Run Wild

Experiments. They happen all the time but no one breathes a word about them till their successful. The latest experiment is far crueler than the last. A company known as Bio-Tech Corporation has been working on a secret genetic project in the middle of the Canadian forest. Most people don't know what it is, simply that it is called the Dome project, named after the large white dome and other facilities that has been built in the middle of nowhere. Everyone assumes it's for the bettering of society.

The tenants in the dome tell a less enjoyable story.

Each creatures inside the facility were born there. Each child had been mutated, mutilated, and experimented on until they were perfected. Some people call them Shape shifters. Others call them pests. How each person became the way they are is unknown. All they do know is they've been trapped in a box, poked, prodded, as well as being taught how to speak and behave.

Each shifter takes on a few traits of their combined animal. The most basic example is hair color that resembles the natural color of the animal. Some get markings like their animal, others get body parts. It all depends on how the body reacted to the serum.
What is known is that now these hybrids are being set free, in an idealistic world. The dome is largely forests, the outer skin of said dome reflecting back a fake sky that appears as real as it could ever be. Inside the forest there is a grassy hill where all the selected participants have been let out. On top of that hill is a cabin, cozy and wooden. It's nothing special, but contains more luxuries than they are used to. Clothes, beds, the ability to make their own food. There is a small lake in the heart of the forest.

Mackenzie is jumpy cheerful, more so than her other compatriates of the dome. She is younger than the bunch have not seen the worst of the dome yet. Mackenzie a bit nieve and very social. Like a squirrel she is also very higher, you wouldn't ever see her staying still or doing that required her to focus.

Mackenzie is a newer specimen in the dome, having recently been done the teaching. She lacked any super scaring moments since she was not the first Squirtle (the reason why she was so successful). As a side experiment, the Bio-tech wanted to find out if they can make the Shifters have accents if isolated to an accent while they were teaching as well as being taught Spanish first then English. It worked and Mackenzie can speak Spanish and English and she also has a cute little Spanish accent.

Careful and cautious, he prefers to keep a figurative or literal distance between himself and everyone. He takes time to warm up to anyone due to his cautious nature. He sleeps outside of the main home but nearby so he can be alerted when something goes awry, but be in a safe location nonetheless. Group orientation wise, he is more akin to a scout or a vice leader, wise enough to advise on important decisions and locations, but not strong enough to maintain the hardest brunts of battle and not willing enough to lead a whole group on his own ideals and strengths.
Bio-
Like the other subjects, he was born into the facility and experimented on from a young age. He received the least physical scarring of all the experiments due to being an easy integration, however due to what he was integrated with was generally not picked on as much for tests due to being physically weaker. His tests focused mostly on mental torture and stimulation, solitary confinement, and being tied up then left around for days save for the meals fed to him. He has seen a good deal of the bad parts of the place, and is frightened that they might enact anything worse, as such he is more likely to flee from combat than fight. He wishes to escape more out of fear than anything else.

One of Lucas' most striking features is his hair. They're of a pure white. It isn't a personal preference of his, but rather, a side effect of the avian DNA that was injected upon him. His hair colour was originally black, quite the polar opposite from what they are now. Apart from that, his locks also appear to be very soft and feather-like. His eyes are of a blue-grey colour. Scientists find it curious how his eyes didn't morph into a darker shade like the gyrfalcon has. It was one of the things about him that didn't change. While Lucas' skin had always been on the lighter side, it had gone even paler after the experimentation. His skin seemed flawless as they were. His nails have morphed into sharp talons, much like those that birds of prey posses. Just like the avian DNA that was used in him, Lucas has a pair of wings protruding from the shoulder blades on his back. His wings are predominantly ivory white in colour with greyish markings on top while underneath is pure white, much like how a gyrfalcon's wings appear like. They have a wingspan of approximately 13 ft, which is quite impressive considering that he's rather small standing at a measly 5'4". His height was the other thing that wasn't affected by the gyrfalcon DNA. He's overheard the scientists say that they expected him to grow taller considering that gyrfalcons were rather large, but apparently the Asian genes that were in him were quite formidable.

PERSONALITY.

Silent & Seclusive
Watching people without getting involved was enough for him. He believes that it is easier to just keep quiet. The less one talked, the less chances one had to make a mistake with their words. Human language was fickle after all. One person could say something and mean it to be one thing, the other person could hear it and interpret it to be another. It definitely showed that he was no social butterfly, but he didn't care.

At some point in his life, he has concluded that dealing with others was more trouble that it was worth. He learned to adopt the idea that less people in his life equated to less drama. As he grew older, he learned the concept of the word 'bullshit' and added it into his little equation. Now, less people equated to less drama and less bullshit he had to deal with.

Disciplined & Observant
Lucas has a firm set of morals that he abides by. He is civil to those who are civil to him. Likewise, if someone treats him poorly, he will likely treat them poorly as well. It sounds petty of him, but in his opinion it isn't. Lucas doesn't see any reason why people who treat others like crap be treated kindly. Although he isn't a religious person, the golden rule 'do unto others as you want done to you' is the basis for his philosophy.

There isn't much that escapes Lucas' eye. It also helps that his eyes are genetically sharper than that of a regular human's due to the gyrfalcon DNA he's been imbued with. From afar, he would watch others and learn little things about them such as mannerisms and whatnot. Lucas sees patterns in how people acted and even conversed. If the pattern was broken, he would most likely notice it.

Independent & Stubborn
Believing that there is no one else he could rely on other than himself, Lucas has learned to become independent. He hardly seeks for anyone's help and will always try to do things on his own. Part of him simply doesn't want to feel in debt to others for helping him out. The other part of him believes that there is no one who would willingly help him out. It always comes as a surprise to him when someone does offer to help him out with something.

Although there are those that would willingly help him, Lucas is a stubborn and would oftentimes refuse their help. He will keep on refusing help from others until he finally realises that he cannot do something by himself. However, by the time he realises that, it is usually too late. Either what he is trying to do is no longer something of importance, or the person offering to help had gotten fed off of him and gave up trying to help, usually it's the latter and usually the person trying to help gets pissed off.

BIOGRAPHY.

Born in the lab as one of the dozens of experimental hybrids, there wasn't much that Lucas could say about his life thus far. The only thing that he knew about his heritage was that he was apparently of Asian descent--or at least, partially Asian. It was one of the things he's overheard the scientist who're assigned to him mutter while pondering over results of the tests they conducted. Not knowing anything but the confines of the facility, he never questioned the things they did to him. He was merely a test subject, but he didn't learn what that truly meant until later on in his life when he was older.

Lucas is the fifth successful bird of prey hybrid and the second under the genus falco. Although Lucas had now learned to accept the life he was now living, part of him still wanted out of it. However, he knew that it was too late for any of them to leave. While they looked and possessed human forms, none of them were fully human. He doubted that society would ever accept them as they are. Lucas wishes that he's wrong about this and hopes that one day they would get to escape the ties they have with Bio-Tech and be able to experience life amongst other human beings.

Sirus has some leopard spotting along his back and legs, as well as a long, fluffy tail and some ears. His actions are all very feline in nature, and is capable of the many noises of leopards, such as purring and chuffing. His skin and hair are both snow white. He seems to carry much more bestial traits than some others.

He often pretends to be an incredibly stoic and cold-hearted person, but he does have a soft spot. Like most cats, he will not hesitate to pounce on something that triggers his hunting instinct, and has been known to play with objects to his embarrassment. He doesn't like others seeing him as a warm person, so tends to keep anyone else at arm's length. He isn't fond of socializing, and will only do so with some encouragement.

Sirus is incredibly strong-willed and will not take no for an answer. He isn't one to step back from a challenge, unless it is very clear he is going to fail. He will protect what's his, both property and people, with such savagery found only in true animals.

Sirus was born to the facility like most others, and was considered a major success. He was one of many snow leopard children, but he was the most successful. His traits were the most bestial of all thus far, but he was human enough that it was easy to contain him and keep him under control, especially when sedation and drugs were introduced. He spent most of his life being the favored child of his experiment, and they gave him the illusion of a much more privileged life, when in reality it just gave them an excuse to test him more than usual. He never had friends, due to both being secluded from others and being very disliked by the other children in his strain of subjects. If anyone ever tried to befriend him, he always pushed them away. The only people he trusted were the scientists who pretended to care for him When he was put into the dome, his first instinct was to find someone he could trust. In his search, he found a fox girl, Kara. They have been inseparable ever since. He feels incredibly cheated about his "caretakers" brushing him off to the side, and his main goal for escape is revenge.

Kara, despite her happy-go-lucky nature, has seen some very hard times. Considered a failure in the eyes of the facility, she was treated horribly because of how much she was lacking in terms of animalistic behavior. She was extremely rebellious at first, but she soon learned that not being openly rebellious would spare her some punishment. She believes the only real reason she was kept alive is because she was the only one of the Vulpes vulpes subjects to be able to fully shift into a fox. She did make some friends in her fellow subjects, but it was short lived, as she was thrown into the dome with people she didn't know. Determined to make friends with someone immediately, she found companionship in Sirus. The two now stick together and watch each other's backs.

Lux retains the large ears and bushy tail of an arctic fox. Her skin color lacks enough pigment where it looks nearly as white as her hair. Tufts of hair run along her spine and wrap around her waist and stomach, resembling stripes. She can withstand temperatures nearly -48°F before she begins to freeze without the proper clothing. The arctic foxes natural camouflage was passed onto her, so her hair color depends on the temperature. If it the temperature is on the colder end on the spectrum, it remains white but as soon as the temperature starts warming up, brown stripes appear in her hair.

Inquisitive by nature, Lux is lead by her curiosity; she is constantly full of questions and itching to go exploring. But that is not to say she does not express a healthy amount of caution, as least enough to barely keep her from trouble. She can be "read like an open book" as some would say; her face, ears, and tail display her full range of emotion. She holds the world with an optimistic point of view, a glass half-full situation. Nothing is as bad as it seems and there is always a silvering lining. Perhaps her views are a little misguided and the world is crueler than she gives it credit for but she believes beauty can be found everywhere, if only one knows where to look for it.

Bio
Lux has had her share of bad moments, though none nearly as terrible as some have more than likely gone through. But regardless, she prefers to leave the past in the past and not dwell on what happened to her. Nor does she let what happened to her affect how she interacts with others. In the beginning, it was thought her curiosity could be tamped down. So, like a child, she was given room to explore with limitations of course and if she happened to hurt herself then it would serve as a learning experience so to not do it again. She has hurt herself quite badly in the past, including a broken limb or two and while she has learned to think before leaping feet first, it has not fully curbed her desire for knowledge of her surroundings. Of the rooms in the cabin, Lux chose the smallest that has a nice view of the forest around them. Cooking was also another delight that she has enjoyed exploring. While not all of her cooking endeavors have ended smoothly, she has yet to burn the house down and her cooking has improved with practice. She wishes to escape, not out of fear, but because she wants to see the rest of the world, wants to enjoy the world outside the space she was born into.

Small antlers protrude from his mop of hair. They are blunt at the tips from the excess filing the scientist did to keep them from being able to be used as weapons. Along with the antlers, a pair of ears sit on either side of them. Normally they are perked up but when he becomes sad or angered, they flatten against his skull. His brown hair has spots around his left antler as well as on the fur around his hips. A fluffy little tail rests above his tail bone and is linked to his emotion. Much like a canine, it will wag when he is excited or happy, and tuck downwards when he is frightened. Both of his legs are covered with soft fur which carry all the way down to his hooves. His legs are powerful and a kick from them will leave a bruise, if not a few broken bones. Despite the structure of his leg, he is quite graceful and agile. He is good at climbing, using his strong legs to propel him through the air.

Personality-

Upbeat and cheerful, Everest is a sweetheart through and through. He strives to always be there for his friends and he tries to include everyone in the conversation. With a preference for pacifism, Everest tries to be the mediator when the group starts to conflict with each other. His soothing voice and calm demeanor give an over-all effect of tranquility that he unitizes as much as he is able. He has a deep-seated fear of the "predator"-types in the group but he is constantly striving to over-come this. When he is very excited, he has a tendency to bounce around, tail wagging all the while. Another trait he received from his animal DNA is the instinctual response to freeze up at any sign of danger. A "deer in headlights" response. He is able to snap out of it fairly quickly, but it still takes away precious seconds, seconds he could have been using to escape.


Bio-

Everest's deep-seated fear of predators stems from the experiments he was forced to go through. The scientists would place another experiment with predator DNA, almost always an experiment already driven mad and relying on base instincts, in a large room with Everest. Everest would then have to evade said predator until the time was up. He was never able to escape unscathed but the predator was always halted right before they could out-right kill Everest. The tests were to see if genetically engineered prey could withstand against genetically engineered predators. These tests scared Everest and so when he was placed in a dome with passive predators, he could not help but tense up around them, as if prepared to run at a moment's notice.

Everything...but to be more specific her skin is soft and always seems to be damp. Her lower half consist of eight tentacles and two large eyes behind her. Her hair has the same texture as her tentacles, except that there are no suckers. Her teeth are sharp and made for breaking things like shells. Like her kin she is able to camouflage.

Personality
Calypso is a curious young girl to say the least. She loves learning about knew things and collecting interesting objects. Shiny things in particular always catch her interest. When it comes to fight or flight, she is definitely a flight type of girl. If she knows that she can't win a fight she will run. Calypso is very affectionate towards others. It wouldn't be surprising if she decides to wraps herself around someone. She seems to have no idea what personal space is or rather she doesn't seem to care, it's hard to tell with her. Calypso is stubborn and has a hard time with dealing with change, especially when she doesn't know what the outcome will be. She a sensitive little hybrid, though she usually tries to hide it with a nonchalant attitude. Her facade is less than successful because she wears her emotions on her sleeve.

Calypso seems to have no recollection of her past. So far she seems be the most mutated of the experiments. Her time in the facility was spent in a large tank that she considered her home. Sometimes she was taken out in order to get check ups and examinations. Her body kept its lungs so breathing air was not a problem. In the beginning Calypso fought at hard as she could. She would try and hide in her tank or stick herself to the surface. Eventually she gave up and accepted that she would never get the chance to escape. As time went on Calypso developed a sense of loneliness. She began to look forward to the visits that the scientist would give her. Some of the more humane would even interact with her on a good day. She has slowly began to get used to her new environment. Despite being able to go on land she prefers to stay in the lake.

Subject PO-001994 is one of the older experiments that has successfully passed the "Positive Re-enforcement Operations Protocols" Program or the PROPs as is commonly known. Subject PO-001994 excels as a well-adjusted field soldier as well as top grade scout/ranger. Espionage training to attain 'field surveilance' level operative is, however, quite doubtful as Subject PO-001994 is much too self-centred and personal agenda oriented. As a side note: Subject PO-001994 constantly fails at the "Flattery Tests." Subject PO-001994 adores praises and complements of all kinds.

Subject PO-001994 as a physical specimen almost passed the grade as "Human-like." But latent tail growth coupled with eye colour change from blue-grey eyes to natural panther yellow during times of high emotions, leaves her to be grouped with the other Domebound subjects. That and the unfortunate incident that caused the raging fire that killed a total of 13 personnel, earning Subject PO-001994 the (dis)honour of being scorned as "Lucky."

As a personal aside, I feel that is quite a shame as Subject PO-001994 has close ties and loyalties to the members of the retained weaponized Crew. The Crew affectionately nicknamed Subject PO-001994 as "Jinx" and would rub the belly of Subject PO-001994 for luck before engaging upon field training missions. The Crew had the Panther-hybrid's loyalty for life. That loyalty, however, should transfer just fine. Those others like her, the "Big-Cat" subjects, I have no doubt Subject PO-001994 will try to get close to, especially with her imposed social dependency, and, so with that in mind, I eagerly await their interactions. I expect with 92.7% certainty that Subject PO-001994 will teach other brethren to become soldiers as well.

I also expect, like the good soldier "Jet" is, it will provide constant updates with journal records and field-reports.

Bio
From the very beginning Honey was a fierce little thing. It came as no surprise to the scientist . He had been given the DNA of the ferocious Honey Badger. A creature known for going up against bigger animals like lions and hunting venomous snakes. Honey was restrained whenever he was taken for check up. A muzzle would be placed over his mouth to avoid those sharp little teeth of his. Over time his attitude didn't change. They didn't break his spirit and his hate for the scientist and the facility stayed.

When they tried to gauge his reaction around other experiments Honey showed less aggression. He would watch them cauciously but never make a move to fight unless they started it. It changed when they were put into his space. He began agitated and as time went on and they weren't removed, he became aggressive. Eventually he became use to the other experiments.

Personality - Gilly generally maintains an even temperament and likes to take life slow. She savors positives moments and spends time pondering negative ones. She can be pretty easy going and a reliable person to talk to when needed. She isn't particularly nurturing, as she prefers to dispense advice and encourage action rather than coddle and comfort. Her nonchalant attitude can often come off as uncaring or unfeeling and if this is brought to her attention, she will try her best to rectify the situation. When rubbed the wrong way, Gilly will lash out and use her height and horns to her advantage. In combat, Gilly will fight until either she or her opponent decides to back off. She does not like pointless violence and she doesn't like to draw blood but she will if she has to.
Bio -
As an infant she was of average size, as most infants are. She was fussy and often kept crying even when she got what she wanted. After the experiments however, Gilly became more mellow and tended to observe rather than complain. The DNA of the giraffe given to her, caused her body to elongate as she grew but the unnatural stretch of her bones wasn't aligned with her muscles and therefore caused her much pain. It got to the point where Gilly preferred to huddle in a corner and refused to move about in the way that the scientists wanted her to. Unwilling to end her existence and erase their progress, Gilly was given the DNA of a goldfish in order to overide the part of her brain that registered pain. With this new DNA, Gilly was able to move about comfortably and over the years, the scientist surgically adapted her muscle tissue to keep up with her bone growth.

Bio- She is the result of the ever curious nature of scientific minds. The 'good' doctors wanted to create an individual that would be tolerant to toxic exposure in the hopes of future use. Imagine the perfect assassin? If they created a wall-scaling, poison-producing entity that came in a small-package, then the government would fund the program for decades to come! The result was little Myrtle. Poked, prodded, and probed she was counted fully functional. Now they've released her into the dome to await the day she begins producing poison... whenever that will be.

Bio - Apart from Silver he is also scarred literally and figuratively. They stripe his skin from his back to his sides. Some scientists thought it was a good idea to put other hybrids in his cell. They were wrong, almost immediately he got up and shoved them out. Then they put the more volatile of subjects in and things got bloody. After each kill they sedated him and marked his shoulder. Its currently at 25, he's determined to not let it get higher. He stays in the attic and rarely comes out during the day. He usually waits for everyone to be asleep to go eat some food. He never wears a shirt unless forced by Silver. He often teases others along side Reginald. Also butts heads with Marcus and honey.
