He noticed the slight hint of worry in her voice, and couldn't blame her for it. Being a noble herself she would surely know many lords and ladies who would have been extremely angry to have a stranger trespass on their lands at night, and to be honest with himself he would normally be one of them. It didn't happen often however, his reputation preceded him in that he would not tolerate trespassers. He was greatly respected amongst the vampire community, and greatly feared amongst the humans.
Not because he treated them badly, simply because they were afraid of the wealth and power he wielded. The fact that he had many human servants and treated them well, didn't seem to make much of a difference. He shook his head at her concern, though he did appreciate how well mannered she was. "It is of no trouble what so ever my lady." He said quietly, fascinated by the fond tone he heard in her voice when she spoke of the prince. It seemed despite what he had done, she was in love with him.
That he didn't understand, how could you love someone who didn't care for you? Who used you then tossed you away without a twinge of regret? He thought she was either being rather duelled, or quite stupid. However it was none of his business, so he said nothing and simply nodded. When she asked her hopeful question, he hesitated for a moment. He did not want to tell her no, not when it would crush the stirrings of hope he saw in her eyes. However he couldn't answer yes, not until he'd thought about it.
He was saved from having to answer as she stood up, he watched her carefully. Ready to support her if she needed it, however after a moment she steadied herself and he led the way into the hall. He showed her to the bathroom, pausing outside the door. He turned to face her, "well we should discuss that after you're finished." "You are still weak and your pursers will still be looking for you." He said softly, "I think it's best you spend the night my dear you won't get far tonight before the sun rises."
The idea of this beautiful creature being caught unprotected out in the sun almost made him shiver, what the sun would do to her... what it would do to any vampire foolish enough to be out in it was horrendous. He turned his attention back to her, "there are soaps, shampoos and towels in there for you." "And I shall see if I can find you something to wear."[/fieldbox]
