It is said that brevity is the soul of wit. There is, without a doubt, a time and place for long paragraphs filled with wondrous descriptions. Other times, however, less is more. What can you create from the prompt using only two sentences?

This time, the theme is:

Bounce
 
Recovery from a recent relapse felt slow going, from the slick feeling in his throat to the queasy emptiness in his gut. And yet everyone who loved him, who mattered, assured him this was what it felt like to bounce back.

The Grand Vizier, a man dedicated to the pursuit of knowledge, pushed the 400-lb. prisoner off the high tower -- down, down, down into a pit lined with a species of 12-foot vipers that possessed remarkably resilient skin -- and then nodded as the jailors below signaled the results of this final experiment.

He would enter the information in his journal tonight, having verified that the saying was true—there was definitely "more bounce to the ounce."

It sprung back into his hands and he gulped, very confused to who had thrown it back to him after it shattered the glass window.

His question was answer when an angry woman came to the window and screamed, " BOBBY, YOU OWE ME FIVE HUNDRED DOLLARS FOR THE BROKEN WINDOW."
 
She stood there looking at her five year old with her hips and the mom look on her face, "What are you doing?"

He bit his lip and looked at the floor covered in tomatoes, "I thought they would bounce."

As he watched her pick up the lamp to throw at his head, it dawned on him that in the beginning, he hadn't so much been in love with her as the things that came with loving her - a body in a bed, the dishes sometimes finished, and the laundry haphazardly folded. He was reconsidering how much he loved those things as the ceramic bounced off the side of his skull, leaving a gash.
