Greatest Un-Couples in Lit & Film

As I was reading through @Ocha's beautiful related topic, I realized that I couldn't include a lot of my personal favorites because, in their universes, they weren't couples.
Obviously, this can't be allowed to continue! Our favorite un-couples must have their time in the spotlight! Who is to say that our imaginations haven't made some beautiful parings?

So, denizens of Iwaku, who are your favorite un-couples? Which characters never actually get together in their own universe, but are free to frolic in your imagination? Which characters really should have cashed in on that chemistry?​

Un-couple? That's a new term for me, but I'll assume you're just talking about non-canon couples, excluding OCs?

Pretty much non-canon, though some people take that term to include OCs which is why I went for un-couple. ^^

I'm with you all the way on Roy x Ed. Also, Riza and Winry, to make the swap complete. :D

Sue and Kazuhiko

Being isolated from the rest of mankind since she was young, Sue was lonely and craved for company. However, her only wish was to be taken to "Fairy Park," an abandoned amusement park. Her escort is Kazuhiko, an ex-military soldier who has been forced by to undertake the task. It is later revealed that Kazuhiko and Sue are connected through Kazuhiko's deceased lover, Ora.

Also, Steve Rogers and Tony Stark. If they're not going to kiss already, they might as well do some more fight scenes for me. When the two of them work as a duo, it's pretty awesome.

It really is :D The greatest Marvel un-couple, however, is definitely...

Because my god, that Chemistry. Especially in The Dark World- the glances they give each other just lend credence to the fan theories. I squee a little bit every time they're on screen together.
