"My name is Tsukabasa Korincho, and I am here with my brother in some ancient alien relic about to make the scientific find of the century..."

The Story:

The year is Galactic Standard 722. The wounds of the last major war leave scars that still heal as scientific advancement pushes into the wounds left. Inside the Human Quadrant however old vaults of the elder races are disturbed in the name of Manifest Destiny. Over the past few weeks inside the Sirius Republic, one of Humanities major powers, Ships have been disappearing as well as small outpost losing contact all approaching one planet, Kenston IV.

Yesterday a "bombing" occurred in the capital of the planet, Kenston Prime, as a strange red mass was retrieved from the crater. Today the mass is at the Kenston Military Research Facility where it will be identified on what it is. Today is the day that Humanity faces it's greatest threat.

The Setting:

-First off inter-stellar travel is common place as well as various uses of FTL drives. While this takes place mostly inside the Human Quadrant aliens are more than welcome however would be the minority.

-Technology is highly advanced almost up to Nanotechnology. Moving to a new system is like moving to a new house today. Military makes use of multiple combined arms tactics (Mecha, Tanks, Jets, Power Armor, Armored Vehicles, etc)

-Psychics are rare and powerful and will require the use of a Trait (See below) as well as consulting me before hand. I would prefer to keep their numbers to a minimum as they will probably be under the most stress during the RP.

-If you choose to be an Alien it is up to you to describe the race along with your character. One may be a blood thirsty killer from a race of pacifist or a noble warrior from a race of slavers. If you need help I will gladly help expand upon them.

The Rules/Guidelines:

Genre: Sci-fi, Drama, Military, Horror, Space.

Rating: PG-13+. Things should keep a rather serious tone as some may qualify this as a potential horror sci-fi also. I do allow Sex and Gore and will probably wind up using them also but these are not the focuses of this RP. Oh and yes...There WILL be blood.

#1: Have fun. Seriously if you can't have fun during this then either tell me or do some soul searching. If you try and ruin the fun of others then I will kindly ask you to GTFO. Brings me to rule 2

#2: Keep it relatively serious. This isn't one of my funny RPs so keep it on a somewhat serious level. Yes I enjoy humor and use it often. No I don't want it to overrun this RP like a flood.

#3: Do not make a godly race. Trust me on this, The more overpowered and godly you make your character the more I'll want to have it crushed in an accident. Use your common sense.

#4 Use common sense. If you need help on this one you are beyond my abilities.

Players: I would prefer keeping the number of characters in the single digit. Albiet my usual cut off is around 15 so I doubt we will have a problem.

The Machines:

Machina. The ancient invention to which man became eternally attached to. The machines of this time are highly advanced pieces of technology mixed with the rugged backbone that mankind has shown across time. Machina come in many shapes and sizes however only military equipment now bear the Machina branding.

Everyone is recomeneded to have a Machina as they are vastly powerful and useful. They range from Power Armor to full blown Spacefighters.

Personality: Tsukabasa has a bit of an abrasive personality given everything he has been through.While he is usually calm and collective he is prone to rash activity with quickly thought up plans. He would rather solve most situations with a bullet or his fist however he does understand the need for plans. His friends however know that he is fully willing to give his life to protect those he cares for.

Dangerous - Tsukabasa will stop at nothing to get his revenge. This includes opening fire in his Machina in a civilian sector, Making rash headed attempts to defeat an enemy, and being banned from using any non obsolete Machina by the Sirius Republic. His hectic and hard hitting tactics however are capable of inspiring others to follow his plans.

Connected - Years of service in the Military and helping his family in their xenoarcheology has granted Tsukabasa many connections inside and out of the Human Quadrant. Tsukabasa has the ability to pull favors from certain oragnizations while others he simply has to use his fist for.

Personality: Calculating with a hint of OCD, Archanos has a tendency to freak whenever things don't go her way. Her attention to detail is what landed her a position as a Recon Lieutenant.

-Tunnel Vision: Because of her OCDness, Dani has a tendency to overlook the bigger picture. Often times Desolator has to remind her of the task at hand.

Background: A rookie Army officer recently promoted to Lieutenant for her high marks in Recon School. Dani was one of six daughters, seven if you count her transgender brother. Dani was raised by an auto mechanic who taught her the importance of attention to detail. This resulted in her becoming OCD in nearly all aspects of her life. She was approached by an Army recruiter after high school with the offer of gold, opportunity, and adventure. Dani joined for opportunity. Gold and adventure are just a bonus.

Personality: A 'man' of opposites, capable of great kindness and great cruelty. If his criminal record is to be believed to is one of the worst examples of scum the galaxy has ever had to offer, but it does not tell the whole story. He has never done anything he has seen as 'wrong' and seems to have a sense of honor, an d a strange sense of humor that never seems to dim, even in the most dire situations.

Innate Hazardous Environment Survivability:
The Vendar are a tough race that through selective breeding and genetic enhancements over centuries can survive in almost any environment, so long as there is an environment to survive in.

Grim Laughter:
Able to find amusement in any situation fear does not seem to effect him. This make him an inspiring leader amongst the pirates, able to get his men to face any enemy with a smile and to laugh in the face of death.

Background:

Exiled many years ago for treason, he hijacked the prison transport he was on and with the help of the freed convicts disappeared onto pirate space. His name has been heard sporadically since.
The crimes Glukar committed have never been revealed by his government, though he has never denied the charges and lived with pirates for a time before crash-landing on Kenston IV. His record shows several murders and robberies, acts of piracy and treason. there was rumored to be a large pirate base in the sector that went dark recently and it was listed as a possible hiding place, and the corvette that he crash landed in was heavily damaged and bore pirate insignia, and few bodies recovered also appeared to be pirates.

Background: Hanako's family is a pretty average middle class family-mother, father, and one daughter. Her dad works designing mecha, and her mom is a businesswoman at a company that..does something. Mostly her job seems to be getting other people to do their jobs. Hanako herself is in highschool, and does pretty well as a student. She has a boyfriend, and his family's distaste of her causes some grief. The fact that their (large, heaping hills of) money come from some shady dealings doesn't help.

Odin is where things get strange. It's her fathers' life's work-the model he has dreamed of for decades. But he isn't paid nearly enough to even begin making the thing, much less bring it to working order. Occasionally Hanako will come home to find strange men in suits talking to her parents about something that she isn't supposed to hear.

Her father is more focused on getting Odin completed than worrying about whatever ill effects his dealings may have, her mother worries about their safety, and her boyfriend Charles and his family object to whoever her dad is dealing with, but are silent on who they are and why they aren't liked.

Hanako has been learning how to pilot Odin in her free time, because it seems pretty cool. Her dad lets her use it for emergencies only-if the paint's chipped, she was out joyriding and gets an earful. If the left arm has half a dozen holes in the armor, clearly he needs to be thankful for still having a daughter.

Personality: Raven is known to be an aggressive, competitive, driven individual with a knack and a know how on machines. She can have quite a temper but she can also be a flirt and laugh things off as well. She has a dramatic flair for things, emphasized by the fact she gestures a lot, and isn't afraid to get down and dirty when she must. Raven can be unpredictable and seem insane at times, talking to herself or inanimate objects.

Traits(2):

Quick-thinking - Doc is not the type to sit around and weep over things. She will do what she has to in order to survive or respond to something that threatens her in anyway. Don't expect her to scream or weep her eyes out in times of stress and emergency. She'll be the one kicking ass when push comes to shove.

Engineering - If anyone knows their way around machines, it's Raven. She lives and breathes them and she always has a handy little fix-it kit on her at all times. She can repair most problems easily and quickly or at least improvise quick patches that will hold for a time.

Background: Raven was born an only child to a widow who had lost her husband to a freak accident months before the birth of her daughter. Her mother was a botanist who specialized in alien plants and they moved around constantly. Raven was homeschooled and never learned to make friends or social connections like other kids did her age. But she showed an aptitude for learning and researching, something that proved handy during her college years.

Raven enlisted in the military which helped to pay tuition and majored in engineering. She now works at military facilities, reverse engineering alien technology and creating some machines of her own for military use.

... Oh and for a few years after graduating from college, she was married to some hotshot military officer who just recently became an admiral somewhere or another. Her ex-husband's name is Travis Randall, an older man about 20 years her senior. She doesn't talk about him much but he likes to check on her often ... with her knowing!

Personality: Very arrogant, and very proud, believes he can do almost nothing wrong. Can be diplomatic, to a point, as long as it concerns him and his interests. Holds his piloting skills as the best of the best, but is above average truthfully.

Traits(2): Arrogance: Arrogance can be one of the worst traits in the world, but it can be great for a king and a pilot. He believes nothing can stop him, and follows through with everything he tries, taking rather life threatening risks to just prove his power. Of course, with the pluses, is the obvious setbacks of being arrogant. Being disliked, and branded as such will be commonplace with Sojobo.

Great Multi-tasking: Being the king, he has to think about many things at once, splitting his attention on several topics at once, and on the battlefield, it is no different. He's able to battle several opponents at once, making tactical situations at several people at once. Unfortunately, this means he has trouble focusing on one enemy for long periods of time, and has trouble focusing for long periods of time.

Background: On a planet not too far away from Kenston only a few days light speed travel, lived a small population of about 1 million people who have no name. However, they are in the same shape and likeness of the mythical Tengu from Japanese mythology, characterized by long noses, red skin, white hair, and the ability to fly. Coincidentally, the people live only in mountains, much like the mythos.

Sojobo was born into the royal family, and lived a life of royal pampering, the typical royal life. He began to have a feeling of noble superiority, touting his family blood to anyone who would listen, as he soon ascended to the throne, in the Trial of Kings. All of the prospective kings get into an arena, and fight to the death. Whoever is left is crowned the king. His sword that was used in battle is then coated in their steel that is exclusively found on their planet, said to never dull. He ruled for 50 Kenston years, making his planet prosperous but very profitable, but due mostly to the old king. In truth, he was not a great king, but only a good decision maker. Everything else that required poise and civility suffered. The people were happy, however.

The first human contact the Tengu's had was an emissary of Kenston, during Sojobo's 10th year of ruling. They informed them of their existence, their location, which dumbfounded the Tengu's at the time, and that they weren't alone in the universe. They wrote it off as just some spirit causing trouble, paying not much heed.

In Sojobo's 15th year of ruling, a unknown mech crash landed onto the planet, near the capitol city. Sojobo was the first one brave enough to search the mech, and found a dead human pilot in the mech. His people had never seen this kind of technology, and didn't know what to do with it. Sojobo ordered a hangar be built, and to research the mech as much as possible. Around his 50th year of ruling, they had learned how to control it, make one, and repair it. Of course, Sojobo knew all the details, and was chosen to be the first Tengu as they would soon be called, to venture to space.

They found on the mech a return to base function that would turn the automatic pilot to return to it's place of deployment, which happened to be Kenston. They understood that the man many years before was not lying, and they decided to use the function to make contact with the humans, as they did long ago. Sojobo set about his task to make contact with Kenston and the humans.

Ansgar Slobodan

Description: Ansgar stands just under six feet tall, with an average build, slightly on the thin side. He keeps his black hair cropped, and he has slate-grey eyes. All in all, he has a very paramilitary appearance. His clothing runs to cargo pants, tee shirts, and pilot-style leather jackets.

Personality: Wild and vaguely egomaniacal, Ansgar frequently operates outside the law. Or, more often, in the absence of law. An "Independent Contractor," he specialises in violently applied force, especially in situations where governments, corporations, or wealthy individuals cannot afford to be officially involved in an incident. Under the constraints of a finely-tuned plan, he is often the metaphorical spanner in the works. Given free rein, however, he is a master of his art. Most consider him to be completely amoral, and, by and large, they're right. He believes in living fast and hard, and morality would just get in the way.

Traits(2):
Action "Hero": Ansgar's preferred mode of operation is guns blazing. It's not that he doesn't think he can die; the thought just doesn't bother him much. Thus, he is willing to take the sort of risks that have lead some employers to refer to him as being "too crazy to kill."

Showboater: Ansgar is flashy and vaguely egomaniacal. He can't resist a dramatic entrance, and his antics tend to make people not take him seriously.

Background: Ansgar Slobodan was born on the planet Ragnarok in the Canis Majoris system. He, like most natives, was drafted into a regional militia within months following his 15th birthday. When war broke out between the militias, the conscripts were first in; in the first few months of fighting alone, he saw most of his close friends die. Nearly two years after the start of the war, the command staff of Ansgar's militia was eliminated, effectively ending them as a fighting force. Ansgar and several others took the opportunity to steal some paramilitary hardware and get the hell offplanet. While the others went to start new lives for themselves, Ansgar chose to do what he knew he was good at; fighting.

Ansgar acquired the X5N when Burch Technics hired him to retrieve it after it was stolen. They tried to stiff him on his fee, so he simply kept it.

Personality: Lance is a practical and logical thinker, though he doesn't completely ignore his emotions either. He prefers to operate inside the law, though knows that sometimes exceptions must be made. However, he always makes sure to set things right afterwards. FOr example, if he needs to have an agent infiltrate a drug ring, and results in the agent trafficing drugs, once the ring has been taken down, Lance will focus on bringing down other drug rings as repayment for his agent being directly involved.

Traits(2): Full prosthetic body (Ghost in the Shell style) - No healing. Wounds/damage must be repaired, with all but the most minor damages requiring specific gear rarely, if ever, found in the field; Offers increased reflexes, speed, strength, and senses, as well as man-machine interface; Numerous levels of high-end firewalls and defensive barriers, as well as counter-viruses, protect from hacking and virus attacks, though highly skilled elite hackers can still pose a threat, requiring Lance to retreat into his own cybernetic mind and combat the hacker/virus himself; Does not need to breathe or eat, and only requires two hours of charge time (charging is done via solar/kinetic power; lack of one of these increases charge time to four hours, and lack of both increases charge time to eight hours); While eating is not required, Lance will still usually eat one or two meals a day, as his sense of taste was included in his prosthetic model; Lance can still feel pain when damaged; In order to pilot the Pacifier, Lance sends his ghost into the mecha, and pilots it as he would control his prosthetic body; This means that if the Pacifier is damaged, Lance feels pain as if his body had been damaged.

Racial Background: The Candorians are a race of humans from the planet Candorii. They are almost exaclty the same as Earthlings, save for the fact that they have become nearly fully cyberized, with their brains being the only part of them that is still organic. Their planet has become one massive super-computer, with the cyber-minds, or ghosts, of the Candorians existing inside. When traveling to other planets, or interacting with other species, Candorians employ the use of full prosthetic bodies. The Candorian Nation controls 12 planets, 4 of which have been cyberized like Candorii, which are known as Mainframes. The remaining planets are known as Prosthetic Colonies, or PCs for short. PCs are used for one fo three things: 1) Conversion into a Mainframe, 2) A place to live for those who wish to live in prosthetics without total cyberization, or 3) Detention Planet, also known as Scrapyards. Around 150 years prior to the events on Kenston Prime, a slight alteration went into the Candorian's technology. Realizing that as a completely mechanical/cyber race they were highly susceptible to EMPs and other anti-electronic weapons/phenomena, the Candorians quickly developed a material that could still be used in their prosthetics and Mainframes, but proved to be highly EMP resistant. The material is known as Electrixia. While not entirely immune to EMPs and similar effects, it is highly resistant, allowing continued operation at 50% output. After roughly 1-2 hours, the effects of the EMP dissipate, and 100% operational capacity is restored.

Character Background: Lance Triello is relatively young as Candorians go. He was 'born' on a PC known as Tacitus III, one of the first PCs developed for Candorians wishing to live in full prosthetics. He grew up in the capital city of Kane, where his mother was a lawyer while his dad worked as a police officer. When he was ten years old, his father was killed by crossfire from a shoot-out between two rival gangs. From that moment on, Lance knew that he wanted, no, that he needed to be a police officer. After entering the Police Academy in Downtown Kane, Lance graduated at the top of his class, and quickly rose in the ranks, much to the suprise of his peers and colleagues, especially since he used out-dated equipment, for which he was often teased during his years in the academy and as a rook. It was three years ago that he was promoted to the rank of Inspector/Colonel. Since then, he has lead several investigations that have resulted in the capture and incarceration of some of the Candorian Nation's most wanted. Now, he has been tasked with investigating the bombing of Kenston Prime, along with the disappearances near Kenston IV, and determining if their source(s) pose any threat to the Candroian Nation.

Weapons:

Mk68 Twin-barrel Autocannon (Handheld in use, Stored on hip) 100 shots per drum, spare drums stored in legs. High-Rof and Low stopping power makes this weapon great for smaller targets.

Hi-sat Mk4 Plasma Rifle (Handheld in use, Stowed on back) 75 burst until capacitor needs replacement. Spares stored in hip binders. This abandoned weapon fires in burst of three with high damage and a quick cooldown time. Has reliability issues.

Ceti Mk33 Energy Blade (Handheld in use, stowed in forearm recharge racks) Variable time limit depending on setting. These adjustable energy blades are a standard issue to many Machina humanoid types. They are typically green in color but continue up to purple depending on the energy output. (Green -Standard Red-Weak Purple-Strong Blue - Strongest)

(Optional) Micro-Fission Missile Packs (Mounted on Shoulders/Back) 10 shots per pack, up to four packs. These additional armaments slow down the Machina while providing it with extra kick.

(Optional) Twin Energy Cannons (Mounted on Shoulders/Back) Unlimted shots but require a long cool down. These additional armaments slowdown the Machina while providing it with extra kick. Can be used in conunction with Missile packs.

(Optional) Giant Mk99 Killzone Bazooka (Requires both hands and uses a shoulder. Stowed on back) 10 shots per magazine, Extras stowed on legs/hip binders. This massive bazooka was designed specificically for the Heavy Armor Cyclops in mind. It's massive size prevents the mounting of missile packs on one side of the Machina and the use of the Energy Cannons entirely. Using a twin headed High-Explosive/Anti-Organic round makes this useful against all targets. Slow RoF, HIGH Damage.

Extras:
Hover-Jet System - Using combined Turbojets and Thrusters allows the Cyclops to hover just above the ground increasing it's speed greatly despite it's heavy appearance. This system is replaced in space with an entirely thruster based one allowing for similar speeds.

Full Armor - The 09FA has extra armor added to it to make up for it's old frame design. These plates have been changed from standard issue Tritanium to a much stronger Pyritium alloy.

Obsolete - Due to Tsukabasa having a notorious reputation the Cyclops is in fact 5 years obsolete being the only thing he was allowed to keep upon his discharge. He has tried to keep it up to date but some of it's systems are beginning to age and may no longer function.

-Arm Vulcan: M-61A4 20mm rapid fire cannon. Not intended to be used on heavy targets but it gets the job done for soft targets, inbound missiles, and infantry. The Depleted Uranium slugs it uses have come under fire from anti-war activists as they 'are toxic and cause cancer.' In truth the only disease they cause is death.
-EW-941 Pulse Cannon: Mounted in the chest cavity of the NRM-121 series, the EW-941 is a less lethal weapon used to disable electronic systems and allow the equipped unit to cover retreating units or disable a hard target long enough to deliver a killing blow.
-Rotor Blades: An innovation introduced in the NRM-121 series, the main rotor can be detached and used as a pair of swords for Close Quarter Combat.
Extras: The NRM-121/DSR III is a new innovation from ArmsTek Warfare Systems. Incorporating a Variable Geometry frame allows the DSR III a flexibility unmatched by conventional mecha. This particular model is optimized for reconnaisance, Electronic Warfare, and Intelligence gathering. That is not to say it cannot be used in direct action. All of ArmsTek's products have been built to hold their own in open warfare.

Weapons:

Right shoulder: Rocket launcher that fire a single armour piercing, or high explosive guided rocket and is reloaded from an arm on the back. Reloading takes a full second.

Left shoulder: Rapid-fire plasma cannon with a tri-barrel rotary system allowing for rapid cooling. Has a ROF of around 150 rpm.

Left arm has a wrist mounted deployable chainsaw with specially crafted carbon blades harder than any naturally occurring element.


Extras: Harmonizer Mk.5 Cloak generator, and older type scavenged from a destroyed military mech, gives a full minuet invisibility across almost all visible light and sensor bands before recharging for 5 minuets. The cloaking field interferes with the mech's own targeting systems so only point blank shots or the saw will hit if fired while the field is active. <!-- / message -->

Odin
Name: Odin
Type: Mecha
Description:I'd just say "Saudade of Sunday" but there are very few pictures of that available on the internet. It's something like a blue humanoid covered in light golden armor. The mecha looks and moves like a person, going so far as to have tiny toes. Patches of the blue "skin" can be seen through the armor, and if hit in the right spot it will even "bleed" some blue power-conducting fluid.
Weapons:
Zyfeld Vibroblade-this sword, while not much more damaging than a normal mecha sword, vibrates at a high frequency to melt through armor and is made of material that can cut through standard energy shields more easily than normal alloys.

Energy Shield-mounted on the left arm, this projects a energy shield. It functions like a normal metal shield, with the notable exception of resetting after attacks, so it doesn't ablate like a normal shield. Sufficiently powerful attacks can pierce the shield, and even overload it.

Extras:
Teleportation-Odin can teleport. In combat this is relatively short distance, but it does allow it to cover ground much faster than normal and slip past other mecha. Outside of combat the maximum range is the horizon*

Bioenergy-Odin is powered, strangely enough, by the pilot. This system is non-volatile, meaning that it is far less likely to explode than a fusion-powered mecha, and has a higher output than normal powerplants.

Odin's fast on it's feet, closing distance quickly to cut through enemies with it's sword. It's not very heavily armored, relying on it's shield and speed to protect it.

Weapons: Plasma Flamethrower (Left Hand): This is a short range, but incredibly powerful and high temperature flamethrower, hot enough to turn into the element plasma, able to burn through unrefined mechs and other metals in a matter of seconds, severely damaging whatever it touches. It can, if done correctly, cook a pilot inside their own mech, overheat the boosters and cause an internal explosion, as well as many other crippling reactions if kept on the mech for long periods of time. However, it takes a few seconds to start up, and the range is only a few hundred meters, which is well within regular firing range. Used only as a close range for smaller enemies. It can also be used as a club for melee combat.

Hi-Power Plasma Rifle (Right Hand): This is a mid-long range rifle, with charge and rapid fire capabilities. This weapon is capable of hitting a target 5 meters wide from several thousand miles once charged to max. It also has a rapid fire capability, from about a thousand meters or so, giving it a good mid range fire. It is, as with the flamethrower, plasma weaponry, giving it a good armor piercing element.

Hi-Speed Pursuit Missiles (Back Right Shoulder): The four struts on his back are used to prep hi speed missiles that lock on to the central power source of the mech being targeted. Some special kinds of energy sources may be immune to the missiles tracking (like Archy's mecha). The missiles themselves are high penetration, piercing, pursuit missiles, meant to infiltrate the outer armor, lodge itself into the main power core, and detonate from it's explosive warhead. It only has a few dozen missiles as ammo, and it's tracking can be easily lost in a sea of mechs, hitting unwanted targets.

Extras:

Plasma Core: Through several technologies, including fission and fusion, a plasma energy core is contained inside the Ebony Judgment, containing almost an infinite amount of energy, high heat, and highly dangerous if the core is torn apart. Fortunately, the core is protected by the famous Tengu steel, which has incredibly high heat capacity and very strong.

Melee Weapons and Armor: When the mecha crash landed on the Tengu planet, it was badly damaged, the weapons broken, and the body damaged as well. The Tengu's replaced the missing and broken pieces with the famous Tengu steel, allowing the armor to have incredible heat capacity and strength, as well as the weapons. The weapons are strong enough to use as clubs and melee weapons without too much damage to the internal workings. This goes for the legs and chest as well.

Melee Proficiency: The Tengu King is, and has always been, trained in martial arts and weapon use. This has carried over to his mech training, having been self taught. They got the mech working before the weapons, and Sojobo trained in the mech as a martial arts regiment. He knows how to kick, punch, grab and smash with the mech, making him a more dangerous threat close range.

X5N VCPAS / Rose
Name: X5N Variable Configuration Personal Armor System / Rose
Type: Personal Armor System
Description: The X5N is a prototype nanotech armor, capable of reconfiguring itself and actively repairing itself, scavenging its surroundings for material as necissary. It has three operating modes; Low Profile, Assault, and EVA. Low Profile fabricates an armored variant of up to roughly a dozen clothing items in stored memory. Assault mode is comparable to high-end power-assist tactical assault armor. The EVA setting is fully enclosed and airtight, and features maneuvering thrusters. Reconfiguring between these modes takes about 5 minutes, during which all other functions are suspended and the wearer must remain relatively stationary. The Emergency Reconstruct feature reconfigures the armor at an accelerated rate (10 seconds, and the default result is EVA) which drains the nanites' capacitors, forcing them to suspend all non-passive functionality for 30 minutes.

Weapons:
Low Profile: No integral weapon systems.
Assault: Shoulder mounted Micromissile launcher (Internal magazine capacity 5 missiles; missile fabrication requires 1m/round and raw materials).
EVA: Magnetic Grapple, Breaching Torch (a cutting torch designed to be used in conjunction with the magnetic grapple to effect hostile boardings)

Extras: In addition to its self-repair feature, the X5N has the capability to fabricate equipment and ammunition from stored schematics using mass scavenged from its surroundings. At present, the X5N has six stored schematics; K135 Assault Rifle, C.I.A. Stonewyrm, .309 and .58COX ammunition, and magazines for aforementioned weapons.

The distributed processing of the nanites has given rise to an AI whom Ansgar calls Rose. He communicates with Rose - and vice versa - though a mic headset. Rose has the capability to interact directly with a neural interface - the capacity was built into the X5N from the ground up - but Ansgar doesn't trust that particular fledgling technology just yet.

Ammunition fabrication averages 1 round/sec, a C.I.A. Stonewyrm takes about 2 minutes, and a K135 is completed in approximately 4 minutes. <!-- / message -->

"Today on Titan Avenue the Alpha Railworks warehouse was bombed and destroyed completely following a black out of all nearby citizens and cameras. While the only casualties of the attack were the factory works many reported a humanoid Machina being reported at the scene. Clean up crews found a large organic red mass in the middle that has been taken by authorities to see if it has any link to this attack. Citizens are advised to avoid Titan Avenue until repairs are made to the surrounding area."



CLASSIFIED

S-Type
S-0
The S-0 type is commonly referred to as an "Egg" these red masses are often egg shaped and 1.5 to 3 meters long depending on how much they have stored. These often "hatch" into a squad of S-1 types.

S-1
The most basic S-type infection, these tendrils of muscle like tissue often lash out onto a victim seizing control of their nervous system before converting their skin into more of the muscle tissue. From there they use the basic structure of the infected as their body as well as anything else nearby that can be attached for armor. They quickly break down a host body for additional biomass and space for more armaments or storage of live beings.

The average S-1 is roughly human height and shape having two legs and arms but lacking any facial features except for a visor like solid green eye. The eye glows if it is containing a live specimen.

S-2
Very similar at first glance to the S-1 except it has an actual bone-like structure underneath. It is also capable of interfacing with machines unlike it's less evolved brother. The S-2 is often a commander of a group of S-1's while it leads and gathers information from the back. It also shares the same storing ability as the S-1

Physically they are much large than the S-1. Averaging 7-8 feet tall and possesing much more mass they're "hide" has also hardened leading to the lack of armor. Most small arms fire have no effect on them what so ever.

FOr example, if he needs to have an agent infiltrate a drug ring, and results in the agent trafficing drugs, once the ring has been taken down, Lance will focus on bringing down other drug rings as repayment for his agent being directly involved.

Traits(2): Full prosthetic body (Ghost in the Shell style) - No healing. Wounds/damage must be repaired, with all but the most minor damages requiring specific gear rarely, if ever, found in the field; Offers increased reflexes, speed, strength, and senses, as well as man-machine interface; Numerous levels of high-end firewalls and defensive barriers, as well as counter-viruses, protect from hacking and virus attacks, though highly skilled elite hackers can still pose a threat, requiring Lance to retreat into his own cybernetic mind and combat the hacker/virus himself; Does not need to breathe or eat, and only requires two hours of charge time (charging is done via solar/kinetic power; lack of one of these increases charge time to four hours, and lack of both increases charge time to eight hours); While eating is not required, Lance will still usually eat one or two meals a day, as his sense of taste was included in his prosthetic model; Lance can still feel pain when damaged; In order to pilot the Pacifier, Lance sends his ghost into the mecha, and pilots it as he would control his prosthetic body; This means that if the Pacifier is damaged, Lance feels pain as if his body had been damaged.

Racial Background: The Candorians are a race of humans from the planet Candorii. They are almost exaclty the same as Earthlings, save for the fact that they have become nearly fully cyberized, with their brains being the only part of them that is still organic. Their planet has become one massive super-computer, with the cyber-minds, or ghosts, of the Candorians existing inside. When traveling to other planets, or interacting with other species, Candorians employ the use of full prosthetic bodies. The Candorian Nation controls 12 planets, 4 of which have been cyberized like Candorii, which are known as Mainframes. The remaining planets are known as Prosthetic Colonies, or PCs for short. PCs are used for one fo three things: 1) Conversion into a Mainframe, 2) A place to live for those who wish to live in prosthetics without total cyberization, or 3) Detention Planet, also known as Scrapyards. Around 150 years prior to the events on Kenston Prime, a slight alteration went into the Candorian's technology. Realizing that as a completely mechanical/cyber race they were highly susceptible to EMPs and other anti-electronic weapons/phenomena, the Candorians quickly developed a material that could still be used in their prosthetics and Mainframes, but proved to be highly EMP resistant. The material is known as Electrixia. While not entirely immune to EMPs and similar effects, it is highly resistant, allowing continued operation at 50% output. After roughly 1-2 hours, the effects of the EMP dissipate, and 100% operational capacity is restored.

Character Background: Lance Triello is relatively young as Candorians go. He was 'born' on a PC known as Tacitus III, one of the first PCs developed for Candorians wishing to live in full prosthetics. He grew up in the capital city of Kane, where his mother was a lawyer while his dad worked as a police officer. When he was ten years old, his father was killed by crossfire from a shoot-out between two rival gangs. From that moment on, Lance knew that he wanted, no, that he needed to be a police officer. After entering the Police Academy in Downtown Kane, Lance graduated at the top of his class, and quickly rose in the ranks, much to the suprise of his peers and colleagues, especially since he used out-dated equipment, for which he was often teased during his years in the academy and as a rook. It was three years ago that he was promoted to the rank of Inspector/Colonel. Since then, he has lead several investigations that have resulted in the capture and incarceration of some of the Candorian Nation's most wanted. Now, he has been tasked with investigating the bombing of Kenston Prime, along with the disappearances near Kenston IV, and determining if their source(s) pose any threat to the Candroian Nation.

If his criminal record is to be believed to is one of the worst examples of scum the galaxy has ever had to offer, but it does not tell the whole story. He has never done anything he has seen as 'wrong' and seems to have a sense of honor, an d a strange sense of humor that never seems to dim, even in the most dire situations.

Innate Hazardous Environment Survivability:
The Vendar are a tough race that through selective breeding and genetic enhancements over centuries can survive in almost any environment, so long as there is an environment to survive in.

Grim Laughter:
Able to find amusement in any situation fear does not seem to effect him. This make him an inspiring leader amongst the pirates, able to get his men to face any enemy with a smile and to laugh in the face of death.

Background:

Exiled many years ago for treason, he hijacked the prison transport he was on and with the help of the freed convicts disappeared onto pirate space. His name has been heard sporadically since.
The crimes Glukar committed have never been revealed by his government, though he has never denied the charges and lived with pirates for a time before crash-landing on Kenston IV. His record shows several murders and robberies, acts of piracy and treason. there was rumored to be a large pirate base in the sector that went dark recently and it was listed as a possible hiding place, and the corvette that he crash landed in was heavily damaged and bore pirate insignia, and few bodies recovered also appeared to be pirates.

Personality: Calculating with a hint of OCD, Archanos has a tendency to freak whenever things don't go her way. Her attention to detail is what landed her a position as a Recon Lieutenant.

-OCD: Extreme attention to detail. Lieutenant Archanos takes every detail into account, no matter how insignificant.
-Tunnel Vision: Because of her OCDness, Dani has a tendency to overlook the bigger picture. Often times Desolator has to remind her of the task at hand.
Equipment: IBA Flak Jacket, Mk 46 Mod 1 Magnum pistol, PGR-14 Skirmish Rifle, and a dogtag that depicts a fatigue wearing skeleton raising a glass with a simple saying around it: "Squander all on drink, but don't disgrace the Army."
Background: A rookie Army officer recently promoted to Lieutenant for her high marks in Recon School. Dani was one of six daughters, seven if you count her transgender brother. Dani was raised by an auto mechanic who taught her the importance of attention to detail. This resulted in her becoming OCD in nearly all aspects of her life. She was approached by an Army recruiter after high school with the offer of gold, opportunity, and adventure. Dani joined for opportunity. Gold and adventure are just a bonus.

Traits(2):
Dangerous - Tsukabasa will stop at nothing to get his revenge. This includes opening fire in his Machina in a civilian sector, Making rash headed attempts to defeat an enemy, and being banned from using any non obsolete Machina by the Sirius Republic. His hectic and hard hitting tactics however are capable of inspiring others to follow his plans.

Connected - Years of service in the Military and helping his family in their xenoarcheology has granted Tsukabasa many connections inside and out of the Human Quadrant. Tsukabasa has the ability to pull favors from certain oragnizations while others he simply has to use his fist for.

Weapons:

Mk68 Twin-barrel Autocannon (Handheld in use, Stored on hip) 100 shots per drum, spare drums stored in legs. High-Rof and Low stopping power makes this weapon great for smaller targets.

Hi-sat Mk4 Plasma Rifle (Handheld in use, Stowed on back) 75 burst until capacitor needs replacement. Spares stored in hip binders. This abandoned weapon fires in burst of three with high damage and a quick cooldown time. Has reliability issues.

Ceti Mk33 Energy Blade (Handheld in use, stowed in forearm recharge racks) Variable time limit depending on setting. These adjustable energy blades are a standard issue to many Machina humanoid types. They are typically green in color but continue up to purple depending on the energy output. (Green -Standard Red-Weak Purple-Strong Blue - Strongest)

(Optional) Micro-Fission Missile Packs (Mounted on Shoulders/Back) 10 shots per pack, up to four packs. These additional armaments slow down the Machina while providing it with extra kick.

(Optional) Twin Energy Cannons (Mounted on Shoulders/Back) Unlimted shots but require a long cool down. These additional armaments slowdown the Machina while providing it with extra kick. Can be used in conunction with Missile packs.

(Optional) Giant Mk99 Killzone Bazooka (Requires both hands and uses a shoulder. Stowed on back) 10 shots per magazine, Extras stowed on legs/hip binders. This massive bazooka was designed specificically for the Heavy Armor Cyclops in mind. It's massive size prevents the mounting of missile packs on one side of the Machina and the use of the Energy Cannons entirely. Using a twin headed High-Explosive/Anti-Organic round makes this useful against all targets. Slow RoF, HIGH Damage.

Extras:
Hover-Jet System - Using combined Turbojets and Thrusters allows the Cyclops to hover just above the ground increasing it's speed greatly despite it's heavy appearance. This system is replaced in space with an entirely thruster based one allowing for similar speeds.

Full Armor - The 09FA has extra armor added to it to make up for it's old frame design. These plates have been changed from standard issue Tritanium to a much stronger Pyritium alloy.

Obsolete - Due to Tsukabasa having a notorious reputation the Cyclops is in fact 5 years obsolete being the only thing he was allowed to keep upon his discharge. He has tried to keep it up to date but some of it's systems are beginning to age and may no longer function.

Background: Hanako's family is a pretty average middle class family-mother, father, and one daughter. Her dad works designing mecha, and her mom is a businesswoman at a company that..does something. Mostly her job seems to be getting other people to do their jobs. Hanako herself is in highschool, and does pretty well as a student. She has a boyfriend, and his family's distaste of her causes some grief. The fact that their (large, heaping hills of) money come from some shady dealings doesn't help.

Odin is where things get strange. It's her fathers' life's work-the model he has dreamed of for decades. But he isn't paid nearly enough to even begin making the thing, much less bring it to working order. Occasionally Hanako will come home to find strange men in suits talking to her parents about something that she isn't supposed to hear.

Her father is more focused on getting Odin completed than worrying about whatever ill effects his dealings may have, her mother worries about their safety, and her boyfriend Charles and his family object to whoever her dad is dealing with, but are silent on who they are and why they aren't liked.

Hanako has been learning how to pilot Odin in her free time, because it seems pretty cool. Her dad lets her use it for emergencies only-if the paint's chipped, she was out joyriding and gets an earful. If the left arm has half a dozen holes in the armor, clearly he needs to be thankful for still having a daughter.

Description:I'd just say "Saudade of Sunday" but there are very few pictures of that available on the internet. It's something like a blue humanoid covered in light golden armor. The mecha looks and moves like a person, going so far as to have tiny toes. Patches of the blue "skin" can be seen through the armor, and if hit in the right spot it will even "bleed" some blue power-conducting fluid.
Weapons:
Zyfeld Vibroblade-this sword, while not much more damaging than a normal mecha sword, vibrates at a high frequency to melt through armor and is made of material that can cut through standard energy shields more easily than normal alloys.

Energy Shield-mounted on the left arm, this projects a energy shield. It functions like a normal metal shield, with the notable exception of resetting after attacks, so it doesn't ablate like a normal shield. Sufficiently powerful attacks can pierce the shield, and even overload it.

Extras:
Teleportation-Odin can teleport. In combat this is relatively short distance, but it does allow it to cover ground much faster than normal and slip past other mecha. Outside of combat the maximum range is the horizon*

Bioenergy-Odin is powered, strangely enough, by the pilot. This system is non-volatile, meaning that it is far less likely to explode than a fusion-powered mecha, and has a higher output than normal powerplants.

Odin's fast on it's feet, closing distance quickly to cut through enemies with it's sword. It's not very heavily armored, relying on it's shield and speed to protect it.

Wow. 150 RPM is slow for a machine gun. The lowest rate of fire for a Thompson submachine gun, back in the day, was 600 rpm.
 
Yeah, but a Thompson does not shoot miniature suns.
 
You also have to take into consideration the size of the weapon.

The bigger the caliber, the lower the RPM.

I know better. The Five Inch is used to shell land based targets, other ships, intercept missiles, and shoot down aircraft. Realistically the Five Inch is a secondary weapon of choice under 17 nautical miles.

Personality: Raven is known to be an aggressive, competitive, driven individual with a knack and a know how on machines. She can have quite a temper but she can also be a flirt and laugh things off as well. She has a dramatic flair for things, emphasized by the fact she gestures a lot, and isn't afraid to get down and dirty when she must. Raven can be unpredictable and seem insane at times, talking to herself or inanimate objects.

Traits(2):

Quick-thinking - Doc is not the type to sit around and weep over things. She will do what she has to in order to survive or respond to something that threatens her in anyway. Don't expect her to scream or weep her eyes out in times of stress and emergency. She'll be the one kicking ass when push comes to shove.

Engineering - If anyone knows their way around machines, it's Raven. She lives and breathes them and she always has a handy little fix-it kit on her at all times. She can repair most problems easily and quickly or at least improvise quick patches that will hold for a time.

Background: Raven was born an only child to a widow who had lost her husband to a freak accident months before the birth of her daughter. Her mother was a botanist who specialized in alien plants and they moved around constantly. Raven was homeschooled and never learned to make friends or social connections like other kids did her age. But she showed an aptitude for learning and researching, something that proved handy during her college years.

Raven enlisted in the military which helped to pay tuition and majored in engineering. She now works at military facilities, reverse engineering alien technology and creating some machines of her own for military use.

... Oh and for a few years after graduating from college, she was married to some hotshot military officer who just recently became an admiral somewhere or another. Her ex-husband's name is Travis Randall, an older man about 20 years her senior. She doesn't talk about him much but he likes to check on her often ... with her knowing!

-- Two-handed large gun - Often in its holster on her back, it fires two types of projectiles depending on the "setting" Raven sets it on using verbal commands.
~"BB's": small bombs that have a five second timer that begins counting down the moment it hits something;
~"Bull": normal bullets strong enough to pierce tank metal

--Mini rocket launchers - Found in the shoulders

--Energy blades - Generated from the toes or the back of the boots, under the wrists or over the knuckles

--Energy cannon - On her right wrist

Extras:

--Thrusters in the boots and in the small wings at the back

--Helmet's black visor turns transparent, equipped with infrared, night vision, x-ray

--Suit changes color in order to camouflage; normal color is black

--Power suit summoning chip - Embedded in her watch; it allows her to "summon" the power suit to her, although it often takes about 30 seconds for the power suit to teleport from its container to wherever she is, no matter where she is unless she's right in front of it when summoning it

--Teleporting chips - Embedded in each part of the suit, such as the wings, the helmet, the legs, etc.; it allows her to "summon" part of or the whole body suit depending on which she specifies when talking into the summoning chip
 
Approved Alarice but the Machina seems just a tad bit weapons overloaded. Then again the far future allows for such things.
