Immediately downloaded the game after my initial post, because I wanted answers. There were so many unexpected things. Only regret was not knowing how to play a VN 'correctly' (lol what is saving for, why would I do that). Anxiously awaiting the next LP of this, though.

Well, Doki Doki counts "New Games" as the same playthrough, so you could just use that and the skip function to get where you need to be.
