Hey there, Im midnight and im looking to use a character i havent played with in a while, an ice dragon Named Juralyn. You character will be her rider. (Im also open to each of us being a rider/Dragon team and Rping their adventures together if thats what you prefer). So first let me describe the world which is loosely based off the Inheritance cycle.
The order of riders is an ancient, and honorable one. They have kept the land safe for hundreds of years, fighting off and preventing threats to the many kingdoms in the land. But in order to survive they need new riders, and dragons every year. This is no easy task, dragon eggs are special, they will only hatch when they decide to. In the wild this is during times of plenty when they will have the food, and safety to grow. But among the riders they will wait for a rider they deem worthy, one they think will work well with them. Most eggs wait a decade or two at most before giving up and hatching as a riderless dragon, but some have been in the egg halls of the order for centuries, and no one really knows why. Twice a year on the longest, and shortest days the order opens it halls to children between the ages of ten and fifteen. Theese children will walk through the rows of eggs in hopes that one will choose them. Those that are chosen will join the order and train to be a rider while raising their new baby dragon. But those who arent will either go home or join the order and caretakers, riderless humans who help with chores, cooking and caring for the dragons in the hopes that one day an egg will choose them.
Dragon riders receive special abilities from the beasts they bond with. A much increased lifespan, speed, strength, the ability to telepathically communicate with their dragon and access to magic, an art that had once been available only to the elves. The dragons themselves are varied, there are dozens of species but the most common are fire, ice, earth, water, night and wind.
Deep in the egg chambers of the order lies an egg of purple and blue, this egg lain by two common ice dragons has been here a long time. Long after its Dam and Sire have left this world it waits. For what the riders do not know. But now on a day where the sun passes quickly, and the night stretches long a mind lain dormant for over three hundred years reaches out to another and a soft tap is heard within the gemlike shell. It is time to break free.
