  • Before you were born, Beacon Academy fell to the forces of darkness. Team RWBY and other heroes from Beacon worked with Haven to protect it from the same fate, and they won. Some time after that, they had you, and they brought you into a world at peace.

    That world would grow vibrant but chaotic. The citizens of Vale were determined to find a way forward - they made the city beautiful again, they brought the CCT back online, and they drove the Grimm out of the center of the city. Faunus grew even less accepted due to the actions of the White Fang. Technology advanced, and with that came new forms of dust, and materials and biotech based off of newly-discovered Grimm physiology. Beacon Academy was reopened by Glynda Goodwitch's sister Locasta. Your reasons for joining were your own, whether you saw it as taking up your parents' mantle, having adventures of your own, or just bringing light to the world.

    Advancement did not come without those who wished to tear it down. Charismatic leader Io Sugilite spoke against the use of aura, in favor of using biotechnology to augment humans and merge them with the Grimm living in outer Vale. Treating the Grimm like gods, her movement grew into a cult with members in all four kingdoms. This cult, the Yamiko Movement, developed a tense relationship with Remnant's combat schools.

    Then the unthinkable happened - dust started making people sick. Huntsmen and Huntresses developed terrible illnesses from using it. Grimm began to encroach upon humanity's footholds once again. As dust sales plummeted, the Yamiko Movement gained momentum, and Nature's Wrath became a much less viable combat aid. People had to use it in very limited quantities, or find technological replacements. The quest became to uncover the cause of this strange new disease, and procure the materials needed for a cure.

    You're attending Beacon in a world where dust, humanity's candle in the dark, is dangerous. Your world holds advancements and challenges your parents could never have foreseen. What future will you and your team carve out?

  • You play as a descendant of one of the show's heroes, attending Beacon Academy. There will be action and adventure, missions in a variety of settings, and the challenge of fighting dangerous enemies without Dust. Your characters will learn to work together, and if you're looking for it, perhaps romance will blossom as well. Your missions are handed down by scientists, who need Huntsmen and Huntresses to navigate perilous territory, fight Grimm, and clash with the Yamiko Movement in order to find a cure.

    The game will start before initiation, and jump to the second semester (which includes missions and a dance) after initiation ends.

    Have roleplay common sense - no godmodding, OP characters, etc. Your writing should be at least at the Intermediate level. Posting speed is 2-3 IC posts a week.

  • As for who your character's parent is, you can claim any character from RWBY, JN(P)R, or CFVY, plus Sun and Neptune, as long as they're not already claimed. You are also allowed to have two canon characters as your character's parents if you choose (for example, instead of Coco and an OC father, you could play the child of Coco and Fox, or someone Coco and Velvet adopted).     "Lamellae Talon"
    Categorized as an "Explosive Ordnance Grappling Mace" (EOGM), the Lamellae Talon's default form is mace, much like her father's. Upon activating its additional features, the mace head separates into four claws and can be extended from the shaft by a thin cable wire, allowing it to act as a flail or grappling hook.
    SEMBLANCE:
    "Phantom Pain"
    By striking an opponent once, Nightingale is able to trigger the same, vivid sensation of pain as long as they are within range of her senses. Once out of range, this effect is nullified and would require Nightingale to land another successful hit to activate once more.
    FIGHTING STYLE:
    Despite her appearance and behavior, she takes after her father when it comes to combat, using her skill with her weapon and can be rather opportunistic when it comes to exploiting any weakness she may find. Compensating for her lack of strength and durability, she carries a pack of dust-infused grenades, which can be held by the claw-like head of her weapon to either provide an explosive punch or directed at long-ranged opponents by casting the head out to them.
    DUST USAGE:
    She has minimal interaction with the substance, using dust based grenades but never actually utilizing it for its more fantastical properties.

  • REASON FOR ENROLLMENT:
    Her parents had once attended, both spoke of it fondly, recalling it as a time of growth and discovering one's self. Feeling aimless and hopeless, she hopes to change herself for the better.
    PERSONALITY:
    Shy, meek, and unassuming, most people would probably not even notice Nightingale if it wasn't for her height and with her eyes constantly on the ground or averting the gazes of others, it isn't hard to see that she lacks confidence or self-esteem. Used to social isolation, she keeps to herself, observing others with a cynical lens, yet shying away if confronted. Against the Grimm, however, she finds solace in finding something she can vent all of her frustrations on, displaying a cruel streak within battle.

  • PARENTAL HISTORY:
    Once the final battle had ended, Cardin Winchester continued as Huntsman helping to drive back the Grimm from human settlements and settled into the somewhat quiet life of guarding, keeping vigilant in case humanity's old foe chose to attack once more. Although his views of the faunus were still less-than-favorable, he had mellowed out quite considerably from his days as a school-yard bully, even more so when he met Robin, the girl who he would eventually marry and have a child with. As his daughter grew, he realized just how different she was from him, and struggled to provide support for such an introverted girl. As long as Robin was there, he once thought, then they could figure it out as a family, but unfortunately, an accident took her from them. Left alone to raise a child he didn't understand, their relationship grew strained, much to his growing despair. By the time he had managed to overcome his own depression, he understood and regretted that he could have done more for Nightingale.
    PERSONAL HISTORY:
    She had always been a shy, introverted child. Her mother used to claim that she took after her uncle quite a bit, but her memories of that man were left hazy and incoherent with the passage of time and. Her father was well-meaning, but she had known for some time that they were two extremely different people. So it wasn't difficult to see how her mother was the heart, soul, and backbone to their entire family, and it was just as easy to see how her absence would destroy it. Watching her father grieve over the loss of his wife left her unable to do the same for the loss of her mother, not wanting to bother him, so she bottled up her emotions and closed herself off. An outsider at school and at home, she grew cynical in her loneliness and overwhelmed in her depression. For her father and herself, time only began to move once more with the announcement of Beacon's reopening. Her father's surprise and shock at declaration to attend was to be expected, as she had never shown any previous inclinations to being a Huntress, yet it brought with it something she hadn't expected. Cardin began to interact with her more, training her in preparation and while their relationship was still nowhere near perfect, it showed promise for better days.

@CasketCase I am aware that Nightingale is a WIP, but I'm confused about her semblance. If her aura is on, shouldn't it be protecting her from injury anyway? And if it's depleted, wouldn't she be unable to use it to power her semblance?

You make a good point. I was trying to tie in the whole healing properties associated with folklores and fairy tales, but I completely overlooked that. Thanks for pointing that out, Mollisol, I'll rework that.

I read the first post about the snake in the school sent by the cult, will there will a possibility that Jade would accused to be that snake?
