For my entry, ice-cold water:
It is ephemeral, like a refreshing breeze. On a cold day, it tastes sharp, like the crunch of a crisp apple. On a hot day, it tastes smooth, like a spoonful of chocolate pudding. It ever-so-gently numbs that which it touches, then disappears without a trace.
