Aradia walked out of the House of Night and sat on a nearby bench in the courtyard. It was around 4 o'clock in the morning-an hour after school let out. She pulled a novel out of her purse and sat it beside her. This was her schedule. She'd eat breakfast at around 6 or 7 at night, well, morning for her. Then she'd go to school from 8:00 p.m. to 3:00 a.m., then at around 4:00, she'd head outside to read. Before opening her book to read, she pulled her mirror out of her purse to look at her reflexion. She looked mostly the same as she had last month when she'd been marked, except, of course, for the perfect cresent moon tattoo in between her eyes on her forehead, signifying that she was a vampire... Well a fledgling. She put the mirror away and opened the book, and just before she started to read, she heard the familiar voice of Loki, the 5th former boy she'd been crushing on since she'd arrived at the house of night.
"Hello, Aradia," he said.
She looked up into his forest green eyes, that were almost covered by his pitch-black shaggy hair. Her cheeks turned pink.
"Hey, Loki," she replied lamely, looking totally flustered.
