Furpocalypse

Zuza had began to wonder what it would be like to live on the moon, contemplating whether life really could be out in the rest of the universe, when she felt a furry ear twitch in the direction of sound. It probably was just some insects rummaging around in the walls, or maybe it was the birds rustling along in their nests. Really, she could of let it roll off her shoulders and carried on being swept away by her thoughts, if it wasn't for the stranger suddenly hurtling downwards. Blinking a few times, it was clear this was no figment of her imagination, there was a young man with bright, frazzled eyes, black cat ears and a tail falling above her. As if it was all in slow motion, the girl was no frightened, and still was surprisingly calm. It dawned on her - this could be a time to practice her magical powers! Squinting her eyes, Zuza flashed a grin as her hand shot up over her chest. Taking in a deep, quick breath, her lips tightened with focus, staring up at the stranger's face. Mumbling in a low, almost inaudible tone, she chanted a few times until a gentle lavender light shone through her fingertips. It was working! It was truly, actually, visually working!!

This was it. Stretching her fingers out from each other, her palms angled inwards a little with the wrists facing one another. The purple light weaved together underneath the cat-boy-thing's body, imitating a net to catch him. For a fleeting moment, Zuza had thought it was kind of like the circus. She had a fond memory tucked away from when her and her family had crawled inside a circus tent long, long ago, when she was just a little mouseling. All the free food that was dropped made her family happy enough, but she had noticed everything else around her going on. Oh, it was simply beautiful, all the dancers, and tightrope walkers, and humans entertaining other humans with use of animals, or streamers, or sparkles! She wondered if the circus would come back someday..
All these thoughts had come and gone from her mind as her 'net' finished forming, catching the being against it, keeping him safe as she concentrated on keeping it together. Once she was sure he was fine, Zuza slipped backwards until she was sitting up again, tilting the net that floated from her fingers to the side. As it turned more vertically than before, the boy was forced to slide off from it on to the bookshelf she had been resting on top of.

Closing her eyes, with a wave of her hands the 'net' evaporated from sight. Smiling brightly, she felt pride in her talents and skill, feeling rather confident now that the spell had worked rather perfectly. Gazing up at her hat to make sure it was still in place, she could hear the soft twitching of her brother behind her somewhere, probably peering out from hiding behind the pages of a book. Right! This cat-boy-thing before her had invaded their hideout! It would make sense if her brother was a little startled, and or worried right now. Perhaps he would feel better if she could get the intruder talking.
"Uhm.. Are you alright?"
Arching an eyebrow, Zuza finally gave her ever-wandering attention to this newcomer. However, it was difficult to really give him the time when she was watching his tail flicker back and forth. So, he was part feline.. kind of like how she was part human now, perhaps. Or, maybe he was an animal formerly, like she was! She just had to find out all about him, now. Who knew when she would meet another like her at this point? Even if they were drastically different, it was another soul beside her brother to communicate with. Why would she give that up?

Not waiting for his response, Zuza fell onto her hands and knees, crawling over closer to him, stopping once she was invading his personal free space. Staring at his ears, observing him silently, she reached up and brought her index and thumb together. Carefully she flicked at one of his ears, grinning to herself as she waited for a reaction. Perhaps in another life, she would have become a scientist, seeing as she enjoyed analyzing and observing living creatures around her. Or, maybe it was just the fact that she was so greatly amused by the shape and lively movements of these ears in front of her. Either way, she was kind of having fun.
