Eythix Industries

download.php

Eythix Industries was founded by Dr. Jennifer Faust, a brilliant scientist with a heart of gold. She created her laboratories for the sole purpose of helping others, surrounding herself with a team of brilliant minds. Eythix has no specialty in science, but rather dabbles in all aspects. When the epidemic first hit, Eythix was just opening it's doors and there was a dramatic dip in it's employees. To protect herself and her colleagues, Faust sealed them off from the outside world and together they got to work on trying to find a cure. However, they were unable to find even a clue, but the disease faded. Ever since the outbreak of the Dread, they have been working harder than ever, though their team has been reduced to horribly low numbers. Dr. Faust chose five/six people for the job, as well as twelve physicians. Dr. Faust built her labs under the water because she believed it would provide creativity to her workers - but when the epidemic hit, it did more than that, it provided protection and privacy. Dr. Faust has a knack for finding the most brilliant and eccentric minds. Most of her employees are young, but extremely intelligent - many of her peers used to question her on her hiring choices, though she stuck with it. They do not have that much man-power for they're security, though they have a vast set of technological fail-safes set in place as well as a couple of trusty guards. Eythix is built in the water, however, so security isn't that much of a problem.
Eythix Layout

Eythix Industries has a circular structure, with three major wings. Originally, they were all labs, but due to a fire and the new stresses on civilization, that's had to change. The first wing, closest to the entrance, is what has stayed the labs, with modifications. This wing has three levels, each with their own purpose. The first holds the welcome desk basically. It's set up with a front desk that's hardly ever used any more, with a couple of monitors that can view certain security cameras. The second, holds physical tests, such as treadmills, and exercise equipment - so that vitals can be measure. Lastly, the third holds a complex obstacle course, built specifically so it could adjust to the powers of the person being tested. It also holds a small training room - basically a shooting range for abilities. The second wing, contains the most levels; twenty to be exact. Seven levels extend above ground/water level and thirteen below. These are the living quarters for all who currently live at Eythix. Each level contains six decent-sized living quarters, pairs of them sharing a bathroom. They circle around the edge and in the center is a lounge containing a couple of couches and a TV. The first level above ground in the second wing is a full entertainment and lounge center, featuring couches and chairs, two televisions, a pool table and a small kitchen for snacks. The second level is reserved for the team of scientists working overall for a cure. The third and fourth levels above ground, are reserved for the personal physicians of the Immune. The fifth and sixth are reserved for the twelve Immune who have agreed to testing. The seventh, is a floor especially made as a living space for Dr. Faust. She had lived at Eythix even before the plagues had occurred, and before the second wing had been converted to living spaces. The lower thirteen levels are left to the Immune who have not agree to testing, were too late to volunteer, or were not physically/ mentally capable for such things. Dr. Faust, however, is working to create a better safe haven for them, off-site. It's both for the personal reason of not having them under foot, and to better keep them safe, for the target Eythix has become. Those thirteen levels, do have two other entertainment centers. The third wing's upper levels were completely destroyed by a fire, quite recently. One of the scientists caught the Dread, the type of which that sent him into a rampage. He tried to burn the place to the ground. It contains seven levels, two of which were the subjects of the fire. The first level holds the infirmary and anything else that would require medical attention. The second holds the chemical labs, where testing for a cure is being made. The third holds the genetic testing, where the DNA of the Immune is observed and investigated. The fourth level holds the security center, computers that can observe the cameras all over the place. The fifth is the information center for all of the labs, and it holds a whole mess of computers. Lastly, the aquatics center is attached to the first above-ground floor of the second wing. The walkway is a tube basically, made of strong see-through glass so the lake can be viewed. The aquatics center is circular shaped, like the rest of the architecture at Eythix. The walls are lined with fish tanks, since originally it had been meant to test such fish. When the first plague broke out, Faust thought her company needed a bright light in such a dark time, as well as a way to exercise, so she had a pool made.
Nox Laboratories

Dr. Andrew Burks founded Nox Laboratories with the same purpose as Dr. Faust did with Eythix Industries. However, his views for his company changed after his unexpected death, and Nox was taken over by Dr. Jonathon Verde. Dr. Verde quickly changed the labs for the worse, and worked closely with the government, being their lackie. Any employees of his that opposed him, were immediately replaced for ones that wouldn't take back. Some got jobs at Eythix Industries instead. Once the Dread started, and the 'Savior' contacted them, they have gotten particularly worse. The things that go on behind closed doors are... horrible. And an Immune that goes in... well, let's just say that they don't come back out. The layout is unknown by many and not much is known about it's history either.
