The Secret Circle☠

  • Twenty years ago in the town of Ravenswood, a fire shocked the small town to it's core. Men, women, and chilren all parished in the great fire of 1998. Since then Ravenswood has been a community trying to rebuild. Seven families were there at Ravenswood's original creation and the same seven families were their during it's rebuild, but not long after one family dismissed itself and traveled across America to the California coast- never to be heard from again for two decades.

During the towns rebuild, six children of the six families remaining in Ravenswood bonded together and discovered secrets never thought real before. They were witches. However, despite training day after day, their circle would never be completed until the seventh witch returned so said the book of shadows. As a dark power moved into Ravenswood it is up to the coven of witches to put a stop to it before another incident, like the great fire, happens again and this time destroys the town for good. The circle needed to be completed and they feared the day it would be would never come. That day, however, soon arrived when it was announced that the Renaldo family moved back to Ravenswood as the matriarch of their family line died and they inherited the Renaldo Manor. Now the six witches must convince their newly returned friend that magic does exist, a darkness is coming for Ravenswood and will stop at nothing until every soul is dead.

With secrets, lies, revelations, and backstabbing vultures surfacing, can the secret circle stop this evil in time? Or will they too parish as those did before them?

  • Each family only has one child that knows or possess magic. Siblings can be present, but they are regular humans.

    • The witches magic stems from Mana within themselves. When the circle is full they can draw their magic from the life forms around them and not just themselves, their magic becomes tenfold what it originally is. However, an excursion of full power may result in blackouts, coma, or even death if the body cannot handle the amount of power used in that one moment.
    • Spells are always stronger when more than one witch performs them, however, their hearts must beat as one or the spell may go wrong.
    • Potions are great, but may not do the desired effect unless done correctly. Quality of ingredients also is important, but note that the higher quality ingredient the rarer it is to find it.
    • Each family has their own magic book- small journals with personal encounters, spells, and potions. These books are sacred and typically hidden.
    • The book of shadows is an all-powerful spellbook. It belongs to the coven as a whole, no one witch can possess it or lay claim to it. It is a magical being itself and will sense danger. It the coven is not working together then the book will strip them of their powers until a reconcile is back together. Nothing can damage or destroy the book of shadows. The book can and will block mana from the witches, even their own mana from themselves. The book, however, cannot be used to block another's powers... only the book itself can. DO NOT QUESTION THE BOOK, it has a personality of its own.

  • No one knows who or what the darkness is, but Lily and the book can sense its presence. Each night one of the witches receives a new dream of the darkness. Each morning that teen wakes up to cold sweats and a sinking feeling in their stomach that they are going to die. All that is known about the darkness is that it is a shadowy figure with a familiar voice and it is coming back to Ravenswood. Its power is unlike anything the witches have ever seen before and the book only has one thing written about it among the pages: No has ever returned when they seek out the darkness.

    5. This rule concerns the storyline itself. The parents and family members of the witches do not know they have found the families book of shadows and their own personal spell books. The teens are keeping it a secret from their families!!! NO IF, ANDS, or BUTS! THEY ALL ARE KEEPING IT A SECRET! Please do not ask me if your character could be the one character that tells their families and they are cool with it. please put secret at the bottom of your sheets if you read the rules.

    7. NO GOD-MODDING!!!! Each character can be hurt and if using the full extent of their abilities will result in a painful consequence.

  • Lily lived around the time that the creation of Ravenswood came about (150 years ago), but was killed due to her debts to the seven families. She now serves as a speaker for the book of shadows and a guidance counselor for new witches. Lily portrays herself as a cartoonish ghost in order to help others feel comfortable around her.

She is nice and caring and will help with just about anything, but remember never to ask about her death or her life before she was a ghost. She will freeze up and become rather angry before storming off into the pages of the book of shadows. Only one family can see her true form and that is the Renaldo family, she opens up to them more often because they can see her for who she really is and stomach the sight of her ghostly gruesome spirit.

  • Childhood History: Benjamin was born to Sally and Morgan O'Conner. He was loved and cherished each day of his life until a freak accident killed his mother. His father swore up and down that his mother was killed by a magic-wielding freak, but never had any proof, so his father became the town crazy. By the time Benjamin was five, his father was drinking daily and losing jobs left and right. Benjamin often sold lemonade to help with his own expenses.

By the age of twelve, his father had found a new stable job working at the shipyard in Oaksberry, a neighboring town to Ravenswood. Life seemed to be looking up, but that was short lived. Benjamin fell ill and was in and out of hospitals for months until it was discovered that he had a teratoma. Once removed, Benjamin was able to get on with his life, but the medical bills had piled high.

Recent History: Years had passed and Morgan had barely made a dent in his son's medical bills. Benjamin even took a part-time job to help pay, but his father soon informed him that the bills were taken care of and that he had received a new "better" job and that it was in Ravenswood.

Benjamin wasn't excited to move. He didn't like being the new kid in school and he didn't understand what made this job so special.

As moving day neared, Benjamin began seeing new faces that his father described as colleagues and friends. Something was off about them, but Benjamin dismissed it. His gut feelings were usually wrong anyways.

School sucked! Melinda "Mindy" Renaldi sat on the bus listening to the bullshit conversations of adolescant youth. Some girl with red hair and more freckles than Mindy thought her boyfriend was cheating on her with some girl named Faith. A blonde and brunette were making out in the back of the bus. And worst of all her brother seemed to be glued to his phone the whole way to school, not hearing a single complaint Mindy made.

"Who are you even texting?" She questioned trying to see the screen but failed. Her brother still didn't hear her, so she shrugged it off. Eventually, she would learn the truth it was only a matter of time.

Popping her earbuds in, she ignored her peers for the rest of the bus ride to school. She wondered when and if her mother would ever take them car shopping. Prices in Ravenswood were far better than that of Los Angelas, and it wasn't like Mindy couldn't afford to buy a used car.

Years of building a name for herself on the platform Youtube and her own website/blog allowed for her to make income and still be present in whatever she felt like doing. It was bliss. At least the paycheck was, not so much the hateful comments and death threats from church groups that insisted she was a devil worshipper based on the way Mindy chose to dress. One person went as far as to tell Mindy that she was a witch and that he knew it from the look in her eyes, but that was ridiculous witches didn't exist.

Mindy was a firm believer in almost all things strange, but Magic wasn't real, and neither were witches. Sure the religion Wicca was out there, but it wasn't like its followers were throwing fireballs around and vanishing in the blink of an eye.

The bus ride wasn't long, and Mindy was finally able to breathe again as she stepped off the twinkie mobile into the plush white snow banks of the school. "Tomorrow I think I'll just walk to school," she mumbled as she adjusted her black backpack. Her breath was visible in the air. "Hey, get back here!" She exclaimed at her brother Wolfy. As she ran to catch up, she pulled out her phone and stopped him long enough to pose with her. "My followers love a random peak of you here and there, besides it's a big day for you. First day back in school since," Mindy froze in midsentence, " since you dropped out, but look it's still a big step."

Quickly posting the photo to Instagram and giving it the caption "We're back bitches!"

As Mindy and her brother walked through the school grounds, she overheard someone saying that the cafeteria was open and a new cook was in the kitchen. "Let's get a bite to eat, Wolfy, not like mom bought anything food wise yet for the house and I'm starving!" She complained as she pulled her brother towards the cafeteria- an all-glass two-story building.

When Mindy walked into the cafeteria, her eyes turned dark. The line was way longer than any regular line. "I've never seen a line this long since the Zodiac palette came out at Ulta in Los Angelas," she said, "we will never get food now!"

Looking around the cafeteria, Mindy stopped at a Thomas Hammer coffee stand with a short line and scones. "YES!" She yelled in excitement as she crossed the crowded cafeteria floor to snag some coffee and a blueberry scone. As soon as Mindy handed the cashier her money she began chowing down on the deliciously blueberry scone. "Some much better than waiting in the back of that b.s line," she growled as she glared at the line and how it hadn't moved since she got here. Now all that was left was to find a place to sit and the world's most crowded cafeteria.

Looking around, Mindy noticed that not many people were on the second floor only a group of teachers and a group of friends who looked like they were hiding away from the rest of the world. "Perfect," she purred as she ran up the steps. Mindy was never really one to like the chatter or gossip of high school so staying away from its breeding ground was ideal to her.

"It's like nobody likes it up here," she murmured as she eyed the teachers. Turning around and walking backward, Mindy looked her brother over. Something was off about him, but she couldn't tell what. "Are y-" Mindy began to say before colliding with someone behind her. She Mindy let out a small scream as she fell and hit the floor sending her coffee flying over the railing. "Ouch," she said as she stood up. "Sorry 'bout that, I need to stop being so clumsy." Noticing just who she bumped into she squealed and pulled the girl into an embrace. The two girls excitedly jumped at the sight of each other, but Mindy soon realized a whole table was staring at them. "Um, hi!" she said not recognizing any of them. It had been far too long.

Benjamin woke up with a jolt. His alarm was blaring throughout his entire bedroom; he was certain the townhouse next door could hear it. He sighed and smashed the button down, silencing the clock. Rubbing his eyes he looked around to the new room he would call his for the remainder of the school year, and yet it just wasn't right to him. His father loved their old home and Benjamin didn't understand how or why this new job seemed so much better than the family bookstore. Still, his father uprooted the family and moved here to Ravenswood with the help of some suspicious friends.

Getting up and moving over towards the bathroom door he heard voices coming from the living room downstairs. Hmm, he thought to himself as he decided to sneak out towards the stairs. Quietly kneeling by the staircase, he listened in to his father's and a female's conversation. It didn't take long for Benjamin to realize she was apart of his new job as they spoke about seven clients, but Benjamin found it strange how every time they said the word client it sounded full of hate. His father didn't hate anyone; in fact, he was way to chipper towards others usually. What changed?

It felt wrong listening in on the conversation any longer, and Benjamin decided to return to his bedroom to get ready for the remainder of the day.

High school wasn't Benjamin's ideal place to be, but it sure was better than being at home with his father's friends any longer than necessary. As his boots stomped across the snow-covered school grounds, he saw a sign that read cafeteria. It was like magic because as soon as he saw the sign, his stomach began to growl. "Should've just eaten at home."

The line wasn't too bad when he entered the cafeteria, but soon it grew to an enormous length as buses dropped students off from both Ravenswood and some neighboring towns that didn't have a high school. "Looks like ya made it just in time," the lunch lady spoke as she gave him a breakfast burrito to go. Benjamin smiled and thanked the woman as he paid and left towards the second floor. A group of teachers sat speaking about the results of last semester's exams, and a group of what looked like strange friends sat speaking quietly. Was this place just full of suspicious people? Deciding not to listen he plugged in his headphones and listened to whatever Pandora wanted him to while eating his breakfast burrito.

After a few minutes, another pair appeared on the second floor of the lunchroom. Benjamin thought nothing of it until one of the two collided into another girl, and coffee went flying over the railing and landing on some poor unexpecting girl in white downstairs. First days sucked!

As morning light crept in through the window, Jazmina felt a soft weight place itself on her chest. It couldn't have been any other than Puffle. Jazmina had loved the powerful tiny creature since the moment she had gotten to the carnival. Puffle was cute, kind, and rather amazing in Jazmina's eyes. "Morning, Puffle. Breakfast time already?" She asked him as he lept off of her chest and looked towards the shelf of her caravan. "Meat, spirit balls, or both today?" She questioned as she crossed the small room.

"Both," Puffle spoke telepathically to her. She nodded and did as he asked. Mixing spirit balls Grimm had given her and raw meat, she served Puffle his breakfast in a small bowl.

Jazmina walked towards the back of the caravan that housed her bathroom, looking to Puffle she smiled as she saw him chow down on his breakfast. "I'm gonna get ready," she mentioned before closing the bathroom door and showering herself clean. Her dreams had brought memories of the night she died. Jazmina tried hard to push the stressful thoughts to the back of her mind, but couldn't. She found her hair going white and her skin becoming see through. Tears rolled down her cheeks as she tried to piece together each thing that happened, but it just wasn't working. She wanted to know what happened to her, but all she could remember was an ax coming down on her before the world went dark. "Stop," her voice sounded loud as her body turned solid again. She was not going to let her dreams and missing memories ruin the first night of the carnival back in the states.

"Wszystko w porządku, Wszystko w porządku," she chanted in polish. All she could do was remind herself that she was fine. The carnival was her life now, and she appreciated the second chance at life Grimm had given her. Despite part of her wanting to escape and seek revenge, normal life away from performing, and a world of possibilities Jazmina always knew her place was here. She agreed to work here both in life and death for the chance to live again. If there was one thing that Jazmina had going for her, it was her loyalty and ability to keep her word.

Dressing in her favorite costume, Jazmina soon heard a knock at the door. "Coming," she hollered out. Opening the door, she saw Elijah before her with a flower in his hand. "You shouldn't have," she blushed and took the flower. Their relationship was rather complicated. Jazmina knew he was trying his best to allow himself to love again and she appreciated his effort. She really did like him and remembered the first day she met him. It was late October and rain was pouring down, the carnival ground was flooded and people rushed to get things packed away. Jazmina was having trouble getting her trunk inside of her caravan. Puffle just watched her and mentioned asking someone for help. She didn't want to, but two brothers she recognized as the daredevil act was walking by. She asked timidly and Elijah agreed. She remembered baking him food for weeks to thank him, she even infused it with blood beads so he was actually eating something useful to him.

Placing the flower in a small vase of water, she turned and smiled. "I was just about to leave to go great the customers, wanna join me?" she asked him. She knew he didn't favor this whole carnival lifestyle, but she wanted to at least make it suck less for him.

Once the coffee was flung over the railing, the world seemed to come tumbling down around Ben. Jocks were fighting, balls were being kicked, students were dashing for front row seats, and Ben was staring at his newly demolished burrito. "Well thanks, guys," he muttered at the two boys who ruined his meal. If only they had moved their bodies far away from Ben and his burrito, but no that was not reality. The reality was, a boy named Arden had accidentally been pushed into Ben's table, which sent Ben's breakfast burrito crashing into the wooden tables. Ben wanted to say something but knew it wouldn't matter much. People had bigger fish to fry than a hungry teenage boy who was newly burrito-less. So setting his frustration aside, Ben threw the burrito away and returned to his table to listen to Congratulations by Post Malone. As he sat there in silence, a faint voice broke through the music. "Ben?" it questioned. It sounded familiar, but at the same time was Ben just hearing things? Taking out one earbud, he heard footsteps approaching him. The voice was real.

"Noah!" Ben exclaimed eagerly. It had been far too long since the two penpals had exchange letters let alone saw each other in person. Ben wondered what Noah had been up to recently, especially since the letters just stopped one day. As Noah neared him with his arms wide open, Ben thought about asking but decided that it wasn't the right time. Accepting Noah's embrace, Ben couldn't believe that he had found Noah so easily. Sure, Ben knew that Noah went to this school and that eventually, they would bump into each other, but Ben planned on it being harder to find the curly haired boy. It was quite exciting. "Guess who moved to Ravenswood," Ben said.

Admiring the flowers once more, Jazmina then exited the trailer. Taking Elijah's hand, she walked down the tiny Caravan steps and was immediately met with the most annoying conversation she had in the past week. "Very funny, Morticia," she grinned sarcastically. Morticia meant well, but sometimes the conversations she sparked up didn't sit well with people. Placing her hand on Elijah's shoulder and then sliding that hand into his, she smiled. "But, yes, Grimm knows very well about it and is okay with it," Jazmina added.

As Jazmina spoke, Klaus showed up. He was mean for the most part, but Jazmina felt that his rudeness wasn't all that was there. Klaus had levels to his personality and Jazmina knew he acted one way towards others and another way towards his brother and anyone else he deemed family or close.

Looking at Morticia and the bones she held, Jazmina chuckled. "Had a good harvest I see." Morticia was the resident witch around these parts and Jazmina had a slight bit of respect for her. She was talented and her methods may have been a bit dark, but her magic worked well. Guests loved her and Jazmina could see why. "Can't wait to see your act tonight," Jazmina mentioned before tugging on Elijah's hand. It was time for them to go.

As Elijah and Jazmina walked through the carnival grounds meeting customers, quite a few of them recognized her from the Trapeze act posters. It was one of the more popular acts of the night, but in Jazmina's mind, every aspect of the show was amazing. She admired her fellow performers, not everyone could do what they did. "Thanks," she said to a woman who had given her an artistic vase of her act. Looking to Elijah, she nudged him. "Are you okay?"

'Oh, fuck' Melinda thought to herself as she realized what she had done. She prayed her mother would not be hearing of this, that was the last thing she wanted. Wiping her eyes, Melinda frowned. Her makeup was ruined, her hair looked like crap, and she wanted to kick Jeff in the face for hitting her but she had already kicked his balls. She smiled at him apologetically. 'Hopefully, people here don't press charges,' she thought once more before feeling a hand enter her hairline. Looking up, she noticed that Arden was checking her wound out. She blushed. "T-thanks," she stammered.

Trying to fix her hair by pulling at the strains, Melinda swallowed. She chuckled nervously. "Yeah, we just got back yesterday... there's still a ton of boxes to unpack," she spoke as she overshared. She didn't understand why she had mentioned the number of boxes still waiting to be unloaded by her family. Melinda was about to say something more but was immediately met with Carrie cheering her on. She smiled. "Hey there, Carrie," she shouted. Of course, she wouldn't have forgotten Carrie. She was like the brainiac of the ground when they were children. Melinda often spent time with her during math class, Melinda was never keen on mathematics.

Melinda started moving away towards Izzy when she heard a teacher ask who started the fight. Arden was looking for some backup. She sighed. Melinda wasn't sure who started the fight, but she was certain the boy she had kicked in the nuts said something first. "It was him," Melinda said, pointing to the boy on the ground.

"And you are?" The teacher asked, looking Melinda up and down.

Melinda forced a smile before pressing her lips together. "Melinda Renaldi," she muttered. She knew where this was going. Whenever a teacher asked her name they always told her to report to the office. She glared at the teacher as those exact words escaped her lips. 'Sorry, mom,' she thought as she walked passed Jeff and the students who had gathered. She noticed Wolfy had found a girl along the way and she rolled her eyes. How was she going to get out of trouble with her mother?

As Noah commented about someone named Mindy, Ben was about to ask if he meant the chick with the killer kick but as cut-off by another female. Falling back into his chair as the girl fell into his lap, Ben smiled. "Normally I have to chase a girl around for them to fall for me," he mentioned the cheesy pick-up line. The girl who had fallen into him was rather cute, and Ben couldn't help but notice. She was just his type, but he wasn't looking to find someone just yet. Before Ben could say anything else, he watched as teachers hauled off three students. It wasn't long after that the bell had rung. "Hey, the names Ben by the way," He introduced himself before walking off towards his first period. This was a big school and Ben was sure to get lost somewhere along the way.

Six periods of boring lectures and three group projects later, Ben was free to go home but he dreaded going there. As he roamed the halls of the school looking for an exit, he ran into Sabine. "Not falling into me this time I see," Ben said. Walking up to her, he saw a small notebook that looked worn in her locker and Ben couldn't help but wonder what it was as all her school things had already been put into her bag. He remained silent, however, not wanting to pry into her life.

Melinda couldn't believe that her mother's phone had gone to voicemail, of course, the stupid secretary had left a message, but at least Melinda had a chance to explain herself. Pulling out her cell, she quickly sent a text explaining the situation to both of her mothers. It wasn't like she had gone out of her way to start a fight, she just finished it. There was a big difference in her mind, but there would be none in her mother's eyes. Nervously tapping her foot, Melinda waited with dread as she wondered just how many capitalized words her mother was about to send her, but nothing ever came.

"Melinda Renaldi," A male voice sounded out causing Melinda to flinch. Breathing in deeply, Melinda stood slowly and walked into a small office. She had expected it to be the principle, but instead, it was a counselor- Mr. Harding. "Melinda, please go ahead and take a seat. I wanted to speak with you about handling anger," Mr. Harding confessed. Melinda looked shocked. She knew how to handle anger, it was easy. Most times a swift kick to the nuts or a series of malicious tweets worked well. "I don't have an anger issue, Mister," Melinda retorted, which only made the counselor look at her harder. "Whatever, I have an anger issue when it comes to arrogant boys hitting me in the head," she mentioned looking out the window.

How long was this going to take?

The school day came and went, Melinda's phone still remained silent. Was her mother ignoring her? It would be completely unfair if Melinda was to walk inside the house and immediately be yelled at when a simple angry text would have worked. Melinda hated disappointing her mother more than anything else, well almost anything else. She still held a grudge against Sindel Willson from Kindergarten, she'd never forgiven the bitch for stealing her pink glitter.

Walking out of the school, Melinda saw Izzy walking across the snow-covered ground wearing no coat. "Woah, dude, aren't you scared to like catch a cold or something?" She questioned as she forced herself to walk through the now two feet of snow.

Princess Celeste
Three centuries ago, Queen Mila led her people, the werewolves, across the vast lands of the north to the Strengthening Ceremony at the border between Vampires and her kind. There her people would pour their energies into the Black crystal alongside vampire kind. This event was held once a year and was quite peaceful, but it ended when Queen Mila was surprisingly murdered by Count Nicolai, brother to the current King. The centuries-long war between vampire kind and werewolves was the result of her death. Werewolves knew that vampires only sought blood, and vampires believed that werewolves were nothing more than beasts to be slain.

Three centuries after the last Strengthening Ceremony King Joseph and Queen Desi rule of the lands of the north; They birthed three children- Crown Princess Celeste, Prince Leon, and Prince Lionel. Often Celeste adventures out into the vast forests and mountains of the north to learn about her people. Many times her parents wish for Shawn, a guard of the royal family, to accompany her on her journeys, but she refuses. There have been many times that Celeste would sneak out of the Royal castle. Tonight is one of those nights...

Twigs break underneath the weight of a large golden paw as the animal moves quickly across the forest floor. Dashing through the trees, it carries a bag on its right leg. The huffs and puffs coming from it show that it has journeyed a vast distance as it comes to a halt just behind three thick bushes. The cracking sound of bones breaking echoes in the forest as soft groans are heard. A girl no taller than five-and-a-half feet stands naked. Rummaging in the bag that has fallen to the ground, she slips on some jeans and a shoulderless black shirt. A necklace of what looks like a dark shard hangs from her neck. Pulling back her curly hair, she looks around. Her hazel eyes slightly glow in the dark.

"Finally," she murmurs as she steps on a cement alter. An impression is seen in the middle of the alter, and the girl bows. Removing the necklace, she places it on the alter. "I, Princess Celeste, hereby relinquish all of my lunar energy into the Black Crystal. Let moon connect with Earth, let earth connect with moon. May my people strive on this planet and may my foes as well, for today is a day of peace." Celeste speaks in Latin as she chants this phrase many times. Her necklace glows as a purple whisp leaves the crystal and enters the alter. A large black crystal breaks through the concrete and shines brightly; it seems to breathe as a small purple stream connects it to the moon above.; this continues for another few moments before the large black crystal returns to the ground. The cement covers it and seals itself; no one would know the alter has been touched. "Thank you, Goddess," Celeste says in utter admiration towards the moon.

Standing up, she moves back to the bushes and begins to undress, but before her shirt leaves her skin, she hears a faint sound coming from the east. She slowly lowers the shirt back down as she scans the woods. "Show yourself!" She calls out. Celeste wants to be brave but can feel herself shaking. Maybe she should have brought Shawn tonight? But then he would know what she did once a month, and he would surely tell her father. Celeste didn't want her parents finding out about her continuance of the Strengthening Ceremony. Celeste thought about quickly moving and escaping the scene, but she knew that wasn't an option. She could smell the men surrounding her, but she couldn't sense how close they were. Her gifts weren't working as well since fear filled her.

Two hands reached out of the dark in a fast blur, grabbing her quickly and running away. Her screams echo into the night as her body is whisked away from the alter site. Her bag was the only thing left in the brush near the bushes. Fidgetting against her attacker, Celeste breaks herself free before falling to the ground. A few groans of pain escape her mouth. Quickly getting to her feet she begins to run through the forest, but she is much slower in this form than that of her werewolf half. Again she feels two hands surround her, but this time the attacker tackles her to the ground. "HELP!" she yells as she punches the man's face repeatedly. "HELP!" she repeats louder.

Like lightning, a figure moves in the dark. Groans and screams escape Celeste's attackers as they hit the ground. The man pinning her to the forest floor is grabbed and thrown many yards away, leaving Celeste alone to look at her savior. "Thank you," she said. Standing to her feet, Celeste looks over the many cuts and bruises she had sustained from the altercation. Her mother was going to kill her. Dusting the dirt off of her dark clothing, Celeste tried to compose herself. Finally looking at the man who saved her, she got a better look than the glance she first took of him. He was rather tall and handsome, but Celeste could smell his heritage on him. He was indeed a vampire, the same as her attackers. Celeste prepared herself for the worst, but it never came. He merely questioned whether or not she was okay.

Nodding, Celeste looked around her; she needed to get her bearings. How far had they taken her? She was sure the alter was toward the west, but how sure was she? "I'm okay; a bit turned around. Could you point me towards the part of the border where the Ceremony takes place?" She accidentally used present tense when she spoke of the ceremony; she hoped that the stranger didn't notice, but she didn't hope hard enough. He noticed and an eyebrow raised on him. "Took place, not takes place. My bad," she said. A small blush appeared on her face. She prayed that she would be able to escape this interaction with this vampire with her life. He was quite strong to take on five vampires himself. What could she do? It took at least thirty-seconds to transform, but even then it was highly painful to turn so quickly.

☠The Secret Circle☠

  • Do you believe in magic?

In the small town of Ravenswood, magic isn't what it seems. It is not an illusion placed atop a Vegas stage, but it is as real as you and me; however, no many people know that. Those who speak the truth are often carried away to Raven Sanitarium. Once you go in you, never come out. So, if you know about the witches of Ravenswood, it is best to keep your mouth shut! It is funny how quickly your friends and family will turn on you if they think a few nuts and bolts are loose up there.

Thirty years ago, a fire broke out at the lighthouse. Locals described the event as though the gates of Hell opened up and destruction commenced. A teen named Drew O'Henry died in the lighthouse that night, his body was burned alive. The mystery is: what was Drew doing there? And how did he get in? See, the lighthouse is continuously locked up, but that night he still got in. His mother swore up and down that he was with his six other friends camping in the woods, but they all say he never showed up! Truth is Drew did show up; he was there camping alongside his friends when they decided to play a game of truth or dare.

Drew was dared to break into the lighthouse, steal one item, and return to the group. When he finally got in through a window, Drew found a young coven of witches. One panicked and set Drew ablaze. The flames coming off Drew set the Lighthouse on fire, while the coven escaped. Sickened by what they had just done, the coven disbanded and hid the Book of Shadows deep in the forest, and their family grimoires someplace on their properties. They vowed never to practice magic again and to protect their future children from the truth.

Fast forward to present time, and during a hike in the woods, six teens of the original coven stumble upon an abandoned house. Venturing inside they find the Book of Shadows, and it unleashes their powers to them; however, their circle will never be complete without the seventh family: the Renaldi family. The Renaldi family left Ravenswood almost a decade ago for unexplained reasons. Nearly a year after the discovery of the book, news spreads around town that the Renaldi family has returned since the matriarch of their family has passed. Though as they have returned, so has a great evil. Darkness begins to affect the town, and it is up to the coven to defeat it. Will the coven convince the Renaldi witch that magic does exist? Will they survive the evil stalking them? Or will they perish to the darkness?

  • Not much is known about the darkness, as no witch before has ever had to face it. Though it is easy enough to see the effects of the darkness on a human soul. A man who is cheery, kind, and caring one minute can be cruel, vindictive, and hateful the next. It is like a virus that spreads through the air, infecting humans and driving them to the point of madness. Each victim ends up muttering "the coven, find the coven." Local law enforcement believes that the coven is responsible for the attacks, but in reality, it is the darkness. Each night one of the seven witches are visited in their dreams by the darkness. It is always a shadowy man with red eyes. Each morning they wake with the feeling of death creeping around the corner.

    1. ALL IWAKU RULES APPLY!
    2. If you are lying about your age, please do not join. I would rather not run the risk of someone getting banned during the RP.
    3. This is an all-star roleplay, no smut is allowed. If smut commences with this storyline take it to PM's and stay in your age group.
    4. I am GM, what I say goes. If at some point I appoint a CO-GM, what we say goes! I am relatively nice and am willing to work with just about anyone, so don't be frightened off.
    6. The teens are between the ages 16-18.
    7. NO GOD-MODDING!!!! Each character can be hurt and if using the full extent of their abilities will result in a painful consequence.
    8. Characters must be accepted before you are able to post to the IC
    9. Please post at least once a week.
    10. This is a discord OOC RP. Links will be provided. It is much easier for many of the cast to receive messages that way.

  • COMING SOON

  • The music of the Neighborhood filled the manor at the edge of town. Inside stood a young girl with black hair as she finished ridding the house of moving boxes. She stood there in a long sleeve maroon shirt with grey shorts on as she raced around putting things away. Quickly smashing boxes and throwing them outside for recycling, she was in a hurry.

"Mindy, slow down," Cried her mother as the young girl nearly knocked the coffee out of her hand. Mindy ignored her mother by waving her hands in the air while mumbling "can't." The older red-haired female walked into the living room and sat next to her wife. "Maybe, we shouldn't have agreed to this. Who knows what kind of house we will return to come tomorrow," She worriedly said. Rachel and Cassie, mothers to Mindy and Wolf, agreed to let the two teens host a get-together at their new home. Of course, Mindy had to clean the house thoroughly, and Wolf needed to fix the mailbox he had run over with the moving truck.

Cassie sat back into the sofa and scrolled through her twitter. "What is the worst that can happen? Mindy has to clean tomorrow, and Wolf has to fix the mailbox again?" She joked. Cassie was worried herself, but not for the reasons Rachel was. Cassie worried that somehow the teens reconnecting would lead to the awakening of Mindy's gifts again. Cassie had done some questionable things to prevent her daughter's knowledge of her gifts; she didn't want it all hitting the fan now. "It's only one night, and we need it frankly. Besides, the hotel room is nonrefundable."

Mindy came crashing into the room with a box of movies. "Mom, where is the bookshelf? I didn't see it in the family room downstairs." Mindy stated as she sat the box down on the coffee table. The movies ranged from horror to romantic comedies set inside. Mindy watched as her mother's thought about the answer. "You don't know, do you?" Mindy groaned and grabbed the box again. "I'm stuffing this in the closet." She confessed as she left the room once more.

"Besides, Rach. Mindy wants to spend an evening with her friends. They haven't seen each other in years," Cassie said as she patted her wives leg. "And don't worry about any funny business. Mindy assures me that she is still a virgin." Cassie added.

Downstairs, Mindy stood placed many blankets on the sofas and chairs. Her friends didn't have to stay over, but if they wanted to, they could. Mindy and Wolf had gathered plenty of snacks and drinks for the evening. Wolf even got ahold of some alcohol for tonight. The family room looked out on the creek just passed their backyard. It was peaceful and when it rained made the place quite eerie. Mindy was in love. She didn't remember her grandmother's home being so updated and beautiful, but returning here was like finding the place she belonged.

Going into her room, Mindy checked her phone for any text messages from her friends. Izzy was on her way over. Auggie was bringing his cousin. Ben and Damien, two people Izzy swore by, were leaving their home soon. Sabine and Hales weren't heard from, but Mindy knew they were still coming sometime tonight. Sighing, Mindy looked at her closet. She wanted to wear something cute, but simple enough. It took nearly an hour to pick an outfit and freshen up for the evening. Once finished with her makeup, she heard the doorbell ring. Izzy was here. Running upstairs, she quickly passed her mother and opened the door. A squeal escaped the girl as she jumped around hugging her best friend.

Cassie chuckled and looked at Izzy. "It's nice to see you, Izabelle, but my wife and I will be taking our leave now," Cassie confessed as she wheeled out a small luggage piece and carried two other small ones. "Rachel can never have too many options," Cassie commented on the amount of bags for one night.

"Mindy, we might stay two nights. Anyway, those pizzas you ordered are on the way. Money is in the kitchen." Rachel said as she followed her wife out.

Mindy waved goodbye. "Thanks, moms." She noticed that Wolf was still having trouble fixing the mailbox since it didn't want to go into the cold ground. "Just get one to hang on the wall out here!" She yelled at him and taped the outside siding. Wolf looked relieved. He also looked freezing. It was early January, and the start of the second semester of school was in two days. The temperatures were freezing, but yet no snow fell only rain. Mindy thought it was such an odd thing, but dismissed it as she claimed she didn't know everything about the weather. Looking at Iz, she smiled. "Let's go downstairs," she said.

As the two friends went downstairs, Mindy sent out of mass text letting the others know to come to the back door on the lower level. The front door upstairs was locked now. "I got almost every kind of chip, soda, and candy imaginable. Rachel's famous hot wings are in the oven cooking. Pizza is on the way. And Wolf bought like three kinds of ice cream. Oh! And the pizza is on its way. I think we are good on food tonight." Mindy informed her friend.

    ~Responsible ~ Caring ~ Reclusive ~ Cold ~ Loyal ~ Protective ~ Fun-loving ~ Quick Thinker ~ Street Smart ~ Flirty ~ Book Smart ~
Joanna has always been the responsible older sister that works her ass off for her family; it is almost second nature to protect her loved ones from dangers. When she was younger, Joanna cared a lot for others and gave too many second chances, which resulted in a semi-reclusive and unforgiving nature. Joanna doesn't trust others too easily anymore, but once she does she is highly loyal; however, her trust can be lost faster than it can be gained.
Joanna can be a bit of a party girl at times. Drowning her sorrows and problems in alcohol is much easier than facing them head-on. She tends to be quite flirty and almost scandalous when she is looking for a good time, but don't expect it to get any further than a one night stand. Some fun adventures that Joanna has gone on has landed her in the middle of some questionable situations. During these situations, Joanna has narrowly gotten out of trouble by thinking fast on her feet. Joanna isn't book smart, but she is incredibly street smart. She knows how to read people well and tell them what they want/need to hear.

  • Life is too short! Why not fuck it up a little?!?!

In the small town of Rosewood, life isn't the easiest. Often times, everyone is struggling with something, whether it is in private or for the whole world to see. Loved ones dying, drug addictions, cheating scandals, you name and someone in this tiny town is going through it. It's hard, but that is life. However, one group of friends happen to be going through the works a bit more than others this year. It's like they can't catch a break, but will things change when a mysterious group of strangers enters town? Who knows because these strangers bring some baggage of their own. Back in L.A., these strangers are known as Break the Silence- a band specializing in inspirational rock-metal music to get you through those hard times- but here in Rosewood, no one recognizes them. The band, deciding to stay a bit while their tour bus gets fixed up, makes some connections with the locals and learns a thing or two about their own lives, and just how hard their lives really are.

No one is ready, but this is life!

  • Here I wanted to talk with you guys a little about the rules we Gms got for this RP. Don't worry it'll be quick!!!
    1. All Iwaku rules apply here! So let's keep that in mind.
    2. A Gms ruling here is like law, so listen to me and my co-gm if I appoint one. Don't worry you will know who they are.
    3. This is a Redstar RP, that means there might be a little smut here and there, but this is NOT a sex-crazed rp! If you aren't comfortable with a smut scene, let us know! We can put it in a spoiler so you don't have to see it. There is nothing wrong with not wanting to see any of that! Also, please nothing too crazy or taboo.
    4. DO NOT JOIN IF YOU ARE LYING ABOUT YOUR AGE! I hate seeing fellow Iwaku members being banned for something as silly as that. Just tell the truth about your age, it isn't hard.
    5. If something may be a trigger for someone, go ahead and put it in a spoiler. This rp centers around the toughest parts of life and how people manage to get through it, I just want to make sure that certain explicit or violent events are chosen to be viewed not forced!
    6. If you are ever needing help with something about this rp, characters, coding, anything ASK! I'm not a great coder, but I can help point you in the direction of some amazing coders out there. Iwaku is full of talented and helpful people, so don't be shy to speak up.

Joanna "JJ" Marshall

The soft and comforting smells and a variety of pastries filled the pack house as Joanna stood, flour on her apron, whisking another batch of cake batter. Joanna had waited months for the festival to arrive, and now it was only hours away. She was beyond excited to party it up with her friends, including the party-poopers and frenemies. Joanna did not care. As she stood in the kitchen, young wolves of the pack entered and stared at her. "Just get another one," Joanna sighed. She couldn't say no to feeding people, espeically those of her pack. It was the motherly side of her that was her weakness; put a child in front of her and she'd be blindly obligated to protect, care for, and love it.

The next few hours, before getting ready, were spent baking edibles for those that wished to leave planet Earth for a bit. Tonight's festival would cater to all wolves of the Blood Pearl pack, just the way she liked it. Sitting in front of her bedroom mirror, Joanna applied her makeup as she rapped to Sicko Mode. Joanna was wild when she rapped, but she needed to stay calm before she messed up her eyeliner. It wasn't long after finishing her look that she thought about her sister, Penny not shown her face yet. Was the girl for real sleeping still? Rolling her eyes, Joanna walked down the hallway and knocked on her little sister's door. "You got to get up and get ready for the bonfire!" She called out with a hint of enthusiasm in her voice. Joanna didn't stick around to hear the groans and murmurs of her sister's complaining. It was Penny's fault for not waking up earlier.

Joanna made her way down to the festival grounds, a few dozen wolves were already there hanging out as music played in the background. As time went on, more and more people began to show up. Tonight was going to be good. Trucks and booths were there serving food and drinks from around the world. It was heaven. Joanna stopped in front of a pizza booth and smiled. "Two large pepperoni slices, please," Joanna said and forked over some cash as a tip. Chowing down on her two slices, Joanna walked by her bakery booth. "How's it going, April?" She asked a teenaged wolf that was tasked with handing out the baked goods. "Make sure to get some of the huckleberry pie; I made it especially for you." Joanna finished talking to the young girl when Alpha Dorian delivered his speech. Joanna admired Dorian. He was strong, brave, and someone Joanna respected. Out of everyone in her life, he never let her down so far. Joanna raised her slice of pizza high instead of a beer. She howled in agreement. Tonight's hunt would be marvelous and just the thing she needed.

Just as Joanna turned, she noticed a dead deer laying on a log. "What the actual fuck, dude!" She questioned. No part of her understood the constant need Tyson had to be rebellious and show off his skills. Everyone got it; Tyson was good at hunting. Joanna dropped her gaze, she didn't want to get into it with Tyson at the moment, besides it was better to leave him alone when he was trying to demonstrate his superiority over Dorian. Wandering around, Joanna stopped behind her sister and Jude. He was eating some delicious fried Oreos, and Penny was taking some, of course. "Stealing Oreos, I see, and from Jude? Don't you know never to mess with his food?" Joanna joked as she moved closer to the bonfire. Looking down at the slice of pizza, "Want my other slice, Nell?" She asked holding out the plate to Penny.

Mindy heard the door open up moments after she took a seat on the couch. Her gaze drifted over towards the doorway when she noticed Ben had arrived, but where was Damien? "Smoke break?" She questioned in regards to Damien, Ben nodded and immediately went to the snack bowl. He realized that he was here before anyone else, causing Mindy to chuckle. "Yeah, at least I can trust you to be on time," she joked as she grabbed a water from the cooler. It wasn't too long after that that Mindy heard many voices coming from outside; Mindy looked over towards the doorway again and this time squealed in excitement. "You're here!" Mindy said in relief. Noticing that she basically just insulted Ben's company she looked at him with a grin. "No offense, Benny," Mindy said through a grin. Ben raised his hands in defense, "I get it, we're not friends," he jokingly cried.

Despite Mindy being happy to see her best friend, she was also excited to see Roz again. It had been so long and Mindy looked forward to getting to know her best friend's cousin. "Oh my god, I can't believe you're here!" Mindy exclaimed as gave Roz a hug. Mindy's attention turned to Izzy when she noticed the cute skirt she wore. "Holy shit girl, that outfit is hot!" Mindy said as she admired Izzy's outfit, "but it is cold as hell outside, what are you doing?" Mindy was always one to boost her friends and make them feel good about their appearance, she never wanted anyone to feel down around her, but Izzy was just asking for pneumonia. Mindy finally noticed the presents as Izzy came into the room more. A small blush came to Mindy's cheeks. Mama Izabelle always loved to give gifts, but Mindy wasn't sure what the occasion was for these gifts. "Tell mama, thank you," Mindy said as she quickly grabbed the gifts and hid them in her room.

"Wolfy went off to get Hales, I don't know why he was so hyped to do it though. I can barely ever get a ride out of that fool," Mindy commented as she smelled something fishy. She shrugged it off as Damien, Sabine, Auggie, and Auggie's cousin entered the room. Mindy noticed Auggie's cousin almost immediately, though she couldn't remember his name too well. He was rather hot but had something dark about him that Mindy wanted to know more about. What could she say? She had a thing for bad boys. Waving hello to Damien and smiled at Sabin, Mindy spoke softly, "Long time no see, bean. Tonight is going to be great!" Mindy said as she hugged Sabine. She looked like she had been going through some shit, but Mindy was gonna make it her mission to help the girl out as best she could. Sabine was also a childhood friend of Mindy's and they use to play together often. What Izzy didn't understand was Mindy's fascination with the darker things in life, Sabine was the one friend that understood. Mindy was highly grateful for having two close friends that made her childhood amazing. When things hit the fan, she knew she could count on those two. "Go ahead and relax guys," Mindy said inviting everyone in.

Mindy went and grabbed her water, taking a sip she looked at Auggie and his cousin, his name was slowly coming back to her. They were in the corner of the room talking. Again, Mindy felt something dark about his cousin but ignored it, she couldn't judge a book by its cover. Approaching the two, Mindy smiled. "Auggie! Oh, I missed you so much," she said giving him a side hug. Auggie and Mindy weren't super close, but Mindy loved Auggie's company when she was younger. He was always calm and level headed compared to her other friends, Mindy loved the peace. A lot of the time, Mindy would solve her problems in the presence of Auggie, simply because she never was overthinking around him. Looking over to his cousin, Mindy seemed to stare for a second. A smirk came to her face as she pushed her hair back a little. "I'm Mindy, you must be Julian."
