Okay, so I watch the trailer to Iron Man 2.

There's a scene where Pepper Face throws Tony Dude's helmet out of the plane. He says "You complete me!" then jumps out of the plane.

NOT IN THE ACTUAL FILM - HE JUST JUMPS OUT WITH NO SIGN OF PEPPER FACE.



I watch the trailer to Predators.

There's a scene where the main hero freezes as a dozen or so red dots appear on him.

NOT IN THE ACTUAL FILM - THERE'S ONLY ONE.




WHAT THE FUCK IS GOING ON? IS THIS SOME ENGLISH CINEMA THING, OR ARE WE BEING DELIBERATELY BULLSHITTED?

They needed to save some material for the Director's Cut that will be realeased a week or two after the regular DVD release. It's all part of a plan to turn maximum profits with the least amount of work.

The trailers are often made before the whole movie is shot... sooo... sometimes they use shots that will not be included in the final version of the movie.

It's like how the trailer made Hancock seem like it would be a comedy, but it ended up being more of a drama. The marketing people knew shit all about the movie.

I didn't like that movie much. I guessed the big twist half an hour in and basically gave my friends the old "You'll see. I'm right." routine for the remainder. Then when I was right I closed with "I fucking told you so."

I propose this thread get changed into a thread where we complain about movies in general.
