My dog, Timmy, passed away over the weekend. He was diagnosed with cancer and survived twice as long as the doctors anticipated. Due to his age surgery wasn't an option. He'd lived a long and glorious life, a "jetsetter" in the words of my brother and mom, having been to almost as many countries I have.

I was able to give him a Japanese Buddhist funeral in Sagamihara city. I was moved by the ceremony and sure he would've enjoyed it. I felt it was a ceremony worthy of the love and memories he gave me over the years. Now, his ashes are at home, our home, where we can continue to look out for each other.

I'm not asking for advice; though I'm still in pain over the loss, I understand it's something that is only natural, and it's such a small thing compared to what he gave to myself and family and my friends. I just wanted to let the Iwaku world know that a good friend has departed, and I miss him so much.

Thank you all, again.

It's been over a week but he continues to get a lot of love and even gifts. Lady friends dropped these flowers off at my office while I was out, but he has them now.

After the flowers... the project management branch gave brownies. I have to say, I'm pretty surprised and overwhelmed at all the love for him especially since it's been more than a week since his passing.

You've done the best you could do for him... Like a funeral? Wow, I don't know many people who would do that for their dog, shows how close you two were.

Though all I can really do is add my sympathies to the others already given.
