- It's Harry Potter's 3rd year at Hogwarts and Harry Potter and Hermione Granger are just about to use the time turner, when suddenly something happens to the time frame. They fall out of place and are in the current present time of 2012. No one knows what happened and all of the Harry Potter characters past, present, and future are stuck in the time 2012.
