For a moment, Emma just stared at Hook, looking between him and the departing plane. This was going to be a longgggg journey. In any case, it couldn't hurt to explain to him.
"That wasn't a creature. It was a plane. Think of it like.... A flying version of one of your ships. Yours are meant for water, right? Well, planes are meant for air," she offered, hoping that explanation would suffice, before promptly venturing onward without bothering to wait for the pirate. If finding this stupid 'lair' was going to get her closer to making her way home, she was willing to walk a hundred miles without complaint. Not that that would be ideal, so she was happy it wasn't that long of a trek.
She wasn't as happy, however, about their current situation as a whole. Between her lack of knowledge on where she was(and whether or not Storybrooke was safe or not- if Hook had come here with her, had Cora been able to traverse the portal?), the constant blabbering and hyperactivity of much of the group, the potentially harmful button mashing and generally careless attitude of Star, and the fact that it was hard to tell if they were even going to be able to get help with the matter at hand? Well, she was running a little low on patience.
"Yeah, nice lair. Now can we please get to figuring out how to get home?" Emma interjected, looking mildly irritated. To Star, she added in a lower tone(so as to avoid drawing Darkwing's attention).
"Hook's right, ki--... Star," she spoke, briefly kneeling to the girl's height and looking her dead in the eyes.
"Listen. I'm sorry you thought I was picking on you earlier, okay? That's not what I meant. I'm a mom, so I know what it's like, seeing your kid get into danger. And I just didn't want that for your parents, or for you to get hurt," she explained as gently as she could, hoping the kid would understand. With that out of the way, feeling no obligation to offer anything more, she rose to her feet.
"And you," she mused, glancing to Hook fleetingly.
"Try not to worry about all of this. I know it's not quite your pace." Yup. It was way ahead of his pace. He was too caught in the past.
Then Star asked about Hook's, well... Hook. Yeah. She was going to let the pirate field that one. She might try to make sure the kids in this crazy situation didn't get hurt and all, but she wasn't their mom. It wasn't her job to crack manners into them.
