This challenge is to help strengthen your vocabulary. You'll learn new words and how to use them in roleplay posts, stories, poems, etc!

Instructions:
1. Aim for a minimum of 1-3 paragraphs. If you'd like to write more than that, then go for it!
2. Make sure you use each word in your post. Be as creative as you'd like.
3. Style the writing like you would for a story. It can be describing a setting, or written from the perspective of a character. Whatever you feel would work the best.
4. Have fun with this, of course!

"Lead... the devil's metal."

The sergeant's mordant call echoed across the field, his vain attempt to encourage the pusillanimous men falling short. Each stood, scared to death but standing tall as every man should. Their kepi's tucked down upon their heads, helping to hide the fear in their eyes as they bit into the coarse linen and paper wrappings. The dark diablerie fell from it, sprinkles to the soil that would soon be dyed carmine. "Load!" The sergeant called, each man tipping the powder into their rifles, the ball held in the bottom soon following it with a swift twitch of the arm. Lead, it was the devil's metal...

"AIM!"

Each man said a silent prayer as wood met shoulder and cheek. Their eyes transfixed upon a slight sliver at the end of the great iron rod. Each leveling upon faces no more than a stone's throw away. Each of those faces showed the same terror. Their faces contorted into a frenzied rictus, they would live through this, they had to.

"Fire!"

A twitch, nothing more, was what it took to kill a man. Hundreds of them echoed across the field. The roar was deafening, second only to the cries of the transmuted lumps that were strewn across the field. All it took was a blink and what was once a man was now nothing more than a writhing mass upon the field. All because lead is the devil's metal....
