As Sam pushed the final button and effectively sealed the exits, she turned to Makarios and nodded.
"Make sure there's no footage being recorded. We can't have this getting out."
The male took off out of the security panel, passing cowering individuals and a few who tried to block his way to ask what in the world was happening. He didn't have time to answer questions. Hell, if he didn't keep moving, he feared the fatigue would catch up to his body and he would completely keel over. He really should practice more with his amulet.
That thought alone scared him in more ways than one. The thought of willingly succumbing to the power of the amulet set his teeth on edge and he had to force himself to focus on the situation at hand. It was time to find out just what the hell was happening on the first floor.

Stammering was all she got from this man, and as he looked at her, eyes full of fear, images began to rush back to her. Images of a village, her village? Something about that image felt so distant and far off. All around her there was chaos and screaming. Screams for vengeance, blood and murder. Her village, beloved unto her had turned against her. The images flashed in a dizzying array and with each flash a feeling of pandemonium and the like. It was enough to make her nauseous as she tried to concentrate and bring her to the present.
The present!
It occurred to her all at once that the far off feeling, the one that she couldn't place, was that of time. She didn't know how she knew, but Arianna felt the sensation dawn on her that her village was far off in a different place and time. But how? How had that even happened?
Almost as if in response, her mind sent a solitary image to her, one that made her arms weaken and her knees buckle. Her vortex subsided and the man she had held fell to ground, the wind idling to a dull spin in the room. His face stood out in her mind. The soulless abyss that served as his eyes and a portal in to the core of malice. His soft smile of pride and accomplishment as he watched her life burn before his eyes.
Arianna curled over, hands tangled through her hair and screamed as his face seared in to her mind. Her muscles locked and spasms ripped through her as she tried to maintain focus and consciousness. An outpour of magical energy left her body, creating another gust of wind. She couldn't control herself, her vision blurred as she stared at the ground. A series of thoughts began that she couldn't stop. That man, her fate, her parents, her love, everything she had known had been taken from her in only an instant. For what? What had been the purpose? What had she done to deserve this? Why!?
Such was her panic, that she never heard the click or fire from the gunmen. The next thing she knew was searing pain as she fell over, blood welling from her side.

Makarios ran up as he saw the girl—all of her—fall over. With a yell, he ran to her. The mask he'd grabbed from a fallen gunman came in handy for disguising himself, but he saw her face as he came up and she began to panic. Without any clothes on, her shivering had already started. He lifted up his mask to show his face and calmed her. That was when he heard another click and his body went on instinct. With the agility of Snake, he darted to the side, the bullet burying itself into the ground where he had just been. He saw the gunman and ran low to the ground, twisting and weaving, closing the distance. The man tried to fire again but Maki was already upon him. He ducked down more, swinging his foot out and taking the man's feet out from under him. As the gunman fell, Makarios dove for the gun and slammed its butt into the man's head.
As soon as he had, he smelled something. A scent so familiar that he almost balked. It couldn't be! He hadn't smelled it at all before the gunmen had arrived, so then…it had to be him! Peering up again, Makarios saw the hooded figure that had to be Caleb taking on a few gunmen of his own. But this fire fight didn't seem to be boding well for Cal. With a sprint, Makarios circled around the fight, keeping as quiet as he possibly could. A display that had been knocked over provided the perfect jumping point for him as he came up behind the two remaining gunmen. One of them left his place of cover, trying to close the gap between Caleb and himself. The other one, however, stayed where he was. Makarios leaped into the air, sailing for the remaining gunman and tackled him, covering his mouth before he could cry out. Pulling back his fist, Makarios made a jab straight for the man's throat, removing any chance for sound. He made quick work of him after that and peered over the cover, and saw his opportunity.
Leaping over cover, Makarios bounded across the distance and tackled the last gunman from behind. Disarming him and subduing him, Makarios looked up and lifted his mask just enough for his mouth to show. He smirked at Caleb and put it back on, heading over to him quickly.
"Good of you to finally join us," he told him. "We've gotta get out of here and quickly. But we can't leave her. She's got to come with us." He jerked a finger toward the fallen woman in the center of it all. He had checked the wound when he approached her before, It had grazed her, but it was still something that needed attention and if she went the official route, she'd likely end up in prison or worse.
