Here I sit trembling from the cold, and weep.
I cry out, cursing all my wrong-doings,
question all my failings that cut so deep.
Why must my best be yet my undoing?
I am broken, and weak; yet do I reach
ever for that which to make me so great.
I strive for good, try to make clear my speech,
and yet do I carry failures' dark weight.
No more! I cast this weight from my shoulders,
this mantle of failure I wear no more.
My mind will be clean, and as I sober,
no more will I look to self and abhor.
No longer shall I let wrongs blind my sight,
Ever shall I strive to do what is right.
