Fate/Zero and Fate/Stay Night

Well... The hardest one for me was properly explaining Noble Phantasms to people who haven't watched/read anything related to Fate. Some of the people I've roleplayed with simply assume that it's a Servant's ultimate attack but overlook the fact that it should also embody the heroic spirit's legend. Some of them went and create Noble Phantasms that don't really match up to their Servant's origin (and in some cases made absolutely no sense).
 
A noble phantasm is the trump card of any heroic spirit, symbolic of the their legend/historical facts. It can be an ability, an attack, a special item, and so on. Using them generally consumes a large amount of mana. For weapons with extremely powerful legends, it will often get reclassed as a special attack with the weapon rather than a constant ability of the weapon itself.
 
That's a good way of simplifying it I suppose. I do hope we get some really creative Noble Phantasms. XD
