What songs give you a hopeful feeling? Maybe just that pick-me-up you need, or even something that gives you a positive outlook in general. Share your songs and reasons why.
The song 'Brave' by Sara Bareilles really gives me a pick me up. I'm not really articulate in real life, and I'm the kind of person who runs from conflicts as well as just take crap from people, staying quiet and just letting things fester inside.
Something like that happened a few months ago, and then coincidentally I just randomly clicked on this song. I had never heard it before. When I did though, I felt like someone was singing it to me. So, I was brave, at least that time anyway, and I stood up for myself.
This is normally what I go to when I want to make myself feel better. The song and the video together are just perfect, because that anime was beautiful to me.
And some other songs:
All My Best Friends are Metalheads - Less Than Jake
Let's Kick it Up - Paul Gordon
Ordinary Day- Great Big Sea
Pretty much anything by Great Big Sea. They have such a fun time with their music that it is hard not to feel positive when listening to them.
Like..how could someone not feel happy listening to this?
Fantasy, Sci-Fi, Alt History, Anything really. It honestly depends on how I'm feeling. I am always up for a good, solid Cyberpunk RP. I'm also up for Crossover RPs.
Fantasy, Magical, Romance, Dystopian, Religious, Post-Apocalyptic, Zombies (but the plot has to consist of more than just mindlessly murdering the undead), Steampunk
For many people, music is everything - all the major events in my life, I have music I can relate to. Whether it be tragedy, love, friendship, loss, or introspection, there is a song / band for everything haha.
Lately, my "hopeful" song is The Light by Disturbed.
Depression is always a darkness looming at the corner of my mind, and this song just... It really, really gets me.
Like an unsung melody The truth is waiting there for you to find it It's not a blight, but a remedy, A clear reminder of how it began Deep inside your memory Turned away as you struggled to find it You heard the call as you walked away A voice of calm from within the silence And for what seemed an eternity You wait and hoping it would call out again You heard the shadow beckoning Then your fears seemed to keep you blinded You held your guard as you walked away
When you think all is forsaken, Listen to me now You need never feel broken again Sometimes darkness can show you the light
An unforgivable tragedy The answer isn't where you think you'd find it Prepare yourself for the reckoning For when your world seems to crumble again Don't be afraid, don't turn away You're the one who can redefine it Don't let hope become a memory Let the shadow permeate your mind and Reveal the thoughts that were tucked away So that the door can be opened again Within your darkest memories Lies the answer if you dare to find it Don't let hope become a memory
When you think all is forsaken, Listen to me now You need never feel broken again Sometimes darkness can show you the light
Sickening, weakening Don't let another somber pariah consume your soul You need strengthening, toughening It takes an inner dark to rekindle the fire burning in you Ignite the fire within you
When you think all is forsaken, Listen to me now You need never feel broken again Sometimes darkness can show you the light
Don't ignore, listen to me now You need never feel broken again Sometimes darkness Can show you the light
(this one is my secret weapon against depression. the original and other remixes vary wildly in terms of emotion impressions. this one is by far takes the happiest of self-acceptance. it's about accepting the absurdity of life with a smile on your face.)
(Gala embodies the beautiful. It isn't blind optimism. She exposes the truth, and compels to action.)
(wordless. this is the hope and feeling of triumph when you remain at the center, weathered by experience but never broken.)
Not sure if this really qualifies, but this kickass instrumental by Satch comes to mind. It's like a dream in musical form and always sets my mood right.
Edit: Had to post and run so now I can get to the reasons. x'D
Its my prime anti-depression song. The lyrics are very empowering.

The pacing is just tons of fun to my brain.

Another empowering song that brings a smile to my face when I think about the official video.
--
I learned of this song in my early high school days so its all sorts of happy nostalgia about letting things go.
--
Its Fight Song. Everyone and their cat probably has heard this by now. lol

Lean On - Major Lazer & DJ Snake ft MØ Lyrics
This song was really popular but I didn't really pay attention to it until the Youtube Rewind video came out. Then I became inspired and I use it as inspiration for writing. :)
This just, it gets me to feel like there's a chance.
Jump -Two Steps From Hell
This is the fucking song that will be playing at the end of my life, when me and @Dervish bust down the gates of Hell, guns blazing, cutting through legions of demons and dethroning Satan himself.
And just a goofy little song that has indeed prevented a suicide attempt a few years ago.
