Monsters were once human. They were once completely normal people. Now. . . they are something much different. At some point during their lives, they underwent a transformation. There are many different ways a transformation can happen, such as an accident, experimentation, a project gone awry, a ritual of some sort, whatever you can think of, I'm really excited to see people's creativity.
When Monsters were discovered, people were terrified. They had no idea what to make of these creatures. They assumed Monsters were dangerous. Indeed, some were. Some, but not all.
As a result, a new job opened up. Monster Hunters. At first, Monster Hunters were only meant to neutralize Monsters that were threats. The definition of threat soon started to bend as the station became more and more corrupt. Now, all Monsters live in fear of Hunters, whether or not they've done anything wrong.

Characters-
Your character can be Monsters, Monster Hunters, or just a plain old humans. Some notes on each character type.
Monsters- how monstrous your monster looks is entirely up to you. Maybe they're human-passing most of the time, or maybe they're so terrifying they don't even want to look at themselves. Be creative with it! Another thing to think about is how being shunned from society has affected them. Are they bitter, scared, sad, what? How have they been affected by this different treatment?
Monster Hunters- just because their station is corrupt doesn't mean your character has to be. They can believe they are in the right, they can believe what they're doing is necessary. Or they can be corrupt, giving the station a dark reputation in the eyes of Monsters. This is a story about your character and how they grow. Maybe they'll see not all Monsters are evil, or on the flip side, grow more and more extreme in their hatred.
Plain Old Human- As in real life, there are all kinds of people, with all kinds of opinions. Do they like Monsters and think they deserve better? Do they go so far as to harbor them like fugatives? Are they just scared, not understanding? Are they hateful and cruel, contributing to the way society treats monsters? Up to you! Plain old people are welcome to become Monster Hunters, and Monster Hunters are welcome to quit being Monster Hunters and become Plain old people.
For Monsters and Plain Old People, your character can be any age that you want. For Monster Hunters, the minimum age is sixteen.

Character Sheet-

Physical Description or Picture:
How they feel about Monsters(yes this question applies to monsters as well):
Skills/Powers (for monsters, these can be semi-supernatural abilities, for everyone else, just normal skills please):
Weakness(es)(Mainly for Monsters, to ensure they don't get too overpowered and become undefeatable):
Personality:
Interests:
Mannerisms/Quirks:
History (for Monsters, include transformation):
Extra (optional):

Once your character has been accepted (either directly or by means of a rating), please put them on the Character Index.

Rules-
1- Please keep it as PG-13 as possible! Romantic relationships and scenes are allowed just. . . try to be fairly chill with it. Swearing is fine.
2- Try to post at least two or three times a week (more if you can, but I understand a lot of people are busy). At least one decent sized paragraph per post more is welcome.
3- be considerate of your fellow writers, and ask them before doing certain things, such as killing their character, etc. I've had one too many roleplays ruined by trigger-happy trolls.
4- Have fun with it and be creative!

With that, I leave you to it! Once I've accepted a few characters we can begin the roleplay proper!

Right, done.

On an unrelated note, I'm seeing a lot of rather monstrous and physically imposing characters. So I'm thinking, after I finish my hunter, of making someone who's just the opposite. And I don't mean like a Minizilla, but a literal child. Honestly I just kinda wanna throw a 12-year-old in the mix and see how it goes(yes I'm aware he would die much easier). And of course he'll have decent powers to kinda balance him out. Anyone have any thoughts on the matter?

Awesome idea, go for it dude!

Siana's strength isn't mentioned anywhere in the CS as those numbers were discovered in later memories of her life, so it's blocked out.

In her monster form she is probably unrivaled in her strength just based off her size alone. What her actual strength may be in numbers is typically an afterthought after witnessing a one-hundred foot monster.

As a human, it'll all be revealed in the RP through discussions, actions and memories.

Regardless of strength or size of her monster form, a usable weakness is still needed (if you haven't got one already) please and thank you! :)

True i just want to make sure it's ok before i start making him, also just to mix things up if that's cool with the dm then i'm also going to have him hate most women
a vampiric sexist, huh? Interesting enough, though definitely has been done. Only messing with you. Maybe don't get too crazy with the women hate, not to stifle your character/creativity, but other than that, a vampire sounds cool!

Lol There's plenty of reasons for him to hate most of them but that doesn't mean he won't warm to someone if they have an understanding and such

Sounds good enough to me, submit this guy and I'll look his character sheet over and probably approve him.

Gender
Female

Sexuality

(Siana's never allowed anyone to come close enough to her, thus she doesn't know which gender she's attracted to.)

Monster / Monster Hunter / Regular Person
Monster

Physical Description or Picture
Human
Siana has medium to long, raven black hair that falls just passed the middle of her back, her skin is naturally tanned a sign of her mixed heritage. She stands at about six-foot two, her body is large and well built; rather fitting for what she is and what she is capable of. Her eyes are almond shaped, although they seem a little large they somehow don't look big with the rest of her features. Her irises an unnaturally vibrant, honey and amber colour, under normal circumstances. As her anger grows red lines and specks begin to flow and spark across her eyes.

Overall Siana's face is fairly squared off, her jaw not as dominant but certainly evident and coming to a wide, slightly rounded off chin. Her cheekbones are also evident and sit in the middle of her face, not too high or too low, smooth and not too sharp. Her nose is thicker across, giving a bit of space between her eyes but not in an unattractive manner. Her lower lip is fuller compared to the thin wide m-shape of her upper lip. From the side her nose is straight with the slightest bump right at the bridge, very reminiscent of the sculptures of the roman people.

As a human she maintains rather prominent fangs along with claws on both hands and feet. She tries to keep the claws under control with trimming and filing but they tend to come back to full length faster than expected.

Monster
Standing at roughly 30 meters which translates to about one-hundred feet makes Siana's mostrous form one of colossal proportions. A rather fitting size considering her destiny and reason for existence. A hybrid of humanoid features mixed in with draconic and reptilian characteristics, this colossus of a being holds feminine attributes across her form and face beneath her matching hair and burning pupil-less eyes which are almost the same colour of her human glare, the red of rage mixing into what could be considered a rather beautiful and harmonious mixture of honey and amber.
Two large horns protrude from her forehead and curve backwards slightly. A thick long tail extends from the base of her spiked spine. Clawed human-like hands and feet, along with plating across several defined and large muscle groups. Her elbows and knees are also slightly spiked as well.

How they feel about Monsters:
Siana does not easily make friends with anyone. Her thoughts towards monsters, humans and hunters are all in the same vein of 'keep your distance, it's safer that way'.

Skills / Powers / Weaknesses:
Human:

Pros:
  • Supernatural durability, strength and stamina along with supernatural senses. Her sense of smell being the strongest.
  • Trained from a young age in the ways of her tribe's warriors, mostly harnessing the use of spears and staffs.
Cons:
  • Siana is built and meant to be a warrior, this means she can take hits and dish out deadly blows, but is slow due to her physical size.
  • Her acute senses can cause problems for her as well. Whether it's bright lights momentarily blinding her or different high and low frequencies of sounds being able to stun her.
  • Siana's emotions also tend to severely affect her actions, more often than not leading her to make stupid decisions in the heat of the moment.

Monster:

Pros:
  • Uncalculated amounts of strength due to the severe change in every aspect of her size.
  • The protective plating across her body has faced no issues against human weaponry, new or old.

Cons:
  • Similar to the issues she has in her human form, Siana is still slow, if not slower in her Colossal form. Capable of covering more ground with larger strides doesn't necessarily make someone faster.
  • This form requires large amounts of energy to enter and also leads to Siana being almost completely drained upon returning to her human form.
  • Should anyone manage to knock her unconscious in this form she will most likely remain that way, reverting to her human form and staying knocked out until her body can regain enough energy to function again.
Note: Various types of energy can fuel her body. Other than the copious amounts of food that she tends to consume, solar energy and nuclear energy are two examples of what can be used to fuel and energize her body, which allows her to transform.

There have been experiments in the past to understand the effects of other energies but she's mostly blocked those memories out of her mind.

She can still transform with minimal amounts of energy in her system, it is still a defense and survival mechanism built into her DNA, but it is extremely taxing, and just like an adrenaline rush it does eventually end upon Siana feeling safe. This type of transformation ends with Siana falling unconscious.

During lunar and solar eclipses, Siana is forced to transform into her colossal counterpart.

Personality:
Towards most:
Aggressive | Blunt | Brutish | Cautious | Cold | Distancing | Irritable | Rude | Short-fused |Territorial | Untrusting

When it comes to the people she's allowed to be close enough to her she can be:
Caring | Curious | Kind | Loyal | Protective | Naive

Siana is also fearful. Although she tends not to show it she will more often than not be terrified of what others think of her and should they gain a spot within her inner circle, she tends to always be terrified of what she could accidentally do to someone.

She has several insecurities about herself and mental scarring from her past. The betrayals she's felt and been through are one of the most prominent things in her memories.

Interests
Although she may not seem smart right off the bat, for several reasons, Siana enjoys learning about things and reading. She also enjoys the company of small furred animals, she finds it rather calming when she pets them and they accept her.

Siana finds herself interested in action and adventure films but isn't a big fan of Japanese Kaiju / giant monster films.

Mannerisms / Quirks
Siana tends to snarl alot.

She also shuts herself down and off very easily when debating or arguing.

She doesn't like to be wrong.

She has a tendency to huff and growl.

Siana is almost constantly snacking on something or eating.

She has an accent.

Her English is a little broken

Born on a secluded island that is part of a belt of several small tribal islands residing right in the middle of the Pacific ocean Siana grew up with only her father to watch after her. Her mother had been an archaeologist and anthropologist, Doctor Elena Lykis, who had been fascinated with this unique set of islands in the middle of the ocean.

Siana's mother had made it her life's goal to learn about these people and their way of life. It took years for her to gain the funding and all the governmental approvals to go on and study these people but once she did, she had been ecstatic. Elena immediately set course for the islands with an extremely small team of two others.

The natives hadn't been accepting of their arrival, 'The Outsiders' as they liked to call them.
It had been rough to start but as both parties learned more from the other, both sides eventually came to the conclusion that there was not threat. The Outsiders had been accepted for the most part and slowly, the curious minds grew to learn more about these lands and their people.

Elena never left the island where they had been accepted, she had visited the other isles for research purposes but she always came back. The two members of her team had come and gone several times, the reasons for their trips varying from personal to work related.

It was in the third year of her research where Elena met Gidkai, A man that was part of the tribe's warrior clan. He was to wed soon, but hadn't found a suitor. Like those fantastical, unrealistic moments in children's fairy-tales, the two, quite literally, stumbled into each other. Elena had been studying some of the local flora and fauna when she was almost attacked by a local, highly venomous snake. Gidkai had helped her stay out of harm's way, it was in that moment that the fairy-tale romance erupted between the two.

Spending enough time to have learned the language, way of life, customs and rituals of these people, Elena had been engulfed by their culture and was soon fully accepted by the people.

Gidkai and Elena married, starting a life together immediately after. Their first child was on the way and it was foretold that their son would grow to be one of the finest warriors to be gifted by the clan's blessing.

In her studies Elena had learned that the warriors of the island had a genetic mutation that allowed them to achieve feats beyond those of any other human. It was a specific genome that was somehow tied into the geographical location of where they were. A mutation that dated back to the first humans to settle on that very island, a revolutionary discovery she had kept from her colleagues. Nature had its way, its reasons and Elena did not want to be the person to destroy that balance.

Their child arrived in the dead of night, beneath the eclipsing moon, a sign that the priests and elders were not fond of. 'There will be darkness and death.' was the last thing the couple heard before Elena went into labour. It had been a long and grueling process; strenuous on the woman without the aid of modern medicine. After sixteen hours of labour their child was born in the brisk morning. The prophecy had been wrong, Elena and Gidkai's child was not a boy, but a girl, a small frail looking child that did not hold any signs of the great warrior they were expecting.

The elders named the child Siana and after taking in the beauty of her daughter Elena passed away.

The mother had been the foreseen death and Gidkai would suffer through the darkness. Everything about Siana had gone against what was known to these people. Members of the warrior clan never birthed daughters, the children never came at night, let alone under the darkness of an eclipsed moon, there had never been a death in the birth of a warrior clan member. The undefeated, brave, leader was given an ultimatum; to remove the child from the island or to go into exile with her.

The rules were strict and Gidkai would not allow his daughter to be left to the animals. No tribesman or woman would be allowed to see them again. Gidkai's title would be taken from him and they were to live a solitary life away from the tribe, strictly left to fend for themselves. Neither was allowed to step foot on the island.

After burying Elena the man and his infant daughter disappeared.

Gidkai had built a home for them on a small, luscious island, far enough away that the others wouldn't be able to see them or hear them, they would be easy to forget. It was on this small piece of land that he would raise his daughter, teach her the ways of their former people, how to hunt, survive and how to fight. He would teach her about what she was capable of and Siana would learn, through several failures.

Upon maturation, roughly by the age of fifteen; for the first time, Siana would get a chance to see and meet a member of the tribe. An elder priest stepped upon their forbidden shore. The two human inhabitants keeping their distance so not to break any rules.
There had been a warning for the eclipsed child. Siana was simply told to choose wisely before her destiny was sealed. Neither father nor daughter could make sense of this prophecy and over time, their confusion, worries and fear grew. They had yet to find an answer to the cryptic statement, and Siana knew that it was driving her father mad. He had grown cautious of everything, he kept close to her and he made sure that she always made the right choice.

It was on Siana's seventeenth birthday that her life would change forever.

The day started off normal, she awoke and had breakfast with her father, they trained then hunted. In the evening after their mid-day rest he approached her with a gift. Gidkai had crafted her a bracelet. A finely braided piece with small shells and rocks. Tied within the design was a ring her mother always wore, it had been a gift from Siana's grandmother, Elena's mother.

Thankful for what she was given and the importance it held as the only thing she had from her mother, Siana stored it away in her room. She hadn't wanted to dirty it before the days work was over. Her father had told her no more work would be done and that it was time to celebrate her coming into womanhood. They drank together and sang, eventually settling to watch the sun fade into the horizon.

The explosion came in the middle of the night. Something large had collided with the calm surface of the water. It sent a torrent down upon their hut, like a tropical storm. Both startled awake. Gidkai attempted to convince Siana to move further inland, to remain hidden within the trees, she argued but he did not allow her to do anything as he armed himself. Screaming at her to run she yelled back with tears in her eyes until her father forced her to retreat. Siana knew there was no point in arguing, she had seen the rage in his eyes. Doing as she was told she ran.

Loud terrifying noises came from the sky, but she could not see anything. Another explosion followed, the entirety of the island trembling. She could hear her father's aggressive roars, his war cries and battle calls. Siana continued to run. The next explosion was followed by bright, blinding fire, it was enough to send her crashing to the ground. Her heart raced as fear began to crawl across every part of her being.

The memory of her first transformation is a blur but over the years Siana has managed to compile an idea of what it must've been like using the knowledge of her later changes. She can remember the pain vividly. She can also recall instances that took place on that fateful night. Something colliding into her form, destroying several of the metal birds, being shot at. Her father's corpse sprawled on the sand, holes throughout his whole body, blood...there had been so much blood that the sand was stained red. Siana can recall taking his corpse to the tribe, her mother had been buried there, all their terrified faces staring up at her...the monstrosity she had somehow become. She had left them, not wanting to gaze or feel such fear.

Her most recent memories are distant, dark and blocked off. The pain of those memories is still there, but Siana avoids lingering on those thoughts, the possibility of spiraling down into that darkness terrifies her.

She currently resides on the outskirts of Latro. On a rather large, secluded private property. It is densely forested with a decent sized cabin resting atop a cliff.

Extra
She has a serial code tattooed across the upper side of her right rib-cage. It reads OUS - 016 - ET.

There is a skunk that lives on the property that tends to follow her around. Siana calls him Terrance.

She still wears the bracelet her father made for her. It helps her stay calm and maintain control of herself.

So sorry for not getting to throughly reviewing this sooner, she looks awesome!

Nah. I meant more like who's gonna RP the convention or are we timeskipping it?

I think we can take the reigns for the most part, I guess. It was my idea to have a conference in the first place =P

May just have Bethany show up soon anyway. But I just posted So I'll wait for my next turn

Hey, um, instead of fishing for my character sheet, can I just...post my half-monster's weakness here?

Although twice the monster can look quite intimidating, keep in mind that So-Rae is about as capable as a human that can fly about nine miles an hour. He doesn't have any physical strengths, and although So is the only one with a physical form, he's just as vulnerable to weaponry as any normal human. Even worse, he has no fighting skills; he's a pacifist, so he's screwed when cornered.
