At the beginning of the year 2012 a series of massive disappearances along the equator, cities were found deserted and empty, not a single sign of life left. At first may believe this to be the beginning to the second coming of christ and hundreds flocked to the torpical land to be taken to heaven.​

However it wasn't into the arms of the God they were flocking too.​

There in the tropical forests of Brazil and along the equator throughout the world, humans were being posessed. Their eyes would gloss over and a sinister look would cover their faces, once articulate voices being replaced by horrific screeches. Many did not realize the danger until it was too late, and one of the posessed was ripping open their stomach and feasting on their organs like it was a bloody feast. For years the possesed people stayed in the south, feasting upon humans while governments of the north studied them from a distance. One newly changed human was taken to an american lab for study, having been killed by a mob of normal humans when found eating a young child. In the autopsy, it was discovered that the human was being controled by...something.​

It seemed as if this srange insect like creature had borrowed into the skull and comsumed the brain before taking it's place and controlling the body. Scientists quickly got to work studying the creatures but could not find many weaknesses for them other than they are defenseless when the head is removed from the body, trapping them in the skull. Even with this knowledge the 'swarm', as they were then named, slowly moved north and started to take over more and more land.​

that was 30 years ago...​

Now only communes remain as any form of protection to the massive swarm. Government has fallen and now corporations contol everything, forcing people to work to earn safty. Each commune can take care of itself, running on its own energy and growing its own food. They only connetions they make with other communes is to share information on the movement of the swarm. One commune in particular has seemed to have found an answer to the growing worry of the swarm coming and attacking the strong holds in search of more blood....​

Food was started to grow scare as the swarm pushes for more and settles in territory once ment for farming. With the swarm easily out numbering the humans, one scientist had an idea. If the swarm had a preditor, their massive numbers could be brought down to a controllable level and possibly even terminated after that. And with the growing amount of starvation in the commune people were getting desperate for anything to eat. With they theory in play the scientists that controlled this strong hold quickly got to work developing what they believed would solve everything. Soon a seirum was produced and ready to go...​

It just needed to be tested.​

Character Types:

Civilian: Normal people, innocent and untouched by the swarm or the serium. They can be simple workers, school students, or even the law inforcement and guard of the commune. They are average in every way but are allowed to carry a weapon, as long as their job allows it.

Test Subject: People who have been injected with the seirum for study. They can also be regular every day people or of law inforcing status, however they might be a little...'unstable' because of the serium. They will go under a great series of changes thoughout the RP, both mentaly and physically. In the beginning they are average but will slowly develope and become stronger and no longer need a weapon, if they happen to carry one. This is also one of the more disgusting roles.

Scientist: People who control the commune and deal with everything that involves its survival. They are highly intenllegent and always working on something for the sake of servival. They have the option of carrying a weapon or not and are otherwise of average status physically.

Swarm: The insects that control the bodies of humans by eating their brains and then becoming the replacment. They are quick and strong and work in groups, rarely seen outside of pairs. They only consume human brains but will also eat other parts of humans if more food is needed, though they usually preserve the bodies to use for themselves. These are NPCs and cane be controlled by anyone for the sake of plot movement.

Commune Alpha is run by Cyphics Labs, a science laboratory that studies the swarm and creates medicine for the commune. They are one of the strongest and safest places to live, though they have a rather high crime rate from being over crowded and starvation filling the streets. Most people here work as farmers, law enforcement, scientists or test subjests for the lab's many experiments. The lab is underneath the city, along with the green houses used to grow food and the energy generators, only acceable by a series of elevators built withing the center of the city.​

Unlike many communes, Alpha still has a fierce hold on technology. They have phones and cars as well as a large amount of military grade weaponry used against the swarm. The labs continue to develope more and are always improving the education of the people inside, wanting civilians to be prepared for anything.​

It's sort of a combo of all 3 Asmo. It will start out more political corruption and control before slowly turning to a mass murder of people and zombies. I have some major turning points planned to make this work out.

Current Goal/Purpose: Stay alive. Help the colony test medicine that might have the potential to save the human race. He Wants to do whatever he can to be able to live in a world without the swarm.

Talents: Basic carpentry skills he picked up around the farm, farming, Skilled in the use of non military firearms.

Inabilities: Reading, writing,

Fears: Fears dying in a world infested by the swarm, being alone and isolated.

General Personality: Kind and good nature. A little withdrawn at times. Slightly isolated

General History: Cameron was Born and raised on the Alpha Commune. His mother died when he was young, leaving his father alone to raise him. Cameron dropped out of school a year before graduation, although with his grades he had little hope of actually graduating, to help harvest crops and work the fields. He learned at an early age the importance of doing what you could to help better the commune, because without it they would all be dead. Cameron was not an unhappy child, although at times he wished that he had lived during a time when the Swarms didn't dominate their lives so greatly. Now, at 23, he has taken up a new cause; To help test the serum.​

Strengths: She is very level-headed and generally knows what to do in tough situations and she has to beacause of her brother. She is very understanding and loving and has a positive outlook on life.

Weaknesses: Her nice attitude might sometimes get the best of her, and beacause she thinks good of most people, she can be pretty gullible. She sometimes can't stand large amounts of blood and gorish scenes.

Current Goal/Purpose: To keep her brother, Ryan, happy and safe.

Talents: Kat has a very beautiful singing voice and is a skilled artist. She can cook pretty well, too. She's taken a lot of classes in self-defense so she can defend herself pretty well, although actual fighting isn't her forte.

Inabilities: She isn't the best at using guns or fighting.

Fears: Horror movies, death, large amounts of blood, losing Ryan

General Personality: Kat is a very nice person, almost too nice. Though she isn't one to underestimate, and she isn't naive either. She's fun loving and playful, especially towards her brother and is very protective of him. She can be pretty suspicious of people and doesn't trust just anyone. She can be a bit gullible and is always doing things for Ryan to make his life a little easier. She isn't really one to be mean, in fact, it's a mystery whether or not she even knows how to. She loves children and anything cute, small, and fuzzy so, when first meeting her, she does come off as a Goody-Two-Shoes.

General History: Kat and her little brother did used to live in Kansas when he was 7, but they had to move away once their father died and the only place Kat could find to meet their standards was Commune Alpha. She was a bit skeptical about moving here at first, but Ryan seemed to really like the place, so they've stayed for 3 years now.

I'm also going to be playing Ryan Thomas who is Kat's 10-year-old brother. He is mute but not deaf and can understand what people are saying (which a lot of people don't know) . He is very intelligent and loves technology and science.
 
Octo and PA, your characters are great! Can't wait to play with them.

Cel, don't worry about being busy. I am not planning on getting things started right away. I have some things I want to talk out with everyone and my own characters to make.

Talents: Very skilled at writing poetry and stories, Can speak many different languages.

Inabilities: Public Speaking, Fighting, Using weapons.

Fears: Fears she will always be useless and unable to take care of herself.

General Personality: Though she is quiet she is actually a very kind person. She can find both the good and bad in people, using that to keep her out of trouble. She is a bit uncertain about things, like a child who is uncertain about what to do. She gladly accepts help and rarely ever turns it down. She is easily hurt though and can slip into periods of depression.

General History: Harper was a sickly child ever since birth, her parents having to home school her since there periods of sickness that lasted for months. As she got older she became less and less sick and started to go out more and make friends. She only went to high school publicly because her parents were unable to teach her that level of education. She did not continue onto college because she ended up in the hospital for many months after a very bad flu. She eventually got better, though she still coughs and gets the occasional fever, and finally moved out of her parents home and into a small apartment of her own. She has lived there for 3 months and has finally gotten an official job as a test subject, hoping that this will be her chance to really be her own person.
 
Just for the record, I can change her if you need more folk in whatever category of people. Throwing it out there in case there's not enough or too much or whatever. *shrug*

Strengths: Quick on her feet and relatively strong in spite of her appearance after taking part in rather a lot of sport activities at school. She's a relatively fast learner when it comes to using equipment and if taught could probably wield some form of weaponry with ease.

Weaknesses: Academically, she doesn't excel much. She's scraped most of her education so far, and wouldn't do well as a leader.

Current Goal/Purpose: Keep herself alive through the new crisis/find something to do that doesn't actually involve booksmarts.

Fears: Death in general, especially round people she knows.

General Personality: Amber is insanely competitive, to the extent that even in times of crisis she can find aspects of a game and play to win, it's become a coping mechanism over the years as well as something she enjoys. She doesn't like to lose and can have a bit of a temper, but is a pleasant enough girl otherwise, willing to make friends and help out when she can. She can make rather silly decisions if left to her own devices and so has taken to attaching to people with more academic savvy than her, hoping the can guide her away from the silly choices.

General History: With a set of divorced parents and 3 siblings to boot, it's hardly any wonder that Amber ended up competitive. Her parents fought with one another for more time with the kids, while the kids fought among themselves for attention. If you weren't loud, you weren't heard. Amber took the lesson from her family and used it throughout her school life, hardly caring when she landed herself in trouble for her rough approach to work, just happy to be noticed. In high school she cooled off a little, finding sports a better way to be noticed and a better outlet for her desire to compete. She all but abandoned studying and concentrated on what she was good at, only to end up scraping her final grades. Since leaving school she hasn't known what her calling is, and has been floating aimlessly around since.

General History: particularily boring life. Her parents divorced when she was young, her mother was an alcholic and hates her. Father is depressed so she has to take care of him. Always has her pet rat with her at all times. Got abused by her father during his depression, he would take his anger and hurt out on his daughter. Got picked on excessively during her school years and started self harm, she overcame it but she still has the dreadful scars on her arms and legs.(selfharm= cutting) on her 18 birthday, she moved out right away, but before that she sent her father to her aunt. Lives alone in a studio home.

General Appearance: 5'9" messy brown hair and five o'clock shadow. wears a grey polo shirt and black slacks. has a tattered and scorched lab coat on as well.
Strengths: Intelligent, Aware, and a decent soldier
Weaknesses: Unhinged, clumsy, and prone to miss small details
Current Goal/Purpose: Weapons development
Talents: marksmanship, invention, jury rigging
Inabilities: melee combat, social niceties, guessing
Fears: arachnaphobia
General Personality: Cold, Thomas cares more about his inventions than anything else. Going so far as to nearly compromising the integrity of its supplies for his experiments.
General History: Thomas was identified during his schooling for his intelligence. The further he advanced through the ranks of the scientists of Commune Alpha, the more obvious his unstable mind became. A combination of useful inventions and political maneuvering have kept him from being considered too great a threat to the commune.

General Appearance:
A man with a healthy physique. He's 6'1" and weighs about 180 pounds, most of which is from his muscular build. Lionel's skin is pale, easily burned by the sun and dotted with freckles. Some people call him a 'ginger' because of this and because his hair is reddish. Easily bothered by facial hair, he keeps his face clean, however his chin's styled with a soul patch. His eyes are a deep brown. There's also a scar across the left side of his neck from an incident on battle grounds. For clothes, he'll most likely be seen in his military get up or a plain t-shirt and jeans. He doesn't care for fashion, really.

Strengths:
Thanks to lots of hard, physical training, he's capable of many things. This ranges from lifting heavy objects to lasting longer than others as far as stamina goes. He's a valuable addition to a team if they need muscle or someone who can handle firearms.

Weaknesses:
Lion didn't do very well in school. "C's get degrees"; that's the reason he has a diploma. Lack of interest in his academics has given him fairly poor intelligence, so he can't be counted on for history facts, complicating math problems, or to know scientific vocabulary. He isn't stupid, just not properly educated. Also, he can't communicate very well with women. Bad experiences in the past has caused this.

Current Goal/Purpose:
Survive, kill monsters and help the innocent

Talents:
Lion knows a lot about weapons. He's also athletic, a combat expert and knows how to play guitar.

Inabilities:
Not the most social man ever, to women especially. He also can't do laundry very well, or cook.

Fears:
Sgt. Lionel Christensen fears nothing, except for solitary confinement and abandonment. Something about being by his lonesome in a small space is scary to him.

General Personality:
Generally a nice guy with a protective demeanor. He greets strangers with a smile, but only when they approach him first. Unless he's good friends with someone, Lion doesn't initiate conversation. Around women, he's fairly shy, because many had tortured him in the past by toying with his emotions or bluntly pointing out his flaws when it was uncalled for. He gets very excited about subjects involving firearms, Batman, guitars and rock climbing.

General History:
Once he hit high school, he lost interest in learning. His love life and friends became more important, so he had to aim for Cs when he figured out he was in hot water for graduating. Fortunately, he pulled it all off, despite how rocky his social life was. He struggled against stereotypes because he's attracted to both men and women, both of which would attack him for it. Not a single one of his lovers respected him, either.

Even though he got his diploma, he was distraught and uninterested in college. He left his family to join the army and still serves them, happy about the benefits and constant moving around. With his sexuality kept secret, of course.

Because he's one of the most physically capable men around, he was deployed to Commune Alpha with the squad of soldiers he always commands. Him and other sergeants protect the civilians under the government's law. They were suspicious about something and wanted reliable defense to survey the place.

Cool, I'll post soon. Need to think up a good intro for Lion. I'm thinking I'll just type of a day-in-the-life sort of thing. Just describing what a usual day is for him. That work, Harpy?

Otherwise, if there's somewhere specific you'd like him to be, let me know. I'm excited to get started. I don't play army dudes very often because the whole thing confuses me and sometimes bores me, but I wanna learn new stuff. >:3
 
You can do a day by day thing with Lionel, but I have a small idea for him later on in the Rp >83 but as an introduction post then by all means discribe his usual day. I was thinking that he could be called into the lab for another reason and then bump into one of the test subjects by mistake maybe.
 
Okay, that's doable. I'll post him going to said laboratory, where he'll eventually meet somebody.
