What are some of your favorite openings to ever grace anime?

- I'm a massive fan of any genre that puts my characters in a fish out of the water scenario. This can be time travel, isekai, or even an epic journey type of story. If it's in an anime style, you've got my full and undivided attention.
I'm generally game with most fantasy genres, although my preference is skewed towards high fantasy and historical fantasy. Also, steampunk. Depending on the type of roleplay, modern and sci-fi roleplays are good with me as well. In terms of settings for historical roleplays, I love seeing stories set in the Roman republic or empire, the age of sail, the Victorian era, WWI, WWII, the Cold War, and the early information era, although I might tend to play fast and loose with some historical accuracy in favor of plots and characters.
Naturally though, if the plot's awesome enough, the genre probably won't matter too much!

Never seen the anime (LOL don't judge me) but this is by far and away my fave opening:
2nd fave: XTV opening. Can't find a version online which is weird. Here's the video OP with someone singing a pretty decent spanish cover.

You're probably thinking of this opening, which was made when the rights to "Girls on Film" couldn't be procured for some DVD releases. That's not the original opening though: Girls on Film is. =]
Also I kinda feel like people in here are just listing their fave anime or fave song but not actual good openings? /don'tkillme

Actually, I was just posting Opening songs I liked... were, were we supposed to be basing this on the opening cinematic?

If that's the case, I still stand by what I posted. Drifters, Death Parade, Yuri on Ice, and (maybe...) Attack on Titan are all amazing animations. Code Geass... well, I like the music but I wouldn't place the animation on any type of special ranking.
