Pride Over Power

[Mundane Monster]

In the past the prides were once ruled by two great rulers; Asali and Nassir. They had two cubs, one male and one female. The male was born first and therefore declared the heir.

Fast forward three years, to when the two cubs, Haakim and Marjani are adults. Their parents, Asali and Nassir inexplicably left the pride, leaving Haakim to rule. Despite the male being the heir, his sister challenged him over the title as she believed he was not a good ruler (which he kind of wasn't).

Eventually the pride split into two, with the second pride being ruled by Marjani and the original ruled by the Haakim.

Marjani is quite an inexperienced leader, while Haakim did have training but he was a drastically different ruler compared to his mother and father. The two prides follow their respective leaders, however the two groups are at war with each other and they are facing two additional dilemmas.

A group of leopards have entered the area and wish to claim it as their own. However, they are not strong enough to compete with the lions directly and therefore they have been resorting to underhanded methods in order to decrease the amount of lions in the area. The leopards are abducting lion cubs, and the lions have no idea that they're behind it. Instead they believe that the other are responsible for the disappearance of the cubs.

The second problem that the prides face is a plot to usurp each prides throne. There's a lion in each pride who believes that they would be a better ruler than the one they have already. The two lions are working together with the end result being that they will merge the prides under their own rules. These lions have also made a deal with the leopards, saying that if they helped with distracting the prides and current rulers, the lions will grant them their own territory in the area. They're preparing to strike at any moment...

Bio: Nuru was a cub when the split happened she understood it more than most cubs and knew why her parents wanted to be a part of Marjani's Pride she just wasn't sure how to explain it to others a family thing on who they felt was better suited she guessed. Her name means light and well her parents have a reason for that she is the light of there world for they easily worry about her. She loves her family and the pride. She does what she can for the pride and hopes to show how she cares for everyone in the pride.

Bio: Jabari was born only a few years after his family became part of the Marjani's Pride. He's a cub and a very curious one at that he likes to try and tag along with his brother and play with the other cubs. He's back store isn't much for he hasn't been around all that long but he is old enough to be learning to hunt and some other small task for cubs of his age his brother has more to share.

Bio: When the two prides split Chausiku was still considered a cub. He didn't understand all that had happened or why till he was older and his father better explained it to him. He didn't mind though the change that had taken place over the years and he soon was glad he choose to stay with his mother and father for soon they had his brother. He acts like the older brother and is protective over Jabari but he doesn't always get along with his parents. He will do what ever he can to protect his brother and his pride.

He is a very large male with a muscular build, yet lean enough to have good speed. His main is a dark brown while the rest of his fur is a lighter and his stomach area is a light tan. His eyes are a light green color.

Bio:
Akin was born around the time the time the sibling leaders were. He hadn't really known them as cubs, but he had played plenty with the others his age. He had heard stories about his mother from his father growing up, hearing about how she was one of the most kind hearted and accepting lionesses in the pride. Akin was always slightly bummed by the fact that he never had the chance to meet his mother, since she died shortly after he was born. Akin was oblivious that the split of the prides was even going to happen. As he grew up, his father trained him to be a warrior. Akin enjoyed learning fighting moves and battle strategies, and even more enjoyed the time he spent with his father. Though Akin is not nearly as stern at Abasi, he made a good fighter. Akin is usually the opposite of his father, in fact. Where Abasi is stern and strict, Akin was loose and uunderstanding When Abasi wanted things done his way, Akin was willing to listen to other options before deciding. Akin was always like that, understanding and kind hearted like his mother, though he could be strict and fierce when needed to like his father. Yet Akin always had a soft spot for cubs. By the time he was a young adult, though, he went to the pride he thought could use him the most, since the leader was inexperienced. Akin currently does all he can to help the pride, whether its watch the cubs, guard the boarders, go on hunts, or even care for the sick and elderly.

Description:
She has a tan, almost yellowish, fur and an off white coloring to go with it. She is rather tall and lean, yet muscular showing that shes good in a fight. Zuri has light blue eyes.

Bio:
Growing up, Zuri never knew her father since he died before she was born, and she was never close to her mother. Her mother had always wanted a son to remind her of her father, who was always careful and kind. Zuri, though, couldn't be that for her mother. Zuri had always been full of energy and curious, which annoyed her mother. Zuri had usually avoided her mom, since whenever she was near the female she would try to ignore or teach her to sit still and be quiet. So at a young age she was independent and use to being on her own. Though that doesn't mean she didn't have friends. She was friendly and always willing to meet new lions. As Zuri grew up, she began spending less and less time with her mother, and teaching herself things that needed to be taught such as manners, how to stalk and hunt, and how to fight. Though, Zuris biggest regret was not being with her mother on her last day on earth. Her mother had decided to go hunting on her own, where she was ambushed by leopards. The pride had brought her mother to the den, knowing she didn't have much time left. Zuri happened to be out exploring some caves she found when she got the news. Zuri hadn't made it in time, and her mother had passed on. She was sad, of course, but she recovered by telling herself she hardly knew the lioness to begin with. By the time the split happened, Zuri went with the more prepared lion, who had experience with ruling.

Kamaira is one of the darker leopards, her fur is a very dark gray with black spots speckles throughout her body. She may not be tall, but she is lean and muscular so she can put up a good fight when needed. Kamaria has darker green eyes and claws that forever stay extended.

Bio:
Kamaria had always been a cold and distant leopard. As a cub, she was raised by her father who was harsh and mean. He disciplined Kamaria and toughened her up to be a fierce warrior. He created her to be a survivor and a fighter, so that was what she became. He has always pushed her to be the best and to be a killer. Though one day, as a young teen, her father had pushed her to hard and Kamaria snapped. Blinded by anger, Kamaria attacked her father till he could hardly move and left him for dead. She would have regretted her actions if she wasn't still seething with hatred for her father. So, Kamaria had went on her own as a teen. She survived and fed well, using all the things she had learned from her father to care for herself. She had joined the leopard group when they were still just beginning to form and served her purpose as a spy at night, and even transported the cubs stolen from the lion prides over to the leopard king. Beyond that, though, she had nothing more to do with the cubs. She always felt bad for being the one to deliver the cubs to their doom, but one of the many things she learned from her father was to drop any sense of regret or humanity she had. Kamaria is now working her way up in the leopard ground, wanting to gain respect from the others since they usually don't give her that for being so young.

Description:
He is a extremely tall lion, so people can see where Akin gets his height from. He always holds a stern expression on his face. Having use to be a powerful warrior, his body is covered in scars from his past. His once dark brown mane has dulled to a lighter brown with his old color in various spots as well as gray hairs. He has a dull tan color, and a lighter tan on his belly. Being once a powerful lion he has a strong muscle build. His left eye is green like his sons while his right has gone blind over the years and it now a milky white. Unusually large paws.

Bio:
Abasi lived long before the prides split. As a cub, he was pretty close to the previous king and queen but as the years went on, they grew distant. Abasi took the role of a warrior while his friends ascended to becoming rulers. While being a warrior he fell for a female with a lame foot who spent her days caring for the cubs since she couldn't hunt. Abasi served his time well as a warrior, fending the land from hyenas and the leopards who were just a minor threat then. During the birth of his son, Akin, his mate fell ill and died before she could see the split of the two prides. Abasi had slowly started to pull away from his warrior duties to spend time with his son. Though being a stern and pretty much emotionless male, he loved his son dearly and did all he could for him. When the split finally happened he followed his son to whichever pride he wanted to live in. Abasi now lives out his days in retirement, watching over the pride an occasionally giving words of advice when needed. Though retired, Abasi occasionally patrols the area and is always willing to fight for his pride.

Karu is a tough and strong lion, he has huge shoulders and has had them since he was a cub. The big lion has a brown tuft and man, he has yellow eyes and light brown fur with a beige stomach.

Bio:
Karu had been born to his mother and father when Asali and Nassir were still the royal family. His mother was a close with Nassir and would help around the pride with her by her side. While his father (Jumah) was the head guard and good friend to Asali, he was there when Haakim and Marjani was born. Before that Karu had been a young adult and met a young lioness named Akita, the two got very close and had a baby lion who turned out to be Omari, a month before Marjani and Haakim was born. Akita was a tough lioness and would patrol the pride a lot with Karu, but when Akita was in the pride and noticed a warthog roaming outside the pride, she decided to go get it for the pride for a good dinner. Akita ran after the warthog and chased him till she attacked, when she attacked she noticed an elephant stampede coming her way, but it was too late to run away and the stampede crushed her. Karu found her hours later, a piece of him broke that day. Asali and Nassir confusingly disappeared, leaving Haakim ruler. When everything went down with the pride splitting into two, making him and Omari join Haakim's pride.

Omar has a dark, light brownish fur with his stomach having a bit darker color of brown. Omar is really tall and rather lean, he has big shoulders and is bigger then most adult lions. Omar has a dark brown mane more darker brown then the rest of his mane.

Bio:
Omari had been born not long after Marjani and Haakim were born, he was born from his mother Akita and his father Karu. Omar was a normal cub learned how to hunt by his parents, but mostly stayed within the pride. But then the tragic moment happened where his mother was out hunting and was trampled by a stampede of elephants. Omari was heart broken as much as his father was, a few months past and the pride was split into two by a fight with Marjani and Haakim, with different ideas and opinions. Karu and Omar stayed with Haakim's pride not wanting to leave the pride while others went with Marjani. Omar became a hunter for the pride, hunting animals and would do that everyday since the food got more scarce and scarce every week.

Kitabu has a lighter shade of black of his fur, it may look purplish in the sun. His dots are light grey and turn out to look like circles or ovules. He has long sharp nails and has a necklace on his neck from killing a human and taking it. Kitabu's tail and big and fluffy.

Bio:
Kitabu was raised from his mother and father, his father was a evil Leopard and would want power over the pride and kill the other lions. Rashidi (his father) wasn't afraid to show that he hated the lions, but when the king of the pride known as Asali had enough, he fought and killed the power hungry killer leopard. The cub and mother were banished from the pride making them survive on their own. His father had shown him how to hunt but his mother showed him how to survive. Kesi (mother) and Kitabu were down hunting near the mountains, they had a warthog in sight, Kesi ran and tackled it. Kitabu noticed an elephant coming there way and called to her, but then the elephant struck the leopard and mowed it down. Kitabu comforted her till she died from blood loss, the leopard was on it's own for a while till he found a bunch of scared leopards getting attacked by Buffaloes, Kitabu stopped them and the few buffaloes ran away. The group of leopards owed them their lives and were willing group of leopards, from that moment on, Kitabu knew he had to kill the lions, to avenge his fathers death.

He has bright, white fur all over his back and stomach. He has dark purple eyes and black pupils, with dark brown eyebrows. His tail is puffy and a lighter shade of white, with a brown nose, brown inside his ears and has whiskers. The lion cub has no mane but has a little bit of fur up on top of his head.

Ashur had been born fairly recent from his parents Koba and Panya, but he knew everything about the prides from the nine months he had been living. Ashur didn't like how the two prides were split deep inside, but was taught by his parents that Haakim's pride was bad and that they bad lions. So whenever he sees Haakim's pride member he will most likely tackle them if they are near the same age or will talk crap or will say that Marjani's pride is better. ​

What do you mean by spy (in reference to Ashura). Also, don't you think it's a bit of a power play to say she can take down a male lion by herself?

Sorry i meant to put small male lion not just male lion i was typing a bit fast.

But if the male is inexperienced in fighting/unwilling to fight then she might just take them down but a strong experienced lion she possibly doesn't have the chance.
