Is this plausible ?

I've been working on a new world to write about / host a campaign in with my friends but I want to know if any of this sounds stupid or if any part isn't interesting or engaging.
My goal is to create a world full of things that's worth exploring that's very easy to put your own characters in.
If you want to change anything, make any suggestions, or just discuss things, i'd REALLY appreciate it as the people i'd been working with this on abandon it, forcing me to basically start over from scratch.

I question only 2 things:

1. Could Earth really survive THREE more world wars, plus an asteroid impact, a solar flare, and an orbital shift? That seems excessive.

2. Given these disasters, how could enough resources, infrastructure and community be left to coordinate the construction of mega-cities HALF the size of Earth? That's a monumental feat of engineering.

The rest looks good. I'm willing to suspend disbelief on earthworms mutating into giant Tremors gribblies. Stranger things have happened.
