"Order or Chaos? ...is there really a difference?" -Unknown
'The Fire that burned Iron' they called it; 1/4th of the city of iron, up in smoke and the remaining up in arms. The families and the people who knew the thousands that died in the catastrophe wanted justice, whether it meant the criminals who did this would be behind bars...or 6 feet under.

Tie Men Police Department established to the public that they were all for delivering justice to the ones who caused the fire and will make absolutely sure to put every single person involved behind bars for life. Nearly half of the media and most of the city's citizens got behind TMPD, but there were still some media who criticized and doubted them. Plus, there was still other citizens who wanted 'true justice'...

Enter 'The Fallen':

A group that has been on the side of the law before, individuals under this faction are unknown to the public and the police. Through various video outlets, acting anonymously behind voice changers, hacking capabilities, and the calling card of a crow, they've expressed their anger at what has happened in the city and plans to 'put out the flame'. For the people who wanted blood, they finally have a side they could get behind...but, this was met with a warning by the police:

"If The Fallen gets involved in any way, shape, or form, they will be declared criminals in the eyes of the law."

The Fallen replied with:

"Even if we become Tie Men's most wanted, we will still proceed to fight for the people and get revenge for them."

So, in the aftermath of a pure tragedy, war for justice brewed between the ones who uphold the law and ones who rebel against it. But, in all of this, both sides may possibly have ulterior motives. Perhaps that's why this city is sometimes dubbed...

I'd like to welcome you guys to Egoist City RP. If you're not invited and you're reading this, sorry but I have to ask you to leave. If you have been invited, then continue onwards.

This RP is a Futuristic, Episodic Roleplay with supernatural elements. I am the game master, SimplyCrow, who will be handling the NPCs and the dice rolling for all characters, including player characters. Before we move on, I need to affirm my duty as a GM:

  • I promise to not railroad the players unless in certain, small situations that require it to advance the story
  • I promise to be fair and friendly, yet strict
  • I promise to follow the rules of Iwaku

Now that I've done that, let me present some of the information that you guys need to know before I allow you guys to create your characters. More info will be presented as the roleplay rolls along.

  • On December 21st, 2012, an asteroid came close to striking the earth. When it suddenly disappeared though, nobody really asked where it went (besides a few curious minds and scientists). However, they couldn't have predicted what would happen after such thing transpired.

At midnight, on New Years Day 2013, millions breathed their last breath.

This caused massive concerns as to what led to their deaths. But, none of the known diseases connected to this whatsoever. Even worse, 1-2 billion people would be bedridden with an unknown virus around the same time.

The stock market crashed, businesses went under, and some countries fell into anarchy with governments losing people due to the death and virus. It was a 'Grand Depression' across the world and some speculated that this was it: End of the world.

But, then, something happened: The virus suddenly vanished. Not only that, but a certain scientist by the name of Alius Occultus discovered something that, to others, was groundbreaking: The virus and the New Year Tragedy was all connected to the December 21st asteroid.

He went on to explain that the corpses that he studied and the sick patients that had the virus both had one thing in common; They had a mysterious energy, which he dubbed Neo-Energy, that has never been seen before or existed prior to Dec. 21st. With this information, he proposed that the asteroid didn't necessarily disappeared, but disintegrated into this energy and carried across the world like the common cold. Not only that but after doing some more research on people who didn't go down to the virus, he discovered that they did, indeed, have the virus as well but was 100% fine. Perhaps, everyone had the virus, but the effects of the N-Energy was different per person.

Of course, this would have been the end of this disaster, right? Well, there was one more thing that happened; The Neo-Human/Normal Human Conflict. So, how this came about was that, starting shortly after the virus 'disappeared', Alius decided to study 5 people who had it and see what the after effects were. To his surprise, all of them could pull off some supernatural feat, including himself and he wasn't even bedridden with the virus.

Naturally, others discovered their own abilities and a whole new world of discoveries was born. Scientists like Alius had a field day with this, studying these supernatural people and seeing what type of power that contained. For example, some guy had the ability to create razor wires from his hands while another could control others' minds. It was an exciting time, but like with everything else, there were people against it.

(Just to get through with this long section, here's everything in a nutshell: Normal humans protested, Supernaturals believed they still deserved every right given to any human. They fought, laws were made against supernaturals, war broke out, humans discovered they could use N-Energy in weapons and used it against them, they came to a stalemate, and the world was divided in two: one side for supernaturals, the other for normal humans. End of backstory!)
  • In the world of Egoist City, supernatural abilities stem from the Neo-Energy inside of every NEC (Neo-Energy Contained) Human. But, even though everyone's powers are different in many ways, there are tons that fit in 1, 2, and/or all 3 categories. These are as follows:

Elemental Abilities: You know, your basic elemental powers of Water, Earth, Fire, Air, and everything between. Powers that connect to the elements are connected to this category.

Shadow Abilities: So, if you've watched/seen Persona or Jojo-related content, this is self-explanatory. But, since not everyone has, I'll explain anyway: These types of powers contain the ability to summon and control a being, known as shadows, to fight along side you. Whether this shadow can unleash supernatural power depends on the user.

Object Abilities: Again, self-explanatory, but I'll explain anyway; Powers that fall into this category relate to the ability to summon objects, like weapons and such.

Abilities that don't fall into this category are rare. In a study by Alius Occultus, 95% of all supernaturals fit into one of these 3 categories and/or fall into 2 or all of them.
  • In Egoist City, there are two factions that consider each other rivals, yet pursue the same goal of bringing their own kind of justice to the criminals behind The Fire of '31. You could say that they are two sides of the same coin in a way. Anyway, they are as follows:

    k2yd0y.png

Tie Men Police Department (TMPD) is, of course, the police officials of the city that stand with the law. Compared to real life officials, TMPD is on the level of the United States FBI in power and has quite an influence in the city government. Because of this, they have the highest quality of tech you can find on the supernatural side of the world. However, due to its power and the fact that this is a job, officers cannot act against the orders of a higher official with the fear od demotion, firing, or something worse...or a slap on the wrist, who knows.

They were established at the same time Tie Men was, in 2021. 9 years went by with them gaining support by the city and the media, becoming prestigious in the process...however, in 2030, there was a huge scandal that ended with the Head of the Police and people below him ending up behind bars. Some say they were working with the mafia; others say they allowed cases to go unsolved to protect law-breakers; in any case, this caused a wavering in trust from the general public and media. If they were to bring down the people who caused the Fire of '31, perhaps they can get that trust back as people who stand for the justice of Tie Men.

    2ppejy1.png

The Fallen is an underground group organization that follows their own sense of justice away from the law. They have an undetected, social network that connects members to each other quickly and lets another know about certain things that they can act upon in the city. Due to this faction not having any leaders of the sort, members can act when they want to. However, its disadvantage is that most of the members don't even know who the other members of the organization are, resulting in it technically being a disorganized group of chaotic freedom fighters.
And the individual has to have their own means of attacking, so they'll have to rely on their magical and physical abilities.

Nobody really knows when they formed or who formed it, but they have been criticized by the media for going against the law. However, with the police losing trust with the general public, most have turned to The Fallen and everything that they have accomplished, hoping that they will do the job that TMPD couldn't. Bringing down the people behind The Fire of '31 will solidify their increasing popularity.

AGE: 27
GENDER: Female
SEXUALITY: Bisexual
PICTURE:
Date-A-Live-font-b-Cosplay-b-font-Costume-5-years-ago-Ver-font-b-Kurumi.jpg

APPEARANCE DESCRIPTION: Lilith is quite a peculiar girl. Even though she has to fight and be in life threatening situations, she applied while being in a wheelchair. This is because she got involved in an accident years before joining TMPD and it crippled her legs. What makes it more interesting is that even though she is in one normally, her evil personality has the ability to run, walk and jump around as she likes. She also wears an eyepatch to cover up her golden eye which she doesn't like showing.
PERSONALITY: Lilith is not a simple girl. Especially not when you try and talk with her. This is because she has multiple personality disorder. She has her sweet and calm personality but also a very evil and twisted one who enjoys suffering and pain. When you are around her it is advised you handle with caution. And definitely do not try to provoke the demon hidden inside.

Even though she is with the Fallen she is still very dangerous for their standards. Most of the time she is like this during her evil personality that is uncontrolable and reckless. This is why she warns even her allies to not interfere with her when she is like this due to her becoming too dangerous to handle without having to kill her.

BIO: Will add this later as I still have to make up a good story.

ABILITY: Hexenbiest
With this ability Lilith changes her form into something called a Hexenbiest. Hexenbiest's are twisted creatures which have the appearance of a rotting corpse. They get magical powers to make themselves stronger and can be quite dangerous. But not only d othey know magic but they also know a lot about potions/alchemical concoctions. Generally their voices will also become slightly distorted along with every movement of their body their bones will loudly crack.

Now to get to explaining what a Hexenbiest can do with her powers:
The first thing on the list is psychokinesis. What this means is that Lilith can lift up objects as big as a car with only her mind. However the biggest the object the slower it will move when lifted up.

The second thing is the knowledge of making alchemical concoctions. She can make special drinks like poisons or love potions but also joking once like laxatives. However she doesn't have to be in Hexenbiest form to prepare one, she does need some of her own blood while in the form to finish off a brew.

The third ability she gets to play with is her scream of pain. Lilith can let out a loud screech which is very high pitched. It causes glass to shatter and will hurt the ears of everyone around her but her own.

Her fourth and last ability is that of super human strength. She can punch through a brick wall if she wishes to but the stronger she makes her punch the longer it means she will be unable to the move due to the punches being quite an exhausting thing to perform.

Example of how Lilith will look when changing forms:

AGE:

GENDER:
Masculine Male

SEXUALITY:
Bisexual

PICTURE:

ALIGNMENT:
Lawful Evil

PERSONALITY:
Gage is a classical man who enjoys what he calls the "finer things" in life. He claims himself a very organized person, almost to the point of being diagnosed with having some variant of OCD. He's a calculated person that makes sure each step counts, viewing life as a sort of dance in which one must be both flexible and precise.

He's also a bit of a narcissist, finding himself to be quite the "fancy man", though he'd behoove anyone to use the phrase to describe him, believing it sounds derogatory. His wardrobe attests to his liking of the classical style, opting to wear more noble-style clothing that most would consider outlandish in the current day and age. Gage is one to believe the outfits people where nowadays strip them of their humanity.

For Gage, everything must have its place and time — he's meticulous. While he tries to maintain a calm demeanor, he can only handle so much "hodge podge" before that composure is shattered and someone needs to be "dearly punished".

In work, Gage is a man of order and justice, being of the opinion that the law is above all else, for if man has no law, what has he but anarchy? Despite the people's occasional disliking of how the TMPD has been handling things recently, Gage believes it is all a process.

Justice and order cannot be rushed.

BIO:
Gage Foster was born to a wealthy police family, and naturally grew up viewing the law as being above all else. His parents often kept him home, believing society would corrupt him if he were exposed to the outside world. Afforded only the best tutors, he excelled in academics and became fascinated with knowledge. He also enjoyed music lessons growing up, finding his first love in the piano.

As he grew older, he fell in love with the era of the classics, his ever changing wardrobe and speech mannerisms reflecting this. His life was one of gaiety and order. Everything had its own place and time in his world.

As he grew older and began venturing out into the world, he became dissatisfied with the way things were, often wondering why the world's beauty had to end at his doorstep. With the recent founding of the Tie Men, Gage saw it as his opportunity to bring order and justice to the city himself.

He found the early respectability of the organization to be commendable, and proved ignorant to the corruption within once it was exposed in 2030. With the Fire of '31, he hopes to re-establish the values held by the TMPD and show the public that law truly is above all else, and that justice shall be done by its hand, and its hand alone.

ABILITY:
Weapon Summoning – Gage is capable of summoning assorted weaponry at will, but the amount he can summon depends on how many hands the summoned weapon requires.

Summonable Weapons List:
Gunblade (Pistol)
Dual Miquelet Pistols
Dual Rapiers

Law Book (Ability)

Once an enemy is within the Kill or Capture Threshold, Gage may choose to summon his Law Book. The Law Book includes Jury, Judge, and Executioner phases.

Jury: A die is rolled to determine if the target is innocent or guilty. If innocent, the target is automatically Captured. If guilty, Law Book continues to the Judge phase.

Judge: The judge (Gage) chooses a punishment for the target, which may or may not include death.

Executioner: The punishment chosen by the judge is carried out.

NAME: Robin Turnickey
AGE: 25
GENDER: "Get yer ass outta here with all that gender nonsense. Whatta I look like, eh? A guy!"
SEXUALITY: "What I likes, I takes."

PERSONALITY: Robin takes no shit from others and gives a lot of it return. He enjoys messing with others and has little to no filter with his words. Many at the police department see him as deranged, even maniacal, as he often seems more interested in looking cool and delivering painful justice to the streets than upholding the law himself. He seems obsessed with giving others a taste of the pain they had inflicted on others while in violation of the law, and revels in the agony he causes to others.

Despite all this, if a keen eye sees through his rather crude and crass flaws, he is a man that will stick by you through thick and thin. Though his words and thoughts seem to come at random and with no regard for decency, he has a warrior's mentality, always scanning for threats and danger, and will be the first to take a bullet for his squad. He has a soft spot in his heart for his fellow squad leaders and their duty, and will fight to protect that honor in his own unique, sassy way. It is these qualities that made him a squad leader despite his extremely risky personality and more than one...incident.

LIKES & DISLIKES:

DISLIKES:

✓ Injustice
✓ Messes
✓ Sitcoms

LIKES:
✓ Spaghetti
✓ Dance
✓ Violent recompense to criminals

BIO: Robin was born to a normal family before the meteor 'hit' Earth; it was noted he was hyperactive at times, overly enthusiastic to the point of harming others as a child by his teachers. He was a rebellious child, often sent to the corner for breaking an object or harming a fellow student. He watched adult cartoons at a young age, quickly learning to swear and mouth off with the best of them. His parents loved him, but were concerned that he was quickly becoming a bad influence on himself and others. Despite their best attempts, he remained resilient to their parenting, yet the family remained strong and full of love.

Naturally, tragedy struck. Both parents fell to the mysterious illness that swept the world, yet he seemed completely unaffected. With no relatives to speak of beyond his parents, Robin found himself alone and incapable of dealing with the tragic knowledge that he outlived his parents, his providers of his sustenance and livelihood. He took to the streets, trying to find some way of dealing with the guilt, and quickly took to vandalism, finding that spray-painting his troubles seemed to calm him, make him feel better.

That was, until the Tie Men came to be. Robin had gained some notoriety as a rather famous vandalizer over the years, and had gained a bit of a gang and a bit of an ego. He thought he was above the law and began committing new crimes, robbery, streaking, and everything in between. He seemed a man hellbent on fighting society...until the Tie Men finally chased him down. It was there he unveiled another secret he had been hiding: Over those years as a youth, he had discovered he had become a walking battery. Electricity flowed through his veins like blood, and he was able to control it much like it were a part of his body. He was already becoming quite proficient with his powers, and used them to resist arrest; in his struggle, a Tie Man was killed, but his efforts were ultimately in vain.

Charged with murder, the judge offered him two sentences: life in prison, or a second chance replacing the man he killed in the TMPD. Not wanting to be trapped in an iron box for the rest of his life, Robin chose the latter, becoming a heavily-watched member of the police he so despised not weeks ago. He quickly found he had proficiency at this profession as well. His first act, which earned him commendations across the board, was the takedown of his old gang by his own hand. He was quickly promoted to squad leader, though many in the department fear and loathe his roguelike tendencies and ruffian methods of dealing with miscreants. Rumors have circled the depot about backhanded deals with the judge and the higher-ups to stifle more than one death of a perp at his hands. Despite the allegations, Robin still stands strong, casting his leering eye over the city, searching for the next criminal to take down.

ABILITY:

Main ability: Electrokinesis: The simple yet highly effective ability of producing and controlling electricity. He can manifest his ability thusly, in attacks he has named himself.

1. Power Generator: Robin produces electricity naturally, and in the heat of battle, it ramps up naturally, causing his body to crackle with painful static. This produces a passive contact effect of shocking anyone foolish enough to touch him, or be touched by him. This effect also passes on to the weapons he carries while he is in contact with them.

2. Zap, Muthafucka: Robin can build up a charge in his palms and fire it as a bolt of electricity towards his opponent. This attack is extremely fast, and direct hits may leave residual static in the enemy, causing residual damage until it dissipates. The longer he charges this attack, the stronger it is and the longer static can remain in the enemy. Favorite target: the nuts.

3: Charge Barrier: By rapidly polarizing the particles in front of him, Robin can create an electrical shield around himself or others nearby, protecting them from oncoming threats.

4: Flash: Robin builds electricity within him and releases it as a burst of bright light. This attack causes no damage, but can blind unprepared foes.

5: 'Overkill': Robin takes his electrical charges and condenses them into a pair of electric whips. Using these whips causes both physical and electrical damage, including the chance to leave residual shocks. Robin's favorite attack to use on resisting criminals.

NAME: Connor McKinley
AGE: 27
GENDER: Male
SEXUALITY: Straight
PICTURE:
a9fe7668b8886bc37be5f0ce855ee745.jpg

PERSONALITY: Often times he is the judge, jury, and executioner. The definition of Lawful Neutral, if you break the law then you deserve to be punished. However he does not wait for all of the evidence, a guilty until proven innocent kind of thing. His flawless record is a testament to how determined he is and how he will doggedly follow a case until it is closed.

LIKES & DISLIKES:

DISLIKES:

✓ Criminals
✓ People that say what he's doing isn't right.
✓ Anarchists, communists, basically anyone that says capitalism is bad.

LIKES:
✓ Unwinding every now and again, ie spa.
✓ Catching a criminal and knowing that there's one less scum bag on the streets.
✓ His dog. Spa's are expensive, a dog's love is fairly cheap in comparison.

BIO: Connor was raised to be a cop. His father was the chief of police in the town that he grew up in, as was his grandpa, and great grandpa. In fact, if you looked at the records, a fair portion of police chiefs were part of the McKinley family. So it was only natural that Connor was to become a cop and work to become the next chief of police. But he was moved to Tie Men, a tumultuous city compared to the small town he had come from.

Life was rough for a while, him having to adapt quickly to the fast pace environment he was suddenly thrown into. But he managed, and even picked up a stray while he was at it. The mutt was one of the things he looked forward to seeing day after day and helped a lot with him getting used to everything. Now he's able to keep up with the quick pace of the city, his dog trotting alongside him.
2e2488e379b13d25ebc10d3a69e8f710.jpg

ABILITY: Connor has the ability to summon an ethereal knight of old. Well, they're blue and has fog coming off of them, but he's as real as you or me. The knight's gender cannot be determined, but it follows Connor's orders and can take a beating, so that's all that matters to him.

Along with being able to summon the knight, he can also summon the Blue Knight's long sword and armor, whatever good that'll do him in this age of guns.
