He was the prince of the town. Beautiful young man, who knew nothing but innocence. He seemed to trust everyone in his village. The local witch, longed for the prince. She loved and admired him. She wanted him. They met, and fell in love. They were a happy couple, until the priestess in the town called the witch out in front of the town. She proclaimed the witch was using the prince for royalty, and greed. The priestess showed the Prince that the girl was indeed a witch. The prince felt betrayed, and turned against the Witch. He tied her to a cross in the middle of the town. The Priestess sent the witch away, but in all truth, the Priestess loved the prince, and couldn't stand the witch being with him.
