I was crushed by Annie, the Female Titan."

As for the rest of the situation, things were apparently starting to get a lot messier outside. But Snow and Mikasa were busy looking for various paths to take, preferably one stealthy enough to take. When Mikasa discovered what looked like a piece of the wall creasing inward, she raised an eyebrow. Then she reached with one of her blades, trying to see if she could maybe peel part of it off.

Bobby had noticed other people in the hallway who also joined their fight against what could only be described as mutants. At a first glance she thought nothing of it, but the powers some of these people held were quite literally unnatural. She decided to ignore it, for the time being, they first needed to deal with the immediate threat before moving on.

Ammo reserves running low...
A dimly lit warning flashed on her screen as she finished her latest burst of rounds. Soon she was going to have to engage in close-quarters combat, she was confident her armour would suffice but was unsure of how efficiently she could dispatch these mutants with power systems low. During her inner monologue, she caught the scene of her 'partner', Hana, being grabbed by the ankle, and the sight of blood caught her eye. Bobby had now gone straight into her natural-born leader role, she was now responsible for Hana's health, as Hana would also be responsible for hers, and right now she seemed like the best she'd get.

Bobby stomped her foot down on the disfigured man that attacked Hana, in the same motion she pushed Hana into the room,
"New plan. I'll cover the door, my armour will protect me, you shoot past me at the... whatever these are." She stood in the doorway, anything that wanted to get into the room they had woken up in would have to get through her, and she liked her odds. "We can worry about injuries after we are safe." Basic procedure kicked in, she just hoped Hana obliged and didn't make this more difficult than it already was.

Having been grabbed by her ankle with a vice grip, Hana grimaced and kicked her attacker in the face with her other foot. The impact, along with her partner's stomp, shook the freak loose, so Hana pointed a pistol at his head and pulled the trigger twice, nearly destroying his brain completely. "I'm okay; shallow scratch," she noted after glancing at the tiny lacerations.

"Good plan," Hana huffed with a quick nod in response to the orders given. Seeing this soldier knew what she was doing, the merc did oblige. With Bobby covering, Hana went prone and aimed through a gap at the encroaching infected. First came a shot to the kneecap to topple one, then one to the head to finish the job. Reloading was easier this way; she could simply reload one gun while still firing the other and then swap.

Looking out the room as the carnage was going on outside both of them would notice that other than the door, there was definitely something going with the wall opposite of the door. Ever the fearless warrior Mikasa would walk forward and pull away the barely stuck on wallpaper to reveal a closed window, covered by what looked like blotches of paint on the other side as if there was a painting on it from that side.

Alex Mercer

Despite Mercer's best efforts, he could not get completely free.....until now. The extra bio-mass of the bodies being fed to him slowly continued to increase his capabilities, until he could finally break free! With tendrils of flesh being diverted to his right arm, Mercer would swing it out, bisecting the few bodies that were left in his area. After standing tall, the man would be revealed to have completely changed his right arm into a blade of sorts. Though...he felt like he couldn't hold it for long. Something was wrong.

Pushing that aside, Mercer would keep on the defensive. The few rounds that made their way into his body had their intended effect, some even staggering him. But the flesh would always knit itself back together, and he'd go back to fighting.

There were newcomers too. Others who were in the same circumstance, fighting these monsters. The collateral damage they inflicted was tolerable, since he could take it. Though, Mercer figured he might have to kill them too. His abilities were anything but normal, and it wasn't much of a stretch to consider him cut from the same cloth as these mutants.

Indeed, it wasn't going to be an escape without some sort of alternative part to take. That said, she was starting to wonder whether it was a good path to take, or a trap set by the cultists. She had the blades out, of course, just in case the window was a set-up for far, far worse.

So she tried to find a way to open that window.

"There are other people on the other side. Most likely within the same situation as us. It would be advised to be amicable and work together at the least."

Snow spoke with confidence as if she peered behind the cover herself.

"There is a man engaging with multiple fleshy entities. There is no quiet way out. There are two men in general."

The samurai lady draws her sword. It glistens in the light and refracts it giving off a mini prism rainbow effect.

"It's not my usual weapon but its what I woke up with. Ready yourself, Mikasa, and get the unarmed one ready too."

Snow spoke quickly before moving to the covered window and punches through it; following the blow through and stepping into the next room. She addresses both of the men in the room but pays particular attention to the one fighting the monsters.
