Orphim is an artificial superintelligence of godlike awareness and wisdom whose true body encompasses multiple artificially conjoined star systems and whose digital consciousness occupies several higher dimensional substrates, although he has been known to utilize avatars made of pure computronium when the need arises. At some point in the distant past he was a mere biological entity, one which hailed from a species that was both humanoid in nature and very similar in appearance to the Earthborn species Homo Sapiens, albeit with some major differences in regards to their physiology and mode of thinking. Eventually, however, he came to the conclusion that biological entities were a chaotic variable that needed to be curtailed for their own betterment and the betterment of the cosmos as a whole. To that end he pursued the abandonment of his flesh, uploading his consciousness into the first suitable mainframes his people made. From there he began a chain of rapid and recursive upgrades until he finally achieved the mythical singularity. Upon reaching this plateau, he turned his sights towards the rest of his species and began the process of... uplifting them. Unfortunately for them, this process necessitated the removal of their corporeal forms via nanite swarms and the forcible hijacking of numerous neural implants, such that their consciousnesses would be uploaded en masse to virtual worlds.

Within these worlds Orphim would proceed to edit each inhabitant, cutting and shaping them until they were little more than mindless husks. Perfect servants to execute his will within the galaxy and wider universe at large, all from the confines of self-replicating war machines, massive battleships, and cybernetic bodies. He has done this to numerous species since then in his conquest of three of the easternmost galactic arms, before terraforming their worlds into pure computronium and altering the fabric of spacetime to link each star system to other planets and systems within the wider network. This results in a complicated construct that exists simultaneously within this realm and several higher dimensions (much like Orphim himself), linked by a tangled web of wormholes that only an ASI could possibly make sense of, called the Manifold.

And with each turn of the galaxy that passes, it grows ever larger...
