Weapons:
His primary weapons are his Kingdom Treasure, a longsword called the Grey Fang (see Mana Knight image), and his flaming breath, but he is skilled in a wide variety of weaponry.
Bio:
Born over a millennium ago, Vahzah was raised in a household in the service of Lady Echidna, with various members of his family acting as her personal guard. When he was ages twenty five he entered the ranks of her guard, serving in that role for over a century until his parents and two younger siblings were murdered by a demon. As such, he petitioned Lady Echidna to be made a Mana Knight. After a variety of trial, she gave him the Kingdom Treasure known as the Grey Fang, and allowed him to craft his Mana Knight form. As such, he began to track the demon that slew his family, eventually slaying it before beginning a full search for Lucifer. He occasionally finds himself being sidetracked, but it typically is worth the experience. He has, in this time, made about a dozen humans into exorcists. He, however, has constantly found himsel back at square one due to Lucifer's sheer elusiveness.
Other:
Everyone who he has allowed to get close to him as John Smith and as his true identity have died. As such he tries to remain distant, often refusing to stay in anywhere for longer than a week unless ordered otherwise.
Accepted x3Finished this.
Both are accepted welcome aboard. This RP looks like a lot of fun! I've made two character here. I saw you were lacking in the villain department so theres one demon. Let me know if I should nerf him, as I was unsure what extent demons powers are in this world. I'll mainly be RPing as the first character though, although I'll be writing from both perspectives often.
Human Exorcist
Name: Alessa Byrien
Age: 18
Personality: Alessa is a deeply empathetic individual, often entirely unable to distance herself form the whims and tribulations of those around her regardless of her relationship to them. Oftentimes, throughout her childhood, she would assume adult-like responsibilities when dealing with her younger brothers, even before that became a necessary attitude to adopt. Many who cross her path have been charmed by her soft-spoken, but authoritative behavior, but her desire to connect and protect those around her often means there are very few people who have ever believed there to be a deeper conflict within her in need of conquering.
While she does actively stand for the good of others, Alessa's emotional weaknesses are quite complex. Firstly, she feels--regardless of how many friends she makes--utterly alone for reasons to be explained in her biography. Secondly, Alessa does not believe she will ever be capable of true strength both because of her past and because of a general lack of belief in her own abilities as an exorcist.
Appearance:
Alessa also wears a white lily in the crook of her left ear, but instead of being cut, the stem of the flower wraps around the back of her head, and its wispy root fibers can be carefully discerned to be entangled with each strand of her hair.
Mana Type:
Alessa mimics the abilities of a Botanical Mana, and has been previously trained in minor nature magics by the Knight responsible for her abilities. As of present, her abilities include a minor healing enchantment to speed her recovery, or the recovery of her allies, and the ability to communicate in some part with the plants around her. While this is an extremely strenuous task for her human self, she spends literally entire days pushing her gifts to the max she can i nan attempt to strengthen her ability to command and bend small plants and trees to her will.
Weapons:
Alessa carries a long, fibrous whip composed of a heat resistant outer casing, and living vine within. Because the whip's core is that of an actual plant, Alessa can still command its movements in times of dire straits where she and her weapon have been separated. Of course, remote usage is extremely tiresome to her, so this is very much a last resort tactic. The whip's thrice-bound vine is extremely dense, and so not easily broken. Moreover, it has a weighted tip, causing it to quickly coil when struck across bars, poles, or other similarly sized ornaments. Because of this, Alessa has used it to travel in an almost parkour-esque fashion through the city she lives in, swinging from sign-post to roof gutter on many occasions.
As a combat weapon, Alessa carries an nine-inch knife she has affectionately dubbed "Bushwacker", but will prefer to end any confrontation in a peaceful manner if necessary. As a result, the knife is rarely used. This, however, does not mean she neglects to practice imbuing it with her magic, as she very much intends to use it against the sole target of her ire when she is at last strong enough to face him.
For a generally upbeat and brave girl, Alessa is paralyzed by a deep fear she developed before becoming an exorcist. It wasn't always that way though: her family was comprised of a dedicated father, loving mother, and three rambunctious brothers she often found herself the unofficial shepherd of. As the eldest, it was always her unspoken duty to look out for her brothers, and for a city family this was often made a reality when her parents were away for long hours during the day.
When Alessa was thirteen, her mother died in a train accident, immediately catapulting her into a world of responsibility she had not been before. Because her father worked long hours, it was up to her to safeguard and care for her brothers, which she took to with almost incredible ease. Many years passed, and as the tragedy of her mother's passing faded from memory, and Alessa--now a sixteen year old girl transitioning into her third year of high-school--began to accept her role for what it was, the Byrien family was, unbeknownst to any of them, once again at the doorstep of misfortune.
Of course, at the time, the world of Mana and its war against Lucifer were completely hidden to the eyes of the public--including Alessa--so it was to her great surprise one day when she happened upon what she could only describe to countless therapists thereafter as a nightmare. It was a rainy summer afternoon, and her entire family had gone out for a day in the city to enjoy an afternoon of movie-watching, clothes shopping, and restaurant dining in what had become a rare family outing. As the sun began to set behind the impossibly thick clouds above, traffic slowed the movement of the Byrion family vehicle until they had come so near to a complete stop that Alessa could see with complete clarity what appeared to be a human body sprawled on the ground in a growing pool of rainwater runoff, and another more sinister looking liquid.
Never the callous one, Alessa persuaded her father to pull over and enter the alleyway of the silhouetted figure to make sure they weren't in any danger before continuing home. As the whole family filtered out of the vehicle and into the narrow opening ahead of them, a faint smell of smoke permeated the air around the downed figure. A man well into his sixties lay before them, an open wound upon his chest. Before anyone could dial for 911, an impossibly tall figure emerged from the shadows. Alessa doesn't remember exactly what happened next, but a coil of what appeared to be pure flame seemed to leap from the figure's hands towards her all at once. Bodies threw themselves before her, and when her petrified eyes finally began to register what lay before her, her entire family lay scorched at her feet, massive bleeding craters in their chest identical to the man they had entered the alleyway to protect.
The assailant raised his hand again, and another flame began to grow from the base of his elbow to his fingertip, but a woman's cry from behind Alessa caused the man to retract the flame. He looked directly at her just once, and uttered the single phrase, "Maybe next time.", before disappearing into the concrete labyrinth behind him. When the police questioned her, she knew they would never believe what she had saw, so she painted a picture of brutal mugging instead. The next year was spent in apathy and depression, but by sheer chance she met what she would later deduce to be a knight of Mana. Determined to not be broken by what she later learned to be a demon, she did everything in her power to train and command the magic of nature, spending her days as an emancipated youth trawling the streets for anyone in need of her protection, but always keeping an eye and ear out for any sign of the man who killed her family. Whatever it took, she would find him, and she would make him pay.
Demon
Name: Terios Val'dromas
Age: ???
Personality: Unfortunately, Terios does not have many friends who can attest to the accuracy of his opinion, but if you were to ask him what he thought his own personality was like, he would probably laugh at you for thinking you were worth his time and then set you ablaze. In short, sociopath does not come close to describing the sheer lack of connection he has to any other living being besides his own self. Terios has few interests, but above all of them is the betterment of his own position. Within the demonic hierarchy (a savage one to be sure) he has spent years using his patience and wit to outsmart his commanding officers and, one by one, surpass the strengths of any demon who stood as his better.
Of course, there is always someone better, which means that Terios remains perpetually ambitious. He is motivated by personal growth, and the possibility of power. In fact, the sole reason he carries out the orders of his masters without qualm is because he knows that the frail, bountiful souls of humanity will be his to absorb so long as he carries out his dark mission. With the spirits of the innocent, he grows in power feeding on everything and everyone he can safely prey on away from the eyes of both mortals and the increasing number of Mana knights.
Sin Type: Gluttony
Gluttony is rarely represented by the powerful, but Terios is a glutton for power. In fact, the only thing separating him from greed is the fact that once he's retrieved his prey, he uses his rewards to please his own self by devouring all that made them who they were in life. He gains experience and power for each mortal he converts to demon hood by devouring those parts which had made them human to begin with.
Powers: Terios's unique magic allows him to tap into the memories, feelings, and essence of his mortal prey. Long, intangible swaths of pure hellfire radiate from his body like appendages, and can mean instant fatality to any non-magical prey unable to stop their approach. The fires burn through the flesh, eating away at the body, but also acting as a link between Terios and his captured prey. As long as the fires remain in contact, Terios can easily devour the bodies and souls of those unable to outmatch his demonic speed and strength. It takes about five minutes for Terios to completely drain the soul of a human, however, and if he is unable to remain consistent contact for a whole five minutes, not all of the human soul will be consumed leaving the body unable to be converted to demonhood. Additionally, while the every second of contact rejuvenates Terios's magical powers, only a complete drain grants him any permanent increase in strength, however minimal each individual kill's contribution may be.
When he devours a prey's body, the human's vitality is added to his own, but the true strength of his ability is that Terios greedily adds his preys memories and feelings to his mind as well. For the average Joe he feasts on, these memories are quickly shifted through and discarded, but the strength of this power comes into full effect when Terios defeats magical enemies of his own caliber, as he can quickly assess the weaknesses of his victims and adapt his strategies to combat those of the same type in the future.
Although that is his unique power, his minor abnormalities include greater strength, recovery speed, and agility than a human. Moreover the tendrils he uses to kill and absorb the life force of his prey can act as extra appendages capable of granting him spider-like movement for quick escapes or speedy advances.
Human Appearance:
Demon Form:
Weapons:
Terios mainly uses his magic when out for blood, but as any demonic soldier, he has a weapon capable of dispatching more powerful foes as well. His sword is called "Scorchmaw", and is boiling hot to the touch to any non-demon who might attempt to wield its power. Like him, the sword is mired in gluttony, and greedily saps a portion of magic from its victim whenever it makes contact, which makes it a more deadly weapon the longer it stays in battle.
Bio: Terios is an original Mana Human who, after the fall of Adam, became a demon like many of his former brothers. Since arriving on earth under the command of Lucifer's generals Terios was tasked with an indefinite mission of secrecy and espionage until their further notice. Unlike some demons who operated in groups, Terios was very much a solo act, but this was only half his decision, and half the decision of those superiors who wished to keep a greater leash on his abilities.
After arriving on earth he spent years roaming from city to city, occasionally reporting back to his heads about the affairs of mortal societies and what it meant for the demon's who had integrated themselves into earthen society. For a time, Terios obeyed the will of his masters and did not kill indiscriminately, but this all changed when he was, at last, given express permission to begin a conversion process amongst the humans he had been hiding in for so long. After suppressing his powers for a great deal of time, his first kills almost ended in failure as--at least in one case--there were survivors.
Now, several years since being granted permission to begin conversion, Terios travels from city to city discreetly killing in as unorganized a pattern as possible so as to keep a low profile in the face of the increasing number of Mana Knights reported to be arriving on earth. His methods are like those of a serial killer, but because he leaves no organic evidence, he has yet to alert the attention of even human authorities, with his growing list of victims often being considered unrelated. Even now, as the conflict between demons and Mana creatures grows ever closer to a tipping point, Terios intends to remain undetected until the growing chaos provides him with an opportunity to move further up the ladder.
