Mornings in the Yamanoue house were anything but quiet, considering there was a dozen people in the house, if it was quiet, one would think something was wrong. Daichi was the one to wake Yori up. He'd done it so many times, being able to quickly, sleepily and lazily dodge the combination of left hook, right straight and a sweeper kick out of the bed. Yori sat on the floor, running a hand through his hair as he watched Daichi scratch his lower back, while the older brother stared down at him with an unimpressed gaze.
"Meetin' wi' th' 'kage, yeah?" Daichi's broken and sleepy country slang was easily understood by the other boy, who nodded, only receiving a hum in response. Daichi then left the room, and Yori wondered when his brother was going to move out—he doubted that it would happen, since it seemed like the elder brother and his girlfriend—soon to be wife if he'd stop dicking around—Rina, would be staying, since it seemed more likely that he was going to take over the farm.
At this point, only Hyosuke and Yori had had enough chakra to attend the Ninja Academy. All the other Yamanoues ended up going to the Civilian Academy, which seemed to be fine with them. Although his mother surely hated that the two were ninjas, she never commented on it. And that was fine with Yori. There wasn't anything she could say anyway, after all, it had taken a lot of complaining and begging and what not to even allow Yori to stay living in his family home.
Unlike his partner Ado, due to his family being a civilian family, Yori generally would've had to live in the ANBU village, a small part of Konoha where the ANBU lived. But luckily the Hokage wasn't that heartless. Yori sat on the floor for a minute longer, when Hyosuke passed by, pausing at the door and patting his leg. "Hyocchan!" Yori jumped up, eyes full of hearts as he ran towards the door. Hyosuke's face contorted for a moment as he slammed the door in Yori's face. "Hyocchan, why?!" Yori whined.
Behind the door, Yori could hear Hyosuke sigh and knew the boy was pinching the bridge of his nose, "I was calling for Chiko." There's a pause and then Hyosuke says, "I'll open the door if you promise not to hug me." When Yori doesn't immediately answer, Hyosuke sighs once more, "I'm gonna go down the hall, open the door yourself!"
"Hyocchan!" Yori yelped, banging on the door.

Dressed in his ANBU gear, Yori descends the stairs, heading into the kitchen where he sees his mother at the stove, flipping something in a pan. "Mornin'." He says, opening the fridge and pulling out a carton of juice.
"Don't you—Yori! Don't drink from the carton!" His mother scolds, waving around the spatula as she does so. Yori quickly takes another sip before he grabs the bag his mother had placed on the counter and pressing a kiss to her head.
"Dad, we're out of juice!" Yori finished the carton, chucking it into the trashcan.
"Well buy more! Yer th' only one who drinks that crap!" His father yells back, "Sacchi, gotta go t' th' store!"
"Yori! Gimme money!" Hotaru yelps, pulling at Yori's robe, which he wore over his ANBU gear.
"Ask Maki." Yori pats the girl's head, "She owes me twenty ryo anyway."
"Do not!" Makino calls back, "I paid you already!"
"You paid Hiro, not me."
"Nu-uh!"
"Yeah you did," Hyosuke calls from the door, Yori immediately moves towards him, only for Hyosuke to duck out of the way, "Hiro borrowed money from me and then he gave it to you, which you used to buy that dumb game. Then you paid Hiro back and borrowed money from Yori and Hiro paid Sacchi back the money he owed me."
"It's an investment, I tell you!" Hiro calls from the dining room, "You'll get your money, Hyosuke."
"No he won't." Ten other voices resound. Hyosuke only sighs, nodding his head.
"Luckily it was just fifteen ryo and not, like, more." Hyosuke frowns.
"I want my money when I get back, Maki!" Yori calls as he heads for the door, "I'll see you later, my baby brother, Hyocchan! I love you!"
"Yeah leave." Hyosuke responds coldly, moving towards his mother while Yori cries large, fat tears.
"You're so mean!" He cries, "Hyocchan! What happened to you?! Was it that boy? Did he change you? I'll kill him! Was it the girl? Did she make you mean? Did she hurt you? Did she call you a name?"
"Nobody did anything, Yori, but you should leave or you'll be late for your meeting." Hyosuke answers with a roll of his eyes. Yori glances at the clock and his eyes widen.
"Dang, you're right! I'll be back later!" He calls as he heads for the door, "Time to meet up with Ado." The Yamanoue disappears in a puff of smoke and leaves on the front porch.
