Gun Gale Online is a Virtual Reality MMO in the near future, that spawned from the FullDive system of Sword Art Online. Though the later would be remembered in Infamy across Japan and the World. Offering a VR experience unlike any other, the FullDive system allows one to feel various sensation across the spectrum. From a sensation of pain at being shot or ran through, to the taste of beer and cooking at the various player and NPC shops across a wide range of titles.
With a largely unobtrusive Holographic internal UI, players are limited only in the capacity of the player character being randomly generated and locked to ones biological gender. However the range of character types and even uncanny likeness is wide spread. One can can even limitedly cosmetically change their appearance to a limited degree, or import a custom character from another game. Based on a post apocalyptic far future, players start in the crashed Space Battle Cruiser SBC Glocken, A massive spaceship that returned to planet Earth after a huge war had turned the environment into a wasteland. Below the spaceship lies the ruins of an ancient civilization full of automatic machines and mutant creatures where players can hunt for riches and glory. And the surrounding countryside is much the same, from beaches near a ruined city, to a wind swept desert where the carcasses of MBT's lay scattered across the surface, rolling plains and hilly mountains.
Gun Gale attracts a wide assortment of players who can be spotted patrolling the halls and mesh walkways of the city, or out in the field where they work with or against other players. Scams and scalpers, honor and glory, all and more are to be found. And Gun Gale has one unusual feature that no other VRMMO has up to this point. A Pro Player system and the ability to turn in game currency into real cash. While the game itself costs 3000 Yen a month to play, it is possible with enough commitment to make a modest living from the game, or spare cash in the least. Conversely, one can use real world money to gain in game currency.
Over the course of your adventures in GGO you have or will make connections with other people given the need of a Squadron to stay safe from PK'ers or PVE threats in the ruins and wastelands. And these connections will be vital in the episodic RP to come. With Gun, Explosive or Photon Sword in hand, may you find dependable allies and find the wealth in hand.
Gun Gale Online utilizes the soul-less logout, in which the user can immediately log-out in safe zones, but in the field the body remains soul-less for a period of time and then the user is logged out. In the soul-less state, the user can be killed and have their items stolen, if their body is left unguarded. GGO also makes use of a bullet line system, in which when a finger touches the trigger a red line showing the rough trajectory of the round heading for you can be shown. There are some skills that go around or limit the effect of this however. Plus seeing a line doesn't mean being able to dodge.

Q: What are the post quality and expectations?
A: At least once a week, I will be aiming for more than that but once is good enough to keep you in. Post quality is expected to be two paragraphs minimum. Pretty standard for Iwaku.
Q: What are Classes and Skills?
A: Please read down below. If you are asking what they are in general, GGO has a stat system and skills, rather than be tedious with it I'm going about it like this, the skills should be more seen as things your PC can do or that showcases a bit in how they stat. If you have more questions hit me up in the OOC Discord.
Q: What Server are we in and do characters from the various anime seasons count?
A: Japanese Server. Events of the prior installments have happened and don't concern us, timeline wise we are around the 4th Squad Jam which has not been covered in Medium past the LN which is still ongoing. So thus I will be making up things as we go along. Thus for now, the PC's of other works may be known factors but will likely not factor into this RP which is more based upon the Alternative Anime rather than the SAO main.
Q: I never seen/read/heard, can I join? What do I need to know?
A: Of course you can join. Even if you are a brand new Orange name, I won't mind. As to what you need to know. Nothing really, you can be a total noob and I ooc wise will help you decide weapons if you don't know about that. The only thing you need to know is you are playing an ultrarealistic VR game, that isn't as punishing as say Tarkov.
Q: PVP?
A: This RP's main focus will be PVE and "PVP", as in the bulk of what you fight will be AI enemies, CPU enemies and "Players". If any two or group of actual players get into it, then the matter will be revisited.
Q: What do you mean by an Episodic Plotline?
A: How it sounds, we'll be focused on minor or near term goals that will bit by bit get resolved and lead into the main event, which shall be all the players in one Squadron facing off against teams, admins and AI's as part of a grand tournament worth a lot of money.
Q: How many characters can I have?
A: As many as you can control, but in practical terms say a max of two if you so desire. One is what you are, well required to have if you wish to RP.
Q: Can I make a skill of my own that isn't on your list?
A: While I've put a bit of time and effort on this list, I do not have all the answers. All that I require is that you run your idea across me and wait for my approval before you add it.
Q: Why only 4 skills?
A: Balance. If I see a need or request for more then those numbers are subject to change.
Q: What are the rules?
A: Pretty much the usual. Take any sex scenes to black or do them on your own time, romance and relationships is fine and the VR Simulation is rather "advanced". Cursing I don't care about, I am the ultimate law of this RP, I don't mind debate but I don't have time to deal with people's shit. No godmodding, other Iwaku rules, gore isn't applicable because when shot, stabbed, cut in half, etc a red cross grid that glows takes the place of the wound and while you can "feel it", it is not so great as to actively disturb you from play. I reserve the right to update this list or turn it into an actual list at a later date.
Q: Will there be "IRL" RP interactions?
A: Of course, that is why I added that to the sheet, though this will happen as story/interactions allow, rather than being a focus.
Q: My question isn't here?
A: Use the OOC or DM me on Iwaku. Questions of note will be added to the list.
Skills And Classes
Class Proficiency and Overview
-Universal-
-Gunner-
-Duelist-
-Breacher-
-Sniper-
-Grenadier-
-Specialist-
-
Class Proficiency showcases the weapon you mostly use into the following categories; Universal, Gunner, Duelist, Breacher, Sniper, Grenadier and Specialist.
Universal are combat related abilities that are not favored/limited to a "Class". While Specialist are non-combat skills which are likewise not limited to any "class".
The other five are tied to classes, which in turn are tied to weapon type(s) or function. As noted, GGO takes place in the far future and pretty much every gun from the SAA Revolver to the AK-15 are possible additions, so are Photon Swords, Plasma Grenades, and Optical Guns (aka blaster rifles) and exotic weapons and gear made from the Battle Cruisers very Armor, though these are exceptionally rare.
There also are things in this world that aren't weapons, such as Stim shots, which up one's ability to withstand damage, Medpacs, which emit a glow to heal ones HP bar, Ballistic Shields, and most importantly Energy Shields and Disruptor Belts that protect against Optical Weapons.
Basic When making a sheet, list as shown in this example - Breacher, Shotgun; Gunner, Machine Gun; Duelist, Pistol etc I will help you name or find an actual weapon if need be. Basic types of weapons and general info are as follows;
Submachine Guns: (SMG's) are high capacity rapid fire weapons that use pistol caliber ammunition.
Machine Guns: fill a variety of roles and come in a number of roles from the LMG, GPMG and SAW. Regardless of type they almost always use intermediate or full size rounds, are belt or high capacity magazine fed and have a tremendous rate of fire with terrible accuracy. They are made to blanket and suppress an area.
Assault Rifles: Weapons that use Intermediate rounds and typically a box magazine, falling in-between the Machine Gun and SMG, accuracy and stopping power varies widely depending on type.
Optical Rifles: Shoots light based energy beams that are rather effective at hunting Mobs. Because of how prolific these weapons are with new players and in general, defensive equipment can be used to disperse the damage of optical weapons, making them ineffective against players. Optical guns are all given fanciful names and shapes. Generally lighter in weight with smaller magazines and greater accuracy, these laser guns still have a place, though most veteran players tend to get rid of these for traditional guns typically.
Include a Shield Generator, or disruptor belt in your character sheet in gear/equipment.
I purposely added this here to trip up players to make sure who read. A new player can be pardoned for not having this but need to make note To acquire
Sniper Rifles: Typically full sized rifle rounds or larger, Anti-Tank Rifles, Battle Rifles and traditional Sniper rifles all fall under here. With a typically slow rate of fire and limited ammunition they are very long ranged and accurate.
Handguns: Typically use small ammunition rounds, nothing special to note here minus such weapons have limited range and accuracy
Shotguns: Loaded with large cannisters, primarily shrouded in plastic, they fire pellets or slugs. Shotguns are typically only close range weapons with tremendous power and limited capacity.
Grenade Launchers: Weapons that fire large explosive shells, Grenade Launchers can use an assortment of rounds and smoke grenades to attack or conceal. Given the large size of the rounds, ammo capacity is very limited. Unsafe to use at close range.
Rocket Launchers: A chemically fired Rocket, typically limited to smaller weapons, very heavy and limited in rounds like the Grenade Launcher, unsafe to use at close range, fairly rare.
Melee Weapons: Any weapon that is used from melee and makes sense for a shooter to have, be it a combat knife, bayonet or photon blade.
Grenades: Standard pull and throw, or press and throw hand grenades, smoke, plasma and frag are all possibilities.
-
-No Weapon Type Limit-
Tenacity: When normally encountering a lethal situation you will survive with 10% Hp left. Once reduced the ability does not reset till you are healed to 75% of HP at least.
Weapon Master: Allows you to equip a 2nd Primary class weapon.
Topographic Master: Your character has a more detailed map of an area and may be given special info by the DM in practice.
Martyr: Provided you have a grenade or explosive weapon, upon death you will drop a live explosive, detonating on your position as your body fades.
Acrobatics: Like the daring young man atop the flying trapeze, your movements are very agile, you can roll, spin, dodge and in some cases parkour with relative ease.
Army Combatant: You are a master at hand to hand combat, only a fellow combatant can hold up to you in a melee fight.
Sonic Sprint: For brief durations you can run at insane speeds leaving others in the dust, and keep up with some vehicles too.
Uncanny Sense: You have a chance to detect hidden enemies when they are about to engage you with some form of bullet line delay. Find them before they find you.
Blood Hound: An enemy spotted by your hud, that does not go into water or has a concealment ability/cloaking device will leave a "trail" towards where they were last headed, this effect lasts for twenty minutes.
Grit: Damage sustained is delayed for a few seconds. Damage can prevented if healed before its triggered.
-
- Machine Guns and Optical Weapons-
Nerves of Steel: You do not flinch in the line of fire, hits to you do not throw off your already limited aim. Now let those rounds go downrange.
Heavy Weapons: A special skill of the Gunner, A Machine Gun not enough for you? How about walking around with an M2, Kord, other heavy machine gun or even a rotary Gatling gun? Cover becomes a suggestion. But do so does anything that requires you to do more than walk.
Superior Suppression: You can briefly ignore weapon heat for three minutes every twenty minutes allowing for sustained fully automatic fire.
Lock'n'Load: Reload times on machinegun weapons are cut in half when in use by you for two minutes every twenty minutes. Prevents any chance of a jam during those two minutes.
Power Cell Compensation: Can modify the power settings of an Optical Rifle to be more like a normal rifle against shielded targets at cost to ammo.
Power Cell Overload: Can convert a power cell into a grenade
Dazzler: Can overload the Optical Weapon to get a Machinegun level rate of fire while keeping accuracy, weapon over heats and cools down once used and will not be functional for the next three minutes in exchange.
-
-Handguns, Photon Swords and Knives-
Akimbo: The ability to wield two duelist weapons simultaneously with little drawback.
Cloak and Dagger: Can conceal weapons expertly and deploy them with little warning from sleeves or coat.
Slaughter: By cutting an enemy you can gain a burst of speed to movement till you have missed or the first hit enemy expires.
High Noon: You have significantly improved accuracy and range with handguns.
Banzai Blitz: While not all can deflect bullets like the Black Swordsman, you can capture his spirit and endure gunfire so long as your HP holds in a Saber charge.
Quick Draw: You have a significant delay in bullet line detection to a foe when drawing on them till your first shot has been fired.
Mirrored Blade: Allows the user to use high strength alloy or focusing crystals to improve the cutting ability of a Photon Sword or melee cutting weapon permantly.
-
-Shotgun-
I'm the Juggernaut!: You are able to equip yourself with Juggernaut heavy armor, the best protection in the game, though it slows movement speed to a walking pace. Most weapons will have to work hard to penetrate.
Knock em down!: Your rounds can stagger those who are under the effect of an ability that prevents knockback or wound sensation.
Recoil?: You are so used to the firepower of your shotgun that it does not slow you down and leads to less disruption to your aiming circle.
Riot Control: You can equip and use arm mounted shields to soak up damage so you can get closer.
Skeet: You can gain an estimated trajectory towards objects being thrown toward you to better blast them
-
-Sniper, Battle, AT Rifles-
Hawk Eye: You have great perception and can pick out targets and hidden enemies at a distance with your naked eye, effectively doubling the view range and zoom of scopes.
One Shot Two Kills: Your round can penetrate a target or hard obstacle to hit an object behind.
Cripple: You can temporarily cripple the appendages of an enemy by shooting them there, till they receive or heal themselves.
Distraction: You can give off a false map ping of your location to trick another player
Concealment: By use of natural features or cloaking shroud, you can hide your presence if you can escape after being detected.
Sniper Touch: You leave no bullet line, by knowing your way around guns in the real world, your touch on the rifle is so light and instant that no one knows about the line till its already been shot.

-Grenade Launcher, Hand thrown Explosives-
Blanket Fire: Increase weapon reload and fire rate for two minutes, followed by a minute of no fire from launcher type. Can only be used once every half hour.
Over the Horizon: Great radio communication range and drop down map view allows you to fire grenades behind cover or from far away with aid of a spotter.
Blast Warning: Given proximity warning to *all* explosive attacks.
Trip Wire: Can rig explosive shells or grenades to wires to use as traps
Wet storage: All stored explosives cannot be set off in a chain reaction against you, back of rocket launchers are damp to absorb most back blast.
-
-Non Combat Skills-
Patron Saint: When healing an Ally you take less damage from hostile action.
Spare the Dying: If you can reach a player who has dipped into the red before they die you can stabilize and save them.
Medic: While everyone can use first aid kits and healing items, the Medic has a much greater effectiveness with it and restores a larger pool of HP.
Weapon Creation: Can craft weapons from Raw Materials
Blade Creation: Can craft bladed weapons...
Item Creation: Can craft items...
Explosives Creation: Can craft explosives...
Negotiation: Can engage in conversation with neutral and friendly AI and CPU and barter for lower prices or special permissions.
Persuasion: See Negotiation and change the way you talk.
Listener: In towns you can actively pick up on conversations near you and filter out ones you do not wish to hear.
Swimming: Given GGO slowly kills most people who go into water of any good depth or even shallow pools, the lack of loot, or enemies, swimming is a rare skill, as a bonus water contact doesn't kill you and you can tread deep bodies provided your stamina holds up.
Mechanic: Can use tool kits to fix up and repair an assortment of vehicles.
Power Armor Training: Allows you to wear the 2nd best armor in the game with no lost speed.
Cooking: Yes, cooking, you are in an MMO that you can smell and TASTE things, why wouldn't you want some good food? Though its a skill not many take up unless they run a bar or food stall to make money, otherwise you can get plenty of food from NPC's, though not world first quality.
