The thing is, by saying "Trump sucks!" You're implying to Windsong that his political ideas suck. Even if you express these beliefs don't represent his being in it's entirety, but with a weighty topic people put this much emotion into, considering it's about the future of their country, it becomes sorta like saying to someone "You have absolutely disgusting teeth, but otherwise you're kind of pretty."
I mean it's not like I think you shouldn't be able to say it, but I think this is how it comes across. Don't get me wrong, I'm not judging you for it and I'm not opposed to making fun of Trump, or any political candidate. Heck, the one positive side to alla this is that as non-American I won't have to feel responsible for electing whoever goes to office, so roast the whole lot of 'em for all I care. Windsong might kind of have a point that Hillary or Bern-bashing wouldn't go over so well, and I get that. It's kind of like feeling someone decided "This opinion is a-okay, but this opinion sucks." There's also a lot of flack against Trump supporters that makes this an emotionally charged topic, I mean just look at the media. That puts people under quite some stress as well, people are shitting over their ideas in everyday life, but when they shit over someone else's they get a mob after them.
I'm not saying you can't post this topic, I just hope this might clear some things up on the reaction to it from a more neutral perspective.
