Lame title is lame. For now. However, I have thought of a story idea, and I want to actually finish this one. I've never been able to finish them before. I want to make this one at least two "books", maybe even three. I'll start out with my characters and the world, which I will add to this post and maybe more. I welcome any and all constructive criticism when I actually get stuff up here. I'll eventually find a title that works, but for now, this will do. So without further ado, I will start this rambling mess.

This is only the World/Character Building Portion, will start the story on another thread.

The Guardians-
Creatures that have existed since the beginning. They were put in place by the god Veld. Originally they were singular creatures that protected the earth by themselves. However, in more recent times, they have turned themselves into something akin to spirits. In this spirit form, they choose a mortal to be their host. This mortal must be nearly perfect, with no disabilities of any kind. The guardians do not care about the status of the individual, just so long as they are good enough to be a host.

If the host becomes permanently wounded or obtains some form of madness or other mental instability, the Guardians have no choice but to leave the host. This action usually kills the host, as the Guardians wouldn't want any secrets to be spilled. They find a different host, and use them.

The hosts know of the Guardian inside of them, though they have no choice in taking one if it chooses them. It is considered an honor to be chosen, and rarely does anyone reject them, as that means an incompatibility that will likely kill the host. In exchange for their service, Guardians give the hosts the ability to use extremely powerful magic according to the Guardian's own abilities. If the Guardian chooses to leave when the host is old, it usually keeps the host alive, and allows them to keep some of the magic until they pass away.

Races-

  • Basic Traits-
General Behavior: Viator personalities vary widely, but they all have one thing in common; Wanderlust and curiosity. They tend to be nomads, traveling throughout the land, exploring the far reaches. Some do settle in lands they find most favorable, but for the most part, they stay in camps of hundreds of Viators, exploring the lands they were placed upon.
Physical Description: Viator have different looks wherever you go. They have evolved from place to place. The average Viator, however, is quite plain. They have tan skin, brown hair, and brown eyes. The skin and hair colors change wherever they have spent time. Viator people who have chosen to settle the desert are generally very dark skinned and have black hair. The ones who settled the tundra are very pale and have blonde hair. Viator have rounded ears and smooth, soft skin.

Viators are rather average in height, generally staying in the range of 5'-6', with an occasional outlier. Their nomadic ways keep them quite slim and healthy. Because they only eat what they find and kill, the nomads are some of the healthiest people in the world, and live to a decently long age. Viators live to an average age of 70, with the oldest living Viator being 89, and the oldest one in history was 94.
Civilization: Nomadic, though some larger Viator towns do exist. Rarely do they create large cities. Their towns are mostly built near major rivers.
Relations: Viator are on good terms with almost everyone. They have a general friendship with the Tsarren and Eclarit. The Medolthi don't bother with them as a whole, as they don't see any use for them other than trading occasionally. Raghatt rebels will sometimes raid Viator nomadic parties, but the Raghatt society themselves respect the Viators and allow them to traverse their land only if they do not destroy it or take more than they need. Ilenei have a general dislike for Viators, only because they're the most susceptible to Ilenei poison and Viators tend to keep their distance. The two are slightly prejudiced towards each other, but it has never broken into violence between the two races.
    Lands: Wherever they desire
Population: The Viator make up around 13% of the population. They can be found literally anywhere. There were more Viator before the Five Night War, but the number dwindled, and they have since started to make a comeback. Viator tend to have moderately large families, usually 4 children being commonplace.
Famous People: High Emperor Jineir Hestatis, First of His Name was a Viator; Four other High Emperors were Viators. A famous martyr in the Five Night War was a Viator. There have been many Guardian hosts that were Viators.

    Culture Traits-
History: Viators were supposedly the second race created by Veld. They were given instructions to be the peace keepers, and to always remain neutral. They have mostly kept this, as they rarely enter wars. The only war the Viators played a large part in was the Five Night War, where their entire existence was being threatened by a vast number of rebel Raghatts and Medolthi. The war itself was stopped by a Guardian, as the Viator race was in danger of becoming extinct.
Religion: They follow the teachings of Veld
Languages: The Common Tongue, and whatever language they pick up
    Common First Names:
Male- Eron, Kalion, Marley, Lanelan, Thercey, Varir, Darelan, Nacnivir
Female- Tavinia, Manisania, Laisonia, Gwehana, Enarana, Sulerithi, Nemithi
Common Surnames: Ormelar, Iranis, Fendis, Vassinar, Faenel, Vynel
Strengths: Viator are adaptable like no other. They can survive even the harshest temperatures if prepared. This is evidenced by their settlements in both the arctic and the desert. They are decently strong physically, and many are taught from an early age how to defend themselves. They are often very wise, especially as they age.
Weaknesses: Extremely susceptible to the majority of poisons, they are rather frail creatures in terms of fortitude. While they may be strong, Viator are not known for their flexibility. They are decent enough for fighting, but you won't find one hopping about the trees any time soon.
Favored Weapons: While they will use just about anything they can find, their favored weapons are generally single-handed swords.
Common Occupations: They generally become whatever is needed at the time. However, they are rarely farmers, and do prefer herding animals over any other work.
Gender Roles: Mostly patriarchal. Women are subservient, but not opressed. They are expected to care for the family so they don't get hurt. However, single women are expected to act like men, and it is frowned upon for a childless and husbandless woman to not fight with the men.
Leadership Roles: Each nomadic tribe is led by a Chieftan, generally a male. There is no other supreme leadership other than the High Emperor and whatever kingdom they're in.
    Common Holidays: wip
    Other: wip

  • Basic Traits-
General Behavior: Eclarit are generally soft spoken creatures. They tend to stick to their own kind, but harbor no hatred to visitors. They are more gentle creatures than others, and tend to care more about the world's problems. They are homebodies, opting to stay with their family and keep themselves and their family safe. They are very helpful towards their large communities, and it generally acts like one large family. They are very forgiving, and dislike fighting.
Physical Description: Eclarit are tall creatures. They are completely feathered, except for their face, and have a large hooked beak for a mouth and nose. Eclarit have no visible ears. They have wings in place of their arms, which have scaly and clawed hand-like appendages on the ends, which are used for grasping. Their legs are feathered until their calves, where they start to become very thin, and are scaly and clawed like their hands, which are used for grasping onto trees.

Eclarit range from 6'-7', a bit taller than a Viator. They are a bit more bulky than a Viator, but it's purely muscle from climbing. Their claws are tough, making them very good for climbing and fighting. They can tear through cloth easily, can rip leather, and can even slice through metal if given enough time. Because of their lack of flight, they rely on these claws to climb cliffs and trees to escape danger and to get around quicker. Eclarit generally live to an average age of 90, with the oldest living being 102 and the oldest in history being 107.
Civilization: Found in small villages of close knit communities, Eclarit settlements dot the country side. Those wishing to explore will move to a city in hopes of finding their way, and learn a trade. Settlements are often found in forests or among cliff faces.
Relations: They find the Viator fascinating, and have a friendship with them. They do not have a good past with the Raghatt, who have invaded their forests to chop down trees many times, but otherwise the two are not on warring terms. The Medolthi hold no ill will to the Eclarit, but they often make fun of them for being flightless. The Tsarren tend to ignore them, but are usually interested whenever they see one. It's more of a curiosity than actually being rude towards the creatures. The Ilenei and Eclarit generally stay out of each other's way, though as always, they prefer not to associate themselves with surface dwellers.
Lands: Eclarit prefer the forests of the temperate regions, but a large amount can be found in the jungles, and some live in caves along rocky coast lines. Rarely do they live in the extreme cold or in extreme hot and dry areas.
Population: Eclarit make up roughly 17% of the population. They live in their villages, safe from most others, but rarely have more than one child, making their growth very slow. The race in a whole has never been in a war. Some say it's about time they were.
    Famous People: wip

    Culture Traits-
History: Eclarit are considered a "beast" race, because of their animalistic appearance. They are rumored to not even be created by Veld. However, according to Eclarit lore, they were the last species made by Veld. They were told to be the historians, and to always keep to the old ways. They have become the ones who record the happenings of the world. They have never been involved in a war, and don't plan to any time soon.
Religion: They generally worship Veld, but some have turned away from Veld to worship the idea of Knowledge and Science.
Languages: Eclarian is their mother tongue, which involves many noises that generally only Eclarit can make, such as trilling or chirping. They have also been taught the Common Tongue and generally know other languages in order to satiate their want for knowledge.

They have wonderful eyesight, making them very good at ranged weapons. Eclarit value intelligence above all else, making them a very intelligent race. They are historians, and all Eclarit are taught about the history of their ancestors and their neighbors.
Weaknesses: Eclarit are quite weak. They have a hard time using melee weapons with their talons, and cannot use weapons made for the other races. Their wings are in the way of many weapons used for other races. They have to keep segregated from most other races because of their extreme differences, which makes them outcasts in the larger cities. They are rather susceptible to poison, because they are affected by ones that harm birds as well.
Favored Weapons: A specialized spear that can be easily grabbed by their talons. They also use these as javelins, which they can grow with great force.
Common Occupations: Scouts, librarians, teachers, nurses/doctors

  • Basic Traits-
General Behavior: Tsarren are civilized. They respect their land, and also use it to live. They are usually strict and serious people, and they stick to their traditions. Not ones to appreciate outside culture, they still do enjoy when others assimilate into their own. They welcome outsiders with open arms, but only if those outsiders are willing to take on some of the culture that the Tsarrens have built. Rather militarized, but not savage. They have organized military and leaderships. They are generally quiet folk, though it's not uncommon for there to be a loud celebration.
Physical Description: The Tsarren mostly look the same. They have green skin, which lightens or darkens wherever they live. Their hair is always a shade of red or brown. They have slightly pointed ears that are curved inwards. It is common for Tsarren, both men and women, to adorn their ears with lavish jewelry. They have slender eyes, which vary from bright blue to dull grey. Their features are slender, and many Tsarren keep themselves fit and slim. However, it becoming rather common for those in the cities to become more plump in their coddled lives.

Tsarren stand tall in comparison to Viator, and are slightly taller than Eclarit on average. They are still considered to be in the 6'-7' range, but it is not uncommon at all for Tsarren to be taller than Eclarit. They are a very dexterous and quite strong race, making them very good swordsmen and bowmen. Tsarren age about the same as Viators, and the average age is around 75. The oldest living Tsarren is 101, and is also the oldest in history.
Civilization: Tsarren are highly civilized. They have created many of the great cities of the world. Never without a government of some sort, they keep to these large cities, and rarely travel outside of them for long.
Relations: Tsarren have a generally good relation with everyone. They treat everyone neutrally. The Tsarren keep respect for Viators, though they find their ways silly and foolish, in some cases even savage. They are mostly interested in the two winged races, as they have always been interested about flying. They do not appreciate the warring and barbaric ways of the Raghatt, and also find their matriarchal society to be backwards. They stay out of the Ilenei's way, though they generally fight when their paths cross.
Lands: The Tsarren have kept their cities located in the plains of various climates. Never found in forests or mountains, they think it is much better to be able to see their enemy clearly. They can be found in temperate, arctic, and desert climates. They do not like humid climates, and stay away from swamps.
Population: There are more Tsarren in the world than any other races. Tsarren make up roughly 26% of the world. The fact that they have large families and low deaths attributes to their growth greatly. They tend to have 6-8 children on average.
    Famous People: wip

    Culture Traits-
History: Tsarren were supposedly the first race created by Veld, told to populate the world. They were given tasks to heavily procreate, which made them very populous. They quickly made towns and cities, where trade and safety were offered. The entered various wars with other races, including the Ilenei and Raghatt. The war with the Ilenei was for control over the underground, which the Tsarren eventually let them keep. Raghatt declared war on the Tsarren when they settled too close to Raghatt territory. The founded town was destroyed, and the Tsarren kept away from them. Some bitter feelings still cling to the races.
Religion: While still following the ideals of Veld, many Tsarren have taken to false gods. A pantheon known as The Court has become increasingly popular and cult-like. Some have even turned away from all religion, and live their lives with little to no morals. Those with few children are generally the ones who have turned from Veld.
Languages: Tsarish, a common language spoken in cities around the globe, and the Tsarren's mother tongue. They also speak Common Tongue. Tsarren who work in trade often know more languages.
    Common First Names: wip
    Common Surnames: wip
Strengths: Tsarren are quite strong and dexterous. They are competent with many weapons, including bladed weapons and bows. Tsarren are not as vulnerable to poisons as Eclarit and Viators are. They tend to keep emotions in check, and are a very stoic race. They are good at fighting and strategy. They have the ability to trade much easier than other races because of their well-known status.
Weaknesses: Tsarren are not extremely wise. They tend to act before they think in many situations that don't require strategy. They tend to make snap judgments on others, and don't like those who don't conform to their ways of life. They can be a bit bigoted towards other races, especially those that seem lesser in society than them. They are not extremely strong, and are not well known for intense physical labor.
    Favored Weapons: Swords and bows
Common Occupations: Many occupations are available to them, but most common are trader, general laborer, nobility, and governmental leaders.
Gender Roles: Tsarrens are highly patriarchal. The women are expected to stay at home and stay safe, as well as protect the children. They are to be home makers and child rearing folk. The men are expected to go out and do the heavy jobs that pose a risk to their life, like mining or being a soldier/guard. The men are the ones running their government. Women in the workplace are strange to them, and the Raghatt confuse them greatly.
Leadership Roles: Each Tsarren city or town is ruled by a Baron, and the city is divided into sections which are ruled by Mayors. Sometimes, these Mayors will split their sections up into smaller subsections, which are then ruled by Wardens. Each Baron, Mayor, and Warden have their own set of guards.

  • Basic Traits-
General Behavior: Medolthi are very childlike in behavior. They love tricks and pranks, both playing them on people and getting them played on themselves. Not organized in a militarized way, or much in the way of government, they depend on the other races for these things. There are very few Medolthi cities, and only a few settlements. They tend to not like fighting, though some do. If Medolthi do fight, they rely on their magic over weapons. Medolthi love attention, and will do just about anything to keep the spotlight on them.
Physical Description: Scaled and winged, Medolthi are reminiscent of dragons of myth. They are covered in scales from head to toe, but their faces are not like a dragon snout. They have webbed ears, and their noses are slightly more flat than other races. Medolthi come in various different colors. These colors are telling of what magic they can easily master. There are ten different colors of Medolthi. There are red, orange, yellow, green, blue, indigo, white, black, pink, and prismatic. Red are masters of Blood magic; Orange are masters of Sensory magic; Yellow are masters of Energy magic; Green are masters of Poison magic; Blue are masters of Sound magic; Indigo are masters of Psionic magic; White are masters of Shapechanging magic; Black are masters of Summoning magic; Pink are masters of Healing magic; Prismatic are masters of Illusion magic.

Medolthi stay rather small throughout their lives. Never very tall, they are usually 4'-5' in height. They have slight frames, and have hollow bones for flying. They are very light. They have strong nails which act like claws. They are not curved, but are much thicker and are not smooth. They grow quickly but are usually kept trimmed from constant use. The Medolthi live a much shorter lifespan than others. They tend to live only until 40 years. The oldest living Medolthi is 49, while the oldest in history was 53.
Civilization: Medolthi do not have much civilization of their own, and tend to conform to whatever culture they find themselves in. Mostly found in cities anymore, they still appear in the occasional town and village. Only a handful of Medolthi villages remain.
Relations: Medolthi have a sour relationship with many races. While not bad, many races tire of their antics. The Viator tolerate them, and sometimes do trade. The Eclarit are slightly bitter towards them for being able to fly and also flaunting it and teasing them for not being able to, but it never escalates past prejudice considering both of them are rather peaceful. They enjoy being around Tsarren the most, because they are the most interested in their abilities. They very much so dislike the Raghatt, because they are destructive and treat magic disrespectfully. They generally fight against the Raghatt when they cross paths in a hostile manner. They tend to leave the Ilenei alone, though have gotten into some battles with their forces as well.
Lands: Medolthi stick to the mountains and plateaus. They love to be up high and in slightly cool areas, so caves and mountains are perfect for them. The mountain cities are crawling with Medolthi who want nothing more than to stay in the high altitudes. All Medolthi villages are found in mountains.
Population: Medolthi make up 14% of the population. A good number of them exist, but they treat child rearing as something unnecessary. While they do have short lives, they tend to want to make the most out of them, and don't feel like wasting their time with children. Those who have children are seen as honorable, however, and are not shunned in the slightest.

    Culture Traits-
History: The third race created by Veld, the Medolthi were created in the Plasma Guardian's image. They were given the gift of magic, and told to teach it to the world. They did just that. Because of their natural magical abilities, they were able to quickly master all kinds of magic, and teach others. They were in a short lived war with the Raghatt, which was only concerning some land. The Medolthi quickly gave it up and moved elsewhere. They have stayed a relatively peaceful race throughout their lives, and just kept to themselves.
Religion: Generally they follow the majority, which is usually Veld. Some have started to think that there is no god, and that the Guardians themselves are the forces that created the planet.
Languages: The language of Medol is their mother tongue, but some aren't even being taught it. They generally rely on Common Tongue.
    Common First Names: wip
    Common Surnames: wip
Strengths: Medolthi can fly with ease. They also have the greatest magical ability of all the races, making their magic even more intense. Their scales offer some slight natural armor, which definitely makes up for their bones. They are very quick, even on the ground, making them great at escaping dire situations. High tolerance to poisons.
Weaknesses: Their hollow bones make them very fragile. They can't take much physicality before crumbling. They are naive and are often not good thinkers. They are smaller than any other race.
    Favored Weapons: Spears and crossbows
Common Occupations: Shop owners, scouts, teachers, cooks/bakers
Gender Roles: Medolthi do not have very strict gender roles. Women are generally the ones to stay at home to nurse the children, but they otherwise are all equal.
Leadership Roles: Medolthi do not have much of a government outside of the ones they follow. However, in their small villages, they have multiple leaders, and tend to use a democracy of votes instead of one person telling everyone else what to do.

  • Basic Traits-
General Behavior: The Raghatt are a very brutish and war mongering people. They revel in violence, and frankly find peace to be a waste of time. Always looking for a way to release pent up stress and energy, many Raghatt holidays are focused around violence. Every day is a new day for fighting. Many Raghatt are fearless, making them a very fearsome foe. They are highly determined, and will continue to their goal (usually killing something) no matter the situation.
Physical Description: Raghatt are huge, bulking creatures. Their skin is ashen white, and their eyes are generally red or brown. While many just shave off their white hair, some do keep it. However, long hair is a sign of masculinity, which is frowned upon in Raghatt culture. Their ears are rounded, though their lobes are longer than average. Lobes are not to be pierced, as that is seen to be an insult to the Raghatt's mother, because the one who pierces their skin thinks they are not made perfect. Painting the skin is a common practice, and is a highly regarded art. Those who cannot paint are considered to be even lower than those who cannot fight.

Raghatt are incredibly tall, dwarfing even many Tsarren. They stand 7'-8' tall on average, though some tribes that value height can get as tall as 9'. They are massive creatures, with large bones and intense muscles. They are quite heavy because of this. An army of Raghatt are not to be trifled with, and a charging one can make anyone surrender. Raghatt can technically live to be roughly 140 years old. However, because of their culture, they rarely make it past 50. The oldest known living Raghatt is 92, while the oldest in history was 143. These are usually respected people of their culture, who were such good warriors, they never died from battle, and no one dared to challenge them anymore.
Civilization: Raghatt live in large tribes, each having different values and cultures. Visiting Raghatt tribes, it is easy to see that they are extremely different, even within the same race.
Relations: Raghatt have a shaky relationship with every race. They have declared war on more than one race, and intruded on lands before. The Viator do not like them, because of the genocide, despite reparatory actions made by Raghatt. Eclarit are wary about them, for being a warring race and for chopping down their forests. The Tsarren do not appreciate their culture, and think they are very backwards for letting the women rule. Ilenei just dislike them as a whole, because they're surface dwellers and they are violent without a cause.
Lands: Raghatt have claimed the wastes to the west, near the foothills of the mountains, and near some volcanoes. Their territory has encroached a bit on the Tsarren lands, which has angered them slightly.
Population: 11% of the world is made up of Raghatt. They tend to die quickly because of their war-like culture, so their population dwindles quickly. However, they have never been near extinction, and no one wants to even try to kill them off.
    Famous People: wip

    Culture Traits-
History: The Raghatt have a lot of history. Their tribal life and distance from other races has made the Raghatt something completely different. They were the fourth race created by Veld. However, Veld distanced himself from the Raghatt. He paid more attention to his more peaceful creations. In his absence, the Raghatt made their own deities. These were all previous Raghatt heroes, or at least very good warriors. The Raghatt are very territorial, which has produced some of the small wars throughout history.
Religion: They worship their past leaders and warriors as gods. They vary at every village and settlement. The one they all worship as a whole is Mihna Kel, the greatest Raghatt Warpriestess who ever lived.
Languages: Most Raghatt only know Raghesh. Some more intelligent ones know some broken Common Tongue.
    Common First Names:
    Common Surnames:
    Strengths:
They are extremely good at fighting, and are very strong. With their superb body painting skills, even the most clumsy of Raghatt can be a little hidden in the bushes.
Weaknesses: Raghatt are not very intelligent. They are not "civilized" enough to be found in many cities, and they are too large to work with fine crafts.
Favored Weapons: Raghatt prefer large, blunt instruments. However, it is not unheard of for them to use spears. They don't believe in ranged weaponry. Those are for cowards.
Common Occupations: Mercenaries and bodyguards outside of their society.
Gender Roles: Women are thought of very highly, and are put into leadership positions. Men are looked down upon and are usually the ones tending to herds and doing menial tasks to help their family. They are the ones who take care of the children, though wet nurses are available to feed the children when the wives go off to war or hunt.
Leadership Roles: In Raghatt tribes, everything is usually different depending on the tribe. However, a commonality is having a woman in charge. This woman, known as a warpriestess, is the greatest warrior of that tribe at the time. Anyone can challenge her at any time to gain the title. However, if they lose, they die. The warpriestess has advisors of men and women, who also act as her personal harem if she so desires.

  • Basic Traits-
General Behavior: The Ilenei are a very mysterious race. No one knows much about them, because they are hermits. They despise the surface dwellers, and stay underground in their homes. Not much is known about their dwellings, either. In Ilenei culture, it is strange to want to go to the surface. Those who go are not welcome back in their underground. The Ilenei have their own little paradise underground, and very little strife between them. The only wars they have fought were ones where the surface dwellers were encroaching on the underground.
Physical Description: Ilenei look a bit like amphibians and fish. They have evolved in the underground lakes and rivers, to withstand high pressure, low oxygen, and darkness. They all have very light colored skin, almost a bit blue in color. The men look much different from the women, almost a different species.

Ilenei men are bipedal. They can walk on two legs, or on hands and feet if they desire. Their palms and soles excrete sticky liquid and contain pads used for climbing all manner of surfaces. They have small eyes, which are very light in color. They are photosensitive, and do not like bright lights. Their skin ranges from a very light blue-green to white. They are bald, and contain no distinctive facial markings. They have gills on their neck, which can be opened and closed, depending on if they are in water or on land. While they can't be away from water for too long, they can generally stay out for at least a week before negative effects start to show. They have webbed hands and feet, which makes swimming much easier. The males are small and compact, but very strong. They tend to average 5' tall, but some as small as 4' have been known. Males live for roughly 50 years.

Female Ilenei are much different. They are completely water-dependent. Unlike males, they cannot leave the water. Not only do they not have legs, they have not adapted the ability to breath out of water. Ilenei females have squid-like appendages for swimming. Females have spiny fins on their heads, which can be very elegant and beautiful or simple and plain. Their hands are webbed, making it easier for them to swim. They cannot climb like the males, but they can station themselves in water so they don't move. They have gills along their neck, and lack noses. Their eyes are thin, and contain a milky film to protect them from debris when swimming quickly. They have extremely good eyesight.
Civilization: Found in a single large civilization, with very few offshoots. It is considered a part of daily life to simply live with the rest of the Ilenei. Because of this, they only have one large underwater city, and some settlements where the men can stay if too far from their home.
Relations: Ilenei hate every race. They despise surface dwellers, and will tend to either be hostie or downright dangerous to those who find their way underground. They absolutely despise Tsarren though, and they will generally kill on sight.
    Lands: All of the underground
Population: 19% or the people are Ilenei. Thanks to the lack of natural predators and the fact that many people just leave them alone, they are allowed to breed in peace.
    Famous People: wip

    Culture Traits-
History: According to the scriptures, Ilenei were created as the fifth race, and some even say the final race. They were created as caretakers of Veld himself, and to always honor his values. It is said that the oldest and most sacred of Veld's traditions are still known and practiced by the Ilenei. They haven't entered very many wars, and many of their wars were only because they were invaded. They themselves are very peaceful as a whole. It's only when surface dwellers find their way into the underground that they are dangerous.
Religion: The Ilenei are, somewhat surprisingly, the most staunch worshipers of Veld and his teachings. It is a death sentence to publicly worship anyone or anything else. They've heard of the false gods of the surface, and think that the barbarians should be smote by his divine wrath. They do not agree with any other teachings, something that is widely accepted.
Languages: Barely any Ilenei speak Common Tongue. They speak the language of Veld, which they call Devish.

Eclarit: feathered humanoids with curved, sharp beaks and wings on their arms and tail feathers. Not capable of flight, but can glide. Hands are scaly and clawed. Found living in highly vegetation dense areas, such as forests. Rather tall.

Viator: basically human nomads

Tsarren: green skinned humanoids, often found living in the flat lands of prairies or deserts. They stand very tall in comparison to Viator. Their ears are pointed, but curve inwards.

Medolthi: scaly folk with wings on their back. They are short and thin, and are very light due to their hollow bones. Very childlike in appearance, Medolthi seem to stop aging after a certain point. They have a slightly shorter lifespan than most. Come in various colors. Found in mountainous areas.

Raghatt: A highly aggressive and militarized race. Raghatt have pure white skin, which is painted various colors for the occasion. They are bred to be warriors, though the women are taught much more than the men. A generally matriarchal society, led by a Raghatt Warpriestess and her harem/attendants who act as advisers of sorts.

Ilenei: A race of aquatic creatures, Ilenei are highly poisonous. They live in the underground lakes and rivers. While their poison is harmless when ingested, they make most others extremely ill and cause death. They tend to be hermits, shunning the surface dwellers. The ones who do live on land wear protective clothing when interacting with others.

Celestial bodies were generally not considered important before false religions came to be. The only things that were incredibly important were constellations, because they were given to the mortals by Veld. Constellations are written in his word.

The importance of the stars and planets came with the rise of The Court, otherwise known as Jairinism, after their chief god Jairin. The brightest stars in the sky are considered to be minor gods, and have been named as such. The planets are thought to be major gods.

Magic can be learned by anyone with enough patience. The source of magic is one's own being. The amount of willpower one has determines how powerful their magic is and how much they can use of it. Once their magic runs out, they cannot use anymore until they rest for a while. Magic reserves that were run dry generally refill in a day.

There are 10 schools of magic, outside of the magic that the Guardians provide their host. These schools of magic can be learned by anyone, while the Guardians give specialized powerful magic based upon the elements of the world. Magic was thought to be given by Veld and perfected by the Medolthi.

Schools-
Blood Magic: A rather dangerous magic, blood magic requires a source of blood in order to function. The user will likely carry around vials of blood, or use their own in a pinch.

Sound Magic: This magic is based upon sounds. It is able to create sounds out of nowhere, and also make sounds louder or softer. Can be offensive if powerful enough, otherwise just used for tricks and stealth.

Healing Magic: A very sought after type of magic. While it's not so powerful to bring people back to life, it can heal anyone still alive. It does take some time, an it's not instantaneous, but it's much better than using conventional means.

Poison Magic: This magic involves emitting poison from skin, spit, and just about anything else the user can think of. Very deadly to the enemies, where those with poison magic gain a resistance spell to all forms of poison.

Psionic Magic: A magic that affects the mind. This is a very dangerous magic, for the caster and the victim. Many spells found in this school are offensive, harming the minds of the victims. However, even the simplest spell can harm the user.

Illusion Magic:

Shapechanging Magic:
