The Earth was in ruins.

Due to centuries of human recklessness and overpopulation, the humanity was forced to begin large cylindrical habitats known as "exohabitats," which are referred to as "colonies" when in groups five of which were placed around the five Lagrangian points, wherein the experienced gravitational force is identical to that on Earth's surface. The first ten exohabitats, known as the "Pioneers" or "Alpha Series" exohabitats, were designed primarily as command/communication (or "CC") centers, acting as governments, a central transport hub, and architects for the later exohabitats.

And how did they build these? By using the powerful mobile suits and mobile workers.

In time, scientists discovered the power of terraforming, eventually terraforming Mars and the dwarf planet Ceres on the edge of the habitable zone. Human colonies were established, ruled by the same United Earth Federation that governed the remainder of the Earth's population as well as the population of the Colonies. Mars and Ceres remained sparsely populated until the fateful day almost two hundred years later when their atmospheres were capable of supporting human life- the day when scientist on Earth discovered a process they called "paidoterraforming"- the ability to return an industrialized and/or urbanized area back to how it was before human interference. With this technique, the Earth was revitalized as it became the center of all humanity one more, with four great superpowers coming into being- the American Union, the African Federation, the Eurasian Empire, and the Oceanic Confederation.

With the Colonies swearing allegiance to one of the four nations, the Ten Years War began and almost destroyed the various Colonies along with the destruction of various Exohabitats. Only with the invention of the Gundam mobile suit did the war come to an end. The great and vast destruction brought about the creation of the Earth Federation, a galactic government to govern all of humanity. While the four nations were given their sovereignty, they soon carved up Mars, Ceres, and the Colonies into quadrants, a solution that worked for the time as a hundred years passed.

The Empire rules its territory with an iron first- a strong shadow supporter of the use of child labor in interplanetary industry. The strongest of the four supernations, many believe that the ruler of the Eurasian Empire- Emperor Vladimir Rebani- is the only one that could threaten the governance of the United Federation and succeed- the man having outspoken multiple times against the galactic government, outside of an intergalactic supreme court system. In fact, many believed that the Emperor was planning to declare war one the Earth Federation and- utilizing the near-zealot level of loyalty and patriotism to the Empire.

However, the four supernations were not the only players in play. Some civilizations had continued to survive- namely the United Kingdom, France, Japan, Israel, and China among less than ten others (the former United States existed as a primary state of the American Union, and Russia the heart of the Empire)- that controlled their ancient territory on Earth although their population was mostly settled in Colonies. These were simply referred to as the "colonial nations." And, for reasons simple, the Vatican was allowed to remain as an independent micronation, serving primarily as an arbitrator between other nations.

Now, in the Imperial Quadrant of Mars, the Sirius Star Security Corporation hosts the Second Security Squadron, which is split into four divisions. In the Fourth Division, one finds child slaves- many of whom are implanted with various pieces of biotechnology- that work with Mobile Workers as well as individual security.

To survive in the Fourth Division, most of the children- many of whom are orphans "rescued" by the company- were required to undergo an operation to have a series of microchips and devices known as the Alaya-Vijnana System implanted into their spinal column. The operation only succeeded between fifty and seventy-five percent of the time, and could only be performed on prepubescent children. If the operation was successful, the Alaya-Vijnana System would create a pseudo-brain lobe in the pilot's body using nanomachines, allowing the pilot's brain to directly process mobile suit data fed through the physical connection. As the pseudo-brain lobe also governs spatial awareness, the pilot's spatial awareness is enhanced. The system also allowed pilot (even illiterate ones) to operate a mobile weapon without requiring instructions or reading a manual. Those who successfully underwent the operation would be whisked away to be trained in using mobile weapons.

However, failure lead to a few different failures. If the operation failed, the subject could request the operation done a second time depending on why it failed. Those who were found incompatible with the Alaya-Vijana System were split between doing utility services (farming, janitorial, manufacturing, etc), and mechanical services (mobile weapon repair, security, facility maintenance, etc). This was also the case for those who failed and suffered no serious side-effects. However, the most common side-effects was that individuals would become paralyzed in at least one limb, which would be amputated and replaced with a prosthetic before adding them to the individuals running utility services.

Those who had any worse side-effects that they couldn't recover from were silently euthanized by order of the company's administrators.

One of those who managed to survive the procedure was Auric Ulises, one of the older members of the Fourth Division and one of the team leaders for the mobile weapons. Auric was one of the first to be implanted with the new model of Alaya-Vijana System wherein the "Whiskers" were no more than upraised bumps on the spinal column- visible but not as drastic as the older model's. With these, the control attachments could be magnetically attached outside of the clothes and thin coveralls the pilots were given as opposed to having to strip down to attach their whiskers to the cockpit. Although it seemed less harmful than its predecessor post-surgery, there were no true studies performed regarding the effects had on those subject to the new system after the surgery, aside from the fact that many of the same surgical side-effects continued despite the fact that this new system had a notably higher success rate than it's predecessor, meaning that- regardless of the surgery's outcome- the patient had a much better chance of surviving.

Auric Ulises was found an orphan, surviving on the street of some small town in the Imperial Quadrant of Mars. He was- as far as the members of the Fourth Division were concerned- well-educated, having attended a public school in that small town where he had survived. He was literate, which was a scarce skill given that, most of the time, the members of the Fourth Division were taken before they learn such and taught to work the fields before the time came to be operated on. Snatched from the streets when he was nine or so years old, he had already discovered a penchant for reading and learning, which the officials among the Fourth Division had always considered a threat to their chokehold on the illiterate and seemingly unknowing workers of the Fourth Division- their free labor.

On multiple occasions, Auric- by now known as "Professor" in manners both of adoration and scorn- attempted to smuggle in books and supplies with which to teach and better their possibilities. And, despite the varying degrees attempt each success brought, every attempt was found out and ended with Auric being beaten by members of the other divisions, who saw the children as less-than-human anyway. The worst of these beating ended with a knife cutting his lip and the side of his face, leaving a long scar.

At the age of twenty, just a few days after his birthday, he and his troops were told to use their mobile workers- which were equipped with flatbeds as opposed to their usually 30mm guns as they departed with a exploratory party to tap some areas for mining potential. They were supposed to get this done quickly since they needed to appear nice and good for some sort of high-class client that was going to see about hiring them as an escort service. At the moment, they weren't too far from the main instillation, which had been built over an old Earth Federation facility from the Ten Year's War. It was thought that most of the facility that had been destroyed, the remainder being what was reclaimed by the Sirius Star Security Corporation.

Well, it turned out that they were wrong.

As the mining team attempted to extract core samples, a large thud was heard, the drill having reached some kind of refined metal they couldn't pierce through with a light core extractor. Being the seniormost member there, Auric decided that should use their tools to try and clear away some of the rock and dirt to see if they could find an entrance. Half an hour later, two of the children found what appeared to be a service entrance, the group grabbing their flashlights as a few remained to watch the area in the mobile workers. Auric, descending the stairway first looked around. It was a large maintenance shaft- with enough room to bring down some supplies.

When he gained some solid footing, he looked around- it appeared as if her was on some kind of catwalk. Heading one way and walking through a door, as it appeared that the maintenance hatch exited through some form of observation deck before reaching the main catwalk, the boy almost fell backwards as he saw what were undeniably mobile suits of some sort, although they didn't look like any kind of mobile suit that he had ever heard of. He asked the others to try and find a way to restore power to the facility, walking over to the terminal of the nearest one, the small label on the console reading, in faded text, "Bay I- Gundam 'Zephyrantes,' RX78-GP01." Instantly, Auric felt some sort of connection with the suit.

As the lights and power flashed on, he had a feeling that they had found the means to their freedom- it was time to keep a secret that could be their salvation.

Aki stretched as he exited his mobile worker after the kids found the entrance. He silently followed Professor down the shaft along with a few other kids in their group. Aki was dressed in black cargo pants and a dark grey muscle shirt, white scarred welts peeking from under the shirt wrapping over his shoulders and upper arms, almost caressing his skin. Memories of the times he protected Zuki from the free kids and adults by sabotaging their mobile workers programming which caused incidents out in the field.

His favorite having been leaving group 1 stranded 10 miles from base with no communications or GPS forcing them to walk all the way back. In efforts to get Aki to confess to the incidents and the mutilation of one of the free kids who tongue had been cut out and hands shattered, they whipped him. Unfortunately for them Aki didn't care and never admitted to anything. Being one of their best mobile worker pilots and programmer they eventually gave up and slowly left Zuki alone. Aki didn't care for much except Zuki and the Professor. He did anything the Professor wanted and he did everything to keep Zuki safe.

Once inside the underground compound they found something that looked like mobile suits, except different. He passed the professor to one that looked like it had wings, he read the inscription, Strike Freedom. He blinked, the name rang somewhere deep inside him.

"What are these Professor?" he asked softly, looking up at the mobile suit in front of him, somewhat in awe.

"They're mobile suits, right? They aren't any design I am familiar with," he muttered softly, glancing over the third one next to him and then the first one in front of the Professor.

What had they found? How much were they worth? Did they still function? A hundred questions ran through his mind.

Mikazuki got out of his mobile worker and followed Auric and Aki into the shaft. They descended down into it and soon came upon three mobile suits.

Mikazuki was now fourteen years old. He first arrived at the military corporation at the young age of six. His father had walked out on his mother before he was born, and then his mother died when Mikazuki was five years old. He became an orphaned and a space rat. Soon being "saved" by the corporation. He became a slave, just some human debris for the military company. Over the eight years Mikazuki had been there he had been beaten and berated plenty of times. Though he was lucky because someone always watched out for him and made sure he was okay. That person was Aki. Aki was assigned to show Mikazuki how things worked around the complex when Mikazuki first arrived. At first the two not really liking each other, but soon enough became almost inseparable. Mikazuki looks up to Aki as an older brother and will follow him anywhere. Another person who always helped and watched out for Mikazuki was Auric also known as "the Professor". From the first day Mikazuki was there he started to learn how to read and write from Auric, Auric also helped out with a lot of other things. He is another Person who Mikazuki will follow and do anything for.

While Mikazuki was at the military company he had the Alayna-vijnana system implanted in him three times. Three times he had the surgery done and the second time he did the surgery he almost didn't survive. He did survive though and for his age group became about the best soldier the company had. He trained hard with the mobile workers with hand to hand fighting and with guns. He has become a very important soldier for the fourth group of the company.

When the group reached the bottom of the shaft they came up three huge mobile suits. The professor walked up to the first one, while Aki walked up to the second one. Mikazuki walked up to the third one. There was some lettering on it "Gundam Qu... um Quantra. Oh it says Gundam Qunatra." Mikazuki looked over at Auric and Aki and then at the group of kids behind them. "So you two what do we do with these?"

"I heard about these, but I didn't think they still existed. These are Gundams, really powerful mobile suits. They were first made for the Ten Year's War, but every model of Gundam is unique, unlike mass-produced the Graze models that a lot of security companies use. Each has a different specialty or purpose, I guess you could say. Some are designed for close quarters combat, some were designed to dominate a battlefield from the back lines before charging in with blade in hand, others go so fast they leave afterimages, and some say a few models were able to exit and reenter planetary atmospheres with a variant of nanolaminate armor. But, in the end, the question is when, if not if, we can use these. According to this readout the terminal is giving me, all three of these mobile suits are missing their cockpits. So unless we find a replacement for those cockpits, the mobile suits can be used. Can we use a cockpit from a mobile worker? Maybe, since they're the same size due to standardization and all that. Maybe the problem would be interface programming? I wouldn't know, I'm not the best at it. The point is, we may have a chance to free ourselves. But... we need more people."

He then sighed, tired of the small soliloquy he had given before walking back, wiping some dust off of of a nearby seat before sitting down, entering some form of ease as he scratched at his chin. His mind raced a little, needing a bit of a rest. The one side-effect he had had from all those beatings was some back pain, and as such he needed to sit a little when it flared up. Popping his neck with a sigh, he was just thankful he couldn't experience such when in a mobile suit. He was told the pain would ebb away eventually, but for now it was a few pain pills in the morning to keep it down.

Aki listened and studied the gundams before him. He had heard whispers of these mobiles suits from some of the adults as they tried to scare the younger free kids about old monsters. As the professor sat down he walked over to the terminal and tapped the screen looking at the read out. He tapped again and took a sharp intake of breath at the coding that spewed before him, his eyes scanning the screen. He had never seen coding like this but after studying it for a few moments he think he understood it. He tested his theory and tapped the screen again and sure enough the coding made sense now.

"The entire fourth group would follow you Professor and so would group 2 and 3. We out number group 1," he told the slightly older boy as he left the terminal and walked over to the catwalk in front of Strike Freedom.

He approached the gundam and pulled out his tablet from his cargo pocket, he jumped onto the gundam and sat down on the frame where the cockpit should be and started sorting through the wires until he found the ones he wanted, luckily they fit the port of his tablet. His screen came to life and more coding filled the screen.

Aki shifted through the coding, tapping here and there, then turned his head back towards the head of the gundam because for a moment he thought the machine was watching him. He rolled his shoulders and went back to the tablet, downing the coding of the machine into his mind.

"Alaya-Vijana System....it works on these gundam frames," he finally stated loudly so Professor could hear him, looking up from the screen at Professor.

"There are some cockpits in the scrape pile, we could use those. I entered the dimension into the physical layout, they fit with some modifications. They will need fuel too for the thrusters, this one still has ammo and something called a saber...some sort of swords."

Aki put the tablet in his lap and looked up at the machine's eyes, that sensation of it watching him still making his skin crawl, he reached out a hand and touched the machine, it was cool to his touch, smooth under the layer of dust.

"Strike Freedom huh?" He said softly so no one could hear him the other kids were running around exploring and making a lot of noise, "well, what if you and I strike for freedom?"

Again that sensation increased almost like it was answering him and he had to look away. He turned off the tablet, disconnected and put the tablet in his pocket again. He went to the Zuki and Professor.

"The other two look similar so I am going to guess the cockpits from the scrapped mobile workers should fit them as well," he told the professor turning his cold green eyes to study him, "what do you want me to do?"

"A gundam huh?" Mikazuki studied his gundam, it was amazing he had never seen anything like these before. Professor was right though thy could use these to free themselves from the first groups grip. "So will the three of us pilot these then?" Mikazuki had a smirk on his face. This gundam looked powerful and to finally have something hat could give them their freedom, well that would be incredible.

Mikazuki still studying his gundam looking at the machine up and down. The thing that really caught his eye was the giant sword it wielded.

Princess Amelia sat at her desk looking over a variety of papers that covered the top of it. She sighed rubbing her eyes for a moment. She was sure she was ready for the conference coming up on Colony 4 at the Earth's outer sphere. She had even hired a security team from the fourth economic block of Mars, Sirius Star Security Corporation. Yes, they used children slaves but she wanted to show these children that she was going to help them. Give them hope. They weren't leaving for a few days yet.

She still felt like she had so much to do. She was preparing her speech, evidence she had spent years collecting, as well as ensuring funds for her trip and sponsors. Was it enough? Could she start the path to getting these children their freedom and improving the lives of the lower working classes? Out of all the conferences she had spoke at this was the moment important one. Here were leaders of the economic blocks, powerful businessmen and military corporation. People who could help her finally make a difference those that decided her ideals were justified.

She needed to relieve some stress. She stood up and turned towards her personal bodyguard, "up for some sparring Ro?"

The moment Princess Amelia had stood up, Rollo Kisaragi smoothly arranged the papers on her desks in neat little stacks. He didn't need to be told, having grown up as her personal guard. His life has been modeled to be her sword and her shield, or sometimes her nanny and nurse.

Now, however, it calls for a different duty.

"I won't say no to that." he smiled warmly but his gray eyes had a playful glint to them behind his silver-framed glasses. He looked at the watch on his wrist; a family heirloom. "But how about...I give you one minute to knock my glasses off?"

While it wasn't uncommon for the two to spar, Rollo was fond of constantly challenging the princess. She seemed to always be ready to meet expectations and then exceed them. "One minute. Because you really must get that speech done, among other things."

He took off his uniform blazer and carefully laid it on the desk, covering the documents. With a nod to Amelia, he positioned himself across her, his stance at the ready. "One minute...starts now."

She blinked at his challenged before smiling unbutton the top of her white long sleeve button down shirt, the blazer long discarded on her chair, her heels laying on the floor under the desk. She watched him prepare himself as he spoke, carefully she stood up incase he was tricking her.

When he said start she was already leaping over the desk at him, adjusting her weight to clear the desk and land just before him, her hand snapping out at his face, she knew he would be ready for this, so as her right hand headed for his face, she used that same momentum to twist her body bring her leg forward to sweep him hopefully off his feet. Should she succeed in knocking him down her next move would be to use that forward momentum and dropped on top of him, straddling him and reaching of the glasses again.

He sighed, looking at the two of them. Aki had that look on his face, one that had rubbed out onto Zuki, and it meant that- no matter what- he couldn't talk them out of whatever harebrained scheme they had formulated involving these Gundams. Rubbing the back of his neck, he stood up, walking over to Zephyrantes' status console. It said that it's "Full Burnern" attachments were prepared and able to be reattached to the Gundam whenever he was ready to input the command. Looking into the schematic layout he sighed, popping his neck.

"We can put in cockpits from the space model mobile weapons. They're the exact same size as the cockpit for the Gundam would've been, have better manual commands, and can take a better beating. Besides, from what I heard when I was free, the coding for Gundams is rather flexible- that's mostly like why it can accept Alaya-Vijnana input as well as manual controls. I'm guessing this means I'm finally going to have to teach you two how to fight with swords. Give the order... time to hijack some cockpits. Leave some people here- some of the more mechanically-minded so they can do repairs. Other than that, spread the word. The rest of us better head back to the base."

Fifty-nine seconds.

A knock on the door stole Rollo's attention and with a swipe of his own arm, he attempted to block the princess' incoming attack. His glasses clattered on the floor but from whose movement, it was not clear. "Call it a draw?" he chuckled and then added to the door, "One moment, please."

He picked up his glasses from where he heard them fall and put on his blazer. With a hand, he fixed his hair and opened the door. Rollo spoke with the one sent to inform them of the ship's descent in several minutes. He turned to relay the message to the princess.

"Let's get your paperwork in order, Amelia." He said, picking up one of the stacks of papers on her desk.

Amelia pouted for a second, stuck out her tongue but consented returning to her desk and flopped down on the chair while Ro figured out who was at the door.

When he returned to her, he shoved the papers back at her. She gave him a playful growl but took the papers from him.

"The ship is early," she commented, "we don't leave for the fourth division for a couple more days."

The ship had payment for the fourth division, a variety of supplied that had been agreed upon instead of money in exchange to taking her to the colony 4.

"Have the supplies sent to Sirius, I think they would appreciate their payment early," she decided and went back to her speech.

Aki nodded his head as Professor spoke, "the coding I just read on Strike Freedom was pretty 'loose', however getting three space mobile suit cockpits is going to be harder. There are four for scraps right now but the buyer for the parts is coming tomorrow. We would have to sneak them here tonight and you better have one hell of a story for the buyer since you are in charge of that job, Professor."

He suddenly remembered something, "how we going to get all this done? That activist woman is coming in like two days. With preparations going on, missing kids is going to be noticed by group 1."

Aki wasn't sure how this would work, lot of work for two different jobs and one of them a secret.

"I can get the AV system coding down tonight if we can at least get the cockpits' mainframes installed tonight."

Mikazuki smirked as he looked over at Aki and Auric "don't worry I've practice with some swords before. We do have a couple back at the base and I've trained with them a decent amount already."

He looked back at the mobile suit and a strange sensation started taking over his body. He wasn't exactly sure what it was, but it felt as if he and the mobile suit were connecting on some level, but that's just crazy talk right? He turns his attention back to Aki and the professor. "Well me and some of the younger kids can get these cockpits in these suits tonight no problem. As long as someone can get them here then we can definitely put them in."

Ro gave Amelia a short bow and shifted away from the desk so his conversation on the radio wouldn't disrupt her. He radio the security command center for the palace and deliver her orders, and ensured there would be enough protection going with the cargo to keep it from being stolen enroute. He knew there were people who didn't want Amelia going to the conference and he was going to ensure she made it.

Once that was finished he walked back towards Amelia who was busy typing away on her desk glass surface which was her keyboard and computer. After a few hours she leaned back stretching her hands over her head.

"FINISHED!" she exclaimed happily turning to look at Ro with a smile, "can you proofread please?"

He chuckled and came around the desk. She always had him check her speeches and memos for errors and his opinion. Even though her computer could give her a full analysis on her speech, she always prefer a human touch as she called it. Amelia stood up and waved her hand for him to sit while reading. He didn't like it but she wouldn't give in until he did. He sat tapping the screen to scroll through her speech. She hovered over his shoulder.

He sighed and turned his head and gave her a look, she laughed and moved to sit at the window seat behind the desk looking out over the gardens of the palace.

"I can't wait to get out of here," she said softly, "not just for the conference but just off Mars in general. Maybe we could visit Earth afterwards. I would love to see my mom."

"I think visiting Earth could be arrange and speaking of your mother you have a video call with them in 10 minutes," Ro replied.

"With them or him?" she asked tartly, meaning her father.

Ro shrugged, "The memo merely said a video call with your parents. Likely your mother will be first then your father."

"Like always," she muttered, she tapped the glass window and a light blue screen pulled up, she tapped and dailed her parent's number, she wanted it over with.

"Amelia!" Ro said standing up to be out of view from her parents.

She grinned at him, "oh come on! Even they know you aren't prim and proper all the time. How many times did they not stop us arguing when we were younger?"

Ro, "we were children and you were always trying to do something un-ladylike or be in places you weren't support to be. Then you would drag me with you. Those arguments were me trying to stop you. You know all the trouble you got me in?"

Amelia laughed as the call continued to ring, "A lot but I was always in as much trouble, beside admit it, you had fun."

He turned away instead of answering which made her laugh more then the screen beeped, she turned towards it, "MOM!"

Amelia beamed at her mother who looked annoyed, "Our meeting isn't scheduled for almost ten minutes Meli."

"Mom, don't call me that! I am not five. How are you?"

"I would be better if you weren't going to that conference. Your father has been dealing with phone calls, leaders, everything because of this mess you are making."

Amelia bristled, "it isn't a mess. I am helping people who have no one to speak for them."

"Meli, this is the way things are. You are trying to change the natural order. You are causing a lot of trouble for your father. Breaking relationships he had spent years developing all because you want to play politics instead of actually doing politics. You-"

Amelia had been about to say something when her father got on screen red in anger, "Do you know what you have done!? The prime ministers of section 2 and 3 of Ceres contacted me today and cut off all ties. No trade! No negotiation! NOTHING! Do you understand the millions I have just lost because of YOU! I forbid you from going to that conference!!"

Amelia straighten her spine, "Ceres 2 and 3 have the worse conditions for children slaves. They rather let them die then waste money on food and medicine."

"They are overpopulated anyways, who cares if a few brats have to die for progress. Without sacrifice there can be no growth!"

Amelia stood up from the chair and stared at her father in the screen, "WHO CARES? I CARE!! THEY ARE INNOCENT CHILDREN FORCED INTO SLAVERY TO DO BACK BREAKING WORK FOR LAZY ARROGANT BASTARDS LIKE YOU WHO ONLY WANT TO REAP THE BENEFITS AND WILL STEP ON ANYONE WHO GETS IN THEIR WAY!"

She moved closer to the screen her gold hazel eyes intense, "I will go to that conference. I will win freedom for those children. I will win better conditions for mid and low class workers. I will bring people like you to heel. Sacrifice for growth should mean something. Death for progress should be an honor not a punishment. And I, Amelia Rebani of Eurasia, will do everything I can to bring justice even if it costs me my life!"

She tapped the screen disconnecting the call and stood shaking in anger. Ro came up behind her, hands on her shoulders, she turned and hide her face in his chest, crying softly. He patted her back and stroked her hair until she calm down. Amelia pulled away and looked up at Ro.

"The cargo has been shipped correct?"

Ro nodded.

"Good, now we have to go before my father gives order to put me under house arrest."

Ro cursed and hurried to the desk scooping up all the papers and shoving them into a thin binder then a messenger bag throwing it over his shoulder. He grabbed Amelia's hand and pulled her out of the hallway.

"STOP!! Commander Rollo Kisaragi! Princess Amelia!" a voice yelled at the end of the hall as guards poured towards them, "Princess your father had ordered you to be confined to your rooms!"

Ro and Amelia ran down the fall as orders for their weapons to be set to stun echoed behind them. Luckily they had spend their first years here exploring the palace. They knew every nook and cranny. They bursted through rooms, turned tight corners, constantly coming into contact with guards.

"It's the damn cameras," Ro cursed glancing at one in the hallway, "they are following our moves. We'll never get out."

"Screw that," Amelia said and this time bolted forward forcing Ro to follow, she dive into a room and went straight for the window, she jerked it open and looked down at the trees below.

They climbed out of the window as the room filled with guards and jumped into the trees below. Amelia gasped as the branch hit her in the chest and pushed the air from her lungs. They hurried down the tree and raced through the garden. Finally they bolted over the wall and away from the palace.

[fieldbox=Auric Ulises, white, solid, 12, book antiqua]
With a sigh, Auric rubbed his eyes before standing up and popping his neck, sighing. "You leave the absences to me- I'm a team leader, remember? Part of that means if I say you guys are on perimeter duty they'll but it so long as you keep some of the mobile workers moving and radio in every one in a while. Either way, it looks like they best order to fix these thing would be Zephyrantes, Quanta, and then Freedom given their levels of complexity. I want Zephyrantes' circuits to be warm and ready when I come back with the cockpits around midnight. Aki, you stay here, you're in charge and you need to get that service lift up and running so we can actually get the cockpits inside. Zuki, you work in the storage yard at the base, so we'll need your key card to get the cockpits before they become scrap. Now, keep everything running smooth while Zuki and I get the cockpits."

Auric then began to make his way back up the stairs, relaying his plans to the others before stepping in the cockpit of his mobile worker, radioing in that he had established an outer perimeter team before returning to the base.
[/fieldbox]

Aki nodded at Auric and started giving orders to the younger kids staying behind. The next hours would be spent fixing the lifts and other mechanical doors throughout the hanger. He sent two teams of two to explore the rest of the underground facility and map it out and see if there was anything useful. He had other kids arranging and taking inventory of tools and spar parts in the hanger. Once everything was organized he focused on the Gundams.

Auric was right about the complexity of the Gundams. Zephyrantes had a complex but rather straight forward frame. He easily followed the coding and decoded any other complicated areas. He ensured the current AV system would be compatible with the Gundam, updating the coding within the Gundam's mainframe. He noticed the limiter setting and was puzzled for a moment. Mobile workers and mobile suits didn't have limiters. He studying the coding and looked up at the Gundam.

"No way," he said softly turning back to the limiter coding and adjusted it, "ok that shouldn't fry Professor's brain but still leave it pretty open, man that's gonna hurt," he muttered to himself.

He was stopped a few times to answer questions and help the other kids. The kids who had been set to explore the facility came back with reports of weapons, rations, space suits, tools, medical supplies, and the like. He ordered them to take an inventory then grabbed team B who were finished with inventory inside the hanger and move everything to the storage rooms closest to the hanger so it would be easy access.

Once Zephyrantes was finished he shifted to Quanta which after realizing it was an upgraded model from another model and figuring out the base he was able to get the mainframe up and running. He adjusted the limiter restricting Zuki more then Auric. The kid was already a loose cannon he didn't need the kid paralyzing himself in the process. The kid would have better control over the Gundam then his mobile worker but he wouldn't feel the pain Auric was going to feel when he first connects.

Last was Strike Freedom, it was already past 2 in the morning and he needed a break. His head and eyes were really hurting from the coding. He had the first two finish and if Quanta was complex he didn't want to imagine Strike Freedom's mainframe. The cockpits should be on their way at this point so he had time to do Strike Freedom later.

Aki went to check out the supplies found in the facility then walked the facility with one of the explorer kids who pointed things out to him. He had ordered the bunk rooms to be cleaned earlier in the evening and he peeked in on the kids taking naps before continuing to the main command center. He sent the kid back to the hanger with orders to rotate the kids sleeping with kids that had been working.

He was curious about this location so he started fiddling with the command center computer trying to get it up and running. He directed the power from the hanger that he gotten up and running after finding the main power grid after Auric left. The entire place was run by solar power and had enough juice stored up over the years to work for six months straight. He had the solar panel cleans and repaired as well.

The main computer screen flickered to life with a huge logo he had never seen. "OZ?" he muttered confused and starting shifting through the computer's databank.

After he continued to go through the information he became more and more stunned. OZ was from a thousand years ago, when people first lived in space and Gundams first came into existent. He read through the first Gundams model and realized how primitive they were compared to the ones now in the hanger. He read about the Zero System which was the first version of the AV system being used now. He read the reports about the first Gundam pilots. When Auric and Zuki returned to the hanger they would have found Aki in the command center pouring over the information.

Mikazuki stood and listened to the professors orders. He wanted Aki to stay and start to get the mobile suits ready, While Mikazuki himself and Auric would head back to the compound and steal the cockpits that they would use for the mobile suits. "Yeah of course professor I can get us into the storage yard." Mika followed behind Auric out of the building they were in. Mika got back into his own mobile worker and followed Auric back to the military compound. When they arrived they both reported to their compounds leaders and gave him a fake report on what they found out there. Obviously never mentioning anything about the mobile suits that the found.

Mikazuki was getting excited, he couldn't believe that they had found these suits and that he was going to get to pilot one! After they gave their report they both headed for the storage yard. This late at night no one would be in there so it would not be a problem getting what they needed. Mikazuki took a quick look around before using his key card to get them into the storage yard. From there Mikazuki took Auric to where the cockpits were being held. They were going to be trashed in the morning so they needed to get them now. Mikazuk and Auric along with a few other kids got the cockpits loaded onto mobile workers that had truck beds on them and made sure that they were loaded up and ready to go back to where the mobile suits were. "Okay Professor I think were all good to head back there now. We better get out of here soon before someone sees us."

Amelia and Ro raced through the city and back alleys to avoid the guards after them. It seemed they would continue chasing them even in the city. Luckily the city was something else they had explored over the years. Amelia had a feeling this would happened so she had prepared for just this. She hadn't told Ro instead he was questioned, he could answer honestly he had no idea. She lead him through alleys until they arrived at a small shop. She banged on the back door and an older woman opened it. Seeing them she drew them in and locked the door behind them.

"Amelia?" Ro asked warily.

"It's ok. This is Suz'n. She is a friend," Amelia assured him as they walked through the small storage room following the older woman.

"Amelia everything you asked me to hold on to is here," Suz'n said opened a trap door after pushing crates out of the way.

The woman fished out two backpacks and handed them to Amelia. Amelia smiled and handed the black one to Ro and held onto the dark grey one.

"Amelia?" Ro asked again and she sighed.

"I had a feeling my father might try house arrest to keep me from going to the conference. I figured he would wait until the last day so I had planned for us to sneak out the night before, come here, where I stayed clothes and money. We were to use Suz'n shipment truck to get out of the city but that truck doesn't leave for two more days. We can't stay here, they will search everywhere for us."

"I can have the shipment truck leave early, I will make a few calls. You two stay back here until I come to get you," Suz'n said.

Amelia hugged the older woman who hugged her back, "I will get you to the fourth district don't worry."

"Thank you so much," Amelia said as the woman left the storage room.

Ro waited for more information, arms crossed with a stern look on his face. Amelia looked at him warily before sitting down on a crate.

"I am sorry I didn't tell you but I wanted you to be able to deny any knowledge of an escape plan in case they questioned you before hand. Or if you got caught after we escaped. You know that there was no way my father was going to let me leave that house in four days."

Ro sighed, "Probably not. You still should have told me."

She shrugged, "It isn't that I don't trust you Ro. I was protecting you."

"That's my job. I could have arrange everything."

"Possibility but it would have be trackable. Ro you would have used normal means, trackable means. No one knows about Suz'n, you didn't even know about her. Nothing can be tracked back to her. This was the safest way."

Ro rubbed his hands together, "you're right. I don't like being left in the dark but I understand. You sure we can trust her?"

"Absolutely. The payment cargo should have arrived already. I doubt my father could have stopped them before they arrived. Now we arrive and we get out of here as soon as possible. My father would know that I hired Sirius. Hopefully he hasn't convince them not to take me."

"He might send guards to capture you there," Ro stated.

"More then likely he will try to find me enroute. That is where Suz'n truck comes in handy. She delivers food to the third and fourth district. Her truck also has a smuggling hole. We will hide in the smuggling hole while the truck delivers food to the third and froth district. At the second to last stop we will switch into a cargo box that has a hidden panel and will be delivered to Sirius. It will take a day to arrive but it's the safest. Anything that goes directly to Sirius will be suspicious."

"And we were going to sneak out the night before? Would we have arrived on time?"

"Of course, remember we were to arrive the day before we would leave the planet. In this case we would have arrived the morning of. Meaning everyone would think we weren't going to arrive and then poof there we are and jump on the ship and then gone!"

Ro shook his head, "what about now?"

"Now we just wing it but follow the same route just arrive a few days early and convince Sirius to leave early. I have money for such a transaction," she replied calmly.

The biggest thing was hoping her father wouldn't interfered, she had purposely ensured the company understood that she was willing and had pay more for the transportation because she excepted them to get her off planet regardless of what happened.

Suz'n returned, "the truck can be here by sunrise, you'll have to wait back here. I will get you two something to eat and some blankets to sleep on. Stay out of sight and quiet."

Amelia smiled, "thank you Suz'n."

The woman returned the smile and left to get them some food and blankets. Amelia stretch and winced rubbing her chest and the bruises she knew she had due to the branch.

"Are you ok?" Ro asked.

"Ya, a little bruised perhaps but nothing serious."

"Are you sure?" Ro asked concerned crouching in front of her taking her hands and studying her face.

"You worry too much."

"That is my job," he chuckled.

They sat in silence then Suz'n returned with sandwiches, water, and chips as well a blankets for them to sleep on, "Eat and get some rest you'll both need it."

"Thank you again" Ro said to the woman who nodded her head obviously not sure if she approved of him.

They ate and then went to sleep.

It wasn't easy, but due to the fact that the distinguished guest's visit had reportedly been pushed back a day things had become easier than usual. He just claimed that they were told to scrap the parts to repair other mobile workers. The First Division workers seemed to buy it and, in no time, they were being lifted into the empty slots of the gundams. As soon as his was inserted, Auric climbed into the cockpit, attching the functionality transmitter magnetically to his implants on top of his clothes. Leaning back into the cockpit, he went to work. It would be a while, but Zephyrantes would still be the easiest to get online.
