EDWARD CULLEN
"Good morning, class. We have a new student with us today ..."
Edward had heard this introduction countless times before, but this was the first time he had heard it in Swedish. When their time in Forks had expired, the Cullens had decided that it was time for a change in scenery, therefore, they had moved to the cold and overcast Scandinavian region. Edward was looking forward to living in a new country -- one hundred years of America was enough for anyone. Rosalie did not agree, but like with so many other things in their relationship, Edward just ignored her.
Standing in front of a class full of Swedish teenagers, Edward felt somewhat comfortable. He was used to being the new student. He anticipated his time at this particular school to be the same as the time he had spent at every other school he had attended throughout his immortal life. He would attend for a year or so. He would graduate. He would pretend to be destined for a University far away, and then he would feign attending that university until Carlisle's colleagues noticed that he had stopped ageing. Edward was not dismayed or saddened by this process — in fact, he embraced it. In an immortal life, one likes to cling to normalcy when one could.
The teacher introduced him to the rest of the class. "I'm sure you will all make him feel welcome. Now, dear, take a seat next to Oliver. Oliver, you'll show Edward around today, won't you?"
Edward made his way over to the desk where the indicated young man named Oliver was seated. "Hej," he said, his Swedish accent flawless. He had learned the language thoroughly whilst they had been moving in, and at this point, he sounded like a native speaker.
