⇢ Name Percival Witwhistle
⇢ Nickname Everybody calls him Percy
⇢ Age Just shy of nineteen
⇢ Carrier No
⇢ Birthdate September 28th
⇢ Height 5 feet 11 inches
⇢ Weight 160 pounds
⇢ Sex Male
⇢ Orientation Bisexual
⇢ Build Lean and athletic muscled
⇢ Occupation University student and barista
⇢ Gear His backpack with freeze-dried fruits, granola, energy bars, several bottles of water, and a travel first aid kit. He forgot to take out the copy of Jane Eyre from his backpack before fleeing and hasn't had the time nor room to care about taking it out. In terms of weapons and melee gear, he has a sharpened kitchen machete knife, a bo staff from his dojo, and a pistol with a silencer and two high-capacity magazines. He has two shirts and a pair of pants also in his backpack, along with a small tube of liquid travel soap and some standard Ibuprofen.
⇢ Likes The ocean, caffeine, English literature, hiking, cats, cafe singers, concerts, layered clothing, and sharpened pencils
⇢ Skills He has amazingly swift reflexes, likely from his mixed martial arts training. He is a strong swimmer and has incredible aquatic stamina. He's a naturally fit person, though he specializes more in agility and endurance than pure strength. He isn't half bad with his aim, though it can be improved.
⇢ Dislikes The sound of cracking knuckles, academic exams, messy people, small children, lukewarm or room temperature water, and being underestimated
⇢ Weaknesses Although quick in reflexes and long-lasting in endurance, he isn't the best when it comes to pure strength. He's bad at talking to people and initiating confrontation, making him bad at traveling in groups. He tends to have a bit of a temper which causes him to become uncooperative at times.
⇢ Fears Ultimately, dying (or in this case being turned). However he's also scared of anyone else he gets close to being turned and falling from heights. He has an irrational fear of bugs biting him, though he's fine when they aren't touching him.
⇢ Bio Born in Vero Beach, Florida, to a mixed Japanese-American family, Percy had life practically handed to him on a silver platter. Spoiled from his birth, he was raised as an only child with heavily doting grandparents on both sides. Though he didn't see his parents much due to their jobs, he was well aware of how much they loved him, as they devoted most of their time when home with Percy.
From a young age he loved nature and swimming, as a child of only six years old sneaking out to play in the moonlit waves at his family's beach house. He still remembers the terrified shrieking of his nanny when she discovered him in the pounding silver waves up to his knees. After that, he was watched much closer but never lost his love of nature. He grew up surrounded by the beautiful wildlife in Vero Beach, where he lived out all his childhood years.
Percy didn't have many friends as a kid, instead devoting his time to exploring the endless trails and wildlife reserves around his house. He learned to surf and skateboard from his enthusiastic father (who was raised in California) and those both became strong passions of his. When Percy was in fourth grade, he decided to sign up for mixed martial arts lessons. His family had always remarked on how quick his reflexes were, and he hoped to gain some friends through the sport.
For every year of school after that, Percy trained at the local dojo in mixed arts. He quickly rose to the top as one of the best fighters in Vero Beach, earning several medals and trophies for his efforts. The year after Percy started learning, in fifth grade, a new kid transferring from New England joined the team. Enter, Lark Haverford.
Lark became Percy's best friend and they shared everything together. They continued to train with each other and often Lark would stay over at Percy's beach house, where he taught him to surf and skateboard. They shared many interests and did practically everything together. It was as if Percy's world had lit up, a million fireflies illuminating the darkness he had been shrouded in for so long.
Percy endured the rest of elementary school, all of middle school, and into their first year of high school together as best friends. As most teenagers do, feelings began to arise. Strange, frightful feelings. Emotions Percy didn't believe he should have for another boy made themselves present in his head. He fought them off and drowned himself in training, even taking up running track and devoting all his time to school and sports. He subtly distanced himself from Lark and endured the most painful, lonely time in his life since before Lark's appearance.
It was the end of sophomore year before Lark managed to corner Percy at his beach house. There was yelling, tears, and punches thrown before Lark's message finally pierced Percy's thick brain. He had feelings too. It was a slow incline from there as they relearned each other with a new perspective. They kept their relationship a secret until their senior year, too terrified of coming out to their parents to do anything about it until they were already moving out of the house.
The day Percy came out to his parents was quite anticlimactic, as they had already assumed something of the sort had been going on at least a year earlier. They accepted him and hugs and tears were shared. Lark's didn't go quite as smoothly, as he came and lived with Percy and his family until they moved into university. The day Percy left his beautiful, weather-worn white beach house for all of eighteen years was bittersweet as he closed that chapter of his life.
Percy started school at Florida International University in the fall with Lark by his side, working as a barista for some income while he juggled social time and studying. They had only been several months into university when the virus broke out. At first, the campus seemed safe, the students unaware of the chaos rapidly spreading across the United States. Before Percy knew it, it was too late. The campus was overrun with zombies, and when Lark didn't come back from the laundromat on campus nor answer his phone, Percy knew he couldn't wait. It broke his heart as he packed his bag as fast as possible, snagging a knife from the kitchen for some form of self defense until he could get his hands on his bo staff.
As Percy was fleeing the campus, he made the mistake of looking back. There, standing at the gates into campus, his eyes just beginning to dim as a zombie feasted on his shoulder, stood Lark. Breaking away from his boyfriend had been the hardest thing Percy had ever had to do, and it practically destroyed him. However, he fought tooth and nail against the crumbling humanity, mourning the loss of his lover as he tried to reach Vero Beach to check on his parents.
The infection became too dangerous for Percy to continue farther to his hometown, so with a heavy heart he fled to Georgia, leaving behind everything he knew with a hastily packed backpack and an armload of weapons.
⇢ Personality He doesn't understand his emotions well, temperamental, passionate, thoughtful, naturally humorous, uncooperative, an instinctual loner, alert, he has good instincts, a feeler, bad at managing his own emotions, strong-willed, neat, creative, and surprisingly intelligent
( i'm not even sure if this is still open, but it seems really fun! please let me know if there's anything that needs to be changed )
You already win like 100 points for using Rin's face whom I LOVE! And we are indeed open and would be glad to have you which I can say on the GM's behalf. I'll poke him to take a look at your CS though!
