Anne was always different from other children. She knew this from the moment that she could talk, walk, and understand others. Her mother didn't hide it from her. When she was old enough to understand, she gave it to her straight and explained in detail about the Wizarding world. Once told, Anne took it upon herself to read up on things that she would want to know or that she may needed to know for school. Unlike many other magical families, the Powells actually put their child in Muggle schooling. She knows how the Muggle world works because she lived as one until she turned eleven years old and was immersed into the Wizarding world. So, unlike other families, she doesn't hate Muggles and doesn't think about blood differences. She thinks that everyone is the same, equal.

Personality:
Anne is a complex person. She has many different things that tie into her personality. Many things that are unusual for a Slytherin, according to the other Houses. But let's focus on the main parts of her personality. The parts that truly shine through.
The number one reason that she was placed in Slytherin was because of her mind. Her intelligence helped land her a spot in the House of Snakes. It also helps her be one of the top students in her classes. She's very clever and witty. One of her favorite things is witty, playful banter. She is also quick-witted, coming up with solutions on the spot in dire situations. All helpful things in life.
Anne believes that she is a humanitarian. She believes in equality among all humans. She hates speaking or hearing others speak about 'blood differences' and how 'Pure Bloods' were better than the other two. Especially since she was a Half Blood herself. She tries her best to accept others with open arms, no matter what House they're from or what blood status that they have. She believes that if a Half Blood like her made it into Slytherin, then no one was superior to anyone and everyone should just be able to go about life peacefully.
Another thing that Anne is described as is caring. She's a sweet girl who's always using her manners and making sure that she's polite. She would never hurt someone intentionally (unless highly upset with them or she really dislikes them) with her words for she knew how much words could hurt. She tries to be nice to anyone and everyone. It was the way that she was raised. She will help if she can. Stranger or not, she doesn't care.
Anne is also bubbly. Something you might not see in a Slytherin. She's always talking at a fast pace about something or another. And, if you let her, she'll be able to ramble on and on and on. Her mind is everywhere, never staying in one place, and it shows when you let her ramble. She's a bundle of sunshine and joy, lighting up a room when she enters it. She's always smiling and giggling or just outright laughing. Everything to her is humorous and she enjoys it that way. She's heard that laughing was good for the soul so she'll laugh to her heart's content. The brunette is also very friendly. She likes to hang out with her friends whenever she can and everyone can see this. She is a very touchy, affectionate person when it comes to the ones she holds dear.
Before you get to bubbly, friendly, affectionate Anne, you have to get through shy Anne. Yes, Anne is very shy, actually. Suffering from stage fright doesn't help either. She doesn't like showing off or bringing unnecessary attention to herself. And, to her, all attention that isn't casual and/or from her friends is deemed unnecessary. While she is friendly, she isn't one for making friends. She won't talk to strangers unless they talk to her first. She can be very quiet at times as well.
Alone time. This is something that Anne needs every once in a while, being quite introverted and all. She likes to detach herself from the world and enter her own for a bit. It's how she rejuvenates and relax. At these times, she'll read a book, or write, or just think about things. As long as she's alone, she's tranquil.
Hearing all of these good things about the Witch, you must be wondering what happens when she's upset, right? Well, let me tell you. When Anne gets upset, she isn't verbal. She becomes silent, but it's a deadly silent. Either she is silent until she bounces back or, somewhere among the silence, she will burst into bottled up rage, every and any emotion she held in will spill out for all to see. Sometimes, the rush of emotions brings frustrated tears to her eyes. If the rage is strong enough, it can spread to the whole of mankind, where she claims that she hates the world and will glare at anyone and everyone. Another thing that happens is that she starts to come up with very graphic threats. The Witch also becomes quite rude, snarky, sarcastic, and uncaring for how one would feel about her heart-stabbing words.
And when sad, Anne doesn't let anyone knows. She will pretend that everything is okay and that she doesn't care when she truly does. When she is alone or with ones she trust, she'll let the emotions and the tears to flow. That is the only time.
(Side note: Anne is very emotional when it comes to fictional characters. She gets attached easily and will cry really hard when one is killed off. You would think that she had known the character personally.)
