It was many years ago in a land of myth and monster. Two young lovers had found happiness for a short time. The man was a creature of the night (your choice of what he is), the woman was a powerful spellcaster who had achieved eternal youth. However, one day the man had decided it best not to corrupt his lovely maiden by keeping her close to his dark powers and locked himself away. Years passed and it became more dangerous out in the world for him to awaken. The men of the current age could not comprehend such a being as he.
When he finally awoke and crept from his hiding place he found the world to be very different from what he had remembered. He gathered information about what had happened as he slumbered, learning of a great witch hunt having taken place in many areas at different times. His heart sank, believing his lover to be long gone. However one night he caught a familiar scent. Fresh roses, lilies, and caramel.....all the things she had always smelled of.
He had no idea if this was truly the woman he had tried to protect, but he had to see. In his heart he could only plead "Just once more." Little did he know she had always been praying the same. She now lives in the modern world, however she hides from the light of day knowing that only the pale luminescence of the moon would light her way to her beloved again. He had hidden himself from her though she knew not why. All this time she had spent searching and scrying for him with no luck.
The scent of fresh snow and faint spice had greeted her nose as a shadow seemed to follow her. Could it be her prince of darkness? Why did he hide from her? Was it to protect her from himself....or something else?
