Note that Skills are general until level 3. From level 4 onward, choose a Focus - a particular area of the Skill where your character has put in extra practice. You can have multiple Foci, and the cost is the same every time you buy a new one.

Next, choose 3 Advantages. These are reflections of your background, education, and social role.
For your Familiarity, choose 3 Social Skills and a situation in which they are specially honed - for example, Gang Connections, Ex-Police, Kaeri Diaspora.
For your Knowledge, choose 3 Mental Skills and a field of study or academic practice where they are particularly focused - for example, Manatech or Crime Scene Investigation
For your Training, choose EITHER 3 Physical Skills and a particular style of engagement (or disengagement) where they're most practiced - for example, Sniping or Brawling


Finally, apply static values like Health, Condition, etc., and calculate derived stats like the combat block according to the below list. We'll have to talk about gear and augs.

Camille was supposed to have a last name. The circumstances of her birth denied her that much. However, the event granted the luxury of avoiding civilization. Born of a struggling mother and promptly disposed of in the deep forest, Camille's crying was heard by a survivalist. Her adoptive father was a Blackliner living near others in a makeshift village. The nearby forest, a sanctum of life, preserved to maintain environmental quotas. Farming, and the occasional hunt, this was survival for the group. Camille didn't fit in well with the boisterous crowd. Although they were all outcasts from society, she felt little kinship with them. Instead, it was the grimoires that captivated her interest. The church she slept in had an old library of stories, encyclopedias, and tomes. Within certain pages were hints at a long-buried magic, which died along with the direct rule of Magi. Camille was entranced. She couldn't understand everything, but something was there – an entity obscured by modernity, something that responded to magic, and could bestow incalculable power. The tools the village shared weren't the most advanced, as nobody had money for updated tech. Seeing potential in magitech, she used the library and various residents to learn and expand her functional knowledge. It came slowly, but through asking the right questions and trying the right things, Camille was able to improve the village's productivity, finding improved means of hunting, fishing, harvesting, and more.

Eventually, she decided to try and integrate into society despite the village naysayers, believing she could learn more about magic and her heritage, only to run into a society that hadn't a single one of her interests at heart. The Imerian Federation laughed through many mouths and shut their doors. She was mocked and pushed along the fringe of society, desperate to find somewhere she could fit in. Luckily, Camille stumbled into Underground Manatech, a shady collection of scientists and magical engineers who ran their business in the shadows, a black market of tools, weapons, and augmentations available to the right kind of character. Seeing Camille in her sorry state, a few members took her in to teach her the essentials, hoping for a cheap asset in resisting the state. She performed well and brought in a few tricks she learned from her upbringing. She was never a sociable character, but her ingenuity in planning and reconnaissance became known, and Camille was recommended by an associate to try her luck at Lightning Security Solutions.

She applied, hoping to finally crack open the secrets of the grimoires and reveal the possibility for a new world.
