Retsu learned to hold her tongue, but her mind was still wondering about the strangeness of the situation. She has largely gotten over being chosen; it's not like she didn't want to. It was just how... Careless the princess Hikaru seemed to be. No test, no questions, just picking whoever she whims for a trip to Mount Fuji? Why where they going there anyways? Perhaps it wasn't in her place to ask, but Retsu did need to know. But she also knew that asking the Emperor was liable to get her into more trouble. For now, Retsu would simply have to accept things as they are. If nothing else Hikaru surely knew what was going on, so asking her would be just as good as the Emperor telling her himself. When food was brought out Retsu helped herself to a onigiri before following the rest of the others out to the gates.

Once outside the guardsmen gave her her weapons back. Her humble kama and knife, both which she nonchalantly placed on her belt. More importantly her wagon was still here, so Retsu got back onto the buggy. Looking at it, her worried that her wagon wouldn't be able to carry everyone. With the supplies inside she could fit maybe three or four people in the back of the wagon, and two riding with her. The others would simply have to walk or find their own mounts, as the horses were not conditioned to be ridden, only harnessed. Retsu turned to the other nine warriors and their princess, giving them a polite smile. "You're welcome to ride aboard, Princess. As are the rest of you, though I can't promise that there is enough space for everyone." Pulling the reins Retsu got the horses ready to move. Now that she thought of it, she should try to upgrade the wagon. What cart was hardly fit for a princess, and lacked any cover. Wouldn't really be good to hide the princess if she's sitting in the open, exposed to the enemy and the elements.

Shirohane Ageha

Watching the exchange happening between the miko and the emperor she was mildly fascinated by the whole deal. As they were led outside she kept her relief from being able to move for herself. The relief was soon changed with joy as they got their belongings back. Giving her staff a proper look she confirmed that it was still okay, satisfied her attention soon went quickly to the mirror.

Giving it a careful and thorough examination she looked for any scratches or smudges on it. Finding none she sighed in relief and wiped it with a piece of cloth before carefully putting the prized possession back with her belongings. Adjusting the koto hanging across her back she caught the last of Retsu's offer and smiled calmly. "I'm fine. I can surely manage walking for now."

Maki messed with her silver hair running her fingers through it as she waited for the two to finish their conversation, the sooner this matter was resolved the sooner she could call in her favor. How the girl acted seemed alright to her so she paid no mind to her antics, she was a child such behavior was common and though she had a bit too much energy she'd prefer normality over anything else. Though she paid no mind to the actions around her she caught the words that came out of the emperor's mouth. Releasing her ponytail she raised her gaze to him hearing 'Mt. Fuji' come from him, was that the destination? It was a long way from here she knew that without a map. She was fine with the journey but for going that far she expected his full support when they returned.
Maki shut her eyes making a mental note to make that part clear once this was taken care of, opening her eyes she glanced over seeing the map handed to the miko a few feet away. If she had the map then she was following behind her, Hikaru however seemed to be leading the way out of the room and after grabbing an onigiri she followed after the shrine maiden as went after Hikaru.

She took her sword back from the guards staring at it for a moment, her gaze moved to the guard for a moment before she wiped the sheath with her sleeve. She reattached the charm to the hilt shortly afterwards. Pulling at the small cloth wrapped continuously around the sheath she drew it slightly checking the blade. Content after her check she fully sheathed it and moved it back to her waist, mumbling something to herself before lowering her arms back to her sides.
"I'll walk..." Maki said resting her arm on the hilt of her sword.
She'd be able to stay awake easier if she walked alongside them anyway, and if she sat near Hikaru she might start talking to her which she intended on avoiding.
Taking a bite out of the onigiri her eyes moved over to Chieko, she stared at her chewing for a moment before swallowing and pointing at finger at her with the hand holding the onigiri.
"You...map holder...your name."

Kimiko got on the back of the wagon. "Thank you for the offer." She smiled at the woman who was riding the horse. Kimiko sat on the edge of wagon, she was close enough to protect the Princess if needed. Kimiko had been running and jumping all day, she was glad she could take a small break.

[BCOLOR=transparent]Kimiko was excited to go to Mt. Fuji, she had never been. Sure Kimiko had been to a lot of different places, but she never got around to Mt. Fuji. "I'm Kimiko! What are all your beautiful names?" Kimiko asked all the women in her company, she thought it would be best that they all got to know each other. They would make better protectors if they trusted each other.[/BCOLOR]

D'awwww, Hikaru was so cute! Haruka still thought that the princess might have been a little on the rebellious, spoiled side of things, but all her actions made her adorable! Like those mischievous little kids running about in the streets, causing minor havoc for the sake of amusement. It was clear, though, that the Emperor himself was more annoyed than anything else, and Haruka kept her gushing to herself. There would be more than enough time for such antics after they got on the road.

As the Emperor continued to speak, however, more important things came to light. This job, it appeared, would be to escort Hikaru up to the summit of Mount Fuji, a place of great spiritual power, or so Haruka heard. Though she didn't want to discount any possibilities, the martial artist doubted that it was something as leisurely as a sightseeing trip.

Ah, what a bother. All this worrying and thinking would just make wrinkles on her forehead.

Following the rest of the women, Haruka didn't receive anything from the guards, because she hadn't brought anything with her the first place. Taking a seat on the peasant's wagon, she was pleasantly surprised to see how clean it was. It seemed that this particular peasant lady took pride in the appearance of her vehicle, if nothing else. Or maybe the odor of the horses masked any offensive scents wafting from the wagon?

Taking a seat in the back, alongside the girl with curiously-colored hair, Haruka replied, dipping her head down for a bow, "I'm Fujiyama Haruka, a native of Kyoto. I'm in your care, Kimiko-chan."

It was odd, how the girl didn't state her own last name, and it did make Haruka a little squeamish, addressing a stranger by their first name, but…well, hopefully no one else was like that.

Even though they had a woman who literally wore nothing at all.

Hikaru bounced on her heels with an onigiri in one hand, and another being brought up to her lips. "Haiii," She chirped, bits of rice falling around her mouth as she accepted Retsu's offer. Before anyone else could get on the cart, Hikaru crawled on top of it, taking the best seat for herself. "Thank yoouu," Hikaru sang lightly, legs swinging over the edge of the cart. As the girl with oddly colored hair spoke up, Hikaru looked over at her. The small girl had sensed something odd about Kimiko, which was probably why Hikaru had chosen her in the first place.

"Ne, Kimiko-chan, good idea asking everyone's names," Hikaru said, a light giggle following her voice.

Chieko finished fastening her equipment, and looked towards the peasant woman and her cart. She studied it intently, impressed with how well taken care of it was. It seemed the peasant was more worried about her simple cart's appearance than her own, but that was none of Chieko's business, and it certainly wasn't the miko's place to judge. She turned away and found herself facing the blonde warrior now, a furrowed brow on her face at the woman's brash nature. "Matsunaga Chieko," Chieko answered, bowing slightly to the girl. "I'm happy to make your acquaintance."

Shirohane Ageha

"My name is Shirohane Ageha, it's nice to meet you all." With a polite bow she continued her introduction: "I am a musician by profession but I also have received some training in barrier spells and staff handling. I hope my skills will be of use for this journey if it comes to that." Keeping a polite smile in place she was wondering if the others would mention their capabilities. Most likely not.

Maki's eyes moved to the girl apparently named Kimiko for a moment as she spoke, her eyelids lowered a little noticing the girl's abundant of energy, but her attention moved away from her to Haruka as she introduced herself. She wasn't sure how to feel about introductions with one another but she supposed it was better than 'you' and pointing at a specific person. Maki looked over at Chieko as she was the person whose name she wanted to know seeing as she was carrying the only thing that could properly lead them to the objective. Though she picked up the change in her expression she kept hers neutral continuing to stare at her watching as bowed after introducing herself.
"Too long," Maki said shaking her head. "...you're Matsu now."

She started counting on her fingers with her free hand going over the few whose names had spoken and the one she heard, remembering them was going to take a bit of effort but she figured making a little effort wouldn't hurt, especially since they were all protecting Hikaru. Maki's eyes moved over to to the little girl who seemed more than excited for the journey and Maki made a mental note to stay out of eye shot and if need be earshot of the little girl. Talking with and engaging children tended to be exhausting and she didn't expect any less from Hikaru...or Kimiko.
"Fuji, Shiro....Kimi...Awai..." Maki said trying to remember. "Oh...I'm Yoshida."
Maki lowered her hand and continued eating her onigiri closing her eyes as she waited to move again.

imiko liked how everyone was getting to know each other, she was hopping up and down on the ride. She looked at the little girl Hikaru. "Thank you Hikaru-chan. You are a smart and beautiful little girl." Kimiko was about to smile at the girl, but she felt her teeth popping up. Kimiko looked away. "No...not right now." Kimiko hid her mouth, as she forced her teeth to change to normal.

Nodding at everyone gathering, Retsu turned to her horses and snapped the reigns. "Hiya!"

Soon the group was heading towards the exit of the city. They attracted a few stares; initially they seemed to have just been dismissed as a band of warrior women, but once some of the more drunken hecklers showed some people started to look more closely at the group. Most ignored Retsu, thankfully, but many recognized some like Haruka and Hikaru. The former for being a regular of the city, and the latter for being the princess. That part was going to make things difficult when suddenly Retsu's wagon was starting to get swarmed by pedestrians who wanted a closer look at the princess, wanting to know what she was doing out here. "Tch... Well... Hang on everyone!"

Snapping her reigns again Retsu hand her horses push through the crowd at a fairly fast past; not full speed, but liable to trample someone over. Luckily most of the city folk were smart enough to give Retsu's wagon a wide birth was she came barreling down the street and out of the city gates. Which was a shame, as Retsu did want to see the city for a bit longer. "Oh well... May I see the map, Matsunaga-dono? I'd like to see what our path ought to be." Retsu also wanted to see if she could take a detour back to her home village. She knew it was a bit out of the way, but considering their destination the group wasn't going to arrive any time soon. Certainly no time this week.
