Kazeyama: Shiawase Twilight 7

The announcement of the field trip was eliciting a variety of responses from the other students, though many were hard to read. It made Yukisa grin at least to see Kenta in high spirits about the whole affair. Though she was wary of making him dislike her for any reason, she could not deny that he was a kind person to have around and his boundless enthusiasm tend to make things more bearable than they would be without it. The other students did not seem nearly as thrilled at him, though to Yukisa's surprise the most negativity seemed to be coming from the boys.

With a mind to at least try to make the best of the trip, Yukisa followed close behind Kenta in arriving at the dorm room. Thus far, they had been harmonious roommates with few disagreements on anything and Yukisa was hesitantly hoping that this is what it meant to be friends. Not that she was really sure, but the goodwill and hope for it was there. If nothing else, they made compatible dorm partners and she felt she should at least be grateful for that.

When she opened the door, Kenta seemed to be busily packing already and following suit, Yukisa retrieved an medium-sized bag and hoped that it was appropriate. Aoi-sensei had not mentioned how long they would be staying, after all, but she figured that it wouldn't be more than a night or two. The small dresser with her things in it was easy enough to retrieve a couple of outfits from to stuff into the bag, but Yukisa found herself asking the same questions as Kenta.

"Uhm, do you think... We need to bring our own yukata? I don't know. I have mine for festivals, but I don't know if most students do... they'll probably provide them, right?" Her hand hovered over a folded article of clothing in the drawer, a cream-colored yukata with a purple butterfly design and an obi next to it in rich purple with a white flower design. She felt a little silly for having her own, but if they were requited to bring them, it would be useful...

School trip... it weighed heavily on Ame's mind. She'd never been on a school trip that required packing, in other words, an overnight stay. Plus... it was an onsen, which meant... bathing suits? Or worse: no clothes at all. Even if it was just with other girls around, she'd be self conscious without a doubt.

As she made her way to her room to pack she didn't think of her mischievous roommate until she neared the door. Ame didn't dislike Yuki in the least, even with his antics it was better than having a roommate who avoided her like the plague. Besides, he did always make up for it so it wasn't as if she was being bullied or anything. She reached the door and found it unlocked, a warning flag lifted in her head already, but she then noticed the muffled sounds of running water. The shower was running and the bathroom door was closed. Yuki couldn't very well be up to something while bathing, could he...? Well... he could actually, so she didn't exactly let her guard down as she stepped inside and pulled the door shut behind her.

Upon stepping forward and finally noticing the movement in the room, her pace instantly came to a stop. "Eh..." One second was spent making eye contact, then an even more awkward moment followed as her gaze strayed downward to her classmate's bare chest and partially exposed underwear. ...Snowflakes. Then her face turned a rather bright shade of red as any light weight objects in the room rattled thanks to her powers. "Eh, umm, sorry... I mean," she turned around, "t-that's too much, Yuki-san..." she muttered, gaze glued to anything but Yuki as she started to pack.

Yuki chuckled softly at Ame's reaction to his current state of dress within her room. Smirking mischievously at the back of her head, the Ice Demon finished pulling a pair of fitted blue jeans up over his pale thighs. Zipping and buttoning them up went by quickly enough as well. While his prank had gone quite well Arikado decided that taking things just a step further would be much more interesting. For him at least. . . though there was always a chance Ame might get something out of it.

His poor roommate suddenly found a pair of pale arms wrapping around her waist from behind in what would seemed like friendly hug. Except for the simple fact that Yuki was still bare-footed and bare-chested. Purposely his moderately toned muscles pressed against her back while the tip of his chin came to rest down on the girl's shoulder. Coldness started to envelope her body very slowly but surely. Concentration on restraining his elemental aura's presence kept her from literally freezing up. Instead she would only get the impression that he had just been standing inside a walk-in freezer. Nuzzling her hot, reddened cheek with his cold pale cheek before speaking sweetly in voice with somewhat flirty undertones.

"You really are something special for putting up with me Ame-san. I really mean that. Sorry if I upset you at all. Your reactions are just so priceless that I just can't resist the temptation sometimes."

Soft as a snowflake falling on the skin, his icy lips placing brief but sweet kiss on her cheek before starting to let go of probably the only one in the entire class that could toss him around like a ragdoll. Then a thought entered his mind of how to start making it up to Ame. Of course the fact that he still remained shirtless seemed to not occur to him at all. Which likely meant he was more than just comfortable around his roommate. If she turned to face him, the gifted girl would find a sweet smile awaiting her on the lips which had just kissed her cheek so tenderly moments ago.

"If you want Ame-san, I could help you pack?"

Kazeyama was certainly a large place, but Hibiki wasn't nervous as he hopped off the bus that morning. Sure, it was a bit awkward being thrust back into modern Japan after living in the mountains for a while, but Kazeyama was isolated from the outside world, much like his mentor's temple was. And despite his parents' worries, he hadn't forgotten how to survive in modern society. They'd barely given him time to pack before shipping him off to the campus, and were practically biting their nails as they saw him off on the monorail. Silly human parents!

Oops. He wasn't supposed to think like that. He'd gotten lectured on it several times already by the yamabushi, pom-poms on their uniforms shaking angrily all the while. He was still a human. Mostly. The tengu at that shrine seemed to feel otherwise, though…

It didn't take long to find his housing, as there were no crowds to wade through to get there. As soon as he'd arrived, he dropped his bags, reaching for the ceiling- and nearly making contact with it- before he bent to touch his toes. A good stretch always felt nice. He wanted to stretch his wings, too, but he couldn't. Not here in his nice new dorm room. Cleaning up feathers was a terrible chore, and it wouldn't be a good way to start off his relationship with his roommate… not that the boy or girl was there for him to greet. Hibiki had been warned of the onsen visit that morning shortly before he'd arrived, so he wasn't surprised that his roommate wasn't around. No doubt he or she had already booked it to the bus station. Or maybe they'd just moved out when they heard he was coming.

He supposed he needed to get going, too, but he didn't rush as he unpacked his luggage. Being the last one to show up just meant he'd get introduced to the entire 3-S class at once. Despite his lazy pacing, it didn't take long to empty the luggage he wouldn't need on the trip out onto his bed. He'd organize it later. The one item he did make sure to keep neat was the uniform he'd soon have to wear. There was no need for it today; he was heading directly to the onsen in his v-neck shirt and jeans.

As he shouldered his much lighter bag, Hibiki started to grin. This was all still pretty unbelievable. A field trip on his first day? Sure, why not? What better way to bond with your new classmates than almost immediately getting naked in front of them?

Still smiling, he shut his room's door behind him, heading back exactly the way he'd come. He was a bit surprised when he saw that no one else was around, but he knew he was in the right place. He must have had a big head start. Or maybe he was a lot more efficient than he gave himself credit for. Shrugging, he dropped his bag, taking the opportunity to study the campus and all its minutiae. Might as well start familiarizing himself with it now.

Kenta had been pulled out his bag for packing when Yukisa had arrived. His necessities were neatly stowed in another corner of his suitcase. He silently slipped into the bathroom quickly in order to change into his clothes. When he emerged he perked up to hear Yukisa's questions mirror his own.

"Oh, I think I'm going to bring my own yukata just to be safe..." He replied, folding up his with the vibrant blue waves and orange lanterns adorning it. "Looks like I am all packed though so I will meet you by the bus stop." Kenta nodded, zipping up his small bag and tossing it over his shoulder, making sure to grab his katana on the way out. "I'll make sure to hold the bus if you're late!" He offered over his shoulder as he shut the door behind him, exiting out into the hallway. He passed a few other dorms, peeking inside the ones with the open doors, waving to a few of the other classmates as they packed, familiar faces but nobody he interacted with normally. In fact, since the incident at the haunted school he tended to speak more often with those that were there. Of course, as Class Representative he knew everyone in class and they all knew him so he could at least be friendly with everyone.

He didn't see any of the others that he knew better, of course they might be behind the closed doors, or already waiting by the bus! Oh no! If he wasn't the first one there that would set a bad precedent! Wouldn't it? No matter, Kenta took off from the front doors at a light jog, no time to be late now!

As Kenta came to the bus stop he found that he was beaten there by...who was that? He should really know who that was. "Um, hello? Are you part of class 3-S?" He raised an eyebrow, completely forgetting that Aoi-Sensei had already informed him of the new student that would be joining them just a day or so prior. "I'm Suzuki Kenta, class rep for 3-S, and you are?" He kept a smile on his face, trying to look as non-threatening he could be with a katana hidden in his bokken, just in case this new student could see through the ploy.

Naoki had once again came in through a window. He couldn't help himself! Not to mention that the views were grand from that high up. Plus there was a tree there for cover so no one could spot him scaling the wall. Naoki was torn though, to pack his yukata or to not? He'd been to an onsen a few times before. Even to a traditional inn once or twice. He was excited and he didn't want to look stupid. Well, more stupid than normal. Perhaps he shouldn't take his own yukata and use the plain white ones the onsen was sure to provide. He chewed his lip for a minute. Of course, it was his way to be over prepared and not under, so the yukata went into the bag.

Now for the important part! What weapons should he bring? He already had a variety about his person, but he wanted at least one or two more... Into sneaky hidden pockets went his two long knives, an assortment of caltrops, and perhaps a few extra kunai, and a throwing star or two. Yes. That would do it! He made sure he had a couple pairs of pants too and a tee or two with a long sleeve shirt.

Naoki was humming as he began to strip, there was no way he was going to the onsen in his uniform! Which meant that at least a few of his favorite weapons had to be repacked on him, but he was fast and clearly didn't care what his roomie saw of his rather broad back. Besides, Kae-chan certainly wasn't about to go tattle on him for being nicely tanned. Naoki was mostly dressed, just pulling a
brown hoodie over his head. His mouth got caught in some of the strings as he hurriedly added some beaded bracelets. Well, smoke bombs. But no one had to know that!

"Ah! Kae-chan!" Naoki used the pet name he'd developed for the boy. "Sure! We can walk together. Can't take the tree then." He gave a wink, slinging his duffle bag over his shoulder and grabbing his sneakers with the other hand. He'd put them on at the door. "Have you ever been to the onsen? What's it like? I'd ask my Niichan or Oneechan but I'm under strict orders to leave them alone." He grinned. "Ah! You can fill me in the bus! Look at the time!" Naoki yelped, grabbing hold of Kaelyn's wrist and tugging him towards the door. Naoki couldn't help how hands on he was... It was just a personality quirk.

Upon hearing the announcement, Kotaro was surprised but also excited. Considering what he and the other students had been through over the past couple of days, a trip to a hot spring sounded like a welcome distraction. He himself had barely recovered from the shock of their little adventure at the old school building. Thankfully, however, they had all come out of it unharmed. Still, it was an experience he was not likely to forget anytime soon.

Once classes where over, he made his way back to the dorms. As he entered his room, Kotaro noticed that his roommate had yet to return. Kotaro had barely gotten to know his roommate since coming to Kazeyama, mostly because the only time spent between the two of them was after classes when they needed to be studying or at night when it was time to turn in. All Kotaro really knew about the student he shared a room with was what he had shared with him when they first met. He was an native of Osaka that could supposedly fire beams of energy from his nailbeds. Kotaro had thought that was a very strange and unlikely ability, but since coming to Kazeyama he had discovered there were many strange things that he would never have imagined in this place. Everything from the realm of the mystical, supernatural, and the just plain weird seemed to find its way to Kazeyama, and there was no telling what was waiting for its students with the dawn of every new day.

Actually, it occurred to Kotaro, he hadn't seen his roomate at all in the past two days. He began to wonder if something might have happened to him. What if he had gone out on an "assignment" like the one at the old school and hadn't been lucky enough to make it out alive? There was no accounting for the things that went on at Kazeyama, and he had heard rumors about students that simply disappeared, never to be heard from again. The administration was usually very tight-lipped when it came to the strange goings-on in and around the school, so they likely wouldn't notify him even if something terrible had happened. Whatever the case, Kotaro decided there was no point in worrying about it right now. After all, he had a school trip to get ready for.

He went to the small set of dresser drawers next to his bed and opened one of them. Kotaro began digging through the neatly folded shirts and assorted pairs of socks and underwear. He took out a pair of each to pack later, but there was still one other item he would need. Digging deeper, he found it buried under a matching set of pajama pants and tops. It was a powder blue yukata, the one item of clothing that was a must-have for bathing in a hotspring. He hadn't thought he would ever need it at Kazeyama, but one good thing about growing up living at a shrine was that there was never a shortage of traditional wear to be had, so he had brought it with him, just in case.

Retrieving his suit-case from the closet, Kotaro piled the items of clothing into it, being careful to place the yukata on top so that it wouldn't get wrinkled. He then closed the suitcase and carried it with him, leaving the dorm room. As he shut the door behind him, he wondered if his roommate would be back soon, and that if he was, would he wonder where Kotaro had gone. Maybe he would assume Kotaro had disappeared just the same as Kotaro was thinking about him only moments before. There was no way to know for sure, but it still made Kotaro wonder as he made his way to the bus stop.

It was a moment before Naoki replied to Kaelyn's question and the young siren figured his roommate's thoughts were elsewhere. Brief as his time unanswered was, Kaelyn decided to pack a few extra things just in case, one of which was a yukata since he'd seen Naoki pack one. Now if no one else brought their own, at least he wouldn't feel too stupid about it.

He'd just managed to zip up his travel bag when his roommate finally answered. Immediately Kaelyn's face flushed at the pet name. He really couldn't get used to such an embarrassing shortened version of an already embarrassing name. And of course he was thankful that he wasn't going to be dragged out the window...this time.

"G-gimme a second!" he gasped, struggling to slip a pair of colorful high-cut Vans onto his feet; a task he found difficult with only one free hand and the other being tugged on by his over-excited roommate. And yet he managed, then grabbed up his travel bag and allowed Naoki to drag him along.

Kaelyn was amused for a moment when he noticed that only his own feet were pounding loudly as he and Naoki hurried for the bus. However, when he arrived, he was momentarily distracted by a new face. He couldn't help but stare because this new student had the very same kind of beauty as Yuki, almost as if they weren't quite human. And Kenta was already at the bus stop too, playing his part of class representative and interacting with the new student. Kaelyn watched with jealous eyes as the two conversed. The new person really was a pretty face and it took Kaelyn more than a moment to realize how he was acting but when he did finally notice, he quickly suppressed the childish emotion.

"A-ah... Mori-san," he stuttered, turning back to Naoki with a shy smile. "I've been to a few Onsen before, but not the one we're heading to today. There are both indoor and outdoor ones, y'know. The outdoor ones are either man-made baths or natural hot springs." Lifting a hand to push up his glasses on the bridge of his nose, he smiled down at his feet. "I like the outdoor hot springs the best. The fresh air, the springs, the traditional lodging. It's all so relaxing." Plus, with the outdoor ones, he was allowed to listen to his iPod while soaking. Hopefully he wouldn't drop his precious iPod in the water this time!

It wasn't that they were expensive, though. Money wasn't a problem for him, thanks to his rich parents. It was just annoying and painful not having music during the time it took to buy a new one and load music onto it. Kaelyn remembered the last time he'd been without music. That was around the same time as that...accident.

Looking up, her eyes wide and her mouth a circle of surprise, Yukisa watched as her roommate disappeared with a parting gesture of kindness that made her smile a little to herself. Decisively, she stuffed the yukata into the bag along with her sandals. The obi was tucked with the other articles of clothing and some of her casual wear. Even if it wasn't necessary to have these things, they did make her feel a little more confident.

With all of her clothes stuffed in a bag, she glanced around the room and tried to assess if she was missing anything that she needed to bring with her. Satisfied that she had gotten everything that he needed, she slung the bag over her shoulder and hurried to where the bus was supposed to arrive. She could see a couple of students gathered already and she approached with as much confidence as possible.

Her confidence was a little shaky, however, when she saw Kaelyn. She had tried to help, unconsciously revealing a sliver of her gifts to him. Not that she had known him before, or that he might be able to distance himself from her anymore than they were already separate... but she was still a bit embarrassed for him to know the kinds of things that she was capable of doing.

Ame was still good and red, her whole body shivering a little as Yuki hugged her. It wasn't from the cold either. No, she was shivering from a mini freak due to being held against her roommate's, still shirtless, torso. And being a girl who'd never so much as held hands with a boy, it was... well, shocking to suddenly find herself in an embrace and even receive a kiss on her previously nuzzled cheek. Even after all that, what continued to make her heart race more than everything else were his words he'd spoken. To actually call her special just for putting up with him, and saying it all it that flirty tone. Though she knew better than to ever think he was actually flirting with her, that was just impossible.

"Ah... s-sure," She answered the question without really thinking. She didn't wish to deny the other his chance to make it up to her as he always did. Besides, they were in danger of running late. Timidly, she pointed out the section of her closet were she kept her street clothes, which mostly consisted of mildly frilly long skirts and shirts to match. She packed her undergarmets herself though, as it would be more than embarrassing to let Yuki handle those. She also packed her yukata and sandals herself before slipping into the bathroom to change, as well as to turn the shower off now that it was clear it was only on to serve as a decoy for Yuki's teasing.

While changing out of her school uniform she made sure to keep a little focus on the door, making sure it stayed closed. She didn't actually expect her roommate to open it, but, well, better safe than sorry.

The last thing she did before they left the room was pack her smaller sketchbook and some pencils. An onsen seemed like a wonderful place to do some nature drawings. Once at the bus Ame found that much of the class was already there, including an unfamiliar person, a new student no doubt. Bag in hand, she approached her classmates with her usual greeting of a small bow.

Every moment Ame spent with a blush on her face brought a feeling of accomplishment to Yuki. Anyone with eyes could see the way his androgynous features took on such a pleased expression. Lips had readily turned themselves into an undeniably mischievous smile befitting of a demon. Meanwhile those blue eyes were no less than a pair of gleaming ice crystals that captured so many spectrums of light that it was downright mesmerizing. In truth, the world was lucky he had not been born an incubus. Otherwise his flirtations and borderline seductions would have been much more. . . sinister in intention.

Until some girl at Kazeyama risked returning his advances they would never know the truth about his romantic intentions.

Perhaps they would find that some things were not so impossible.

Without any further flirting, he quickly helped Ame pack up the rest of her casual clothes. At last it seemed Yuki planned on letting her relax for the rest of their time alone together. So in the street clothes went one after another until everything seemed right. Perhaps it would surprise her to know that no matter how 'perverted' her roommate might have seemed at times. . . he had never gone through her clothes once. Creepy panty raiding was simply not his style. It certainly did not surprise him though when Ame did not ask for help in packing her various undergarments.

Yuki again showed that he could be trusted in certain respects due to the fact that nothing strange or embarrassing happened during her shower. No peeping of any sort. Water temperature never took any sudden dives at all. No one handed her the towel when she reached for it. In fact the towel stayed neatly folded right where she had left it. Even her clothes remained completely unmoved. Of course it helped that he had needed to finish getting dressed.

Furthermore, their walk to the bus stop had been utterly uneventful. In fact the whole thing was completely boring much to the annoyance of a certain snowy-haired youth on campus. Even when the temptation arose to hold Ame's hand just to see what she would do, Yuki valiantly resisted it. Although the words 'saving it for another time' were much more appropriate. The poor girl really had gone through enough for now. Plus there was an entire bus ride ahead of them!

Hibiki saw the blond coming, but he didn't greet him immediately. His attention had been momentarily seized by a green-haired boy scaling the dorm he'd just left. Apparently spider monkeys attended Kazeyama along with all the other circus acts. He watched him with interest until he disappeared into a window, which was about the same time the teen who was peering at him oddly arrived a few feet away.

He listened to Kenta's introduction, but his watchful eyes drifted to the bokken he was toting. Definitely enchanted somehow. He could feel it, as he could feel most forms of magic nowadays, registered as a dull pulse deep in his chest. It looked normal enough. Was it an illusion? Did it matter? Kenta wasn't going to use the thing on him if he was the upstanding class rep. The guy radiated friendliness and goodwill.

"I am. Sayama Hibiki," he said simply, lifting his gaze from the bokken to center in on Kenta. He tilted his head, studying him briefly, and then offered him a small smile. "Aoi-sensei mentioned your name. I hope I'm not an unpleasant surprise."

As he finished speaking, he noticed an incoming herd of people. One of them was staring; Hibiki briefly made eye contact. The boy looked somewhat awestruck… and a little upset. He looked away when he noticed a girl bowing. In return, Hibiki inclined his head, both to her and to the rest of the group in general.

These were his classmates. A couple of girls, a few guys, and… Would you look at that? Another demon. Hibiki had been certain he'd be the odd man out. He couldn't tell what he was, exactly- he hadn't been trained for that yet- but he doubted it would take him long to find out.

Kenta bowed to Hibiki, and when the other classmates approached he smiled to the new boy, "You can introduce yourself on the bus, but I'm afraid we have to get going!" Kenta smiled as the bus pulled up to the stop and Aoi-Sensei ushered the other students inside leaving Kenta, Hibiki and his other new friends out on the stop. "Okay, let's get going, don't want to get left behind!" Kenta nodded, climbing onto the bus after putting his bag in the compartment underneath. He found a group of seats near the middle unoccupied and he waited to see who would want the window seat, he'd much rather sit in the aisle to move about easier if he needed to aid Aoi-Sensei.

As more and more students arrived, Kaelyn found himself slowly inching away from the group. He had no desire to be dragged into the midst of excitement and discussion, nor did he really want to meet the new student. He was suddenly feeling far too anti-social for small talk, choosing instead to keep his headphones over his ears in hopes everyone would get the hint.

When the bus arrived, he followed suit and dispatched his travel bag in the side compartment, then climbed the steps. He immediately and quickly searched the rows for empty ones and thankfully was successful, dropping down into the seat right next to the window. He wouldn't argue or chase away whomever chose to sit beside him, but he did have his favorites...

For the first part of the ride Kaelyn planned to sleep and he hoped that when he woke up, he'd feel less tired. Just the realization that his eyelids felt like lead weights was enough to make him yawn behind a hand and follow up with rubbing his eyes. Blinking a few times to defog his vision, Kaelyn fished his iPod from the pocket of his black double-breasted jacket and scrolled through his playlists to find something 'feel good' to listen to while he slept. In the end he chose his Monkey Majik playlist and settled down in his seat, stretching out his jean-clad legs as much as he could, leaning slightly against the side of the bus and the window.

Naoki had been interested in the new student of course but he watched how Kaelyn held back, not that it was very unusual in that. Still, he didn't want to leave his roomie. For all his air-headed acting, Naoki wasn't a complete idiot though he preferred people to think of him as one. Being smart or a leader, like say, the class Rep was far too much work. Not to mention he didn't want that many eyes on him. It wasn't his style. Even with his bright teal hair he could still blend in and look like any other punky teenage boy who was having a fit of rebellion.

Naoki settled in the seat next to Kae-chan, deciding he might as well sit with his roomie. Besides, the quiet boy always had good music. He flashed a good natured smile at him before scooting a little bit closer and lifting the headphone off the boy's ear. He pressed the side of his face against Kae-chan's without a thought to the boy's personal space. "I like this song. You've got good taste as usual." Naoki gave him a grin and a thumbs up before gently replacing the speaker back on the other's ear. He slumped down in his seat, closing his eyes and stretching out as well, taking up plenty of room on the bench seat. Too much room like usual but instead of full body contact he moved just a touch away with a yawn. Almost giving Kaelyn enough room to stretch out. Almost. Mostly he just liked being in the way.
"Can't wait to see the Onsen..."

He'd just about drifted off to sleep..and then he received a mild heart attack when out of nowhere, someone lifted one half of his headphones away from his ear. Kaelyn woke with a start, jumping a little even, though he was mindful to keep his mouth closed should he accidentally activate his power.

Wide eyes narrowed into annoyed slits as he was forced to stare ahead instead of burning holes in Naoki's head for surprising him. Cheek to cheek was incredibly uncomfortable and it showed in Kaelyn's body language. His shoulders scrunched inward, he fidgeted, legs moving restlessly, and the look on his face was similar to a child about to be sloppily kissed by his crazy, ten-layers-of-lipstick-wearing great aunt.

Kaelyn really did not enjoy having his personal space invaded.

But the compliment about his choice in music did calm him a little and it wasn't as though Naoki remained in that uncomfortable position for more than a few seconds before retreating. Kaelyn wasn't quite sure but he suspected his roommate was already good at reading his demeanor. He supposed Naoki would, if anyone could, considering he spent more time with the green-haired ninja than anyone else.

"Th-thanks," he finally managed, pushing his headphones off of his ears to hang around his neck. Now that Naoki was sitting next to him, sleeping would be difficult so Kaelyn figured he just wouldn't even bother. Please don't let him be my roommate at the Onsen... Even if it was just a night or two, a surprise-free time would be nice. Not that he disliked Naoki of course. But the real question was who he would want to share a room with, if not his dormmate? Immediately his gaze found the class rep and his face flushed enough to make him sink below the back of the bench in front of him and hide his embarrassment.

Like that's ever gonna happen.

Yuki had just finished tossing his duffle bag into the storage compartment before striding up the steps into the bus and strutting down the row. Icy blue eyes scanned across the rows until a decision popped into his mind. Letting his lips twist into an ever so slightly fiendish smirk he headed straight for the row right behind Kaelyn and Naoki. Soon enough the window seat found itself occupied.

But not before a pale hand reached over the seat in front of him and ruffled Kaelyn's hair. Chills would rush down right into the other's scalp and beyond. Most might take it as a display of boyish shenanigans given it was Yuki behind such a dastardly deed. Yet another more observant student might pick up on the fact it only happened a few seconds after the Siren eyed their class rep. Perhaps the Ice Demon thought it would keep his fellow classmate from getting so hot and bothered.

Although it remained to be seen just who dared sit next to Yuki.

Once on the bus Ame was faced with the same decision as everyone else; choosing a place to sit. As what was natural to her usual shy and introverted personality, she wanted to safely pick a window a seat near the back where it was least likely for anyone to choose to sit in the aisle seat next to her. That's what she intended to do as she stepped up onto the bus, but like a moth to a flame her gaze landed on the empty seat next to Yuki. That would be a bad idea, and would no doubt give her roommate the opportunity to tease her during the ride, she'd be rather foolish to claim that spot.

Only seconds to decide as she walked down the narrow aisle, since turning around after the fact would only be awkward. Safe seat in the back, or the far more daring seat that more than likely promised the social interaction she both feared and longed for? At the last moment she bravely planted herself next to the Yuki, legs folding up on the chair and under her long skirt, the smaller bag she held containing her books and sketchpads resting in her lap.

Oh god, just what had she done? For all she knew she may have just been getting in the way, he could have been hoping someone would sit there... As the bus moved towards their field trip destination, she searched her bag for a distraction, pulling out a novel she then opened to an earmarked page, eyes scanning the text until she found where she'd left off.

It was difficult to stay away from the boy that Yukisa had helped or whatever it was that she had done without seeming rude. However, she managed it well enough, at least so she thought, and now it was time to be off for the onsen. She had dreaded the bus ride and been worried sick about who she ought to sit with and that worry was still sitting in her throat, causing her glances to the seats as she got onto the bus to be a little more jittery than was normal. They had filed on with no particular order, but the confident students it seemed were already sitting. That left what appeared to be half a line's worth of far more awkward souls.

Trying to bolster herself, repeating endlessly in her head that no one else knew her secret, Yukisa straightened her posture and slung her bag confidently over one shoulder as she made her way to the back of the bus. She passed by Kenta, smiled at him and waved, but did not want to seem as though she was clinging to him. Instead, she slid back towards the back of the bus, but hadn't seen Ame and Yuki. Frowning, Yukisa froze and backed up a few steps. Was it possible to not sit next to anyone? She felt awfully unsociable for that, but she couldn't help it. Retreating, more, she tried to gauge where to sit that wasn't near anyone.

The bus driver seemed to be impatient, the bus rolling a few feet forward. He turned to the remaining student who had yet to select their seat. It was obvious that he wanted them to stop being awkward wallflowers and just sit so that they could begin the drive. On this, Yukisa could agree. She wanted to get started with this onsen trip as well and quickly chose a window seat that was a bit closer to Kenta. She'd been pushed into being his roommate, after all. It wouldn't be so weird, would it?

From the moment she stepped onto the bus, fleeting glances came Ame's way from a pair of icy blue eyes with a curious shine to them. After the stunt Yuki had pulled in their room the Ice Demon wondered just what would happen on the bus trip between them. Might she just sit herself right in his lap? Unlikely. Would she refuse to speak to him? Quite possibly! Even though he had tried making it up to her there was no way to know for sure unless mind-reading came into play. Certainly an ability that everyone in class surely thanked their lucky stars Yuki did not possess.

Now just where are you going to sit Ame? You look. . . unsure. . .

Despite how cool and collected the Ice Demon looked on the outside as he sat in the window seat, blood akin to liquid frost flowed just a little faster through those chilled veins of crystal. A heart of ice beat with anticipation. Keeping his hands from being too idle or simply killing time, pale hands moved the snowy white trenchcoat out from underneath his rear and let it rest on the side of the seat closest to the window. No one could predict what might happen next. Moments exactly like this one had an effect on teenagers whether they acknowledged them or not. For all he knew she planned on sitting next to Kenta. He certainly treated others with great respect. Especially compared to who had once been the only Demon in their class.

Then it happened.

Ame had actually sat down next to Yuki of her own free will! Not from the work of some diabolical scheme devised by an evil mastermind. Certainly not a result of Yuki wooing her more romantically than Cassanova. Which meant something from within her had brought this on rather than an outside force. Did that mean she was actually interested in him? Flirting with her earlier could have caused some sort of attraction between them! Yet the fact she sat down without a word to him made the Ice Demon ponder the possibility she could be attempting to play mind games with him. Regardless of the fact she had more telekinetic powers than telepathic, it still made some sense that Murasaki might play mind games. . . right?

Denim slid along the fabric of the seat smoothly while distance closed between the two roommates. A glance down at what rested on the pages in Ame's hands for just a few seconds before looking at her face. The way that jet black hair of hers moved with the surreal sprectral grace of a ghost. . . almost made one forget she was actually a human. Certainly not a normal human though. A very special one due to her gifts, though Yuki had claimed it came from her tolerance of his antics. Snow white hair brushed against raven black as a silent testament to how little space remained between them.

"So is the book any good? What is it about? Murder? Adventure? Romance?"
