Upon hearing Erebus bark, Kira drew her blade. She stood at the ready, Erebus now at her side.

From around the corner, the Hate demon looked like a burning flame, but with the posture and shape of a man. Regan angled a knife to reflect moonlight into his eyes

"Finally, someone who knows the basics of demons," said Hate. Ugh, Regan hated the talking ones

Kira rolled her eyes. "Enough talking. Let's dance." She advanced toward the burning Hate. Her blade held in a ready position.

Regan arched her throwing arm, took aim, then threw the knife. It found its' mark in the beasts head. The flames enveloped the blade, growing bigger than before.

"Quicksilver. It burns, but it still tastes nice," said the Hate demon. Regan glanced at Kira. They needed something stronger, like a scratch from a hellhound

Kira was half way to Hate. "Erebus go!" She commanded. The Hound needed no prompting. He immediately closed the distance and locked his jaws on Hate's flaming arm. He raked his claws down its side.

Beau followed Erberus's lead, clawing at the demons ankles. Regan aimed another knife, and threw it at the demon. It shrieked and disappeared, leaving nothing but smoke behind. Regan looked up, and was startled to see the sun peeking over the buildings.

"We better go home. See you at school tomorrow," she said as her and Beau took off down the street.

Hate now vanquished and the sun rising over the horizon, another night's work was coming to an end. Kira had just arrived in town the previous dawn. She hadn't yet secured a residence. "Umm, school, yea." Kira replied unenthusiasticly. Being just over half a millennia in age, Kira had grown increasingly bored with school. History bored her the most. She had seen much of it.

TIME SKIP - The Next Morning

Sitting on the bus, Regan looked around for Kira. Having an Immortal to talk to during this difficult era would make Regan feel safer. Once they pulled up at Overburg High, they all filed off the bus. She made her way to the library to familiarize herself with the social hierachy of this school

Kira walked everywhere she went, unless it was long distance. She walked now to the school. She headed for the library in hoped that literary works from a more familiar time were housed among the shelves.

The library, to no ones' surprise, smelled of mothballs and pensioners. But when Kira walked in, the cold air from behind her sent shivers up her spine. Regan normally liked the cold, but after she spent a few decades in Siberia, she was happy to feel the sun. She gestured for Kira to sit with her

Elluka peeked behind the shelf she was sitting at, seeing the door open. She sat down again when she saw it was another student. The girl opened her book and began answering her math homework.
"Okay, so this equation should be... Ah, never mind!" She shook her head and took a history book from the shelf. Reading about Italy destroying the Austro-Hungarian army for the thousandth time would be nice, though she had all but memorised the book.
