[?] Roleplay Genres [?]

I intend on illustrating all of the main genres, and maybe some of the minor ones. However, that leaves some questions in my mind. Since I'm most comfortable with fantasy, I can supply much of the ideas on how to illustrate such. Sci-fi and modern are a different story, as well as anything else, really.

To aid me in my endeavor, perhaps you could answer my questions:

What genres are there? How many? Which do you think are most prominent, etc.

Second, what do you think of when *insert genre* comes to mind? You can describe all of them that have been listed, or you can only do one or two.

There's prolly a million different subgenres. .__.; more than I could ever come up with or even know and understand. But here are a few off the top of my head!

Modern Supernatural - paranormal stuff, ghosts, vampires, werewolves, and stuff like that.

Modern Superhero - all that super hero and villain stuff.

Crime Drama - all that cops and mobsters and investigation stuff!

Mutants - kinda like super heroes, but it's mutants! o___o

Aliens - Aliiiiiieeeens.

Apocalyptic - This is those post war/disaster things. Where modern civilization has been destroyed and there's a whole new sort of civilization.
