Rynu is an ex-slave from a city-state that openly hated elves. Got free after a "terrorist act" on that city, unknown people bombing all and everyone from higher classes, including the dungeon-prison she was. She couldn't save what was left of her mother's corpse, fleed to the next village in one night and found hospitality from what looked like a sky pirate settlement. They taught her how to properly fight, survival in hostile areas and how to cook in the open (and as a proper chef, in case she needed honest money). She got a glimpse of magic scrolls after a wizard of other plane came and take her as an apprentice and someone to hear its (gender undefined) troubles, but she fled again because those "chats" took day and nights straight.
