Wonderealm Society

Interest Check

This roleplay is a call to all fans of Alice in Wonderland! The Wonderealm Society is a group roleplay centered around a wonderland that is slightly different than the books. With the help of roleplay perks, I hope to make this a fun endeavor for all!

A Place to Wonder

There is a special place down below, another world full of topsy-turvy ideals; and mysterious creatures of all shapes and sizes. Four courts rule this land, laying down the law across the continent of Wonderealm. The Bloody Hearts are the fiercest court of all; they show no mercy, using brutalist ways to exact revenge. The Midnight Clubs find new ways to use dark wonderland magic to their advantage, harnessing the moon's energy to make magnificent creations for their court. The Radiant Diamonds seek to harness all wonderland magic and to use it to better the Wonderealm for all. They are the most benevolent of the four courts and a friend to all travelers. The last court that rules over Wonderealm is called the Abyssal Spades. They deal in the shadiest side of the Bazaar and can procure items of a varying rarity for a price. Whether you be a passing traveler or a Wonderealm native, there is a place for all to wonder about here.

Roleplay Perks

I have added several roleplay perks to this game to make it all the more fun to play! In total, there are seven perks that I will briefly explain below. If you have any questions on how to use roleplay perks, please let me know!

When creating a character, there are five classes you may pick for them. Each one has an Alice in Wonderland character they represent. More information on each one is below.

Curiosa Class - Alice

The class that investigates and explores things that are curious. This class is for characters who love to adventure and explore the unknown.

Guidera Class - White Rabbit

The class that guides others through the never ending wonder-landscape. This class is for characters who navigate Wonder as messengers.

Alchemista Class - Absolem/Caterpillar

The class that deals with all forms of alchemy and unlocking the secrets of Wonderland Magic. This class is for characters who want to study deep into Wonderland Magic and it's properties.

Daredevila Class - March Hare

This class is for the tougher wonderland inhabitants that need to either protect or hunt with maddening tactics! No risk is too great.

Illusiona Class - Cheshire Cat

The class that studies transformation spells and how different wonder orbs influence those spells. This class is for characters who want to transform their ordinary lifestyle into something wonderful and exciting!

Class Type

When you choose a class in this game, you will select which type you want to pursue. There are two routes for you to pick from; Pure or Dual type. More information about the two is down below.

Pure Class Type

If you pick the Pure Type, you will only have access to one classes' ranks and skill trees. Having this type will allow your character to unlock additional perks for the specific class. A Pure Class character has access to class-specific items and craftings reagents that Dual cannot use. Certain challenges are meant for Pure Type classes only as well.

Dual Class Type

If you pick the Dual Type, you may select up to two classes you can take on at once. For each class you take on, you may only unlock half of the ranks and skill trees. However, there are specific abilities and challenges that benefit from being a Dual Type. Certain Courts in Wonderealm offer benefits for those who choose this path too.

Ranks are essentially levels for a class. Each class has 30 ranks in total. There can be higher ranks in the future if deemed necessary, but for now, your goal is to roleplay actions related to your class to gain ranks. These actions will vary depending on which you have. If you choose the Dual-Type, only 15 of the ranks will be available to unlock for each class. Ranks will reward you with currency, wonder orbs, crafting reagents, and other helpful items for your journey through Wonderealm. Every three ranks there is a specific challenge for you to complete. A few ideas for ranks is listed below, an extensive list can be found in the official thread when it's made.

Curos Rank Allegiance:

This Allegiance is for the Curiosa Class. Some actions you can take to rank up are investigating unique places, identifying items for all sorts of purposes, and even haggling for better deals in the bazaar.

Gedra Rank Allegiance:

This Allegiance is for the Guidera Class. You can gain rank by delivering messages, successfully navigating through a wonderscape, and hosting special events for Wonderealm.

Alkmi Rank Allegiance:

This Allegiance is for the Alchemista Class. You may gain a rank when you execute a magic spell correctly, create a good potion, or identify unique Wonderealm creatures.

Dareo Rank Allegiance:

This Allegiance is for the Daredevila Class. You may gain a rank when you slay a monster, execute great strength, or manage a feat of daring.

Illosu Rank Allegiance:

This Allegiance is for the Illusiona Class. You will gain a rank when you successfully execute a transformation spell, use wonder orbs properly, or create an Illusion.

Having Rank Allegiance will grant certain bonuses in the game. They will also allow you to gain influence with important figures in Wonderealm. When your rank is high, your allegiance will be strong and affect how the game plays out.

There are ten skill trees that your character can level up for exciting rewards in the game. You need skill points to utilize the trees; you gain these in several ways. All of the trees are available to use for any character; however, depending on your class, some trees will require more skill points to level up than others. A list of the skill trees is below.
  • Exploration Tree
  • Investigation Tree
  • Linguistics Tree
  • Crafting Tree
  • Magic Tree
  • Alchemy Tree
  • Physical Tree
  • Material Tree
  • Transformation Tree
  • Propagation Tree

In this roleplay, there is a crafting system. This crafting system allows you to make intriguing items that aid your adventures in Wonderealm. These items come in categories of various versions that you can make. The crafting process consists of four steps; finding the recipe, discerning the method of creation, actually crafting the item, and lastly, a ceremony of purity that rates the effectiveness of the craft you made. When you are discerning the method of creation, there are two possible ways to do this. The first method of the crafting system is using ingredients. Creating potions uses this the most. The second method is collecting pieces of Womi to conjure the item you require. The Womi are mysterious Wonderealm relics, that when combined on a crafting table, make whatever the user desires. This particular way of crafting is the hardest as Womi are not easy to acquire. If you have ideas for the crafting system, input is wanted! Here are the main "categories" of the crafting mechanic.
  • Hats
  • Timepieces
  • Canes
  • Umbrellas
  • Weapons
  • Cards
  • Jackets
  • Tops
  • Bottoms
  • Jewelry
  • Food

Categories are the type of item you can craft, while the versions of these items give different results and effects. Versions are things like Tophat of Wonder for Hats, Ivory Staff for Canes, and Shadow Hourglass for Timepieces.

The Bazaar is the term for all shops you may find in Wonderealm. This place is where you conduct your shopping for items with the currency called Wondera. The best way to earn this coin is by completing challenges; however, you can find it on every corner of Wonderealm. If you acquire items along your journeys, you may sell them to the right buyer. There are tales of a place below all Bazaars; the Under of these establishments is the best place for black market items. The Abyssal Spades run most of the business here, but a few strangers come and go with unique one-time items. Overall you can use the Bazaar to find or sell any item you may choose.

There are eight types of Wonderealm magic. This magic manifests itself as orbs of different colors. They can be found high and low throughout the realm. When using any Wonderealm magic under the moonlight, you have a chance of it turning dark. This reaction means that whatever you were trying to do has an opposite, more negative effect instead. Usually, most do not dabble in dark magic; however, the Midnight Clubs seek to perfect this form of sorcery. The moon phases are crucial in Wonderealm as it is only safest to cast at night on the New Moon.

Magic Types:

  • Elemental
  • Conjuration
  • Consumable
  • Botanical
  • Chemical
  • Alteration
  • Restoration
  • Affinity

Wonder Orbs:

Wonder orbs are manifestations of wonderland magic. They can appear anywhere in Wonderealm, but certain orbs appear in particular places and events. The orbs are all different colors, so wherever the terrain matches are where you'll find them.

Red Orbs - Roal :

Roal is the manifestation of Elemental magic. The Elements of Wonderealm are Fire, Water, Earth, Air, Plant, and Blood. You can infuse this orb into potions, power up similar spells, or give yourself a random element to control for two posts.

Orange Orbs - Orne :

Orne is the manifestation of Conjuration magic. You can summon many creatures and items with these orbs. Infusing Womi with this orb will double your output at the crafting table. You can use Orne to befriend Wonderealm creatures as long as you have enough to subdue them.

Yellow Orbs - Yimn :

Yimn is the manifestation of Consumable magic. You can use these orbs to power up food, drink, and potions of all kinds. If you come across inedible ingredients, fusing a Yimn with it will make it usable. Depending on the item you infuse it with, the outcome of the product will vary.

Green Orbs - Grok :

Grok is the manifestation of Botanical magic. Orbs of this kind enhance nature of all sorts. Grok is used to yield higher crops in some farming communities in Wonderealm. This orb can even make flora have the ability to travel alongside you. Where it is most abundant, there are always unique plant specimens to see.

Blue Orbs - Boln :

Boln is the manifestation of Chemical magic. The process of Alchemy cannot go anywhere without the use of these orbs. They are a component in potion making and transmutation. Every Boln has the potential to create a magnificent reaction.

Purple Orbs - Puz :

Puz is the manifestation of Alteration magic. If you use these orbs for crafting, they are sure to fortify it. When you combine Puz and another item, there are many bonuses that they will receive. The best way to use this orb is to combine them with cards. The right combination can achieve great results.

Pink Orbs - Pag :

Pag is the manifestation of Restoration magic. Healers use this orb to patch wounds of all sorts. You will need more Pag the worst the problem is. If you need to restore an item, it is also excellent for this. Terminal conditions need potions infused with Pag to ease the pain; however, it won't cure everything.

Brown Orbs - Befi :

Befi is the manifestation of Affinity magic. The most common practice is to combine the orb with mushrooms. This combination enhances the magical properties and extends the effects. Although, Befi can produce all sorts of powers depending on the user's Affinity to certain things.

There are many challenges to be had across Wonderealm. These consist of a variety of quests for your character to complete. Some challenges pop up while wandering the country; others are rites of passage as you rank up in your allegiance. If you complete the challenge, you gain rewards for your character to use. This prize could be Wondera, Skill Points, Wonder Orbs, and other items. When you want to partake in a challenge, be sure to claim it on the Challenge Board. This thread will be where you collect rewards and find new quests to pursue. Certain events are posted on the Challenge Board as well.

A Realm of Wonder

There is a special place down below, another world full of topsy-turvy ideals; and mysterious creatures of all shapes and sizes. For those who don't align themselves with any court, the society of Freedom Riders has carved out a place where you are free to be whoever or whatever you wish. The rules are few and far between here. Whether you be a passing traveler or a Wonderealm native, there is a place for all to wonder about here.

The Prophecy of Ancients

Unearthed in a forgotten temple, a prophecy that foretells the end of all deities has been found. This prophecy speaks about ancient beings that came before the gods. These beings were tricked and cast out of their home by the gods. They were left in a slumber that was not to be disturbed. However, on the day of the solar eclipse, there will be a moment in time where the first will awaken and call to the others. If the others hear and respond the gods shall be doomed to the same fate they cast the Ancients.

The Four Legends

Roleplay Post goes here.

Gnarlinstaire Champions

Interest Check

If you like twisted fairytales and battles of epic proportion, this roleplay might interest you! Gnarlinstaire Champions is an idea about saving twisted fairytales corrupted by the seven deadly sins and more. The themes are more mature depending on the sin the champions are currently facing. If you feel like this is something you would join, let me know! More information about the roleplay is below:

Saviors of Lore

The portals to Gnarlinstaire are everywhere. Every corner of the earth may have these entrances to a world of magic and fairy tales of old. For a long time, there was peace within the realm. The various creatures and people mingled happily in their world, but with so many ways to get in, it was only a matter of time before evil would seek Gnarlinstaire out.

The Nexa entered Gnarlinstaire and tricked everyone with gifts and advanced technology. They displayed great power and asked the people a request; let us build our Nexus. Not having realized what this meant, they agreed, and soon the construction of the Nexus began. They told them it would divide the realm into districts, seven for each Elder Nexa to rule. To ease the Gnarlinstaire creatures' worries, they gave them a feast before the grand opening of the Nexus and its districts. This feast poisoned their minds and sunk evil into the hearts of the fairytales, twisting them up in the name of the sins.

The world of Gnarlinstaire spiraled into darkness, a century of evil churning in the Nexus. Unbeknownst to the Nexa, a few souls escaped the feast and returned to earth. These lost tales grew accustomed to their new home and lived on, warning their children about the dangers of Gnarlinstaire. With so many stories passed on to new generations, the curiosity grew strong. Some of them spoke of justice, and to liberate their old homeland. Others knew it was a risky idea. They would need help if they were to save Gnarlinstaire. They would need to become champions.

Twisted Fairytales

There are currently seven twisted fairytales. The main characters of the fairytales would be leading the districts, while the Elder Nexa would guard the entrance to the area in the Nexus proper. Depending on the sin, there is a different method to be allowed inside the district. The goal is to save the fairytales inside the area and then defeat each Elder Nexa with help. Although there are only seven sins usually, if you have an idea for a type of evil or sin that's unrelated to the others, feel free to suggest it.

Lust - Beauty and the Beast
Pride - Snow White and the Seven Dwarves
Greed - Rumpelstiltskin
Envy - Cinderella
Gluttony - Hansel and Gretel
Wrath - Red Riding Hood
Sloth - Sleeping Beauty

Roleplay Perks

I have added some roleplay perks to spice it up! Brief details about each extra is in the spoilers below:

Brief Introduction

The first roleplay perk in Gnarlinstaire Champions is the Champion System; this system consists of four main categories, the varieties of Champions, Champion Levels, Champion ranks and their features, and Champion Skills. Your champion can be one of the varieties listed below; this allows them to specialize their playstyle differently. Traveling through Gnarlinstaire is strenuous work, and as you accomplish things, your level will increase. The higher your level, the more dangerous opponents you can face, among other things. Each variety has ranks you can achieve through roleplaying actions related to the description of each. These ranks have various features or "feats" that your character acquires by ranking up. Finally, all Champions have access to skills that makes their epic quest easier. To get better at a skill, you must study the ways of it. As you level and rank up, your abilities gained from studying will increase too.

Champion Varieties

For every variety, they have values on their Ideology, Attacks, Niche, and Weaknesses. The Ideology is how this Champion views the world; their Attacks are the primary way they fight the evil in Gnarlinstaire, and a Niche is an extra perk given to only that Champion. The Weaknesses are the main thing to be wary of as this Champion.
Champion Ideology

>> Slay All <<

To be a Haxer Champion, one must embrace the idea of slaying all those who oppose you and hurt your friends. There is no one more willing to cut down evil than this warrior. It seems that fighting is all they know, and most would like to get to know their weapons better than a person.

Champion Attacks

>> Weapons <<

A Haxer Champion utilizes all weapons in their battle tactics. They can use their skills to get better at specific weapons, but if it has the possibility of killing someone, this warrior can use it.

Champion Niche

>> Quick Strike <<

This Champion can use the niche Quick Strike once per every other post-turn. Quick Strike allows a moment of speed during a battle that gives a favor bonus for the outcome.

Champion Weakness

>> Plans of Action <<

When someone has a well-thought-out plan to defeat this Champion, the ploy succeeds more often than not. It can take a team effort, for a Haxer, to beat someone who plans out their actions. Some Haxer Champions are a little more slash-happy than others and can hinder projects rather than help them.

Champion Ideology

>> Guard Everyone <<

Defentil Champions wish to protect everyone around them. They are the wall between good and evil and do everything they can to serve justly. They are a purveyor of wholesome ideas and gather crowds effortlessly. Their only wish is to defend those who cannot aid themselves.

Champion Attacks

>> Defensive Maneuvers <<

A Defentil Champion uses defensive attacks against its opponents. They utilize shields of all types. This warrior is all about protecting others and defending the objective. The way they attack is methodical, waiting to strike at precisely the right time.

Champion Niche

>> Block First <<

The Niche for this Champion, Block First, allows them to block one direct attack once per every other post-turn. This hard block gives a negative impact bonus when determining the outcome of the fight.

Champion Weakness

>> Faster Opponents <<

Those that are quick to action may hinder Defentil Champions. When one's speed hits in the right way against this warrior, they have trouble keeping up. As this Champion is worried about blocking and defending their friends, a hasty slash to the back could land if they're not careful.

Champion Idealogy

>> Befriend Nature <<

A Bestius Champion seeks to befriend the creatures around them and use them to their advantage. They are friends with all animals and respect the nature around them. The life of others is a gift to them, and they do their best to honor it even when it has passed on.

Champion Attacks

>> Summons <<

The creatures that they befriend help out with attacks as summons. Different species that they charm come forth as the Champion needs them. They can also assume the form of certain animals that care for them deeply.

Champion Niche

>> Monster Gauge <<

The Niche Monster Gauge allows the Bestius Champion to sense how easy it is to befriend a creature or monster. This power will help them with the way they befriend animals of all kinds. Each species has a different way of earning its respect. An evil monster is the hardest to charm and will require extra help to save it.

Champion Weakness

>> No Boundaries <<

The Bestius Champion has no boundaries what's so ever. They tend to go too far when it comes to befriending a beast. They get into trouble and need help because a monster does not respond well to their charms. These actions can translate to people as well but are mostly related to their efforts in being friendly to animals.

Bloros Capital - Bloody Hearts Castle

Bloody Hearts Castle

Deep in the Bloros Region, there is the capital in which a grand castle stands at the center of a dismal-looking place. The Bloody Hearts Court holds their daily business in this castle as such, many executions are decided upon here, and the air is palpable with dread. The castle bricks are a lovely shade of red, as are most things in this capital. It stands on a patch of land between Sanguine Lake and the outer Wonderealm Ocean. It is tall and menacing against smoldering skies as some volcanoes are still active up to the north. The castle's guards are abundant and ready to defend against intrusion, with even benign requests to enter met with much hostility. Those should be in good sorts with the Court to even think about leaving the castle alive. The blood of their enemies lines the courtyard's foundation. Overall the outward appearance of the castle itself is menacing and unbearable at most. Only those daring enough find this place suitable.

If one were to get the chance to see the inside and live, they would find it clothed in the most elegant tapestries, with weapons adorning the walls, some still even bearing a blood stain from the past. Opening the castle's inner doors, you can find a giant foyer with two grand staircases flowing up to the second story. A red carpet is sprawled across the steps and leads to almost every other room in the castle. Between the two staircases is a hallway that leads into the back of the fortress. Inner balconies jut out from the higher stories as they are attached to rooms in the living quarters upstairs. Small Alcloves are carved into the bottom walls to display menacing statues that seem to be watching your every move. Most of the inner brickwork of the castle is a deep red, with slightly whiter columns to support the architecture.

The people in the positions of the Court each have a place to call their own in the castle. Through the second story's french doors, there is a hallway that goes around the upper floor. The best chambers are for the Queen and King. The other rooms are just as splendid but lack the fancy adornments. Finally, through the hallway in the foyer, you will find several places related to keeping up the Court. The first ones you come upon are the War and Council rooms. The War room is for planning strategies about the Bloody Hearts' next move, while the Council room is for the Court to decide upon executions and ruling their people. If you travel further down the hallway, you will find the kitchens, baths, and servant blocks. Contrary to popular belief, the castle has no dungeons; the Court prefers to keep prisoners at the Gallows. Overall the Bloody Hearts castle is a formidable place, and not one to enter lightly.

The Ultimate Roleplay Perk Repository

A PROJECT FOR ALL

Over the years of being a GM, I have put what I'd like to call "Roleplay Perks" in my games. Some of you may name these extras something different, but for the sake of the project, we will call them as such. My goal in posting this is to make a sort of repository of various mechanics and ideas that would be considered perks to a normal roleplay. I think it would be awesome if more GMs had the knowledge and help to add these to whatever group or even one x one they desire.

There will be individual guides for each perk that break them down in detail. This initial thread is for brainstorming ideas and specific mechanics for each possible roleplay perk in bulk. This project is my effort to help Game Master's across the site with the nitty-gritty of crafting roleplays. If you want to add a perk to our list, there is an optional form you can fill out. Thank you for reading!

PERK GUIDE NAVIGATION

This list will denote what roleplay perks we are brainstorming, and as soon as we have enough information to make the official guide, I will post a separate thread with it to be linked here. The list is endless; the more ideas for other Game Master's, the better!
  • Leveling and Experience Systems - Current
  • Character Classifications
  • Rank Systems
  • Skills, Abilities, and Power Perks
  • The Hidden Object System
  • Theme Specific Perks

HELPFUL FORMS

Idea Form

A form for original ideas to be submitted to the list:

Roleplay Perk Name: [What would you name this idea?]
Basic Concept: [A Brief Description of Concept]
Difficulty: [How Difficult is the Idea to Execute?]
Extra Information: [Anything extra]

Question Form

More of helpful questions than a form itself:

How does this perk work?
What are the required steps to execute this perk?
What is the benefit from using this perk in my game?
What is the easiest way to keep track of this perk?

Contribution Form

A form for contrubting to the list of already made ideas:

Bloros Capital - Bloody Hearts Gallows

Bloody Hearts Gallows

This foreboding place sits between the Capitol Castle and the Barracks on the edge of Sanguine Lake. Although they are called the Gallows, hanging isn't the only way to take another's life here. There are many tools of torture located along the grounds. The Gallows are more of a dungeon for the Bloody Hearts Court, as they prefer to hold their slaughter away from home. There is a lone hanging noose; swaying in the wind, which marks the entrance. Those of the Court visit occasionally, but anyone else that isn't in their favor here is most surely goners. The motto of the Gallows is "Cum capitibus suis!" or "Off with their heads!".

The lake is said to have gained its blood-red color by the Gallows. The Bloody Hearts Court don't mind dumping the bodies of their enemies into the lake, and thus, over the years, its once pristine blue hue changed to a maroon shade. It is within every citizen's best interest that they stay in line and follow the Court Rules to the letter, or else they may end up here. The leaders of the Bloody Hearts Court can be cruel and malicious to even the best of people. They usually stick to torturing their own, yet there is always a worry in the back of other courts' minds that they too might end up as fodder. No war has come about yet, the delicate peace remaining intact. However, if that day were to arise, then the end would soon be near for all.

The Ultimate Roleplay Perk Repository

LEVELING AND EXPERIENCE SYSTEMS INTRODUCTION

Similar to a leveling system you would see in a video game, this perk is a way to measure a player character's achievements in your game. By accomplishing actions that further your narrative, the character gains points towards the next level. Each level grants the PC different things depending on your game itself. This addition to the URPR will break down how to add a Leveling System to your game in four different categories; Game Master Difficulty, Leveling Up, Tracking Progress, and System Rewards. Additional questions to discuss are at the bottom.

GAME MASTER DIFFICULTY

The Game Master Difficulty of this perk is determined by how many levels you want your players to achieve in the long run. The more levels you wish to have, the more difficult it can be to manage and maintain the roleplay. For the sake of this guide, we will make five difficulty ranks as examples.

Difficulty Rank #1:

Level Cap 10-25

The first difficulty rank has a level cap of ten to twenty-five. I would consider this rank the simplest to execute. Your game's leveling system is a minor part of the game, and the scale of the abilities and rewards is to a lesser degree.

Difficulty Rank #2:

Level Cap 30-45

The second difficulty rank has a level cap of thirty to forty-five. The difficulty is increased by NPC difficulty. This perk gives your players a minor challenge in leveling up as they have more tasks to overcome. The rewards are slightly better than rank one.

Difficulty Rank #3:

Level Cap 50-65

The third difficulty rank has a level cap of fifty to sixty-five. This rank is in the middle range in Game Master Difficulty. For a game with a dedicated plot, the third rank is perfect. The NPCs are at medium difficulty, and the tasks the player needs to accomplish to level up are more involved. The rewards are mid-grade and flow with the plot theme.

Difficulty Rank #4:

Level Cap 70-85

The fourth difficulty rank has a level cap of seventy to eighty-five. This category is one step above the last. A good portion of the plot mingles with this perk. The NPCs take much effort from the group as a whole to kill. Each level up can take more work from the group. The rewards are excellent and benefit the higher levels.

Difficulty Rank #5:

Level Cap 90-100

The fifth difficulty rank has a level cap of ninety to a hundred. This rank would be the hardest for a Game Master to accomplish; however, with dedication and determination, this is possible. The NPCs are very difficult to take down, and it is wise to add extra perks to enhance how the character plays in the game. This rank is for long-term roleplays.

HOW TO LEVEL UP?

There are many ways to have your Player Characters level up. It is ultimately up to your imagination and idea of the plot with how you make them level up in the IC. However, I can give examples of what they can do to gain a level.

Actions to Roleplay

  • Successfully negotiating with an NPC to accomplish something.
  • Furthering the plot in some way.
  • Successfully winning a battle.
  • Accomplishing a goal for their extra perk.
  • Interacting with another character in a meaningful way.

TRACKING PLAYER PROGRESS

Depending on how you like to organize your notes for your games, Tracking the Progress of player's levels can be different for everyone. If you want to track it yourself, you can make a document with a list of relevant actions for when a player does something to level up. You can use BBcode on Iwaku to create character profiles to follow the player's progress throughout the game. If you are doing a simple system, you could ask your players to maintain their level tally while you divvy up the rewards when needed. Overall, keeping track of the levels shouldn't become a burden.

SYSTEM REWARDS

I would say the best part of this system is the rewards given for leveling up. The possibilities are endless and entirely depend on the plot you have to be relevant in your game. Higher-level caps will require better rewards when leveling up. Here is a list of ideas for rewards:

Ideas for Rewards

  • Special Items for the Character
  • New Abilities
  • Currency
  • Skill Points
  • Ranks

IMPORTANT QUESTIONS:

Here are some important questions for you to think about:

Difficulty Rank Questions

  • How much effort do I want to put into this roleplay?
  • Does this plot require a higher level system?

Leveling Up Questions

  • What will it take for characters to level up?
  • How hard do I want it to be to level up?
  • How can I work my plot into the leveling up requirements?
  • How should I keep track of the levels?

Reward Questions

  • Should I have extra perks to add as rewards?
  • What rewards make sense with the plot?
  • How should I give out the rewards in the IC?

Questions For You

  • What do you think of the Leveling Systems Perk?
  • What Difficulty Rank would you try the most?
  • Do you have a plot that benefits from this system?
  • What would be your favorite reward to receive if you were the character?

Thanks for reading!

Bloros Capital - Bloody Hearts Forge

Bloody Hearts Forge

The army of the Bloody Hearts Court requires perfect weapons in their training, and thus a giant forge was made for such a purpose. The forge is closest to the Barracks and sits on the far side of the lake. This imposing structure stands as the tallest monument in the capital and is respected by all who come. Only the finest blacksmiths serve in the forge, and they are one of the highest-paid jobs next to being a soldier. There are materials in the volcanic mountains around the Bloros Region; this onyx rock made up the brick of the forge. Inside there are several rooms for smithing and smelting ore. It is usually blistering inside the building as the furnaces are constantly going.

The Forge even has an armory that holds ready weapons for the soldiers to collect. Most days, there is a mess of swords, axes, and all the armor you could dream up. The Bloody Hearts Court doesn't audit these rooms often; it is up to those in the Barracks, and well, they care less for organization and more about battling. Most of the failed smithing attempts are kept under wraps as an official failure is a mandatory execution. The Court only wants the best smiths, and if you fail, you aren't the best. It isn't unusual for others to seek out the Forge for an expensive weapon, although getting out of Bloros with your weapon safely is another matter entirely. Overall the Forge stands tall, creating items for soldiers who are eager for war.

Bloros Capital - Bloody Hearts Barracks

Bloody Hearts Barracks

The Bloody Hearts Court has a vested interest in having an army ready for anything at any time; with this interest, they required a mini fortress to become the Barracks for all the soldiers in their battalion. This impressive compound trains the brutal soldiers of the Court in the ways of battle and war. This determination for warriors to fight for an undetermined conflict is what makes the Court visit the Barracks often, scrutinizing every move and thrust of their training. They want only the fiercest and brutalist to serve them, as they pay them extraordinarily well. The Court would prefer loyal well-off soldiers that seek to stay with them instead of malnourished troops that would turn on you at the drop of a hat. The Barracks consists of three buildings and an obstacle field beyond it. The first building is a training arena where the soldiers work on their form and technique. It is an open-air structure that tests the mettle of the battalion in any weather. The Bloody Hearts Court throws contests here that determine the ranking of the soldiers in the army.

The second building of the Barracks is the housing area; it is a giant structure that takes up the most space. The Bloody Hearts Court spends the most coin on the furnishings in here. They revere their soldiers to the utmost degree, and thus they live in luxury close to the Court itself; there are several common areas and many living quarters for each soldier. The third building is the mess hall. This place is where the troops get their daily meals and the schedule for the day. The cooks are perhaps not the best in Wonderealm, but they make hearty meals to fill up the army. Beyond the buildings of the Barracks, there is the rigorous obstacle course. This field is full of training obstacles for the soldiers to run through at certain times. When the Bloody Hearts Court comes to visit, they may hold special events in the obstacle course to reward winners. Overall the Barracks showcase the strength and prowess of the Court's army.
